Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous is Big L's debut album and the only album released during his lifetime. It was released on March 28, 1995, through Columbia Records and is now widely regarded as one of the defining underground hip-hop albums of the 1990s. Although it received critical acclaim for its lyricism, the album achieved only modest commercial success upon release. Born Lamont Coleman in Harlem, New York, Big L first gained recognition through freestyle battles and as a member of the legendary Diggin' in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.). After being discovered by Lord Finesse, he signed with Columbia Records in 1993 and recorded the album between 1992 and 1994.

The production was primarily handled by D.I.T.C. affiliates including Lord Finesse, Buckwild, Showbiz, and Craig Boogie. Built around classic boom bap drums and soulful samples, the album's stripped-back production provides the perfect backdrop for Big L's intricate rhyme schemes, sharp punchlines, and effortless flow. Guest appearances include Lord Finesse, Grand Daddy I.U., Herb McGruff, Party Arty, as well as early career performances from Jay-Z and Cam'ron. In particular, "Da Graveyard," featuring a young Jay-Z, has become one of the album's most celebrated tracks.

Lyrically, Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous explores themes of street life, battle rap, dark humor, and clever wordplay. Big L became known for his multisyllabic rhymes, vivid storytelling, and razor-sharp punchlines, establishing himself as one of the most technically gifted MCs of his generation. Standout tracks such as "Put It On," "M.V.P.," "Danger Zone," "Street Struck," and the title track remain fan favorites. While much of the album showcases his competitive lyrical style, "Street Struck" offers a more reflective perspective, warning about the consequences of life on the streets.

Despite peaking at only No. 149 on the Billboard 200 and No. 22 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, the album's reputation has grown significantly over the years. Many fans and critics now rank it alongside East Coast classics such as Nas' Illmatic and Mobb Deep's The Infamous. Its influence can be heard in the work of countless lyricists who followed, and Big L is widely recognized as one of hip-hop's greatest punchline rappers.

Tragically, Big L was shot and killed in Harlem on February 15, 1999, at the age of 24, while working on his second album. The unfinished material was later compiled and released posthumously as The Big Picture (2000). Today, Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous stands as a timeless hip-hop classic and a testament to the extraordinary talent of an artist whose career was cut tragically short.

The LP “1999” by Joey Bada$$, originally released in 2012, brings the Brooklyn MC’s debut into physical form and presents the mixtape’s 15 tracks as a concise homage to hip-hop’s Golden Era. The release quickly brought the then‑17‑year‑old rapper to prominence and is regarded as a bridge between classic East Coast sound and the modern underground.

Musically, “1999” is marked by clear references to the ’90s: jazzy loops, tight breaks, and a focused flow that combines lyrical density with a laid‑back delivery. Standout cuts include “Waves,” “Survival Tactics,” and “Snakes”; production comes partly from the Pro Era camp (Chuck Strangers) and partly from established heavyweights like Lord Finesse, MF DOOM, and J Dilla.

As a Pro Era release, “1999” also serves as a document of its time for the collective era: guest spots from Kirk Knight, CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, Rokamouth, Dessy Hinds, Dyemond Lewis, T’nah Apex, and the late Capital STEEZ underscore the project’s collective signature. The record remains a point of reference for listeners seeking classic rap aesthetics in a contemporary form.

Limited edition of 350 copies on 2LP in gatefold sleeve incl. bonus 7" ("The 80's" b/w "Instrumental").

Originally released in 1998, "Bomb M.C." is the only full-length album by Los Angeles underground outfit The Colored Section. Comprised of Coke, Che'ski and DJ Homicide, the group crafted a distinctive sound that stood apart from the dominant trends of the era. Rooted in classic boom-bap yet enriched with off-kilter rhythms, dusty samples and understated grooves, the album balances raw energy with remarkable musical sophistication.

Much of the production was handled by Coke, formerly associated with Mad Kap, whose ear for stripped-back yet deeply effective beats gives the record its unique identity. Rather than chasing radio appeal, The Colored Section embraced originality, sharp lyricism and a laid-back West Coast sensibility that resonated strongly within the independent Hip-Hop community.

Although "Bomb M.C." remained largely overlooked upon its release, it gradually earned cult status among collectors and underground rap enthusiasts. Today, it is celebrated as one of the most underrated releases of its time - an album that captures the creativity and adventurous spirit of late-1990s independent hip-hop.

Available in a limited run on 2LP+7", 2CD in jewel case, cassette and digitally on all major platforms.

Limited edition of 350 copies on 2LP in gatefold sleeve incl. 5 bonus songs - one copy per customer maximum.

Recorded between 1995-1999 and originally released in 1999, "The Soundtrack To Life" stands as the sole full-length statement by The Outfit, an underground hip-hop collective from Delaware. At a time when commercial rap increasingly dominated the charts, the group embraced a more thoughtful and organic approach rooted in classic boom-bap traditions. Soulful samples, warm jazz-infused production and introspective lyricism define the album's character, offering an alternative to the glossy sound of the era.

Far from seeking mainstream attention, The Outfit focused on authenticity and substance. "The Soundtrack To Life" unfolds like a personal diary, touching on everyday experiences, aspirations and social observations with sincerity and maturity. Although the record never achieved widespread commercial success, it has earned respect among collectors and fans of mid-to-late-1990s independent Hip-Hop. More than two decades after its release, the album remains a hidden gem and a testament to an era when craftsmanship and message mattered as much as style.

Available in a limited run on 2LP, CD in jewel case, MC and digitally on all major platforms.

Limited edition of 500 copies on black smoke vinyl, available exclusively at HHV.

Originally released in June 2009, The Ecstatic stands as a defining artistic statement from Mos Def (now known as yasiin bey) _ a richly textured return to form that rea rmed his status as one of hip-hop's most adventurous and intellectually engaged voices. Arriving a decade after his celebrated debut Black on Both Sides, the album was widely regarded as his strongest work in years, earning near-universal praise for its lyrical breadth, eclectic production, and thematic ambition. Musically, The Ecstatic weaves a global sonic tapestry shaped by an array of forward-thinking producers including Madlib, J Dilla, Oh No, Preservation, Mr. Flash, Chad Hugo (of The Neptunes), and Georgia Anne Muldrow. The resulting soundscape is both rooted in hip-hop tradition and unbound by genre, integrating elements of jazz, soul, Middle-Eastern inflection, and experimental sample work. Tracks like "Supermagic" and "Twilite Speedball" establish a vibrant, restless energy that mirrors the album's expansive creative scope. Lyrically, yasiin bey traverses personal, political, and philosophical terrain with characteristic incisiveness, confronting social inequality, Western imperialism, and questions of cultural identity with poetic urgency. Embracing risk and complexity rather than nostalgia, The Ecstatic remains a mature, deeply felt body of work whose ambition, depth, and enduring resonance have solidified its place as a standout entry in Mos Def's catalog and in modern hip-hop history.

Limited edition of 300 copies on CD in jewel case incl. 5 bonus songs.

Limited edition of 300 copies on CD in jewel case.

Available in a limited run on 2LP+7", 2CD in jewel case, MC and digitally on all major platforms.

