Little Brother starten mit dem Longplayer »Getback« einen Neuanfang. Vier Jahre ist es her, dass Phonte, Big Pooh und 9th Wonder mit ihrem hoch gepriesenem Debüt »The Listening« die Rapszene aufmischten. Heute, heißt es back to the roots . Allerdings ohne 9th wonder, der auf dem Album lediglich die Autorenrechte an einem einzige Beat verzeichnen darf. Dieser Verlust ist Phonte und Big Pooh jedoch kaum anzumerken, da die beiden größtenteils von Illmind, Hi-Tek und Nottz mit frischen, souligen Beats versorgt werden. Die erste Nummer des Albums »Please Stand By« ist sehr entspannt, wiegt einen gar in Sicherheit, bis der Zuhörer mit »Sirens« in eine andere Dimension katapultiert wird: ein rockiger Takt und Little Brothers gewohnt lässige Lyrics. Ein wahrer Ohrenschmaus. Während Little Brother mit soliden Nummern und ihren, wie immer lustigen Skits überzeugen, kommt gegen Ende des Albums mit »Two Step Blues« die Topnummer. Bei diesen Drums kann sogar Kanye Wests »Stronger« einpacken. Da stimmt einfach die Chemie. Little Brother lassen sich von den momentanen Schwierigkeiten mit ABB Records nichts anmerken und überzeugen mit einem durchweg guten Album.
