Limited edition on blue vinyl, exclusively available at HHV. Only 400!

The “Dillagence II” LP by Busta Rhymes and J Dilla is released on The Conglomerate Inc. and documents a direct encounter between new Busta verses and previously unreleased beats by the late producer. The album contains 19 tracks and is bookended by brief interludes from Ma Dukes; it also features prominent guest appearances from D’Angelo, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Anderson .Paak, Ludacris, Common, Talib Kweli, and T3 of Slum Village. The production is based on an extensive collection of previously unpublished Dilla instrumentals that were reviewed and used for this project, as indicated by both the advance announcements and the record’s release. Musically, “Dillagence II” combines Busta Rhymes’ distinctive, rapid-fire delivery with J Dilla’s characteristic sample-driven grooves and pronounced low end; some tracks make a brief, pointed impact, while others expand their arrangements with vocal features and soulful hooks. The “Dillagence II” LP on The Conglomerate Inc. thus presents itself as a carefully curated chapter in both artists’ creative histories, bringing unreleased production work together with new rap performances and making the collective signature of Busta Rhymes and J Dilla audible.

Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous is Big L's debut album and the only album released during his lifetime. It was released on March 28, 1995, through Columbia Records and is now widely regarded as one of the defining underground hip-hop albums of the 1990s. Although it received critical acclaim for its lyricism, the album achieved only modest commercial success upon release. Born Lamont Coleman in Harlem, New York, Big L first gained recognition through freestyle battles and as a member of the legendary Diggin' in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.). After being discovered by Lord Finesse, he signed with Columbia Records in 1993 and recorded the album between 1992 and 1994.

The production was primarily handled by D.I.T.C. affiliates including Lord Finesse, Buckwild, Showbiz, and Craig Boogie. Built around classic boom bap drums and soulful samples, the album's stripped-back production provides the perfect backdrop for Big L's intricate rhyme schemes, sharp punchlines, and effortless flow. Guest appearances include Lord Finesse, Grand Daddy I.U., Herb McGruff, Party Arty, as well as early career performances from Jay-Z and Cam'ron. In particular, "Da Graveyard," featuring a young Jay-Z, has become one of the album's most celebrated tracks.

Lyrically, Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous explores themes of street life, battle rap, dark humor, and clever wordplay. Big L became known for his multisyllabic rhymes, vivid storytelling, and razor-sharp punchlines, establishing himself as one of the most technically gifted MCs of his generation. Standout tracks such as "Put It On," "M.V.P.," "Danger Zone," "Street Struck," and the title track remain fan favorites. While much of the album showcases his competitive lyrical style, "Street Struck" offers a more reflective perspective, warning about the consequences of life on the streets.

Despite peaking at only No. 149 on the Billboard 200 and No. 22 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, the album's reputation has grown significantly over the years. Many fans and critics now rank it alongside East Coast classics such as Nas' Illmatic and Mobb Deep's The Infamous. Its influence can be heard in the work of countless lyricists who followed, and Big L is widely recognized as one of hip-hop's greatest punchline rappers.

Tragically, Big L was shot and killed in Harlem on February 15, 1999, at the age of 24, while working on his second album. The unfinished material was later compiled and released posthumously as The Big Picture (2000). Today, Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous stands as a timeless hip-hop classic and a testament to the extraordinary talent of an artist whose career was cut tragically short.

The “Soul Survivor” LP by Pete Rock is released on Sony and presents the producer and MC’s solo debut in a powerful double LP edition. On “Soul Survivor,” Pete Rock handles the production almost entirely himself, showcasing his trademark style of densely layered samples, warm soul loops, and precise drums; at the same time, he contributes his own vocals and hooks on several tracks, tightly interweaving production and performance.

