The “Gravest Gravy Mustard Vinyl Edition” by The Cramps brings together early and previously unreleased recordings made during sessions with Alex Chilton. The compilation includes early versions of well-known songs as well as several cover versions, among them takes on Paul Revere and the Raiders and Roy Orbison, alongside early studio variants that later appeared on the album “Psychedelic Jungle.” The production of the sessions stems from the collaboration with Alex Chilton, which emphasizes the raw character of the takes.

Musically, the LP displays the band’s characteristic traits: a fusion of 1950s rockabilly with garage, surf, and punk influences, combining simple, driving rhythms with distorted guitars and striking vocal lines. This blend defines the group’s specific sound and explains why early versions and unusual arrangements are of particular interest to collectors and listeners.

The revived Vengeance label is responsible for this edition; the final versions of the tracks were also reviewed and finalized by Ian MacKaye and Henry Rollins. The “Mustard Vinyl Edition” underscores the historical value of these recordings and presents them as a documentary addition to the band’s body of work, with the LP format preserving the material in its original physical form.

Evolution can be ugly and beautiful, painful and euphoric. An Undying Love For A Burning World is the first new release from Neurosis in a decade, and a potent statement of intent and rebirth - one that marks the first new steps of resolve and resilience.

An Undying Love For A Burning World is an epic album of colossal hypnotism - beautiful, fearsome and utterly compelling in a way that only Neurosis can be. Aaron Turner (Sumac, Isis) joins the band on vocals and guitar, a name whose legacy is intertwined with the band’s own and a true kindred spirit.

“From the moment I first heard Neurosis over 30 years ago, I felt this was the music my heart and mind had been seeking but not yet heard. Now after many years travelling along various musical paths of my own, the singular sound and spirit embodied by Neurosis continues to speak to the depths of my being. It is an honor and a true pleasure to have been welcomed so warmly into a band that not only shaped my perspective on the limitless possibilities of music - but has lived and exemplified the necessity of upholding creative integrity and camaraderie above all else.” - AARON TURNER

Neurosis have never been afraid of change, and here they embrace endless regeneration, surrendering to the emotional exorcism through heaviness and distortion that their music incites. Just as the universe tends towards balance, Neurosis’cacophony of noise, rhythm and dissonance always resolves towards moments of beauty. The addition of Turner's powerful vocals and wildly creative and unhinged approach to guitar proves to be a vital force as Neurosis find themselves again at the mercy of evolution and expression.

On every song in the band’s history, Neurosis shifts restlessly between tension and relief, invoking a feeling both feral and transcendent in listeners. The band describe their songwriting process as an inescapable impulse to create with each other - a need rather than a choice. Indeed, the band insist that their return is “not a reunion - we never broke up.”

The album was recorded by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City, Sumac, and Great Falls) at Studio Litho in Seattle during three weekends this winter, and mixed in three days just six weeks before release at Evan's Antisleep Audio in Oakland.

Neurosis will play their first show in seven years on the traditional lands of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana as part of Fire in the Mountains festival by special invitation of Firekeeper Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to reducing youth suicide in Indian Country.

FITM, is a unique festival known for bringing epic music to epic landscapes with the intent of reconnecting and immersing oneself with the natural world, and strengthening our ancestral roots as human beings - an aim which aligns directly with Neurosis’ deep-rooted power.

Stay tuned for further news over the coming months.

Received a perfect 10 Best New Reissue rating from Pitchfork. Bikini Kill Records is excited to reissue of The Singles, on both vinyl and compact disc. This is the first time that it has been released as a 12-inch (special note for all you vinyl fanatics, we managed to keep it at 45rpm for better sound quality)! The Singles was initially released in 1998 as a CD only compilation of all of Bikini KILL's 7”s. Once called "their defining document" by Pitchfork it includes Bikini Kill's legendary collaboration with Joan Jett on the New Radio (1993) single as well as the long out of print Anti Pleasure Dissertation (1995) and I Like Fucking (1995) singles.

The “Truth Or Consequence” LP by Amyl And The Sniffers is being released on Rough Trade and doesn’t document a conventional live recording, but an intimate session that deliberately pushes the band into new territory. Recorded in the familiar setting of El Coyote in Los Angeles, Amyl And The Sniffers perform their well-known songs in stripped-down, country-inspired arrangements and add two previously unreleased tracks plus a cover of Slim Dusty’s classic “Lights On The Hill.” These renditions bring the songwriting to the forefront and show the band away from their usual high-energy rock shows in an unusually relaxed light.

“Truth Or Consequence” captures the atmosphere of a spontaneous session among friends: relaxed, playful moments alternate with clear, song-focused passages in which vocals and arrangements have an immediate impact. The release also includes an accompanying concert film with behind-the-scenes insights that visually complements the creation of the recordings. Rough Trade presents the LP as a stand-alone document of a band that reimagines popular songs and, in doing so, reveals surprising facets of its musical identity.

The LP release “Gravest Gravy” by The Cramps brings together, for the first time, recordings from the Ardent studio sessions of October 1977 that were overseen at the time by Alex Chilton and are now being made publicly available. The compilation presents early takes and previously unreleased versions of songs that would later resurface on “Psychedelic Jungle” and other releases by the band, offering insight into the formative phase of a trailblazing rock ’n’ roll underground outfit.

Musically, “Gravest Gravy” showcases the characteristic Cramps sound: a rawness that fuses rockabilly, garage, surf, and psychedelic elements, driven by Poison Ivy’s distorted guitar riffs and Lux Interior’s distinctive vocal delivery. The repertoire ranges from rough cover versions like “Hungry” and “Rocket In My Pocket” to early studio takes of “The Natives Are Restless,” “Can’t Find My Mind,” and “Rockin’ Bones,” giving the record both historical significance and documentary value.

For this edition, the original tracks from seven quarter-inch tape reels were transferred; the tapes were handled by Brian Kehew, the track selection was made in collaboration with Henry Rollins, and additional work was carried out at Inner Ear and Infrasonic Sound (with engineers and mastering brought in accordingly). The release appears on Vengeance and presents early, defining moments in the band’s history in reconstructed form.

With the 12" “Japanese New Wave On Dub 1980 - 1985,” released on Miss You, V.A. takes his creativity to the next level while, by and large, remaining true to his style. The compilation brings together tracks from the early Japanese new wave scene that are re-accentuated through a dub aesthetic, carving out a distinct intersection between post-punk, synth pop, and reggae-leaning studio experiments. Tight, concise guitar riffs and coolly deployed synthesizers are characteristic, flanked by bass-heavy arrangements, reverb and delay effects, and deliberate work on the mix that gives the songs both space and a floating quality. Many contributions combine urban melancholy with a danceable, groove-oriented drive, as producers use echo and mixing tricks to create atmospheric depth without blurring the songs’ structural clarity. For listeners interested in the interweaving of Japanese new wave and dub-inspired production approaches, this collection offers a concise and stylistically focused journey through an exciting chapter of the early Eighties.

It’s impossible to overstate the influence that Quicksand has had on the hardcore scene. Formed in New York City in 1990 out of the ashes of Gorilla Biscuits, Youth OF Today, Burn, and Bold, the band took the aggression of hardcore and added a more groove-driven crunch to it, unintentionally inventing the genre known today as post-hardcore. After releasing two major-label masterpieces in the nineties—1993’s Slip and 1995’s Manic Compression—the band split up at the peak of their powers, only to reunite in 2012 and release Interiors and Distant Populations. Inspired by a quote from scientist Carl Sagan, Bring On The Psychics, Quicksand’s first album in five years and Equal Vision Records debut, sees guitarist/vocalist Walter Schreifels examining his past through his present reality. “For this album, I was going back to a lot of my earlier influences like Break Down The Walls or Start Today,” he explains. “Regardless of whether you’re into hardcore or youth crew, they’re really cool records because they’re speaking to the time and providing possible paths to a better future … with mosh parts. That’s the energy that I wanted to bring to this.” From the hook-driven heaviness of the opener “Get To It” to the shoegaze splendor of “Crystallize,” the band covers a lot of sonic ground on Bring On The Psychics, but it always sounds like Quicksand. Its technical virtuosity is on full display here as well, from bassist Sergio Vega’s locked-in bass grooves on “Cool Guy” to Alan Cage’s dynamic drumming on the album’s title track. The band also stretched out musically on the album as evidenced by the breezy ballad “Days You Run To,” a song that might even surprise longtime fans. “To me, that is the kind of thing that Fugazi would do on their more chill kind of tunes,” Schreifels says of the laid-back feel of the aforementioned track. “It’s nice to have something that was more expansive to show the Pink Floyd side of Quicksand.” That aspect of the band has never been a secret; anyone who has seen the band’s psychedelic light show can attest to that consciousness-expanding vibe. Bring On The Psychics just sees the band encapsulating their creative vision in a fully, more integrated manner. “I’m really psyched to play these songs live,” Schreifels summarizes. “I feel really fortunate to still be playing music with these guys and be able to take it to different places.”