Originally dropped in 2016, Coloring Book wasn’t just a mixtape, it changed the game. It became the first streaming-only project to chart on the Billboard 200, breaking industry rules and proving independence could still win at the highest level. And as if that wasn’t enough? It went on to win 3 Grammy Awards, cementing its place in music history. Now, it’s celebrating its 10th anniversary, a full decade of impact, influence, and unforgettable sound.

Cincinnati, Ohio producer Hi-Tek’s name evokes images of a futuristic sensibility steeped in binary code and soldering motherboards, but it’s the warm, human vibration in his compositions that defines his impact and sonic appeal. Hi-Tek’s beat biometrics feature drums that knock like landlords on the first of the month, infused with bass that feels like God moving furniture across the heavens. Born Tony Louis Cottrell, Hi-Tek sent tremors through hip-hop’s underground via productions for Mood (“Hustle On the Side”), followed by standout work on Mos Def (Yasiin Bey) and Talib Kweli’s Black Star opus, then breaching the surface on Reflection Eternal’s Train of Thought. The undeniable thump of “The Blast” raised anticipation for his solo debut, Hi-Teknology. Defying expectations to release an instrumental album, Hi-Tek used his debut to display the full range of his creative talents. Lead single "The Sun God,” a sibling to his first collaboration with Common, the anthemic “1-9-9-9,” flaunts whimsical percussion and angelic whispers over a bassline that tiptoes across Apollo’s horizon. However, it was “Round & Round,” braiding lithe, yet sturdy guitar strums with Jonell’s sinewy lamentations of a love that has run its course, that deejays crowned the jewel of the project. Slum Village, Cormega, Buckshot, and more round out a guest list that ensures Hi-Teknology resonates with the fighters, femmes, and felons alike, from Chitown to Bucktown. As the world’s relationship to AI continues to evolve, it’s the ideal time to celebrate a perfect example of human synergy with circuits and sound. Celebrating 25 years, Hi-Teknology, returns to wax, sonically elevated and thoughtfully restored via Coalmine Reissues, where every detail matters.

This 25th Anniversary Edition 2xLP is remastered by D-Sane at Digital Age Sound and pressed on Metallic Black Ice vinyl. Housed in a 24pt matte gatefold with silver foil numbering, the package features a fully restored layout by Mr. Krum and includes a glossy 8x10 press photo of Hi-Tek, and an exclusive OBI strip. Limited to 250 copies, this HHV exclusive forms part of a 500-unit gatefold run and stands as a true collector’s item.

The LP *Amplified* by Q-Tip marks the artist’s solo debut and captures the transition in his work from the jazz-rooted aesthetic of A Tribe Called Quest to more hard-hitting, club-ready arrangements. Originally released in 1999, it came out through major labels Sony and Arista, who handled the album’s distribution.

Musically, *Amplified* blends warm, jazzy samples with contemporary beats; the sound is largely defined by co-productions from Q-Tip and Jay Dee (J Dilla), complemented by select contributions from DJ Scratch. The record offers both dancefloor-oriented singles like “Vivrant Thing” and “Breathe and Stop” and more experimental passages, causing it to oscillate between mainstream appeal and deeper substance. Guest appearances from Busta Rhymes and the unusual collaboration with Korn on “End of Time” broaden the album’s scope.

Style-wise, Q-Tip is characterized by smooth flows, incisive phrasing, and a strong melodic sense in his rapping; his production leans on layered samples, warm bass lines, and targeted percussion that give the album an organic yet polished sound. *Amplified* presents the artist as vocalist, producer, and arranger, and stands as an important milestone in his evolution as a solo artist.

Here's an excerpt of the description from back then: "The Windy City Theory" is the first official endeavor by Chicago's finest, 90 Proof. 90 Proof brings an array of styles to the table of hip-hop for those that hunger for the real and have a taste for originality. The fact that this crew cannot be classified under any one category allows them to reach every type of listener, with a very unique vocal presence that is evident in their music. The theme of this first project is simply life in the harsh streets of Chicago. Using melodic tracks and cutting edge lyrics, the six MC's paint a vivid and realistic picture in the minds of their listeners. Don't be mistaken though, these are far from your everyday gun-toting street hustlers turned rappers that you are so accustomed to hearing at the top of today's charts. 90 Proof is a totally self-contained unit with a number of in house producers, artists and writers with styles ranging from urban soul to hip-hop ... The "Thank You Limited Purple Vinyl Edition" by Mike D compiles the Beastie Boys alumnus’ solo debut as a colored LP and presents a sound aesthetic that moves between post-electronic grooves and playful, beat-driven collages. The production leans on dense, melodic hooks and relaxed to surprising arrangements that put Mike D’s distinctive voice front and center while leaving room for electronic textures and organic instrumentation.

Behind the project is a tight-knit circle of collaborators: the sessions featured, among others, his sons Skyler and Davis as well as Carter Lang, Jared Solomon, Ging, Jason Lader, Eddie Ruscha, and Tyran Donaldson, giving the album a collaborative, familial feel. The material was mixed by Derek “MixedByAli” Ali and mastered by Nicolas de Porcel, keeping the arrangements clearly defined.

The special edition places a strong emphasis on presentation: the striking artwork was created in collaboration with Can Can Press, Thad Higa, and Charles Deroyan, and the release includes thirteen tracks that map out the album’s narrative and sonic arc. As a striking collector’s edition, the purple vinyl pressing is tailored especially to lovers of physical releases.

The "1st Down" LP by Phat Kat & Jon Doe (J Dilla) has been released on Detroit Vinyl and presents the complete album exactly as it was originally intended, preserving an early chapter of Detroit hip-hop history.

1st Down emerged in the mid-1990s as a duo consisting of MC Phat Kat and producer Jon Doe, the future J Dilla; the project signed a deal with Payday Records, recorded an album, and released a single before the label folded and the full-length initially went unreleased. This edition now presents the early combinations of raw rhymes and purist beats in their entirety.

Musically, the album documents the raw, down-to-earth aesthetic of 1990s Detroit hip-hop: concise funk- and soul-based samples, stripped-down drum patterns, and a focus on groove and flow shaped by the collaboration between Phat Kat and a young J Dilla. The release falls in line with previously issued demo editions and EP compilations and puts J Dilla’s early productions front and center, without any retrospective reworking.

The LP "Dios Bendiga," released on HYBE Latin America, presents Cypress Hill for the first time with a complete album in Spanish, marking a new phase in the band’s long-running history; it was announced for July 24, and the release will also be available as a physical LP.

Musically, "Dios Bendiga" picks up on Cypress Hill’s signature elements: punchy, rhythmically sophisticated raps, distinctive grooves, and a strong identity that here is expressed consistently in Spanish. The new tracks link the band’s historical references with contemporary currents in Spanish-language rap, emphasizing cultural rootedness and collective narratives. This self-conception as a bridge between generations and regions runs like a common thread through the album.

One special aspect of the project is the large number of guest contributions — including Mellow Man Ace, Coyote, Poe Leos, Alemán, and Trueno — as well as a distinct production signature: the recordings were made in a tight, intensive time frame, the musical direction was handled by Eric Bobo, and the advance track "Campeones" was created under the leadership of DJ Flict. This combination of classic Cypress Hill elements and fresh collaborations shapes the sound and arrangements of "Dios Bendiga."