The release is defined by an impressive line-up of guest appearances: names like Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Common, Big Pun, O.C., Heavy D, and Vinia Mojica shape the album, bringing a range of rap styles together under Pete Rock’s production signature. Upon its release, critics highlighted the dense sound design and the breadth of invited voices; the “Soul Survivor” LP is regarded as an example of how producer albums can rethink hip-hop arrangements. The vinyl edition offers audible dynamics that bring Pete Rock’s sampling work vividly to life.

Limited edition of 200 copies, available exclusively at HHV.

“Run Toward The Monster” is where fear meets the concrete. It’s a raw, unflinching dive into the darkness we all carry. Legendary Detroit producer Apollo Brown laces every track with grimy, soul-drenched grit, while mainstay emcee Ty Farris spits with surgical clarity; no filters, no fantasies. Each track is grown-man rap rooted in survival, self-awareness, and standing your ground. The monster isn’t just out there, it’s inside, and this album’s about facing it head-on. No capes, no heroes. Just two masters of the craft turning struggle into beautiful sound. Gritty, emotional, and unapologetically honest, “Run Toward The Monster” is a fitting soundtrack for the cold months and colder realities. “For the last 10 years, we’ve listened to the fans and supporters call for this project, so we made it happen. This album is for all the true fans of Apollo Brown & Ty Farris, respectively.” - Apollo Brown

This is survival music. No gimmicks, no fluff. Just real beats and real spit.

The LP “1999” by Joey Bada$$, originally released in 2012, brings the Brooklyn MC’s debut into physical form and presents the mixtape’s 15 tracks as a concise homage to hip-hop’s Golden Era. The release quickly brought the then‑17‑year‑old rapper to prominence and is regarded as a bridge between classic East Coast sound and the modern underground.

Musically, “1999” is marked by clear references to the ’90s: jazzy loops, tight breaks, and a focused flow that combines lyrical density with a laid‑back delivery. Standout cuts include “Waves,” “Survival Tactics,” and “Snakes”; production comes partly from the Pro Era camp (Chuck Strangers) and partly from established heavyweights like Lord Finesse, MF DOOM, and J Dilla.

As a Pro Era release, “1999” also serves as a document of its time for the collective era: guest spots from Kirk Knight, CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, Rokamouth, Dessy Hinds, Dyemond Lewis, T’nah Apex, and the late Capital STEEZ underscore the project’s collective signature. The record remains a point of reference for listeners seeking classic rap aesthetics in a contemporary form.

The “Before the World Blows” LP by Erykah Badu and The Alchemist is released on Young and marks the singer’s first official studio album in 16 years. Erykah Badu, a five-time GRAMMY winner with a total of 20 nominations, returns here in close collaboration with renowned hip-hop producer The Alchemist; their work together stretched over more than three years and evolved into an ongoing creative dialogue. The album unfolds in four chapters, combining introspective lyrics about love, memory, dreams, femininity, and personal growth with a dense, cross-genre sonic landscape.

On “Before the World Blows,” elements of soul, blues, funk, and jazz merge with rock and underground hip-hop production, with The Alchemist precisely structuring the arrangements and using Erykah Badu’s voice as the central vehicle of expression. Parts of the material were tested and further developed in intimate live shows before taking their final shape. The LP thus documents not only the return of a formative, influential artist, but also a collaborative project that stands as one of the most ambitious undertakings in both of their careers. Fans of Erykah Badu and admirers of The Alchemist’s production craft will find numerous nuanced moments and carefully placed details on this release.

Initially released in 2016, The Divine Feminine marked one of the most stark turning points in a career punctuated by creative reinvention. After doubling down on his rap prowess on 2015's GO:OD AM, Mac Miller stunned fans with an audacious pivot to create a concept album that explored his views on the power of love and the sacred energy of women. Hailed by Pitchfork as being "easily his most intoxicating release yet," the embrace of his singing voice and genre-agnostic approach of the songwriting foreshadowed the evolution that would further materialize on his 2018 album Swimming.