The Yellow Vinyl Edition of the NOFX LP “Wolves In Wolves Clothing” is released by Fat Wreck Chords and brings back the band’s tenth studio album, originally issued in 2006, as a colored reissue. The record gathers the compact, pointed songs from the album and, with tracks like “Seeing Double At The Triple Rock,” “Leaving Jesusland,” and “Doornails,” offers a cross-section of the thematic range of NOFX.

Musically, the release moves within the band’s established tension between fast punk rock and a melodic hardcore style: driving guitars, punchy drum work, and multi-part vocal lines combine with sarcastic, at times thoughtful lyrics. Some tracks also display quieter, more introspective traits, giving the album room for both direct political provocation and more personal moments.

For the recordings, NOFX worked with producers Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore as well as band founder Fat Mike; according to the credits, the sessions took place in and around Motor Studios in San Francisco. The production relies on clear, powerful arrangements that bring out the signature NOFX sound — rapid playing, melodic hooks, and biting, ironic lyrics — in a clean and focused way.

The colored vinyl edition of the *Last Temptation Of Reid* LP by Lard is being released on Alternative Tentacles, bringing the work, first issued in 1990, back in a fully revised form. The reissue was remastered under the personal supervision of Jello Biafra after the project had been delayed multiple times and test pressings reworked; each copy also includes a one-sided 12" pressing of “I Am Your Clock” as a bonus.

Musically, Lard combines industrial metal elements with a raw punk attitude, biting political critique, and dark humor; the result remains every bit as biting as it is abrasive. Classics like “Forkboy,” which later appeared on the *Natural Born Killers* soundtrack, alongside “Pineapple Face,” “Drug Raid at 4 AM,” and the unusual rendition of “They’re Coming to Take Me Away,” embody the confrontational blend of noise, rhythm, and sarcastic punchlines. The track sequence and unconventional arrangements underscore the album’s uncompromising character.

Behind the sound are Jello Biafra and Ministry leaders Al Jourgensen and Paul Barker, joined by musicians such as Jeff Ward and William Rieflin; the production fuses programmed, metallic grooves with solid guitars and precise drumming. This reissue presents the record with clearer, more powerful sound without diluting Lard’s rebellious attitude.

The colored vinyl edition of the “Hoss” LP by Lagwagon is released by Fat Wreck Chords and presents the band’s third album in a new pressing.

“Hoss” is regarded as a defining example of melodic skate/pop punk: Joey Cape is responsible for writing all the songs, combining short, catchy structures with driving guitars. Stand-out tracks like “Razor Burn,” “Move the Car,” and “Bombs Away” showcase the blend of speed, melody, and clear choruses that still characterizes the record today.

The album’s lineup features Joey Cape (vocals), Shawn Dewey and Chris Flippin (guitars), Jesse Buglione (bass), and Derrick Plourde (drums). The album was produced by Ryan Greene, with mastering by Eddie Schreier. This combination delivers precise, punchy production that gives the arrangements clear definition.

The colored vinyl edition offers fans and newcomers a tangible version of this milestone from the Fat Wreck catalog and once again puts the tight, melody-focused songs front and center. The release stays true to the original song structures and the energetic playing style that helped define Lagwagon.

The “With Love // With Rage” EP by Initiate is released on Blue Grape Music and brings together five songs that move between a direct hardcore approach and more melodic passages. The release includes the single “Numb The Pain” as well as tracks like “Burn After Reading” and “Future Saving Grace,” with the band deliberately tailoring the pieces to short, tight arrangements.

On this record, Initiate explore the tension between rage and tenderness: serrated riffs and breakdown-oriented moments collide with shimmering clean guitars, multi-layered vocal passages, and occasional keyboard-like textures. Style-wise, the band weaves together elements of hardcore, melodic hardcore, and post-hardcore, citing influences that range from Deftones to Hum; this combination gives the compositions both bite and a sense of spatial harmony.

For the production, Initiate brought in seasoned producer Zach Tuch, who took the lead on the recording sessions; the band expanded its sonic palette with new instrumental contributions from the vocalist, adding depth to the songwriting. Overall, the EP on Blue Grape Music presents a clearly defined artistic stance: raw intensity meets melodic care, marking Initiate as a band with a wide spectrum of expressive possibilities.

Released on Vengeance, the LP "Gravest Gravy" by The Cramps brings together early recordings from the Ardent Studios in Memphis, made in October 1977, which were not fully released at the time. This collection now assembles those raw studio versions for the first time, offering a direct glimpse into the formative phase of the band, whose sound drew on rockabilly, garage, surf, and ’60s punk.

Musically, "Gravest Gravy" showcases the group’s characteristic relationship to classic song forms: concise, driving rhythms, distorted surf guitars, and vocals that oscillate between theatrical exaggeration and noir aesthetics. The record features early versions of tracks that later appeared on "Psychedelic Jungle," as well as reworked covers like "Hungry," "Problem Child," and "Rocket In My Pocket," which clearly highlight the band’s eclectic range of influences.

Special aspects of this release lie in the restoration and mixing work: the tapes were transferred by Brian Kehew, the track selection was made by Henry Rollins; Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara contributed technical work at Inner Ear Studio, and Pete Lyman handled the mastering. The edition thus documents not only early compositions, but also the subsequent curatorial work of notable scene veterans.

“We learn to speak from people, and to be silent from gods.” – Plutarch

Truck Violence’s second full length record, The weathervane is my body, is an attempt to answer, an attempt at conciliation through refusal.

Karsyn Henderson and Paul Lecours grew up in a French Canadian town of six hundred people, graduating in a class of nine. By fifteen they were running a local studio and radio station. There was no industry support, no infrastructure, no template for what they were trying to do, only the work itself and the conviction that it was worth doing.

At seventeen they relocated to Montreal, joined by Chris Clegg and Thomas Hart, assembled from different corners of the country, and began building Truck Violence from the ground up. The weathervane is my body, the band’s second full-length record and first with San Francisco’s The Flenser, is the product of that process. Every element reflects this. The group composition, the recording, the mixing and the visual media were all produced in house without outside intervention. DIY here is not an aesthetic choice or a marketing angle, it is the only honest option available.

The album cover was shot on film by the band on Avenue du Parc in Montreal. A figure perches atop a small Quebecois-style house, handbuilt from reclaimed materials, spine curved, legs pulled in, bare-backed against a skyline that dwarfs everything beneath it. A rural thing dropped into the grit of the city, small and out of place and refusing to disappear. The body is naked and defenseless, open to every stimulus the world cares to deliver. This is the album in a single image.

The weathervane is my body is a continuation, an expansion, a further scribbling together of that angry statement of purpose that is their debut album, aptly titled Violence. Rooted in the noise rock and post-hardcore traditions, and steeped in a DIY ethic that runs deep in Canadian underground culture, the record is uncompromising in its refusal to be anything other than what it is: immediate, self-determined, and built entirely by the hands that imagined it.

WARNING! WARNING! This is an emergency announcement going out to the entire Aggro-Nation and the entire world: The Aggrolites are BACK with their all-new LP Super Atomic on Pirates Press Records!

In the years since the release of 2019's Reggae Now!, LA's finest purveyors of Dirty Reggae have been on the road non-stop, circling the globe and spreading the Aggro Sound to a world that sorely needs it. "Since Reggae Now!, our band has stayed committed to live entertainment", says lead singer Jesse Wagner. "Refining our musical chemistry and continuing to carry the torch for Dirty Reggae".

