Introduced in 1990, Nike´s Air Max 90 represents the third generation Air Max and goes back to the OG colorway including the world-famous Infrared tone as well as a smooth blend of white, cool grey and black. Instead of just copying the original Air Max style, Nike created a more advanced, multi-layer upper and created a cutting-edge look that was hard to ignore while the midsole offered more stability than older Air Max generations. The great runner known as Air Max 90 or III is equipped with synthetic and mesh upper, contrast Swoosh branding, Nike rubber label at heel, breathable fabric lining, a foam-padded insole, a PU midsole with visible Air unit, and a rubber outsole with waffle tread pattern.

Wenn man von Nike's Air Max 90 spricht, meint man eigentlich den Air Max III. Nike gelang es, das Gewicht des 1990 eingeführten Runners abermals zu reduzieren, was natürlich genau wie die erneuerte Mittelsohle, die deutlich mehr Stabilität bot, dem Laufkomfort zugute kam und Kritikern, die diesen Schuh ein Fashion Item sahen, die Argumentationsgrundlage nahm. Ganz weit vorne bei den ganzen Reissues des Air Max 90 ist selbstverständlich dieser Colorway, der der Erstauflage entliehen ist und die Herzen der Nike-Heads höher schlagen lässt. Weiterhin leitete die Silhouette dieses Modells bereits einen Trend ein, an dem die Konkurrenz noch jahrelang zu knabbern hatte – letztlich blieb der AM 90 aber bis heute unerreicht und erfreut sich weiterhin größter Beliebtheit.