The 10th anniversary edition of The Divine Feminine features three previously-unreleased songs from the album's recording sessions and will be available on 3LP with printed inner sleeves in a single-pocket jacket upon its release on October 2nd.

After many, many years of waiting, it is finally back on vinyl. It is now available as a new European pressing, said to be superior to the US version.

*Reasonable Doubt* is Jay-Z’s debut album, released on June 25, 1996, via Roc-A-Fella Records. Although the album was not a major commercial success upon its release, it has since evolved into one of the most influential and highly regarded hip-hop albums of all time. To this day, many critics and fans consider it Jay-Z’s best work, as it offers a particularly authentic glimpse into his reality and mindset.

In terms of content, *Reasonable Doubt* explores themes such as ambition, success, money, loyalty, betrayal, and the moral conflicts inherent in street life. However, Jay-Z does not merely glorify his experiences as a drug dealer; he also reveals the psychological toll, doubts, and consequences associated with that lifestyle. This gives the album a much more reflective and multi-layered quality than many other rap releases of that era. Jay-Z himself later explained that writing the lyrics felt like a therapy session, as it allowed him to process his own experiences and inner conflicts.

Musically, the album is heavily influenced by the New York East Coast hip-hop sound of the 1990s. Jazz and soul samples, understated boom-bap beats, and elegant production by the likes of DJ Premier, Ski, Clark Kent, and Big Jaz create an atmospheric backdrop for Jay-Z’s calm yet technically sophisticated rapping style. His lyrics are characterized by complex rhyme schemes, wordplay, and numerous double meanings, ensuring the album reveals new details even after repeated listens.

Standout tracks include "Can't Knock the Hustle" (featuring Mary J. Blige), "Dead Presidents II," "D'Evils," and "Brooklyn's Finest" (featuring The Notorious B.I.G.). ...as well as "Regrets," which serves as a contemplative conclusion to the album, addressing the emotional consequences of the lifestyle described. "D'Evils," in particular, is considered one of the album's most striking tracks, as it powerfully depicts the destructive impact of greed and power.

Today, *Reasonable Doubt* is regarded as a milestone in hip-hop history. The album has since received numerous accolades and was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame. Its influence extends far beyond Jay-Z's own career, shaping generations of rappers. Above all, the combination of autobiographical content, sophisticated lyrics, and high-quality production makes *Reasonable Doubt* one of the most significant and widely discussed rap albums of all time.

Musically, the album blends hip-hop, funk, soul and jazz with live instrumentation and adventurous production. André 3000 and Big Boi explore themes of Atlanta life, relationships, society and growing up, while pushing their sound far beyond traditional rap.

Highlights include “Rosa Parks,” “Da Art of Storytellin’ (Pt. 1)” and “SpottieOttieDopaliscious.” Today, Aquemini is widely regarded as a hip-hop landmark and one of the defining albums in OutKast’s catalogue.

The “Contact” LP by Bigshawndon is being released on Gramofix and documents a reissue of the album originally released in 1998, which puts regional US hip-hop from Springfield, Ohio, at the center.

The reissue presents the album sequence in a version configured for vinyl; in addition to the LP version, “Contact” has also appeared in other physical formats. The new edition supplements the original material with additional track versions, offering an expanded edition of the original. Musically, Bigshawndon maintains his direct, street-oriented storytelling and clearly focuses on concise rap arrangements and pinpoint productions that reflect the atmosphere of the late 1990s. Tracks such as “FTW (Fuck The World),” “On Da Spot Rhyme,” and “A Million MC’s” are part of the tracklist and offer a glimpse into the thematic range of “Contact.”

This edition of “Contact” was issued in a limited pressing and is aimed at collectors interested in comprehensive reissues of regional hip-hop releases; at the same time, it represents a documented chapter in the local scene history surrounding Bigshawndon. Limited edition of 300 copies on blue splatter vinyl, available exclusively at HHV.