With their famously tight playing thus sharpened to a razor's edge from touring, the band entered the studio for the long-awaited follow up to their beloved comeback record bigger and more intentional than ever, and armed with lyrics balancing grit and uplift, weight and light.

The band pushed each other creatively. Recording felt less like experimentation and more like execution. Every part had to earn its place. The songs were written to hit hard live - that energy guided everything. "We trust the groove", remarks Jesse. "That's always been our compass".

Sonically, Super Atomic leans into high-energy grooves while still leaving space for melody and hooks. The band approached this record with more clarity and confidence than ever before.

Lead single "Till the Wheels Fall Off" is a perfect example. "[The song] is about commitment - to the grind, to the music, to the vision. It's all gas, no brakes, says Jesse, adding, "That song captures our live energy better than anything we've done. It's a ride-or-die anthem. Keep going, no matter what".

Meanwhile, Jesse says that "Musical Muse" is "a love letter unknowingly becoming a song dedicated to the one thing that keeps you creating. It felt like the words were being given to me. That's why it says, 'You write for me the sweetest song'. That line is literal".

Super Atomic by The Aggrolites will be blowing up your speakers soon!

Orange County"s Social Distortion returns with its first album in 15 years with Born to Kill. Armed with 11 urgent songs, Mike Ness continues to build on the mystique that Social Distortion is more than just a punk band. Throughout the collection, Ness revisits the sounds of the 1970s, his formative adolescent years. Born to Kill is a continuation of the bar of excellence that Social Distortion and, in turn, Ness has long been praised for. Born to Kill is a body of work that will live long in the Social Distortion catalog. Songs like the hard-charging title track that serves as the album"s mission statement, along with the riff-laden "Partners in Crime," the nostalgic "The Way Things Were," and rollicking "Tonight" are songs that fit in across any of Social Distortion"s various eras. Now nearly five decades into its career and with a remarkable catalog spanning nearly three generations, Social Distortion has no intention of slowing down any time soon.

After the anthemic albums “Something’s Gotta Give”, “Riot, Riot, Upstart” and “Dead Yuppies” you could (more or less) say that AGNOSTIC FRONT returned with a blast through the album that followed; “ANOTHER VOICE”! Originally released by Nuclear Blast Records in 2004, the New York hardcore legends created furious, no holds barred, metallic-influenced mayhem, produced by Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta. Due to it’s producer, who also provided some guest vocals on ‘Another Voice’ (as did Karl Buechner of Earth Crisis and Scott Vogel of Terror), the album leaned a bit to the ‘metalcore’ side of things, but it’s still 100% Agnostic Front through and through! Reissued under exclusive license from Atomic Fire GmbH.

The colored vinyl edition of the "Tell Me Your Dream" LP by Ceremony was released on Relapse and presents the California band’s seventh album, which channels their punk-rooted energy into a broader sonic spectrum. The record moves between stripped-down hardcore power and dark post-punk atmosphere without losing its uncompromising directness.

On this record, Ceremony repeatedly emerges as a collective that fuses political sharpness with personal conflict; thematically, the lyrics range from open indictments of the logic of war to introspective moments. Musically, you can hear influences from anarcho-punk sources such as Discharge and Crass, as well as contemporary, driving rhythms and occasional synthesizer elements, so the songs oscillate between brutal eruptions and reflective interludes.

Key features of the release are the lineup — Ross Farrar (vocals), Anthony Anzaldo (guitar/keyboards), Andy Nelson (guitar), Justin Davis (bass), and Jake Casarotti (drums) — and the production by John Reis, which gives the songs sharp contours and palpable impact. Within a tight framework, the ten tracks unfold a dense dramatic arc that succinctly brings together the band’s long history.

The "Greatest Hits Vol. 2 Blue Vinyl Edition" by Cockney Rejects on Cadiz Music presents the material from the band’s second album in a colored LP edition, bringing together the raw, direct tracks that defined the group’s early phase. This vinyl release focuses on short, concise songs fueled by punk energy, offering a compact overview of the songwriting from those years.

Cockney Rejects stand for street-level punk with clear Oi! roots; their trademarks are sing-along choruses, stripped-down guitar riffs, and an attitude shaped by East London’s working-class culture. The band combines simple, catchy melodies with a rough edge that stretches from stadium-ready choruses to short, aggressive tunes. These elements make the style of Cockney Rejects unmistakable.

The record includes classics such as "The Greatest Cockney Rip Off," "The Rocker," and "Oi! Oi! Oi!," which cover a spectrum from provocative irony to pure street power. The lineup on these recordings is documented in the band’s chronicle, naming the key members whose interplay shapes the rough sonic aesthetic. As a reissue by Cadiz Music, the blue vinyl edition offers a new physical presentation of these early songs on LP.

On June 16, 2025, I saw this UK Subs multi-track demo tape for sale on eBay, of all places. I got it and sent a photo of the front cover of the tape box, which informs the back cover of this 12" to Pete Davies to see what he might remember. He said it looked legit. I took the tape to Infrasonic Sound, a great studio in Nashville, Tennessee and asked engineer Pete Lyman if he could transfer the tape. Days later, he sent Ian MacKaye and I a rough mix of the session. I was stoked to hear that three of the four tracks were unreleased. I contacted Ian and suggested we take the tracks to Don Zientara's Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia (where we made our first records decades ago) to mix them. On September 30 there we were with Don. Due to the tracks being so well recorded, and the band playing so incredibly, our first mix began to take shape very quickly. Part way into the session, Eddie Janney (Untouchables, Faith, Rites Of Spring, One Last Wish, Happy Go Licky, Skewbald) arrived to sit in and we had another Subs fan in attendance. Together, we finished mixing the last two tracks. We brought the mixes to Pete Lyman for mastering. I wrote Charlie and asked his permission to unleash the tracks and he said go ahead. So, here we are with three unreleased UK Subs tunes and a new mix of "Same Thing". Studio kicks, indeed! These songs are finally where they should be-with you. - Henry

Ten years ago, in a sharehouse on Chapel Street, four 20-year-olds with zero expectations wrote and recorded an EP in a single afternoon. Those six blistering minutes of music became Giddy Up. An hour later, Amyl and The Sniffers had a name, a Bandcamp upload, and the beginnings of a legacy.
Following a year of backyard gigs, playing for friends and partying across Melbourne's sticky carpet music scene, the band released their iconic second EP Big Attraction in 2017.
Now, to celebrate a decade of raw power and reckless spirit, Giddy Up/Big Attraction returns in a definitive 10th anniversary 12-inch vinyl edition — fully remastered for maximum punch.
Featuring early classics like “I’m Not A Loser” and “Stole My Pushbike,” plus enduring live favourites “Balaclava Lover Boogie” and “Westgate,” this is the sound of Amyl and The Sniffers before the world caught up — feral, funny, and unstoppable.
The LP is housed in a gatefold sleeve showcasing Chris Sutherland’s iconic 2017 band photo, alongside an exclusive new essay from Amy Taylor and a heap of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes shots from the band’s earliest days by Jamie Wdziekonski. As Amy recalls: “We recorded and wrote over the afternoon… we’d never played together before that day… it’s spontaneous, and fun and achievable in that time because to us it sounded more than good and we weren’t perfectionists and it didn’t matter.”
From DIY house shows in Melbourne to international stages, it all started here.

The Blue Marble Vinyl Edition of the “The Argument” LP by Fugazi is being released on Dischord and presents the band’s sixth studio album in a newly reissued pressing. This edition brings the record’s dense, multilayered material into a carefully produced format and is aimed at listeners who value clear mixing and nuanced arrangements.

With “The Argument,” released in 2001, Fugazi delivered a work that combines the energy of their earlier albums with more subtle layers of sound; the record features eleven tracks that move between immediate impact and more open melodicism. The album also marks the band’s first studio release since “End Hits” and showcases expanded song structures that leave room for dynamic breaks and melodic development.

The album was recorded with Don Zientara at the legendary Inner Ear Studios; Zientara and Fugazi share responsibility for production and mixing. Particularly striking is the inclusion of additional voices and percussion: longtime roadie Jerry Busher appears on studio recordings for the first time as a second drummer and percussionist, joined by contributions from other guest musicians who broaden the album’s textural range. These production choices underscore Fugazi’s ambition to unite raw intensity with fine sonic detail.