The Reunion LP by Capone-N-Noreaga, released on Tommy Boy, brings together 19 tracks from the year 2000 and marks the duo’s return after their much-acclaimed debut. The record combines street narratives with more melodic moments and uses conceptual skits as connective tissue between the individual cuts.

Musically, The Reunion sits in classic East Coast hip-hop with pronounced hardcore elements: gritty drum patterns, dominant samples, and production that shifts between dark street-level grit and spacious studio aesthetics. Individual tracks like “Invincible” clearly bear Primo’s signature, while “Bang Bang” and “Queens Finest” audibly showcase the distinct work of other beat architects; overall, the record remains committed in delivery and tone to the duo’s urban storytelling style.

Characteristic of Capone-N-Noreaga is the combination of Noreaga’s pointed, often vividly imagistic storytelling and Capone’s rough presence, which together create a high-contrast interplay. On The Reunion, prominent guest spots from Nas, Foxy Brown, Mobb Deep, and Carl Thomas, along with a producer lineup featuring DJ Premier, The Alchemist, Havoc, L.E.S., and Lord Finesse, expand the album’s style-wise range and lend the project additional weight.

Slick Rick, born Ricky Martin Lloyd Walters, is a British‑American hip‑hop artist who rose to prominence as part of Doug E. Fresh & The Get Fresh Crew in the mid 80s. Their songs “La Di Da Di” and “The Show” are widely regarded as early hip‑hop classics. His debut album, The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, featuring the signature track “Children’s Story,” was released in 1988.

Behind Bars is the third studio album by Slick Rick, released in 1994 on Def Jam Recordings. It peaked at #51 on the Billboard 200 and #11 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip‑Hop Albums chart. The album was recorded while Rick was on furlough from prison, with some tracks built around vocals recorded years earlier. Additional recording took place during a 1993 work‑release period.

The album produced two singles showcasing Slick Rick’s classic storytelling style, “Behind Bars” and “Sittin’ in My Car”. Production was handled by Warren G, Greg Nice, Paul Huston, Easy Mo Bee, and Slick Rick himself. Remixes were contributed by Pete Rock for “I’m Captive,” “Get a Job” and The Large Professor for “It’s a Boy”. Guest appearances include Nice & Smooth on “Let’s All Get Down”, Warren G on "Behind Bars" and hip-hop veteran Doug E. Fresh on "Sittin' In My Car". Influential hip-hop and lifestyle magazine Vibe praised the album, noting that “Rick’s legendary street brilliance and sparkling, charming wit can even be distilled from behind bars.”

Behind Bars is available on black vinyl and includes an insert.

With the LP “Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer,” released on Silver Age, Czarface presents the next level of their creativity while, for the most part, staying true to their style. The outfit centered around Inspectah Deck and 7L & Esoteric has always blended classic hip-hop aesthetics with a comic book–inspired narrative tone defined by striking samples, stripped-down beats, and razor-sharp rap performances. On the new release, the group maintains its tried-and-true focus on dense, concise flows and economical arrangements, while guest appearances such as Frankie Pulitzer’s expand the album’s narrative universe. Musically, the record moves within an East Coast–leaning boom-bap spectrum, complemented by occasional tempo changes and subtle production details from the established producers’ crew that carries the rhythmic core of the tracks. Lyrically, the songs connect to the project’s usual themes: references to pop culture and comics meet carefully placed punchlines and storytelling elements. Overall, “Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer” stands for a consistent continuation of Czarface’s characteristic aesthetic.

Vince Staples is one of the most revered voices of his generation. Though he's a celebrated multi-hyphenate, making an impact in TV, film & contemporary culture, music is where he most naturally pushes boundaries as an artist, storyteller & creative force. Following a string of acclaimed introspective projects, Ramona Park (a melancholic tribute to his hometown) & Dark Times (deeper, more personal themes), Cry Baby is a more outwardly facing artistic statement and piece of social commentary. Pressed on baby pink vinyl with bonus track included.

Limited edition (100) on gold vinyl with black marbling, available exclusively at HHV.

The gold-and-black-marbled colored vinyl edition of the "The Book Of Shabazz II (Missing Scrollz)" LP by Shabazz The Disciple was released on Hip Hop Enterprise and collects the artist’s solo recordings that were not included on the first volume. The compilation focuses on material recorded predominantly in the 1990s and serves as a companion chapter to the first collection (“Missing Scrollz”), with a selection that emphasizes the gritty, unpolished character of the early cuts.

Shabazz The Disciple has established himself as one of the darker, more esoteric voices within the extended Wu-Tang orbit; his style weaves together apocalyptic imagery, spiritual symbolism, and densely layered narratives that clearly stand apart from conventional street portrayals. Classics like "Crime Saga" continue to shape the perception of his influence in the underground to this day.

Sonically, the compilation features production by Carlos “C12” Bess, Freestyle (The Arsonists), Irfane, Dropsect, and other collaborators; the release comes as a gatefold LP with hype sticker and uses dedicated masters for vinyl and CD. Another feature is a track-by-track commentary by Shabazz himself, complemented by artwork by simonoetanglxd and mastering credits that underscore the historical dimension of this addendum to the artist’s career.

Limited edition of 100 copies on transparent purple vinyl, available exclusively at HHV.

The colored vinyl edition of the “Trapper's Alley 3: Hell or High Water HHV Exclusive Transparent Purple Vinyl Edition” LP by Boldy James & Nicholas Craven has been released on Near Mint.

On this three-part project, Boldy James once again remains true to his laconic narrative style; his voice and the precise, unadorned imagery define the songs and firmly anchor them in street-oriented gangsta rap. Nicholas Craven provides the instrumental foundation: carefully layered samples, dark loops, and a stripped-back, sometimes seemingly drumless production that directs attention to Boldy’s density and timing.

The collaboration fits logically into the line of earlier Craven productions and underscores the duo’s artistic continuity; recurring themes and the uncompromising atmosphere of the Trapper's Alley series are carried forward here. The advance single “Summer’s Eve” serves as a signpost, offering a clear idea of the album’s sonic direction.

Overall, “Trapper's Alley 3” combines Boldy James’s narrative precision with Nicholas Craven’s minimally dense production approach, resulting in a focused, character-rich chapter in the duo’s shared body of work.

The “1st Class” LP by Large Professor was released on High Rise and marks the first official reissue of an album that achieved cult status in the early-2000s New York underground scene. This new edition makes a long hard-to-find record accessible again and brings Extra P’s productions back to vinyl in a form that really suits the medium.

Originally released in 2002 on Matador, the album presents Large Professor in full maturity as both a skilled producer and MC. His productions draw on classic elements of East Coast boom bap: dense layers of samples, hard-hitting drums, and concise breaks that provide the rhythmic framework for his restrained yet precise rap vocabulary.

The record is characterized by its prominent guest appearances: Nas, Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, and Akinyele show up on individual tracks as complementary voices, adding sharp accents within the song structures. These collaborations underscore Large Professor’s ties to the classic New York scene and give the album additional dramatic high points.

The fact that original pressings were barely affordable for years made the album highly sought after among collectors; this newly issued re-release answers that exact demand and allows both listeners and collectors alike to reassess a low-key classic of the era. Musically, “1st Class” remains a prime example of sample-based craftsmanship and producer-MC aesthetic.