Larry June has built a career on making hard work look effortless, and his album Who Coppin’ stands as a masterclass in smooth, lifestyle-driven West Coast hip-hop. The album delivers a high-grade mix of Bay Area luxury, entrepreneurial motivation, and unbothered charismatic flows. Spanning a laid-back audio palette designed for early-morning juice runs and late-night freeway cruises alike, Uncle Larry balances the discipline of a hustle-first mindset with warm, sun-drenched production anchored by crisp organic instrumentation and heavy-knocking bass.

The album features a tightly curated roster of collaborators who align seamlessly with Larry's signature aesthetic. Spoken-word encouragement from Wallo267 sets an intentional tone on the opener "Go Outside Intro," framing the record around execution and focus. Soulful contributions from Jhené Aiko on "California Dream" and Musiq Soulchild on "Pretty Green Eyes" provide lush R&B textures, while NorCal legend B-Legit and longtime partner DJ.Fresh reinforce June’s deep West Coast roots. Meanwhile, Swizz Beatz injects high-energy bounce into "Flex," offering a vibrant contrast to Larry’s understated, cool-headed cadence.

Behind the boards, top-tier producers like Cardo, Teeko, Beat Butcha, Jay Versace, and June Santana craft a nostalgic yet modern backdrop filled with warm sample flips, smooth G-funk synthesizers, and relaxed soul grooves. The project builds to an emotionally grounded conclusion on "God Got Us (Ain't Too Many)," where June strips away the flexes to offer direct encouragement to his audience, proving once again that consistency, self-belief, and steady progress remain the ultimate luxuries.

Limited edition of 200 units on coal-colored vinyl, exclusively available at HHV.

There are certain truths in life that are simple enough to fit into a few words, but powerful enough to shape entire careers. “No Pressure, No Diamond” is one of those truths. Four words that carry the weight of struggle, perseverence, sacrifice, pain, discipline, and ultimately reward. We live in a world that loves outcomes, but often ignores process. We admire the trophy, but forget the training. We celebrate success, but overlook the sleepless nights. We applaud the finished masterpieces while paying little attention to the countless imperfect drafts that came before it. Everybody wants the shine of the diamond, but not everybody wants the uncomfortable pressure and time it takes to create this most precious gemstone. Think about that while you listen this album for the first time. The color isn’t perfect. The cut is not close to symmetrical. The clarity might be a little cloudy. But, the process is tried and true. No pressure, No Diamond.

The “Heavy Is The Crown” LP by Anderson .Paak & Cordae is released on Empire and documents a direct collaboration between the two artists. On this release, Anderson .Paak’s characteristic vocal parts intertwine with Cordae’s precise rap passages, creating a balance between melodic lines and lyrical density. The tracks rely on distinctive rhythms and clear vocal moments; vocal delivery and flow take center stage. More measured sections alternate with more energetic tracks, allowing both sung hooks and extended verbal passages to come to the fore. More expansive use of effects steps back in favor of a concentrated presentation of the voices.

As an LP on Empire, “Heavy Is The Crown” emphasizes the physical presentation of the songs; the HHV edition complements the release with a visually striking execution and gives this pressing a clearly recognizable limited-edition identity. Anderson .Paak & Cordae appear on this record as equal partners, the collaboration carrying the shared title motif and expanding both artists’ bodies of work with a clearly focused joint project. In the context of U.S. hip-hop, the record leans on rhythm and verbal precision, highlighting the complementary strengths of Anderson .Paak and Cordae. With this LP, Empire underscores the curated collaboration between the two artists.

ATLiens (1996) is OutKast’s second album and shows a big change from their debut. The sound became darker, more futuristic, and more experimental, combining Southern hip-hop with spacey production and funk. The album explores growing up, fame, spirituality, relationships, Atlanta, and feeling like outsiders. André 3000 became more introspective, while Big Boi developed his confident, technical rap style. Key tracks include “Elevators (Me & You),” “ATLiens,” “Two Dope Boyz (In a Cadillac),” and “Jazzy Belle.” Overall, ATLiens was the album where OutKast began developing their unique, futuristic identity and moved beyond traditional Southern rap.