The Salmon Vinyl Edition of the "Minor Threat (First 2 7"s) Salmon Vinyl With Pink Jacket Edition" LP by Minor Threat is being released on Dischord.

The release compiles the band’s early Dischord singles in a newly remastered reissue; the collection includes the two original EPs and brings the short, punchy tracks back to vinyl with updated sound. The recordings were made in the context of the early Washington, D.C. scene and reflect the raw production aesthetic of that era, with sharp guitar riffs, stripped-down arrangements, and direct, hard-hitting drum work.

Minor Threat are regarded as a defining voice of Washington, D.C. hardcore punk; vocalist Ian MacKaye, guitarist Lyle Preslar, bassist Brian Baker, and drummer Jeff Nelson helped shape an ethos with songs like "Straight Edge" and "In My Eyes" that has resonated far beyond the tracks themselves. The songs thrive on speed and concision, lyrically shifting between personal statements and social observations; the compact format of the tracks makes the band’s energy feel immediate. This reissue thus offers a documented retrospective on an early cornerstone of the scene.

“OST 40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up” by NOFX collects the soundtrack and accompanying score to the documentary of the same name on a single LP; it was released via Fat Wreck Chords in May 2026. The compilation brings together vocal tracks by the band and instrumental score material, creating a sonic counterpart to the film’s retrospective look at four decades of band history.

Musically, the material clearly sits within NOFX’s punk rock spectrum: short, punchy songs with melodic vocal lines, cutting guitars, and driving drums meet atmospheric interludes from the film score. Characteristic for the band are the biting wit of the lyrics and the blend of skate punk tempos with catchy choruses, which makes their style unmistakable. On this release, NOFX appears in the lineup of Fat Mike, Eric Melvin, Erik Sandin, and Aaron “El Hefe” Abeyta.

As a special feature, the LP includes not only songs but also originally composed score segments overseen in large part by Fat Mike, resulting in a cohesive sound that supports the film’s narrative arc. The release is thus of interest both to longtime fans of the band and to listeners curious about the intersection between punk songs and film music.

The "Health And Efficiency" LP by This Heat is released on This Heat. The release, pared down to two extended pieces, concentrates the trio’s energy on the title-opening track, which works with jagged, rhythmically displaced guitar patterns, driving drum figures, and a collage of voice, percussion, and found sounds. Its taut sense of drama makes the piece a focused example of how post‑punk aggression can be linked with avant‑garde sonic exploration.

This Heat were formed by Charles Bullen, Charles Hayward, and Gareth Williams; their approach connects instrumental versatility with tape manipulations and live improvisation. On the compositional side, the band relies on ruptures, unexpected textures, and an experimental method that fuses song-based structures with musique concrète elements. This way of working shaped both the group’s sense of identity and their lasting impact on subsequent scenes.

The flip‑side recording "Graphic/Varispeed" offers a quieter, hypnotic counterpoint and plays with variations in pitch and speed, depending on whether it is played at 45 or 33 rpm. Critics such as Simon Reynolds even regard "Health And Efficiency" as a "peak achievement" by This Heat, a concentrated synthesis of raw intensity and playful experimental exuberance that clearly brings out the special character of this ensemble.

First LP from these Portland punk legends, recorded in 1979. Fred & Toody Cole of Dead Moon/pierced Arrows & a million other bands along with Rod Rat present a punk rock masterpiece. Stripped down and lo-fi, the record has a slight psychedelic edge & some definite roots in early rock & roll. The record that started to definte the aesthetic that would later inform what Fred & Toody accomplished with Dead Moon.

The Translucent Jade vinyl edition of the “Start Today” LP by Gorilla Biscuits, released on Revelation, is a reissued pressing of a foundational work of the New York hardcore scene. The album is considered one of the most influential releases in the genre and ranks among the most successful titles in the Revelation Records catalog, securing the record its lasting place in hardcore history.

Musically, “Start Today” combines hard, punchy riffs with catchy choruses and tight song structures; the tracks are short, powerful, and melodic enough to create plenty of sing‑along moments. The songs are defined by a straightforward delivery, fast tempos, and a clear, positive attitude within the youth crew tradition, which shapes the band’s characteristic style.

Behind the sound are the band members centered around vocalist Anthony “Civ” Civarelli and guitarist/lead voice Walter Schreifels, who wrote the majority of the songs. The production was handled in collaboration with Don Fury, preserving the unfiltered energy of the recordings while achieving a precise mix. The record is rounded out by gang vocals and additional backing contributions that emphasize the album’s sense of community.

The LP “Live At The BBC,” released on Cadiz Music, brings together the Peel Sessions the Cockney Rejects recorded for John Peel’s show in 1979 and 1980. The compilation documents the band in its early phase and transfers the live recordings of the radio performances straight to vinyl, with the title referring to the source of the recordings.

Musically, the record stands for direct, working-class punk and the band’s early Oi! aesthetic: short, powerful guitar riffs, distinctive drumming, and rough vocals that often deal with themes such as loyalty, territorial pride, and football culture. This context shapes the tracks and shows why the Cockney Rejects are regarded as a defining voice of the late seventies.

The lineup from those years consists mainly of Jeff “Stinky” Turner (vocals), Mick Geggus (guitar), and Vince Riordan (bass), joined by changing drummers; this constellation shapes the sessions’ characteristic sound. The recordings were made specifically for John Peel’s BBC radio show and capture the band’s immediacy live in the studio.

As a historical snapshot, “Live At The BBC” focuses on unpolished performance and compact arrangements that clearly set themselves apart from studio productions. For listeners who value the band’s early phase and the authenticity of the Peel Sessions, the LP offers a directly documented glimpse into the energy of the Cockney Rejects.

Sex Pistols / Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols, an album that rewired 20 years of rock in under 40 minutes, is available today from Rhino High Fidelity (Rhino Hi-Fi), the premium vinyl reissue series. Released in 1977, it debuted at #1 on the U. K. charts despite being banned by major retailers and causing widespread controversy. Bristling with broadsides like "Anarchy In The U. K. ," "God Save The Queen," "Pretty Vacant," and "Holidays In The Sun," the album distilled rage and disillusionment into a single, unrelenting statement. In the album's new liner notes, producer Chris Thomas recalls how the band found their recording approach almost by accident during an early session. "We put down a track, just rhythm guitar and drums, pretty much first-take, no mistakes. It was impossible to know if it was any good, so, being a bit stumped, I asked Steve if he would like to have a go at putting the bass part on. Instead of playing a traditional bass line, he simply mirrored his guitar an octave lower-an unexpected move that snapped everything into focus. "It was an absolute 'Eureka!' moment," Thomas recalls. "The combination was so powerful, so simple. We bashed three more songs down, adding the bass and double-tracking the guitar in just a couple of hours. We were seriously in first-take territory. "

The "Live At The Village Gate 1977" LP by Mars is being released on HoZac and documents a series of performances from the summer of 1977 at the Village Gate in Greenwich Village, New York.

The recording captures the band’s raw no wave energy, where serrated guitars, jolting rhythms, and distinctive vocals collide. Despite the rough sonic aesthetic, bright, almost pop-leaning moments emerge; the group was still working with influences like the Velvet Underground, but was already forging new, wiry forms from them. Vocally, the set shifts between the intense screams of Sumner Crane and Connie Burg, joined by Mark Cunningham on bass and Nancy Arlen on drums, whose relentless playing drives the set forward.

The live set comprises eight short, pointed tracks running about 24 minutes in total; songs like "Cry," "Compulsion," and "81 Warren Street" showcase the tension between controlled precision and near-disintegration. The early version of "3E" here runs longer and looser than on the later studio recording, making the raw live dynamics especially apparent.

As a HoZac release, this edition bears the catalog number HZR-237 (HoZac Archival #52) and comes as a pressing of 500 copies on black vinyl; the first 100 include a promo poster. The edition offers a compact, authentic snapshot of Mars’ early work.

The colored vinyl edition of the "Piss Up" LP by C.O.F.F.I.N is released on Legless and comes on translucent Piss Yellow vinyl.