"Originally released during the peak of Busta Rhymes' breakthrough era, ""Dangerous (Soul Society Remix)"" is one of the most sought-after alternative versions of the classic hit taken from the platinum-selling album When Disaster Strikes.... The remix delivers a heavier, club-oriented production while preserving the explosive energy, rapid-fire flow, and unmistakable charisma that established Busta Rhymes as one of hip-hop's most innovative artists of the late 1990s.

The Soul Society Remix became particularly popular among DJs and collectors thanks to its powerful bassline, built around the officially licensed sample of Queen's ""Another One Bites the Dust"", its undeniable dancefloor appeal, and its distinctive reinterpretation of the original track. Combining hard-hitting beats, a strong soulful chorus performed by Lalomie Washburn, and Busta's commanding vocal delivery, the remix perfectly captures the crossover sound that dominated urban clubs and radio playlists throughout the late '90s.

With this newly remastered version, the track sounds fresher and more relevant than ever, proving its timeless appeal for both longtime fans and a new generation of listeners.

A standout example of hip-hop remix culture, ""Dangerous (Soul Society Remix)"" remains a favorite among fans of classic East Coast rap, golden-era club remixes, and collectors of rare Busta Rhymes releases. The track showcases the creative remix approach that helped extend the success of the original single and further cemented Busta Rhymes' reputation as one of hip-hop's most dynamic and influential performers.

A cold sermon for warm-blooded sinners, Blasphemy pairs Ras Kass’ razor-edged theology with Apollo Brown’s sepia-toned soul loops—an album that feels like scripture rewritten in graffiti and gunpowder. Brown constructs a chapel out of dust-scratched vinyl: ironclad drums, gospel fragments, horns that sound like they’ve survived too many winters. Over that cathedral of grit, Ras Kass steps in like a rogue prophet, dismantling mythologies with scholar-level precision and West Coast snarl. His verses slice through religion, race, politics, and personal apocalypse—part history lecture, part street-corner sermon, part heretic’s prayer.

Guest appearances—Pharoahe Monch, Royce da 5’9”, Xzibit, Sean Price and more—arrive like fellow priests of the unholy pulpit, sharpening the album’s edges without stealing its center. Blasphemy isn’t built for passive listening; it demands engagement, rewinds, and maybe even a dictionary. But beneath the intellectual shrapnel is feeling, too: bruised pride, survival-mode clarity, the restless search for truth in a world addicted to lies.

This is boom-bap as moral reckoning. A dusty-fingered gospel for those who don’t trust institutions but still crave meaning. A record that questions everything yet stands solid in its craft—Detroit drums welded to L.A. lyricism, both beating against the sanctimonious and the hypocritical with equal force.

Blasphemy is not here to comfort you. It’s here to wake you up.

The "Krs-One" by KRS-One presents the New York rapper’s self-titled solo album entry as an LP on Sony and bundles the musical ethos that defines him as a mediator of knowledge and an advocate of direct, boom‑bap‑oriented hip‑hop. Released in 1995, the record stands in the tradition of harder East Coast productions and delivers punchy beats with sharp, lyrically dense rhymes.

Style-wise, KRS‑One moves between classic boom‑bap and politically driven street rap; his voice and delivery shape the overall impression, while the arrangements leave room for distinctive scratches and loop-based sample work. The record features a host of renowned producers, including DJ Premier, Diamond D, Showbiz, Norty Cotto, and KRS‑One himself, resulting in a varied yet confident production palette. Guest spots from Busta Rhymes, Das EFX, Fat Joe, and Channel Live add further highlights.

The songs range from combative battle tracks to explicitly political cuts; the record addresses social issues and self-empowerment in equal measure without sacrificing groove. The combination of didactic ambition and street-level urgency makes "Krs-One" a striking document of the mid‑’90s and a central chapter in the work of KRS‑One.

The "Unholy Terror Crown Jewel Edition Colored Vinyl Edition" by Army Of The Pharaohs is released on the Iron Tusk label and brings the group's collaboration, known for its gritty sonic aesthetic, to a physical format. The LP compiles the versions documented on the expanded Crown Jewel edition, augmented by remixes and additional takes, committing the dense arrangements to colored vinyl. The result is a striking edition aimed at both collectors and listeners.

Style-wise, Army Of The Pharaohs operate in the realm of hardcore hip-hop with pronounced horrorcore elements; defining features include dark, sample-driven beats and aggressive, collectively delivered vocals. The group is a loosely organized collective centered around Vinnie Paz, whose members contribute diverse solo careers and production backgrounds, giving the sound a heterogeneous yet focused character. Characteristic traits include the dense flow of the rap passages and the theatrical instrumentation that structures the arrangements.

A roster of well-known producers from the crew's orbit is responsible for the recording: Crown, Apathy, Celph Titled, DJ Kwestion, Grand Finale, Vanderslice, DC the Midi Alien and others contribute beats and mixing. The expanded editions include, alongside the album versions, remixes such as "Prisoner (Remix)" or "Burn You Alive (Remix)," which reimagine the material and emphasize the production's multi-layered nature.

Released on Gentleman's Relief, the double-CD set "Broken Cyphers (The Anthology)" by The Dereliks assembles a 33-track retrospective of material recorded between 1992 and 1997. The compilation is based on reworked archival recordings restored from the original sources and presents early EPs, demos, and previously unreleased cuts in a compact edition; the run is limited to 300 copies.

The Dereliks, the San Jose duo of MC Iz and DJ Hen Boogie, represent a warm, jazz-leaning West Coast hip-hop sound that combines lyrical prowess with organic beats. Characteristic are fluid flows, well-crafted sample arrangements, and a clear emphasis on song structure, creating clear connections to early Hieroglyphics crews and the Native Tongues aesthetic.

Musically, the anthology ranges from concise tracks to extended cuts and includes contributions from producers such as Topspin and D-Styles, who leave their mark on individual numbers. The edition documents the group’s range between old-school spirit and a laid-back jazz feel; lyrics and beats testify to a strong local grounding in the Bay Area scene. For listeners interested in open-minded, handcrafted ’90s hip-hop, this double CD stands as a carefully curated survey.

The LP “It Seems Kinda Strange” by Under Achieva'z, released on Most Wanted, brings a work that originally came out in 1996 in a very small cassette run back to vinyl for the first time and has been fully remastered for this edition. The release includes the previously unreleased track “Streetz 2 Da Stage” as well as two instrumental versions; all tracks were sourced from the original DAT master and restored for the reissue. The album is officially re-released and distributed through MWR/Most Wanted.

Musically, “It Seems Kinda Strange” is clearly rooted in classic boom-bap: distinctive, sample-based beats, pronounced snare and kick patterns, and a stripped-down yet impactful arrangement define the sound. Under Achieva'z, an underground crew from Washington, stands out with sober, street-level lyrics and a strong emphasis on flow and rhythm; the songs combine locally grounded storytelling with the typical stack of loop, break, and punchy drums.

Beyond the improved sound resolution provided by the remastering, the edition offers additional insight into the creation of the album: the instrumentals open up new perspectives on the production work, while the unreleased song adds to the historical picture of the group. For collectors and listeners interested in the 1990s scene and Washington’s underground, this release documents a chapter that has so far been difficult to access.