The “Fair Exchange No Robbery” LP by Nicholas Craven and Boldy James was released on Near Mint and brings the producer and MC together in a clearly focused dialogue. Boldy James provides all the lyrics, while Nicholas Craven supplies the complete beat framework; the collaboration results in a precisely arranged record presented within the context of U.S. hip-hop. Released on September 30, 2022, the production combines Craven’s framing samples and dark grooves with Boldy James’ restrained, controlled delivery.

The recording process was overseen by Mike Shabb, with the mix by Roberto Viglione; the artwork was created by Stack Moolah, while the calligraphic accents come from Shokey. On this Near Mint LP, stripped-back instrumental passages sit alongside detailed breaks, giving Nicholas Craven’s rhythmic work room for concise punchlines. Boldy James makes use of this space with pointed imagery and a compact flow that sharply defines the core of the songs. “Fair Exchange No Robbery” remains cohesive and carefully produced throughout: Near Mint presents a release that stands out through its production concept and vocal clarity, making the distinctive signatures of both contributors clearly recognizable.

The black vinyl edition of the *Organized Konfusion* LP by Organized Konfusion was released on Nature Sounds and marks the 35th anniversary edition of the debut album. After years of limited availability and unofficial bootlegs, this official reissue finally brings the 1991 work back to vinyl and expands the original sequence with three rare bonus tracks that add extra significance for listeners and collectors. Issued as a double LP, it casts both the original album structure and the extended tracks in a new sonic light.

Musically, *Organized Konfusion* captures the duo’s early experimental spirit: Pharoahe Monch and Prince Po showcase exceptional lyrical virtuosity, intricate wordplay, and demanding rhyme schemes that helped shape later underground hip-hop. The productions fuse unexpected sound collages with frenetic drum breaks, while the lyrics range from playful nostalgia and sharp social criticism to surreal explorations of language. Monch’s voice established itself here as a defining force, and Prince Po’s later collaborations with, among others, Danger Mouse, Madlib, Large Professor, and Oh No laid the foundation for a distinctive body of work of his own. With this black vinyl edition, Nature Sounds offers a carefully curated reminder of a pivotal chapter in US hip-hop.

Originally released in June 2009, The Ecstatic stands as a defining artistic statement from Mos Def (now known as yasiin bey) _ a richly textured return to form that rea rmed his status as one of hip-hop's most adventurous and intellectually engaged voices. Arriving a decade after his celebrated debut Black on Both Sides, the album was widely regarded as his strongest work in years, earning near-universal praise for its lyrical breadth, eclectic production, and thematic ambition. Musically, The Ecstatic weaves a global sonic tapestry shaped by an array of forward-thinking producers including Madlib, J Dilla, Oh No, Preservation, Mr. Flash, Chad Hugo (of The Neptunes), and Georgia Anne Muldrow. The resulting soundscape is both rooted in hip-hop tradition and unbound by genre, integrating elements of jazz, soul, Middle-Eastern inflection, and experimental sample work. Tracks like "Supermagic" and "Twilite Speedball" establish a vibrant, restless energy that mirrors the album's expansive creative scope. Lyrically, yasiin bey traverses personal, political, and philosophical terrain with characteristic incisiveness, confronting social inequality, Western imperialism, and questions of cultural identity with poetic urgency. Embracing risk and complexity rather than nostalgia, The Ecstatic remains a mature, deeply felt body of work whose ambition, depth, and enduring resonance have solidified its place as a standout entry in Mos Def's catalog and in modern hip-hop history.