Musically, the album moves within a rough, immediately delivered spectrum of punk and rock that links short, aggressive bursts with more resolute, longer tracks. Thematically, the record explores opposing sides of everyday life in Australia and male identity: lyrics about grief, racism, violence, and self-absorbed archetypes stand alongside more straight-ahead statements like "White Dog," "Locals O‑nly," and "Between The Flags." This blend of anger and reflection shapes the song structures and the band’s phrasing.

The recordings were made at Pet Food Factory 2.0 with the involvement of Jason Whalley and bring together performances by Ben Ulitzka Portnoy (vocals/drums), Abijah Rado (lead guitars/lap steel), Arthur Devo Flanders (guitar), Laurence Adams (bass), and Ivor Rigney (yidaki/didge); Aaron Moss appears as a guest guitarist. The production favors rough-edged yet clearly defined live band takes that leave room for precise guitar work and striking vocal lines.

In terms of composition, the LP combines punk-style directness with occasional atmospheric breaks, allowing the lyrics to retain their urgency while still making space for instrumental development. The release documents a formative phase in the band’s evolution and puts C.O.F.F.I.N’s unvarnished approach to music front and center.

No Use for a Name were one of the first bands on Fat Wreck Chords and remain a cornerstone of the label roster. Their unique take on California punk/skate punk emphasized equally innovative and catchy melody, paired with top-flight musicianship. Of course, a lot of what made this possible was the vocal range and imaginative song writing of Tony Sly. Despite his tragic passing in 2012, Tony's presence can still be felt today, as his influence is evident in the work of many other artists. Leche Con Carne is a blistering punk rock record, the band's third studio album, and a blend of Bad Religion-esque riffage and edgy vocals that hit between singing and yelling. The record features some of the bands' biggest hits, the love song "Soulmate", the story-telling cautionary tale "Justified Black Eye", and the popular Bob Marley cover of "Redemption Song." 30 years since it's first release, Leche Con Carne feels as omnipotent as ever, an essential Fat Wreck Chords release, and a classic album in the No Use for a Name catalog. Unavailable since its original release on the Crass side label Corpus Christi in 1987, the much bootlegged compilation The EPs Of RP finally gets an official reissue on Sealed Records.

The LP collects both Rudimentary Peni 7” releases pre-Death Church LP, completing the trilogy of Rudimentary Peni's first era recordings before their first hiatus.

The A side contains the band’s stunning debut. A breakneck 12-song 7” EP recorded in 1981 at Street Level Studios and originally released on the band’s Outer Himalayan label. From the first track Rudimentary Peni pull you in and aurally assault your ears creating the template for many to follow. It’s abrasive, sharp, intricate with supreme musicianship and a unique dark sense of humour. They created a perfect, demented universe of twisted, poetic and needle in the red punk often imitated and truly never matched.

Flip over for the follow up, the 11 track 7” Farce that was originally released in 1982 on Crass Records. Like most records on such label it benefits massively from John Loder’s engineering and Penny Rimbaud production. Farce never lets up the intensity with twisted melodies, a locked in rhythm section and Blinko’s much copied anguished vocals that he sings like his life depends on it. It energetic, manic and 40+ years later nothing comes close to both EP’s.

While both EPs were originally packed in Nick Blinko’s artwork, he created a masterpiece of dark and intricate art with microscopical detail to house their collection. You can literally get lost for hours in it. This reissue replicates it, adding a new printed inner-sleeve and lyric insert.

So we wanted to go back in to Westbeach with Donnell, but it turns out now he's in rehab, and obviously is in no shape to record us. So Mr. Brett tells me to call his friend Ryan Greene. So I call Ryan and he records what is probably our best record. It turns out Ryan has really long hair and knows a lot of metal bands, but he's pretty cool anyway. We record at Westbeach, but mix at EMI. This record takes about 3 weeks, which is about as long as we've ever spent on any record. We had a bunch of weird people come in to play steel drums and flaminco guitar and stuff. We covered a Mark Curry song too, which a lot of people don't know. ("Perfect Government") . This record turned out to be our best selling record. Without any radio or video play, it ended up going gold. Pretty neat. -NOFX

Smash is the third studio album by American rock band the Offspring, released on April 5, 1994, by Epitaph Records. It was the band"s final studio album to be produced by Thom Wilson, who had worked with them since their 1989 eponymous debut. This also marks the first album where Dexter Holland is credited with playing the guitar as opposed to vocals only. Smash was the Offspring"s introduction into worldwide popularity, and produced a number of hit singles, including "Come Out and Play", "Self Esteem", and "Gotta Get Away". Along with Green Day"s Dookie, Smash was responsible for bringing punk rock into the mainstream, and helped pave the way for the emerging pop punk scene of the 1990s.Peaking at number four on the US Billboard 200, Smash has sold over eleven million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling album released by an independent record label it was also the first Epitaph release to obtain gold and platinum status. In the United States, Smash has sold over six million copies and has been certified six times platinum by the RIAA.

On their seventh studio album, Deftones prove that they don't need to compromise aggression for ambition. Koi No Yokan ranges from brutal, blunt-force trauma ("Gauze") to epic prog-rock atmospherics ("Tempest"). Opener "Swerve City" sets the tone immediately with a bludgeoning riff, but Deftones also take nuanced approaches to angsty tension, weaving meticulously crafted cosmic rock on "Entombed" and wading through murky, jagged textures on "Rosemary."

The purple vinyl edition of the "A Life Less Plagued" LP by Carry On is released on Bridge Nine and stands as one of the most defining documents of the early‑2000s California hardcore scene. The record brings together twelve short, uncompromising tracks that, through their brevity and directness, emphasize the raw, driving core of the genre and focus on tempo changes and intense, memorable choruses.

Musically, the material sits between classic hardcore and a straight‑edge ethos: energetic vocals, a rumbling twin‑guitar sound, and precisely placed breaks shape the overall sound, while the lyrics often tackle personal and political topics in a pointed way. Tracks like "X's Always Win" and "Mirrors and Needles" are exemplary of the band’s sober, uncompromising expression. The brief total running time underscores the concentrated aggression of the work.

The lineup of Ryan George (vocals), Todd Jones (guitar), Corey Williams (guitar), Greg Bacon (bass), and Nick Jett (drums) decisively shapes the sound; Todd Jones was involved in production, supported by Kurt Ballou, who as engineer and producer ensured clear, hard‑hitting recordings. The record was tracked at Godcity Studios and is now regarded as a seminal release in the Bridge Nine catalog.

The "No Fun At All" LP by Mesh was released on Feel It and gathers eleven new tracks in which the band distills its post‑punk and indie‑inflected vocabulary. The record trades the lo‑fi aesthetic of earlier demos for greater sonic clarity, but retains the sharp, slightly off‑kilter melodicism that defines the project.

Mesh hail from Philadelphia and formed in 2019; band members Sims Hardin (guitar/vocals), Allison Durham (12‑string guitar/vocals), Tom Riese (bass), and Steve Darling (drums) shape the concise songwriting with shifting, accented guitar figures and tightly interlocked rhythms. Their self‑titled debut tape appeared in 2021 on Born Yesterday Records and laid the groundwork for the full‑length now on offer.

Musically, "No Fun At All" moves between crisp, British‑leaning post‑punk and airy ’80s indie melodicism; Durham and Hardin trade off on the lead parts, often as interlocking voices. Tracks such as "Hold On To" and "Boots On The Pavement" lean on punchy riffs and driving arrangements, while pieces like "Atrophy" stand out through 12‑string strums and bright harmonies. The record presents a band that preserves its rough‑edged roots while channeling them into a focused, varied LP format.

The colored vinyl edition of the “Cold World” LP by The Flatliners was released on Equal Vision and brings the new track sequence to the shelf in a punchy vinyl pressing. The album collects twelve tracks, including “Stolen Valour,” “Whyte Light,” and closing song “United In Spite,” channeling the band’s raw power precisely into the medium.

The Flatliners present themselves as a Canadian quartet that has maintained a stable lineup and a recognizable sound for years. Singer and guitarist Chris Cresswell and lead guitarist Scott Brigham, together with Jon Darbey on bass and Paul Ramirez on drums, build dense arrangements where melodic punk riffs collide with a driving rhythm section. On “Cold World,” anthemic choruses intertwine with sharper, post-hardcore-leaning moments; the record walks the line between direct aggression and mature song structures.

