Hamburg, spring 1996. The debate over a state-mandated quota for German-language music is raging. Heinz Rudolf Kunze calls for the protection of the "German song heritage." Meanwhile, Die Sterne open their third album with the song "Scheiß auf deutsche Texte" (Screw German Lyrics). This title isn't provocation for provocation's sake—it’s a statement of intent. It’s not the language that counts, but what is being said. And what Die Sterne have to say on *Posen* is so substantial, so clever, and so captivating that it sent the country's music press into a frenzy of enthusiasm: *Musikexpress* awarded it five stars, the *Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung* found itself poring over the lyric sheet, and there was a universal consensus that Die Sterne had "never been as valuable as they are today." *Posen* is the third album from the Hamburg band led by singer and lyricist Frank Spilker—and their most mature work to date. In addition to the 80,000 sold-out tickets, an estimated further 45,000 people watched the concert from outside the stadium. Some fans even traveled from countries such as Russia and Poland to experience the band live. Given the significance of this event, it was hardly imaginable at the time that Queen would go on to play only five more concerts. Just one month later, their touring career with Freddie Mercury came to an end forever. The final concert took place on August 9, 1986 at Knebworth Park in England.

Queen Budapest is the last filmed live performance of the band with Freddie Mercury and shows Queen at the height of their powers as a live act.