The “Mobbin 4 Life” LP by Sinister is released by Hip Hop Classic and brings the rapper’s sole studio album, originally released in 1994, back for the first time as a vinyl edition. The project was produced entirely by Tony “D” Pizarro, with David Johnson serving as executive producer. This reissue documents the uncompromising perspective of an artist whose lyrics portray survival, loyalty, violence, and incarceration from direct personal experience, now presenting his voice in a format that reflects its historical significance.

Musically, “Mobbin 4 Life” is built on heavy bass lines, distinctive keyboard textures, and programmed drums with clear G-Funk influences that give Sinister’s deep, controlled delivery room to breathe. Contributions from the crew The Mobsters reinforce the collective element, while Kim Armstrong provides harmonic accents on selected tracks. Songs such as “Buck-Em Down,” “Land Of The Living Dead,” “I Won’t Forget You G,” and “Bank Heist” demonstrate the range between direct street narratives and distinctly more melodic moments. The album’s initial release in August 1994 coincided with the artist’s incarceration, limiting its promotion and sales potential; over the years, however, the album went on to achieve cult status. The LP released by Hip Hop Classic finally gives collectors and fans of the West Coast era the opportunity to own this distinctive document of the 1990s on vinyl.

The "Whirlwind Thru Cities / D&D Soundclash" 7" by Afu-Ra is released on D&D. This reissue brings a formative single from the early phase of the artist's career back to vinyl and stays true to the original D&D studio sound that shaped New York hip-hop in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The release is aimed equally at DJs and collectors and fits seamlessly into the line of reissued classics from D&D's history.

"Whirlwind Thru Cities" was originally one of the early singles that established Afu-Ra as a distinctive voice within the Gang Starr Foundation; the track was produced by Joe Roach and features DJ Premier’s characteristic cuts. The B-side "D&D Soundclash" includes guest parts from Cocoa Brovaz (Smif-N-Wessun) and Jahdan Blakkamoore and was created under the direction of Mr. Walt and Evil Dee of Da Beatminerz. Both songs were recorded in the legendary rooms of D&D Studios, which strongly defines their sonic character and production aesthetic.

Originally released in 2000, the single quickly developed into an underground classic and is still considered one of Afu-Ra’s most successful vinyl releases; the crisp production, precise lyricism, and DJ cuts made the record a staple in sets and radio shows. This 7" recaptures that spirit and presents it anew for the current vinyl movement.

The “1, 2 Pass It” 7" by D&D All Stars was released on D&D and features the original version on the A-side and the DJ Premier remix version on the B-side. Produced by DJ Premier, the cut brings together a lineup of Mad Lion, Doug E. Fresh, KRS-One, Fat Joe, Smif‑N‑Wessun, and Jeru the Damaja, who trade concise solo verses over Premier’s signature beat, capturing the characteristic sound of the D&D Studios. The single stands for that phase when New York MC voices came together on one track to create a defining snapshot of East Coast hip-hop.

This reissue comes as a Black Vinyl Edition aimed equally at DJs and collectors, bringing together both versions—original and remix—in a compact 7" format. Recorded and mixed at the legendary D&D Studios in New York, the release showcases both the unfiltered energy and the collaborative touch that made the studio famous; the remix expands the single with an alternative take on the arrangement by Premier. This release complements existing collections of classic ’90s East Coast productions and has been reissued in collaboration with key distribution partners.

The "Stress: The Extinction Agenda" double LP by Organized Konfusion is being made available again for the first time in an expanded double LP format. The black vinyl edition presents the album in a physical form that preserves the focused character of the tracks while also allowing for a more expansive presentation format.

Organized Konfusion, the Queens duo of Pharoahe Monch and Prince Po, showcase on this work a breadth that is unusual for the genre: shifting flows, intricate rhyme structures, and a narrative density that goes beyond straight battle aesthetics. Musically, the album is defined by dark, bass-heavy, jazz‑inflected production that leaves room for the vocal arrangements and underscores the thematic weight of the lyrics.