For the recording, the band relied on the seasoned team around engineer Matt Snell, once again self-producing and working with Anton DeLost and Jason Livermore from The Blasting Room on mixing and mastering. This distinct production approach lets the layered guitars, propulsive drums, and striking vocal lines really shine, allowing “Cold World” to showcase both the band’s familiar strengths and new sonic nuances.

The colored vinyl edition of the *How A Mosquito Operates* LP by Alien Nosejob was released on Iron Lung. The record brings together 17 short, direct tracks that clearly lean into hardcore punk while repeatedly allowing for unexpected shifts and rhythmic accents. Songs like “Live Like The Crowd” work with tight, razor-sharp riffs and an unmistakable sense of tempo-driven urgency, while other cuts make room for melodic leads and synth-driven passages.

Alien Nosejob began as a one-person bedroom project and over time developed into a flexible band setup with a rock- and punk-rooted core. Thematically, the work explores familiar ground — alienation, conformity, critiques of consumerism, and anti-war stances — and ties it all together with an often ironic perspective that carries the lyrical focus. The record clearly shows the influence of Adrenalin O.D., early MDC, and Neos, yet maintains its own character in phrasing and tempo.

The recordings were done by Jake Robertson; the mix was handled by Robertson together with Mikey Young, who also took care of the mastering. The crisp, punchy production emphasizes the songs’ immediacy, the compact arrangements, and the concise vocal lines. Max Burlingame’s artwork complements the sound with a distinctive graphic touch.

The title of the first song on The One Thing That Still Holds True says it all: “Impact.” Chain OF Strength made one of the most undeniable impressions of any hardcore band from their era, with a message as outright and direct as any before them, and perhaps with an in-your-face attitude that was only matched by the power of their recordings. This Southern California band struck with the force of a ten-ton truck—merging the guitar sound of Minor Threat with the crunch of Cro-mags, and melding it with an intensity that gained notoriety from coast to coast. Rarely has a band from the West Coast been able to hold its own with their East Coast counterparts; Chain OF Strength not only held their own, but was considered to be at the forefront of the movement. Perhaps no other band from this era has been so often imitated, but never has their power been duplicated. The One Thing That Still Holds True compiles their entire recorded output, both the True Till Death and What Holds Us Apart EPs as well as the bonus track “Impact.” No true fan of hardcore can call their collection complete without this essential album.

"LA Punks Memo PST return with another modern punk classic Eternal Actors, their new album out this May on In The Red. These 12 tracks capture the fury of late '70s rough and raw punk rock, with Orville Neeley crafting hit after hit of god-tier punk bangers. Vocalist Chris Shaw is also at his most versatile to date, with his lyrical capabilities and patented punk sneers dripping across every song.

"Simply put, Eternal Actors finds two lords of the punk genre at their very best. There are classic punk bashers like “Dog Groomer Stylist,” and “Doomed to Repeat” but also primitive, bare-bones rock rippers like “Chrome Bubble” and Worship Me.” The band also delivers some of their most hardcore songs to date with “Concrete Club” and “Blown Away.”

"With the San Clemente wrecking crew of Jackson Todd (drums) and Emmanuel Koulouris (bass) back again to round out the four piece band, this is truly a powerhouse presentation of punk music in 2026. If the band proved they were a punk force with their long sold out, self titled album, Eternal Actors may solidify their place at the top of the punk pile.

"Recorded in late 2025 by longtime collaborator Mike Kriebel at Tropico Beauty Supply in Los Angeles, Eternal Actors is Memo PST's second album for In The Red." – Johnny Dogface

Genre Is Death is an uncompromising noise duo made up of Ty V (guitar, vox) and Tayler Lee (bass, vox). Their sound is abrasive yet melodic, using heavy distortion, dissonant riffs, and reverberating vocals to create a wave of boldly hypnotic noise. The duo have been compared to the likes of Sonic Youth and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, yet have managed to create a sound that is distinctly their own, avoiding mimicking the zeitgeist of decades before. Beyond the integrity of their music, Tayler’s intimidating glare, or Ty’s staggering gait, the duo share something truly inimitable— the overwhelming feeling that their music is a byproduct of the high esteem they hold of each other.

The duo moved to NYC in August of 2023 looking for something more than their mundane suburban lifestyle of day drinking and playing doom metal in friends' basements…their move to NYC coupled with their desire to express something, anything, led to the inception of Genre is Death. The pair hit the ground running, playing anywhere and everywhere they could… however, it was only after a chance encounter with 80s noise forerunners Live Skull that the pair was introduced to the strange underbelly of NYC noise and began playing regular gigs with The Art Gray Noizz Quintet and Lydia Lunch. In 2025 the pair played New Colossus Festival, toured with Gogol Bordello, embarked on their first East Coast tour, and played gigs with Cherubs, Bush Tetras, and Jon Spencer. Their upcoming record was recorded with legendary sound engineer Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans).

The Dwarves return to their punk roots with a fun, energetic record. Standout tracks include: Damned If I Do, We Are The Scene, Psychosis Tripping.Jenkem finds The Dwarves returning to the raw, confrontational energy that defined their early work, delivering a fast, irreverent blast of punk rock that blends melody, aggression, and their trademark shock humor. Packed with short, high-impact tracks like "We Are The Scene," "Damned If I Do," and "Psychosis Tripping," the album balances tight songwriting with the band's chaotic, anything-goes attitude, moving effortlessly between hardcore punk bursts and hook-driven rock moments.Formed in the mid-1980s and long led by founding member Blag Dahlia, The Dwarves have built a reputation as one of punk's most provocative and unpredictable acts. Emerging from the underground with releases like Blood Guts & Pussy, they became notorious for their explicit artwork, confrontational lyrics, and myth-making persona that blurred fact and fiction. Over decades, the band has shifted fluidly between garage rock, hardcore punk, and pop-inflected punk, while maintaining a consistent identity rooted in speed, satire, and rebellion. Their ever-changing lineup has included notable musicians such as HeWhoCannotBeNamed and members connected to acts like The Queers and Zeke, reinforcing their deep ties within the punk scene. With Jenkem, The Dwarves reaffirm their core strengths--brevity, intensity, and attitude--while delivering a record that feels both nostalgic and immediate. The songs hit quickly and leave an impression, driven by sharp riffs, pounding rhythms, and Dahlia's biting vocal delivery. As a continuation of their long-standing ethos, the album stands as a reminder of the band's enduring ability to provoke, entertain, and channel punk's most unfiltered spirit.

Ride Paranoia marks a decisive step forward for JR Ewing, showcasing the Norwegian band at a point where intensity, precision, and songwriting fully converge. Released in 2002 on GSL, the album builds on the raw hardcore foundation of their early work while pushing further into complex, tightly structured post-hardcore territory. The follow-up to „Calling In Dead“ is defined by explosive dynamics, angular guitar work, and relentless rhythmic drive, paired with urgent, emotionally charged vocals. JR Ewing balance aggression with control, allowing songs to unfold with both immediacy and depth. Influences from hardcore, noise rock, and emerging post-hardcore aesthetics are seamlessly integrated into a sound that feels both confrontational and focused. Ride Paranoia captures the band’s growing confidence and technical skill, laying the groundwork for their later, more expansive releases. The production emphasizes clarity without sacrificing impact, making the album a powerful and immersive listening experience. An essential release for fans of late-1990s hardcore and post-hardcore, Ride Paranoia stands as a key document of JR Ewing’s evolution and their place within the European underground scene.

POISON RUIN return with their highly anticipated sophomore LP, Hymns From the Hills. Building off the strengths of their existing oeuvre, the band has developed their signature approach to grim mythmaking and scythe-swinging aggression in bold new directions, offering up a new body of songs that strike one as equal parts natural, undeniably of this world, and phantasmal.