The LP "Doe Or Die III HHV Exclusive Green Doe Colored Vinyl Edition" by AZ continues the narrative and sonic arc of the earlier entries in the series, linking classic East Coast hip-hop with modern production approaches. The record leans on dense, often cinematic beats and puts the focus on storytelling strengths, with AZ’s smooth, precise delivery carrying the arrangements. Style-wise, the release moves between boom-bap aesthetics and contemporary precision; tempo shifts and subtle orchestral and sample layers create a dense but not overloaded atmosphere.

Key features of the production are the collaboration with renowned producers and the prominent guest appearances that reinforce the songs’ dramatic arc. Released on Mass Appeal, it fits directly into AZ’s more recent discography, with the tracks thematically tying into the mafioso-tinged narrative tradition of the series. The compact running time and focused song selection underline the album’s narrative intent, combining classic rap craftsmanship with contemporary production.

Including a 20-page photo booklet by Robert Winter.

FloFilz’s new album Hagaki is a musical love letter to Japan—a sonic travel log that blends jazz and beats with Japanese music and culture. Recorded in both Berlin and Tokyo, FloFilz invited fellow musicians, beatmakers, and singers such as Takuya Kuroda, Nao Yoshioka, Toshiki Soejima, Budamunk, and Matt Wilde to join him on his journey. Acclaimed music and travel photographer Robert Winter was responsible for the outstanding visuals that accompany the album.

In 2014, FloFilz and Melting Pot Music launched an album series that explores the culture, vibe, and landscape of cities he loves—both musically and visually. The visual side is handled by Robert Winter, a well-known music and travel photographer immersed in Germany’s hip-hop and beat producer scene. For the first album, Metronom, FloFilz, Robert Winter, and Melting Pot Music founder Olski traveled to Paris. For Cenário (2016) and Transit (2019), they visited Lisbon and London. Each album is released as a high-quality gatefold edition and includes a 20-page photo book.

For Hagaki, the fourth volume in the series, FloFilz traveled to Japan, where he spent a full month working on music and visuals. Hagaki means "postcard" in Japanese. The album is a multidisciplinary love letter and a dialogue with Japanese culture and music. FloFilz had visited Japan several times before—playing shows in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto; enjoying some of the best food he’d ever had; and discovering rare records in meticulously curated record stores. He also ventured beyond the big cities, hiking through mountains, forests, and along coastlines. These experiences deepened his appreciation for how Japanese culture emphasizes harmony with nature. The attention to detail and sincerity found in Japanese art and craftsmanship are qualities that also define FloFilz's approach to music-making.

Hagaki is dedicated to Tokyo, the Japanese capital and the most populous city in the world, with over 37 million residents. FloFilz, Robert Winter, and Olski immersed themselves in the city and its culture. They visited jazz joints, ramen shops, record stores, tea houses, temples—and even more record stores. They attended performances by local jazz artists like Uyama Hiroto and Manchester’s own Matthew Halsall at the iconic Blue Note club. FloFilz performed at the Jazzy Sport x Roland Anniversary Party and was invited by Ella Records for a DJ set and an in-depth video interview about record culture and digging.

The LP Let It Be Known by Spice 1, released on Rrc Music, sits at a turning point in his early output, fusing the raw street energy of his independent Bay Area beginnings with the darker, more polished sound that defined early‑’90s West Coast gangsta rap. The compilation lays bare the foundations that made Spice 1 a respected voice in the scene and puts the early arrangements and production choices center stage.

Robert Lee Green Jr., known as Spice 1, grew up in the Hayward/Oakland area and, with his concise, straight‑ahead delivery, played a major role in shaping a distinct East Bay sound. His style is marked by sober depictions of reality, vivid street‑storytelling elements, and an undercurrent of paranoia in the lyrics. The EP was largely produced by Ant Banks, whose arrangements provide the hard, bass‑heavy framework in which Spice 1’s voice is especially effective.

The selection gathers early versions of tracks that would later become cornerstones of his catalog; titles like “Ghetto Thang,” “187 Proof,” and “In My Neighborhood” show how fully formed his sonic vision already was from the start. For collectors and longtime followers, this LP offers a look at the raw material of a key chapter in Northern California rap history and documents the emergence of a distinct artistic profile.

After years of whispers, the once-mythical album from Wu-Tang affiliates KGB (Klik Ga Bow) is finally getting an official release. Emerging from Coney Island, the crew began with Asiatic (Adriatic), DJ Kin (Kinny Kin), and Ill Knob (Knowledge), later expanding with Raheem & Red/Infa-Red. In the late ’90s, they carved out a reputation in the underground—merging Wu-Tang’s raw edge with Brooklyn’s unforgiving lyrical style. The group moved within the same orbit as Deadly Venoms and MMO, managed by John “Mook” Gibbons under the Wu-Tang/Protect Ya Neck Records banner. They were part of the early Poison Clan Posse, a Wu-linked collective that never fully stepped into the spotlight despite its potential. Now their long-lost full album called Win, Lose or Draw is finally getting, and for the first time ever, a proper Vinyl (2LP, Album), CD (Glass mastering/Pro Press) & Cassette Tape format release. This album contains several mid 90's KGB unreleased tracks and a couple of songs taken from their 12"s, all of this material recorded between 94 and 96 was supposed to be used for their Win, Lose or Draw unreleased album, we also added some bonus tracks to make it a 15 track project.

It's only appropriate that Xzibit's highly anticipated, and often-delayed, Restless concluded hip-hop's millennial melting pot. After all, Xzibit's association with Dr. Dre and his Aftermath regime attached very lofty expectations to Restless; X was publicly anointed as the next Sc expected to blow up. Surely, with Dre as executive producer and guest shots from Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Dre himself, Xzibit was virtually assured of acquiring the mainstream success that eluded him on previous efforts (At The speed Of Life 40 dayz & 40 nightz). Thanks largely to Dre's knob-twisting input, Restless became aural kin to Dre's own 2001 comeback vehicle, as the head-nod factor is immediately established on "Front To Back," the heavenly synth stabs "X," and "Get Your Walk On."Tthe main flaw in Restless' formula lies primarily with Xzibit's extensive list of guest collaborators. While contributions from Dre ("U Know"), Snoop ("D.N.A."), and Eminem ("Don't Approach Me") are all welcomed, appearances from DJ Quik and KRS-One, among many others, take the focus off Xzibit's formidable lyrical boasting, which precludes restless from forming a desired level of cohesiveness. On "X," Xzibit pledges to "rearrange the game with my rugged sound," and he periodically delivers on that promise. However, it would have taken nothing short of a masterpiece for Xzibit to appease hip-hop's finicky masses. Marble blue vinyl.

The "Tokyohum" double LP by DJ Krush was released on DJ Krush. Rooted in Tokyo’s urban pulse, the record brings together ten tracks in which rhythmic precision and atmospheric density go hand in hand; the album follows a clear concept centered on city sounds and rhythmic fragmentation.