What ties the 1993/1994 recordings together is a clear producer identity: Organized Konfusion are heavily involved in the beats themselves, complemented by contributions from producers such as Buckwild and Rockwilder, which adds to the tonally dark yet organic sound aesthetic. This reissue brings the historical qualities of this classic back into focus and documents the duo’s formative role within the more sophisticated hip‑hop tradition.

The “Stop Staring At The Shadows” LP by $uicideboy$ comes out on G59 and presents the duo in a focused, dark running time built around twelve songs that total about 26 minutes. The record gathers lyrics that oscillate between self-reflection and aggressive imagery, and offers short, concise arrangements in which hook-driven moments and frantic rap phrases sit tightly side by side. On this record, $uicideboy$ make use of atmospheric, often reverb-distorted synth layers and stripped-down drum patterns that emphasize the vocal shifts from sung passages to tight rap lines, thereby carrying the thematic weight of the songs.

Musically, the tracks range from drifting, almost punk-leaning melodies to futuristic, heavy-hitting beats; tracks like “F**k Your Culture,” “I Wanna Be Romanticized,” and “This Just Isn't Empirically Possible” provide striking reference points within the sequence, while more hushed moments intensify the emotional tension of the two performers. The production deliberately employs contrasts, allowing for repeated, surprising shifts in tempo and mood. On June 21, 2023, the release was certified Gold by the RIAA, further underscoring the significance of “Stop Staring At The Shadows” within the body of work by $uicideboy$ on the G59 label.

HHV exclusive vinyl edition on red w/ beige splatter vinyl, limited to 100 copies.

By the mid-nineties, Mr. Voodoo had established himself in the city’s underground. Coming out of Brooklyn, he was part of the WBAI Underground Railroad circle with J-Smooth, while his radio appearances and freestyles brought his voice into the wider New York scene. Natural Elements — Voodoo, L-Swift, A-Butta and the wider circle around them — were building their reputation at the same time, through records, battles, radio and live sessions. With Charlemagne behind the boards, they developed a sound of their own, while the MCs pushed their writing, delivery and technical skills in a city where the standard was high.

This was New York in the mid-nineties: WBAI and Stretch & Bobbito on the radio, crews crossing paths, new records constantly appearing, and a generation of MCs taking the craft further in their own direction. Natural Elements were right in the middle of that movement, and Voodoo’s voice was one of its most distinctive.

His recordings from those years capture the breadth of that period. The 1996 “Lyrical Tactics” 12-inch — with “Lyrical Tactics,” “Shine” and “Hemlock,” all produced by Charlemagne — sits at the center of a much larger body of work recorded around the same time.

HHE now proudly brings you the "Lyrical Tactics LP" which compiles all that material together for the first time.

HHV Exclusive Edition, limited to 500 units. De La Souls Stakes Is High captures the group at a crucial turning point: older, sharper, and completely locked in. Released in 1996, the album marked their fourth full-length and their first without Prince Paul, opening the door to a tougher, more stripped-back sound led in part by a young J Dilla on the title track. That lead single became one of De La's signature statements, peaking at No. 53 on Billboards Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, while the album reached No. 4 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. But numbers only tell part of the story Stakes Is High remains such a vital listen because it hears De La Soul confronting the mid-90s head-on, with wit, frustration, and a deep sense of artistic confidence. From The Bizness to Itzsoweezee (hot), the album balances soulful production and clear-eyed commentary in a way that still feels fresh decades later. Its one of those records that may not have shouted the loudest on arrival, but its influence and reputation have only grown with time.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary, this 4LP box set includes the original album, Instrumentals, and bonus material on clear vinyl in a book box with a UV print of Dave on the vinyl.

Twentyfith Anniversary Edition on blue vinyl. The Blueprint is one of Jay-Z’s defining albums and one of the most influential hip-hop records of the 2000s.