The band's vision has grown substantially, pushing well past the tales of peasants and serfs that stood as allegories for contemporary alienation in their previous work: on this newest offering, Their previous stories of toil and dispossession are revealed to be but one chapter etched upon a bleaker tapestry, one populated by spirits traversing sunless deserts and wilted hillsides, demonic torture objects limning the edges of the psyche, bodies transfigured into Luciferian snakes, Sadean prisoners bound to the screaming silence of abandoned castle towers. The record is at once a forceful restatement of POISON RUIN's trademark sound and a departure from it, the crackling, cassette-dubbed darkness and crushing rhythms listeners have become accustomed to buttressed by a carefully sculpted mosaic of new textures, from flourishes of Killing Joke hacksaw primitivism and blast-beats worthy of the Relapse catalogue number to crisp analog synth lines and ambient serenades reminiscent of Scott Walker and The Durutti Column. Like a serpent moving ever outward with spiraling circularity, Hymns From the Hills expands POISON RUIN's sonic landscape in imaginative new directions while maintaining its center of gravity firmly in the band's already established mythos.

Hymns From the Hills is meticulously composed. Much like the rest of POISON RUIN's body of work, this LP was self-recorded without the use of professional studio equipment. To meet the greater sonic demands of Hymns From the Hills, however, mastermind Mac Kennedy relocated to a private practice space, retiring from his previous routine of squeezing in tracking sessions around the rare moments that the band's shared practice space happened to be vacant. ''Having added time to breathe and really get things right felt crucial this time,'' he remarks. ''The stress of having to work quickly and at chaotic intervals used to feel productive in a lot of ways, in that it instilled a sort of rough, energetic ethos into the recordings, but I also started to realize that those working habits were becoming an easy way to let myself off the hook from pursuing certain ideas that required a more measured, methodical approach.'' To best serve the record's grander ambitions, the band enlisted the mixing prowess of Jonah Falco (Fucked Up, Career Suicide) and the mastering of Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Trapped Under Ice, Cavalera, Integrity), who helped to elevate the record's teeming variety of sounds to new heights of self-assured fidelity. Kennedy lent a second hand to the mixing process, splicing in grittier tape recorded segments in order to maintain a certain tonal continuity with the band's previous work, creating a rich structure of unconventional frictions, crystalline flashes of polish ripping through abysses of hissing low end only to shatter against the whipping sting of rusted chains moments later.

Lyrically, Hymns From The Hills extends both the cynicism and the defiant bravado of POISON RUIN's established fantasy aesthetics. While the record continues POISON RUIN'S tradition of employing medieval-inflected fantasy imagery, Kennedy does not intend for these figures to be read as historically accurate: ''I'm not interested in the actual facts of medieval culture, and I'm not trying to draw a sort of literal comparison between peasant life and the political realities of today. Rather, I think in order to really make sense of the present you have to get outside of history altogether, in a certain way-you have to find some sort of mythic language for talking about the spiritual damage that surrounds us, a mythology that can somehow escape the limits on imagination that are imposed upon us. For me, medieval imagery and fantasy aesthetics have always felt like a powerful starting point for creating that sort of mythology. If one is forced to be in Babylon, how can you find a way to live both through it and beyond it?''

With Hymns From The Hills, POISON RUIN have accomplished a feat of creative labor which few have the courage to entertain, much less the capacity to execute so effectively. They have upped the ante: they have set out to make ''The Record''. Hymns From The Hills ambitiously rewrites the very rules of what punk is capable of achieving, pushing POISON RUIN's sound into expansive new terrains without sacrificing an ounce of the bleak symbolism and uncompromising aggression that first established them as an urgent new voice in the world of extreme music.

As the title suggests, this 1986 album compiled the eight-track ‘Time Flies… But Aeroplanes Crash’ 12”, originally recorded and released in 1983, and the four-track EP, ‘Rats’, that had been recorded during the summer of 1984 and released in early ’85.
‘Rats’ might just be the band’s most powerful and compelling release, the title track inspired by the Stop The City protests of ’84 that sought to highlight the undeniable links between first world capitalism and third world poverty. Whilst it’s something of a mish-mash, with several rowdy live tracks and a few, very enjoyable re-recordings of old Stupid Humans songs (Stupid Humans being guitarist Bruce’s pre-Subhumans band…), it contains two of the Subhumans’ best-loved tracks, ‘Work Rest Play Die’ and ‘Susan’, the latter something of an oddity as it’s a stirring piano piece, with lyrics written by Steve Hamilton, an old friend of the band. As a staple of the punk scene, ALL of the Subhumans records are still in high demand, and this long overdue repress of this album couldn’t be coming at a better time. Subhumans are one of the most influential bands from the UK Anarcho-Punk scene of the 80's, filed right alongside Crass and Conflict, and just as relevant today as they were during the darkest days of Thatcher's Britain. Take your choice in how to label them – Punk, UK82, Crusty, etc. – therein lies the attraction and consequent reason for their popularity, the band epitomizing non-conformity and connecting with people in many different scenes. This collection is an important piece of history in the world of punk that Subhumans helped create.

Drawn up by some of the most unsavory souls in the Boston, MA underground hardcore scene and reinforced by members who have done time in infamous area bands like Mind Eraser, Righteous Jams, Mental, Xfilesx and many others, THE Rival MOB have become the darlings of the current hardcore scene, inspiring shameless violence and playing high on the bill at the most important hardcore festivals in America; This Is Hardcore in Philadelphia, Sound And Fury in California, and Chaos in Tejas in Austin, TX. In between serving time with their current other projects World WAR 4, Give, NO Tolerance, and Boston Strangler, the band will be playing on both coasts highlighted once again by the big summer festivals as well as their first-ever trip across the Atlantic to Europe. The band’s Revelation Records debut picks up right where their previous EP, Hardcore For Hardcore, left off, with vocalist Brendan Radigan spewing venom at the ills that plague both the outside world and the scene itself, all delivered over fast, stage dive-inspiring hardcore that brings to mind the best of mid-to-late ’80s New York hardcore bands like Youth OF Today, Warzone, and Breakdown.

Born in the Basement, the 1994 second LP from horror-pop-punk mainstays the Groovie Ghoulies, in many ways marked a pivotal transition point for the band that would set the course for the rest of their career. After the first LP, the band had moved from Los Angeles to Sacramento, the city that would remain their home base for the duration of the band. The title of the record is more factual than one might assume: at the time, the Ghoulies' lineup of Kepi (bass/vocals), Roach (guitar), and Wendy (drums) were all co-habitating in a house by the city cemetery, practicing in the basement, where the record was indeed "born"! This lineup would remain together for the follow-up World Contact Day, which became the best-selling Ghoulies record! They also found themselves working with a prestigious new producer, recording at Seattle's Egg Studios with Conrad Uno (Mudhoney, The Presidents of the United States of America, The Ergs!). This relationship, too, would continue for World Contact Day. Fuelled by fan-favourite Ghoulies staples such as "The Beast with Five Hands," "I Wanna Have Fun," and "Back to the, Garage," the album was a self-released sell-out through two pressings, attracting the attention of legendary Bay Area punk label Lookout Records, who would work with the band through the year 2000, releasing 4 LPs and re-releasing 2, including Born in the Basement. Having already re-released the best-selling classic World Contact Day, Pirates Press Records is proud to present the album that paved the way for it and the long & storied career of the Groovie Ghoulies, Born in the Basement!

The Cool Blue vinyl edition of the *All* LP by Descendents is being released on ORG Music and presents the quartet’s concise songs on a carefully produced vinyl pressing. This reissue includes the album’s original tracks and expands the vinyl track list with “Jealous of the World” and “Uranus,” which were previously only available on CD and cassette releases.

Musically, *All* remains a milestone of melodic punk rock: fast, punchy riffs meet catchy vocal lines and compact, well-thought-out song structures. With Karl Alvarez on bass and Stephen Egerton on guitar, the band gained melodic finesse and instrumental complexity without losing the songs’ direct energy. The concept of “ALL” as a guiding principle is reflected in the songs’ consistently focused approach.

Production was handled by Bill Stevenson; the recordings took place in January 1987 at Radio Tokyo Studios. For this reissue, meticulous mastering work was carried out, the pressing was done at Furnace Record Pressing, and lacquer cutting was handled by Dave Gardner. The LP also includes a reproduction of the original insert, further underscoring the album’s historical context.

As a key release in the Descendents discography, this edition showcases the blend of gritty punk attitude and pop-inflected melody that still defines the album. Songs like “All” and “Clean Sheets” demonstrate the balance between pointed brevity and memorable hooks that characterizes the band’s style.