Musically, DJ Krush further develops his tried-and-tested foundation of instrumental hip-hop and electronic manipulation: stripped-down beats, sparse melodic fragments and expansive soundscapes create space for punchlines in the arrangements. Guest appearances by Riko Dan, MC Yallah and ELIM provide carefully placed accents and open up individual tracks to vocal contrasts without dominating the overall concept. Among others, "WARN DEM feat. Riko Dan" was released in advance as a single.

All tracks are produced by DJ Krush; the album was also mixed by Hiroaki Yamazaki and finalized by Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven Mastering. The physical edition comes as a 2LP pressing (45 rpm) with an E-style sleeve and an included lyric sheet that highlights the graphic work of artist TAKU OBATA. Overall, "Tokyohum" presents DJ Krush as a producer who draws on his roots in hip-hop to render urban experiences in a subtly electronic, ambient-leaning form.

Madvillainy is the debut and only studio album by Madvillain, a collaboration between legendary rapper MF DOOM (Daniel Dumile) and acclaimed producer Madlib (Otis Jackson Jr.), released on March 23, 2004 by Stones Throw Records. The album is often hailed as a masterpiece of underground hip-hop, characterized by its unconventional structure, eclectic production, and MF DOOM’s intricate, surreal lyrics.

Madvillainy was a highly anticipated project in the underground hip-hop scene, bringing together two of its most respected figures. MF DOOM, known for his complex wordplay and villainous persona, and Madlib, celebrated for his experimental and sample-heavy production, combined to create a dense, atmospheric album.
The project was recorded over several years, with Madlib working on beats while traveling and MF DOOM crafting his lyrics with a stream-of-consciousness style.
The album has a lo-fi aesthetic, featuring short, fragmented tracks, many of which do not follow traditional song structures like verses and hooks. Instead, Madvillainy is more of a collage, with some tracks acting as interludes or musical sketches.

Madlib’s production is eclectic and layered, drawing from jazz, soul, Brazilian music, obscure soundtracks, and 1970s psychedelia, creating a moody and experimental backdrop for MF DOOM’s vocals.
The album’s beats are sample-heavy, often gritty, and feature unorthodox tempos and time signatures. Madlib also uses interludes and vocal samples from obscure sources, giving the album a cinematic, almost comic book-like feel.
MF DOOM delivers his signature abstract and multi-syllabic rhymes, filled with internal rhyme schemes, pop culture references, and complex wordplay. His delivery is intentionally offbeat, which complements the nontraditional structure of the production.

Lyrically, Madvillainy is a blend of surrealism, humor, and complex storytelling. MF DOOM’s persona as the masked supervillain is ever-present, with much of the album reflecting his mischievous, sardonic view of the world.
His lyrics often appear cryptic, with layers of meaning that reward close listening. He plays with words in ways that defy conventional hip-hop norms, eschewing clear narratives in favor of dense, puzzle-like rhymes.
Themes in the album include betrayal, paranoia, and the villain’s perspective, often narrated from a detached, almost nihilistic point of view. However, DOOM’s approach is often playful, filled with irony and wit.

Key Tracks and Highlights:
"Accordion" – A minimalist, standout track where MF DOOM delivers one of his most well-known verses over a sparse accordion loop. The track captures DOOM’s style perfectly, with cryptic, tightly-packed bars and Madlib’s minimalist approach.
"Meat Grinder" – A haunting, jazz-infused beat serves as the backdrop for MF DOOM’s dense wordplay, as he raps with a stream-of-consciousness flow, dropping surreal imagery and twisted humor.
"America’s Most Blunted" (featuring Quasimoto) – A playful, weed-themed track featuring Madlib’s alter ego, Quasimoto. The track is both funky and chaotic, with vocal samples interspersed between DOOM and Quasimoto’s verses.
"Curls" – One of the shorter tracks, with a smooth, almost nostalgic beat. DOOM’s verses are filled with detailed, vivid descriptions, encapsulating his ability to turn everyday observations into poetic rhymes.
"All Caps" – Perhaps the most iconic track on the album, known for its booming beat and DOOM’s punchy, comic book-inspired verses. The title refers to MF DOOM’s alias, urging fans to spell it in all capital letters, reinforcing his larger-than-life persona.
"Rhinestone Cowboy" – The album’s closer, featuring a soulful, downtempo beat and some of DOOM’s most introspective and reflective lyrics. It’s a contemplative end to an otherwise chaotic and fragmented album.

Madvillainy is a nonlinear album, with many of the tracks flowing directly into each other without clear transitions. It’s constructed more like a sonic collage, making the album feel like a continuous, abstract narrative rather than a collection of separate songs.
The album contains numerous interludes and brief tracks, some less than a minute long, but all contributing to the overall mood and atmosphere. Tracks like "Sickfit" and "Do Not Fire!" are instrumental breaks that give Madlib’s production room to shine.

Upon release, Madvillainy was met with widespread critical acclaim. It was praised for its innovation, lyrical complexity, and cohesive production, with critics noting its departure from conventional hip-hop formulas.
It quickly became regarded as one of the most important and influential underground hip-hop albums of all time, with its influence extending beyond just hip-hop into broader experimental music.
MF DOOM’s and Madlib’s artistic approach on Madvillainy helped solidify their reputations as avant-garde artists, unafraid to push the boundaries of the genre.
The album is frequently included in lists of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time and is particularly beloved by fans of alternative and underground hip-hop. It has been noted for its lasting influence on the sound and style of future hip-hop artists, especially in the abstract, lo-fi, and experimental spaces.
Impact on MF DOOM and Madlib's Careers:
MF DOOM further cemented his legacy as one of hip-hop’s most enigmatic and talented lyricists. His use of the supervillain persona, combined with his intricate rhyming style, made him a cult figure in the genre.
Madlib also gained widespread recognition for his unique production style, which merged elements of hip-hop, jazz, and experimental music. His ability to create deeply layered and textured beats without sacrificing their lo-fi charm became a hallmark of his production style.
Madvillainy’s success paved the way for other projects in the underground scene and inspired a new wave of artists who saw hip-hop as a medium for abstract, avant-garde expression.

Madvillainy continues to be revered as a benchmark in underground hip-hop. Its influence can be heard in the work of countless artists, from Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creator to more experimental producers and MCs who were inspired by Madlib's and MF DOOM’s fearless approach to crafting an album.
The mystique surrounding MF DOOM, especially after his untimely death in 2020, only added to the album’s legendary status, with Madvillainy often considered his definitive work.
The album’s blend of complex lyricism, unorthodox production, and nontraditional structure helped redefine what could be done in the hip-hop genre, making it a timeless work of art.
In summary, Madvillainy is a landmark album in hip-hop, pushing the boundaries of both lyricism and production. Its influence is far-reaching, and its status as one of the greatest underground albums remains unchallenged. The partnership between MF DOOM and Madlib resulted in a project that is as dense, surreal, and captivating as it is groundbreaking.

