Once again Nike teamed up with Parra to create this amazing special edition of the great Air Maxim 1. The upper is made of nylon weave and suede, the contrast stitching and the speckled pattern on the midsole represents Parra's signature colors. If you ask yourself where's Parra freaky graphics at, just take a look at the woven tongue patch, the foam-padded insole or the outsole for some cartoonish post-Pop Art flavor.

Der Wahnsinn geht in die nächste Runde: Parra ist es mit der Umgestaltung dieses Runners gelungen, dem Air Maxim 1 eine völlig neue Bedeutung zu geben. Auf den ersten Blick macht sich die Handschrift des niederländischen Künstlers nur in Form der Kontrastnähte, Schnürsenkel und des gesprenkelten Musters auf der Mittelsohle bemerkbar, deren Farben Fans des Parra-Stil bestens vertraut sind. Riskiert man mal einen Blick auf das gewebte Zungen-Patch, die geschäumte Innensohle und die Außensohle, stößt man auf die typischen PopArt-inspirierten Graphics Parras. Allgemein ist das große Plus des Air Maxim 1 neben der exzellenten Dämpfung und den stabilisierenden Flywire-Side Panels die extrem leichtgewichtige Konstruktion: Man braucht ungefähr drei Air Maxim 1 um das Gewicht eines Air Max 1 zu erreichen – und der war auch schon nicht wirklich ein Klotz am Bein!
