Item Description
Norosvaldo 'Noro' Morales was a Puerto Rican band leader and pianist who emigrated to New York in 1935. His brothers were also successful recording musicians. Whilst in the US Noro released 'Serenata Ritmica' on Decca Records and enjoyed a very successful period playing alongside Machito, Puente, Rosario and many of the Latin greats. 'Saona' is taken from the 1964 Tico LP 'No Blues, Noro'. Previously unreleased on 7". Cachao a a true pillar in latin music. Considered by many to be the inventor of the Mambo sound, a true master of 'Decarga' or Cuban jam sessions and a highly influential 'Charanga' bass player... Not surprising given that his extended family consisted of over 40 of them! In 1994 Cachao was inducted into Billboard's Latin Music Hall of Fame, he has won multiple grammy awards and even has a star on the Hollywood 'Walk of Fame'. Taken from the album 'Jam Session With Feeling (Descargas Cubanas)' originally released on New York based Fiesta in 1962.