Lord Finesse’s 1990 debut Funky Technician is a cornerstone of New York hip-hop. This limited 7-inch spotlights the Large Professor Remix of “Keep It Flowing” ft. A.G. — presented for the first time as its own dedicated release, backed by the instrumental making its vinyl debut, and housed in a heavyweight glossy jacket. Released in 1990 as Lord Finesse & DJ Mike Smooth, Funky Technician introduced Lord Finesse to the world as one of the most complete artists to emerge from the Bronx hip-hop scene. A razor-sharp MC, elite DJ, and gifted producer, Finesse arrived fully formed — his debut showcasing a command of flow, timing, and boom-bap construction that few could match. Produced largely by Diamond D, DJ Premier and Showbiz, the album stands today as a cornerstone of New York’s golden era, revered for its stripped-back grit and technical precision. In the years that followed, Finesse's reputation only grew — his production fingerprints on records by The Notorious B.I.G. and Dr. Dre, and widely credited with bringing Big L into the spotlight; to know Lord Finesse is to understand a significant thread running through the fabric of 90s hip-hop. "Keep It Flowing" was a standout from Funky Technician, featuring a then-emerging A.G. in an early connection that predated Showbiz & A.G. as an official group, and when Finesse developed remix work around the album, he brought in Large Professor — who had already delivered something extraordinary on another track from the project — to reimagine it; this 45 is the dedicated home of that remix, backed by the instrumental.

The "Prolific HHV GSA Exclusive Cobalt Blue Vinyl Edition" by Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux presents the long-guarded, previously unreleased collaborative album on LP, bringing together 15 tracks created at the creative peak of their partnership. The project was not assembled from scattered sessions, but conceived as a cohesive body of work and, according to the announcement, completed in line with Nipsey Hussle’s original vision; the release is finalized by a team of GRAMMY®‑winning peers. The singles “Reckless” and “Sacrifices” served as advance releases, already offering a glimpse of the balance between street experience and melodic sensibility.

Musically, Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux fuse the characteristic West Coast aesthetic with introspective lyricism and warm, soulful, melodic arrangements on "Prolific"; memorable hooks meet sober storytelling from everyday life, while the production leaves room for atmospheric keys and organic rhythms. The LP also documents the artistic chemistry between the two protagonists: Bino brings smooth R&B elements, while Nipsey contributes the characteristic mix of entrepreneurial drive, streetwise sharpness, and a reflective sense of self. Released via Atlantic, the record positions itself as a significant contribution to Nipsey Hussle’s body of work.

Here's something very special for the heads out there: DJ Shok stumbled upon a forgotten demo tape that contains alternate material, unreleased tracks and demo versions of the dynamic duo's prime.

Emerging from the Bronx and later rooted in Yonkers, MC Hi-Tech represents the essence of East Coast underground Hip-Hop from the 90s. Known for a handful of rare and sought-after 12" singles, his work stands out through sharp lyricism and stripped-down authenticity. Tracks like “Book Of Life,” “24/7,” or “4 Degrees For The Streets” became staples among collectors and aficionados of the era. DJ Shok, a respected figure in the underground scene, played a crucial role in shaping and preserving this legacy - handling much of the original production alongside collaborators like Jay Biz and later curating Hi-Tech’s catalog into a cohesive anthology.

Released in the winter of 1995, Dah Shinin’ introduced Smif-N-Wessun as torchbearers of the gritty, sample-driven East Coast sound that defined a generation. Backed by Da Beatminerz’ haunting, jazz-laced production and supported by their Boot Camp Clik brethren, Tek and Steele delivered a debut that was as raw as it was revolutionary — capturing the essence of mid-90s Brooklyn. Now, 30 years later, Dah Shinin’ returns in its most complete form. The 30th Anniversary Definitive Deluxe Edition brings together, for the first time in one place, the full original album, two essential remixes from Wrekonize and Sound Bwoy Buriell, and rare material, including the long-unreleased “Nuttin’ Move But Da Money,” finally available officially after years on white label. Illmatic by Nas, released on April 19, 1994, is widely considered one of the most influential albums in hip-hop history. At just 20 years old, Nas delivered a debut that set a new benchmark for rap lyricism. The album combines precise, poetic depictions of life in the Queensbridge projects with an unusually mature narrative voice for such a young artist. Nas paints vivid, documentary-like scenes of poverty, crime, ambition, and inner conflict. Because of this realism and lyrical depth, Illmatic became not only a cornerstone of East Coast hip-hop but also a work studied and referenced across generations of artists, critics, and fans.

One of the album’s defining features is its exceptional production team: DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor, Q-Tip, and L.E.S. all contribute beats, giving Illmatic a diverse yet cohesive sonic palette. The album is compact—just around 40 minutes—with not a single filler track. Each song has a distinct sound while staying rooted in classic boom-bap aesthetics, making Illmatic one of the most sonically consistent releases of its era.

The tracks are now considered milestones in rap storytelling. “N.Y. State of Mind” opens with a raw, cinematic portrayal of New York street life; “The World Is Yours” highlights Nas’s reflective and aspirational side; “One Love” is written as a letter to an incarcerated friend; and “Life’s a Bitch” features one of the most iconic guest verses of the decade from AZ. Every line feels intentional and carefully crafted, which is why the album is frequently analyzed for its technical and literary qualities.

Although Illmatic initially achieved only modest commercial success, it quickly became a critical favorite and developed a cult following. Over time, it came to be regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever made, influencing artists from Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. to J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Reissues such as Illmatic XX (2014) helped solidify its legendary status. Today, Illmatic stands as a model of lyrical precision, documentary realism, and timeless production—an album that permanently shaped the DNA of hip-hop.

Limited to 200, 100 available at HHV for Europe. My Own Worst Enemy is a collaboration between two of the most respected men in Rap — Roxbury’s Edo G & Mount Vernon, NY’s Pete Rock. Pete mailed physical beat tapes to Edo in Boston and he chose from them to
create the ode to his home “Boston” that was heard across the city shortly after the Red Sox ended their 86 year World Series drought. Contributors include Special Teamz member Jaysaun on “Just Call My Name”, “Streets Is Callin”— produced by and featuring longtime collaborator and former labelmate Diamond D and “Stop Dat” also featuring Lawtown’s Krumb Snatcha and Soul Brother #1 Pete Rock.
Ed & Pete team up again on “Right Now!”. Edo waxes poetic with his A&E partner Masta Ace on the DJ Supreme produced “Wishing” where they imagine a better world we’re all still hoping comes to fruition one day. On tracks like “Voices” and “School ‘Em” Edo G drops the bars, Pete supplies the beat and the hook — showcasing the everlasting classic appeal of a true partnership between an emcee and producer on wax. Nothing beats the chemistry between two Rap veterans who’ve mastered the art of making concise bodies of work and honed them over decades. The grand finale is the kinetic “Revolution” produced by DJ Revolution of the world famous Wake Up Show with Sway & King Tech. Reissued and remastered by Coalmine Reissues — where every detail matters — My Own Worst Enemy forever preserves in amber for future generations of Rap listeners the essence of Rap virtuosity as provided by two of the genre’s elder statesmen.

The purple vinyl edition of the “S.E.T.U.” LP by Estee Nack was released by Near Mint. The colored pressing brings the production onto a physical format that emphasizes the dense arrangements and the organic punch of the songs. The tactile quality of the medium also serves the warm, sample-based sound that links the tracks together.

The album is tightly intertwined with producer True Cipher; his beats provide the gritty boom-bap foundation on which Estee Nack’s distinctive, narrative vocals operate. Several tracks rely on rugged drum grooves, layered samples, and sparse melodic fragments, creating space for lyrics and flow. The single “Nosedive” received a visual treatment that underscores the compositional tightness and the close collaboration between MC and producer.