The “Buddha” LP by Blink‑182 is released on Kung Fu and documents the band’s early recordings as a remastered reissue of demo material originally recorded in 1994. The recordings were reworked by Kung Fu Records and re-released in 1998, making the early songs accessible to a wider audience.

Musically, “Buddha” showcases the band’s still-raw yet already distinctive skate punk: short, melodic choruses, driving tempos, and alternating lead vocals between Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge define the overall sound. The tracks combine immediate catchiness with a directness characteristic of punk; you can hear the influence of the Descendents as well as early traces of the melodic sensibility that would later become one of the band’s trademarks. The sessions were recorded in a short span of time at Doubletime Studios in Santee, California.

The release stands out because of its origin story: as an early collection, partly recorded in a live-style setup, it forms the foundation for later reworkings on subsequent albums. Kung Fu carried out digital post-production and remixing, giving the remastered version a noticeably clearer sound and placing the archival material in an improved sonic context. The songs were written by Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Scott Raynor, who were already carving out the band’s distinctive songwriting here.

Although they emerged from Melbourne bayside outer suburbs onto the local live scene with their fresh and spirited indie-rock update of the garage-beat sounds of The Easybeats, Kinks and early Beatles only a year or so ago, Gnome actually started out as a bedroom solo project for teenaged singer/songwriter/ guitarist Jay Millar a few years back. Jay, playing everything himself, started recording and releasing a steady succession of material - quite a few albums' worth - on his own Goblin Records label via Bandcamp. Realizing he needed a band to start playing out, Jay approached some like minded players from Frankston's rehearsal hub Singing Bird, and with Jay on lead vocals and lead guitar, Ned Capp on guitar, Olly Katsianis on bass, and Ethan Robins on drums, Gnome became a band.
Early in 2025, the last solo Jay recordings released under the Gnome name caused something of an international underground sensation when the Bandcamp only I Like It EP - four songs of kranked up Kinks-style mono riffage - was posted by a Spanish garage-punk YouTube page and quickly clocked up over 50,000 views.

At the same time, the band quickly began gaining attention on the thriving Frankston scene and around Melbourne. They started breaking out, sharing bills with the likes of Drunk Mums, Skegss, Split System, The Prize, The Unknowns, Cosmic Psychos, Hockey Dad, Guitar Wolf, The 5.6.7.8's, The Breadmakers, Loose Lips, fellow Frankstoners/Singing Bird alumni The Belair Lip Bombs, and, on a quick trip to Sydney, Cammy Cautious & The Wrestlers.
And now, finally, we have The Gnomes' debut album. Twelve killer tracks that combine the best of the '60s with the best of today. Twelve killer tracks that show off assertive and accomplished songwriting, singing and playing and an explosive and authentic swinging group sound. Twelve killers slices of raw rock'n'roll running the gamut from the savage Rhythm & Blues of "Play With You" and “Better With You” to the vibrant beat pop of "I'll Be There" and "I'm Not The One", with forays into the heavy reverb psych of "Stung", the Cavern/Star Club stylings of "Flippin' Stomp" and the first flyte jangle of "Time Will Tell" along the way. There’s more of course, including a new version of that Kinks-style kranker “I Like It” for good measure.
Frankston’s Fab Four are taking their sound to the world. Join them for the ride!

The “OST 40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up: Rotten To The Score Red Vinyl Edition” brings together the instrumental arrangements for the film project and presents the original score that Fat Mike wrote and arranged for the documentary. The LP focuses on orchestral compositions that deliberately move away from typical punk song structures, instead putting thematic motifs and orchestral colors front and center.

Fat Mike, known as the vocalist and songwriter of NOFX and founder of Fat Wreck Chords, uses his feel for melody and irony here to shape both brief cues and fully developed pieces; titles like “Type One American Errorist” and “Herojuana in F Major” give an idea of the stylistic range. The compositions combine classic instrumentation with a punk-adjacent directness, allowing the score to stand on its own alongside the soundtrack.

The red vinyl edition is aimed at collectors and listeners who value physical extras: the release includes exclusive audio clips from the film and features artwork illustrated by Tokyo Hiro, making the package a documentary companion to the film itself. It is released and distributed by Fat Wreck Chords; the LP highlights the unusual side of Fat Mike’s work by bringing together cinematic conception and compositional precision.

Wire's first three albums need no introduction. They are the three classic albums on which Wire's reputation is based. Moreover, they are the recordings that minted the post-punk form. This was adopted by other bands, but Wire were there first. These are the definitive re-releases. It has been a number of years since these albums were readily available. The aim with these new vinyl and CD releases is to approximate the original statements as closely as possible, but with remastered audio. The vinyl releases have the same covers and inners as the originals (minus the Harvest logo). The digipack CDs have identical tracklistings to their vinyl counterparts. These versions should be considered Wire's classic 1970s albums, pure and undiluted. Originally released on Harvest in 1977, Pink Flag is perhaps the most original debut album to come out of the first wave of British punk. Exhibiting severe art school damage, Wire care...

The LP "Before The Static Age: Songs From The Manny Tapes" by Misfits, released on Blank, brings together early rehearsal and live recordings from the band’s so‑called Manny era and presents early versions of numerous tracks that would later lead into the Static Age era. The compilation focuses on the period in which the songs were created and documents the preliminary stages of arrangements and melodies as they were developed just before the studio mixes.

Musically, the record clearly stands in the horror punk tradition: concise, driving structures meet catchy choruses and a distinctly cinematic imagery in both lyrics and overall mood. Glenn Danzig’s compositional signature — striking melodies, simple but effective riff work, and thematic references to B‑horror and science fiction — runs like a common thread through these early takes and is particularly easy to trace on this LP.

At the same time, the recordings offer a documentary glimpse of an early lineup featuring Manny Martínez on drums, whose playing and the early use of keyboard textures give the tracks a distinctive character. For listeners who want to explore the band’s roots, the LP is therefore a valuable addition: it makes the evolution of song ideas audible and enriches how the later, officially released Static Age material can be heard.

In 2006, Japan's envy irreparably blurred the linesdividing all the various sub-genres of underground rock, smearing post-hardcore, screamo, shoegaze, andambient minimalism into their cinematic opus, InsomniacDoze. It was not a destination without a path - the band'sprevious two albums, All the Footprints You've LeftBehind and the Fear Expecting Ahead (2001) and A DeadSinking Story (2003), were clear indicators that changewas ahead. As always, envy were driven by creativecuriosity and emotional exploration. Perhaps no album intheir nearly four-decade history exemplifies this pursuitmore than Insomniac Doze. Twenty years later, it standsas a progenitor, and one of the premiere examples of thepreconceptions of punk gettin...

Everything I Ever Saw finds THE MENZINGERS entering a new era in what"s already been astoried career. The Philadelphia punk legends" eighth album chronicles moments of significantchange-the personal, the political, and the universal-while returning to the core creativeprinciples that first put them on the map with listeners the world over. Twenty years in,the Menzingers have discovered that the wisdom gained with time"s passing is even strongerthan the emotional armor they once wore in their youth, and Everything I Ever Saw capturesthe quartet embracing the here and now while strengthening the bonds that have held themtogether.THE MENZINGERS have always created as a four-headed unit, with all members (vocalist/guitarist Greg Barnett, vocalist/guitarist Tom May, bassist Eric Keen, drummer Joe Godino)throwing in their respective talents as part of the craft-but for Everything I Ever Saw, thegroup worked in creative symbiosis more than ever before. "The way we made this recordfeels the most like how the band was in the very beginning: Me and Tom coming to the bandwith the most basic element of a song, and the four of us shaping that," Barnett says.Instrumental in building that excitement was locally centered and nationally renowned productionlegend Will Yip, who threw in with the Menzingers on 2017"s After the Party and theirsonically expansive 2019 record Hello Exile. This time around, Yip once again became an unofficialMenzinger while the band crafted these 11 songs in their South Philly space. "Workingwith Will was like a homecoming," May beams while talking about Yip"s contributions. "We"vegrown up together over these years, and we"re still incredibly close friends. He"s the bestat gassing you up and making sure everybody"s on the right page, but he"s also so good atpointing out stuff that might not fit the vision without being a fucking prick. He"s the hardestworking person that we"ve come across in the music indus...
