Established in May 2004, London-based footwear company Pointer was created with the aim of making simple, well-designed casual shoes in response to a market saturated with increasingly technical trainers and hyped-up limited edition sneakers. Although the look is quite different, the comfort reminds of mediterranean old and mid school kicks as well as the cool and stylish down-to-earth designs. Pointer was founded by former Silas and Maria production manager Gareth Skewis and designers Mat Fowler and Hannah Draper, a threesome that shared the same vision of creating the smartest sports shoes alternative for grown-up people being tired of flashy colors and futuristic multi-layer constructions. Pointer is backed by a creative stable of friends and co-conspirators, inspired and informed by everything from art and music to skateboarding and breakfast. Today, Pointer's most famous creations include the chameleon-like Barajas, the desert boot-inspired Cyril, the funky yachting shoe named Taylor, and the wallabee-type of mid-top Benson.