Estee Nack stays true to his style: a blend of street-oriented directness, dense imagery, and a keen sense of classic hip-hop aesthetics. On “S.E.T.U.” he delivers both tightly crafted punchlines and longer, reflective passages that give the album narrative depth. The purple pressing on Near Mint brings these facets together in a compact, tangible release.

“Chemistry Teraqueous” by Usephasan is a debut EP from 1997 that first showcased the talents of an emcee respected in underground circles and preceded the later album “Scienc.Esquizit.” The release stands as a compact collection of urban soundscapes that fuse classic hip-hop elements with experimental flourishes.

Musically, turntable techniques meet jazzy hip-hop and boom‑bap foundations; the arrangements shift between mid‑tempo rhythms, warm Rhodes textures, and carefully placed synthesizers. Tracks like “Desert Population (intro)” and “Cocoon Room (interlude)” work with exotic guitar and lo‑fi elements, while “Fore the Lov” and “For the Lov (Instrumental)” draw on nostalgic boom‑bap references and reverb‑soaked instrumental colors. The title track “Chemistry Teraqueous” stands out for its prominent turntable work; on “Bad As Brothers (Instrumental),” bass grooves and dreamy, sustained piano tones come to the foreground.

Lyrically, street‑level rap lines are interwoven with reflective imagery, making the EP read like a versatile calling card for the artist. For collectors and listeners, the release offers a clear look at the stylistic foundations of Usephasan’s work and lays the groundwork for his later output within the realm of influential underground compilations.

HHV exclusive vinyl edition on (color) vinyl, limited to 200 copies.

Aaah yeah! HHE is back with a huge heater! Charlemagne went in and dug up some legendary classics from the early days of Fortress Entertainment. This will be the first installment of several projects between HHE and Fortress so definitely keep an eye out for what's more to come...

The first installment will start out with a bang as we have included the tracks from the Natural Elements EP released back in 1994. At that time NE was still a 6-man crew and the legendary @brownsvilleka was an early member. In addition, we have a previously unreleased Nightbreed track; the mythical duo that consisted of KA along with Kev. Furthermore we have an early L-Swift classic, a Raidermen heater and a superb unreleased demo of female emcee Essence that was also recorded back in 1994 for 10 tracks total.

The compilation will be limited to 500 copies on vinyl and 300 CDs. The CD version will come with a bonus DVD that will feature a documentary about Fortress Entertainment! Much love and respect to @rastaross_ for creating the artwork and a major shoutout to @real_keru for the mastering.

A coast-to-coast celebration of luxury, lessons, and longevity, Life Is Beautiful unites three generational talents at the height of their crafts: Larry June, 2 Chainz, and The Alchemist. Over a collection of Alchemist’s warm, soul-soaked loops and refined production, Larry and Chainz trade bars soaked in game, gratitude, and grown-man perspective. It’s a record that marries the smooth polish of West Coast cruising with the Southern charm and swagger of Atlanta, all anchored by the smoky jazz textures and dusty drums that only Alchemist can deliver.

Each track feels like a snapshot of abundance—not just in wealth, but in wisdom. Larry coasts with his usual calm confidence, finding beauty in health, hustle, and high-grade habits, while 2 Chainz brings his trademark charisma and wit, dropping gems with the precision of a seasoned vet. Together, they offer a version of success that’s intentional and introspective, as much about self-care and staying grounded as it is about stacking wins.

From introspective slow-burners to sunlit bangers, Life Is Beautiful is a rich, unhurried listen that reflects where these three icons are now: comfortable, focused, and fully in their bag. It's a toast to growth, guided by intention—and it sounds damn good on wax.

The "Live At The Tabernackle II" LP by Estee Nack & Mike Shabb was released on Near Mint and documents the close collaboration between the rapper from Lynn, Massachusetts, and producer Mike Shabb. All tracks were produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Mike Shabb; the record brings together numerous guest features, including Stove God Cooks, Rome Streetz, AlDivino, Ankhlejohn, and Raz Fresco. The recordings preserve a raw live atmosphere, while Shabb’s dense arrangements provide clear structure.

Musically, the work operates in the Hip-Hop/Rap realm, combining classic, sample-driven beats with modern, razor-sharp rhythms. Estee Nack’s delivery shifts between stripped-down directness and densely layered imagery; thematically, the lyrics range from narrative street vignettes to more reflective moments, with the combination of distinctive rhymes and lean production defining the duo’s style. The track sequence demonstrates compact songwriting and a focus on clear song structure.

In addition to the music, the release offers consciously designed packaging: artwork by Hubbz, an obi strip by Mr. Krum, and, for the repress, revised presentation with new artwork by Patrick Doherty, 24 pt reverse-board jackets, gold-foil numbering, black inner sleeves, wrap-around Japanese obi strips, and resealable polybags. This configuration underscores the documentary character of the record and gives the LP a carefully considered physical presentation.

Hip Hop

Hip hop has long been more than simple scratches, looped breaks and MCs celebrating their DJs. Since Kool Herc’s block parties in the mid-1970s, the culture has grown and developed rapidly. Today, graffiti can be found on every corner. Breakdancing and b-boying have long since become a way of life for many. Hip hop music today is defined by an enormous variety. There is something for everyone. The Roots have been thrilling friends of virtuoso live bands for over 20 years. Old warhorses from the 1980s prove that there is no age limit for good rhymes. Exceptional artists like Pharoahe Monch or Homeboy Sandman connect generations thanks to intelligent content and clever wordplay. Many ambitious musicians also hold up the flag of German, French or British rap. There are no limits to the raps: from abstract lyricism to street prose to eloquent storytelling, everything is on offer. And more and more musical styles are influencing the world of hip hop today.

Hip Hop at HHV: the full range from A to Z

In order to do justice to Hip Hop with all its faces, we have put together a rich programme. This includes classics as well as novelties from young talents. Major productions are on the programme, but also underground releases produced in very small editions. US hip hop, German hip hop, UK hip hop and hip hop from France are represented. As well as spoken word from exotic countries. Of course, the range of our online shop also includes beats without rhymes. Exclusive releases and bundles give our offer that special spice. As long as it has to do with Hip Hop, Vinyl LPs, CDs or Tapes are always welcome. No matter if it’s an album, an EP or singles.

Hip hop, hip hop or hip hop? Anything that sounds funky is allowed.

Hip hop has never been as diverse as it is today. Labels like Mello Music Group or Redefinition evoke the spirit of the eighties and nineties. They see themselves in the tradition of self-determined record companies like Cold Chillin or Ruthless Records. Chopped Herring Records or Dope Folks have made it their business to dig up old recordings. Progressive styles of hip hop music find a home on independent labels like Stones Throw. German rap has grown up and shaken off the regional barrier. And instrumental hip hop has also played an increasingly important role in the last ten years. Not least thanks to our dear colleagues from Project: Mooncircle, who have pushed this direction massively. We have made it our task to do justice to all these facets of hip hop with our offer. From the classic to the absolute insider tip, we offer everything that has to do with eloquent rhymes or innovative beats. And with our HHV Label, we give established and up-and-coming artists the opportunity to present themselves.