Released on September 11, 2001, it was Jay-Z’s sixth studio album, issued through Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam. Despite coming out on the day of the 9/11 attacks, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It’s generally viewed as a turning point where Jay-Z combined the commercial confidence of his late-’90s work with warmer, more soulful and introspective production.

A huge part of its reputation comes from the production. Kanye West and Just Blaze, both still relatively early in their careers, provided much of the album’s distinctive sound: sped-up and chopped soul samples, hard drums, and relatively uncluttered arrangements that left plenty of room for Jay-Z. Bink! also made important contributions. The album helped establish the soul-sampling aesthetic that became enormously influential in mainstream hip-hop during the following years.

Some of its key tracks are “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “Takeover,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Jigga That Nigga,” “Heart of the City (Ain’t No Love),” “Never Change,” “Song Cry,” and “Renegade,” featuring Eminem. “Takeover” is especially famous as Jay-Z’s diss track aimed primarily at Nas and Mobb Deep, and it became a central episode in the Jay-Z/Nas rivalry. Nas responded with “Ether.”

What makes The Blueprint interesting beyond the hits is Jay-Z’s writing. There’s plenty of boasting and competitive rap, but tracks such as “Song Cry” and “Never Change” give the record a more reflective side. “Renegade” is another landmark—the only track on the original album with a guest rapper, with Eminem also producing it.

Its influence is substantial. The album helped propel Kanye West and Just Blaze into the top tier of hip-hop producers, reinforced Jay-Z’s position as one of rap’s dominant figures, and helped make soul-sample-heavy production a defining sound of early-2000s hip-hop. In 2019, the Library of Congress selected The Blueprint for preservation in the National Recording Registry, recognizing it as culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.

Musically, “The Blueprint 3” documents key milestones in Jay-Z’s career. It is the artist’s eleventh studio album and includes a series of prominent guest appearances by Rihanna, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Young Jeezy, Drake, J. Cole, Kid Cudi, Pharrell Williams, and other contributors. Producers such as Timbaland, No I.D., and The Neptunes contribute noticeably to the album’s sonic diversity. Among its best-known singles are “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune),” “Run This Town,” and “Empire State of Mind,” which had a major impact on the album and drew both commercial and critical attention. This release captures the characteristic combination of stadium-ready hooks, elaborate production, and Jay-Z’s reflective lyrics, bringing the album to white vinyl in a collectible physical edition.

The legacy of Sunz Of Man returns in a powerful and carefully restored form with Da Last Future, a release that bridges past and present in a way never heard before. This project is more than just an album, it’s a reconstruction of history, offering listeners a renewed perspective on some of the group’s most essential material.

Before they were known as Sunz Of Man, the group originally operated under the name Da Last Future. In 1994, they released their very first 12” single, marking the beginning of their journey. At that time, the foundation of the crew was formed by four core emcees: Hell Razah, Prodigal Sunn, 7th Ambassador, and Killah Priest, alongside producer Su-Preme. As the group evolved into Sunz Of Man, the lineup expanded with the addition of 60 Second Assassin (notably Ol' Dirty Bastard’s cousin) and Shabazz the Disciple, further shaping their identity.

By 1995, the group had secured a deal with Wu-Tang/Priority Records, solidifying their place within the extended Wu-Tang movement. Their rise culminated in the release of The Last Shall Be First in 1998, a landmark album that reached No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and No. 7 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, cementing their legacy in hip-hop history.

A number of tracks featured on Da Last Future originate from The First Testament, but they appear here in reworked versions, presented with entirely new mixes. Several mid-90s unreleased tracks also appear on the project, further enriching this deep dive into the group’s early era. For the first time ever, these recordings are available in their highest possible quality, the result of an extensive audio restoration process carried out by multiple skilled sound engineers. Every effort has been made to preserve the original spirit while elevating the sound to modern standards.

The outcome is nothing less than the best, cleanest, and most refined Sunz Of Man material ever released on a physical format, delivering a listening experience that does justice to the group’s enduring influence and raw artistry.

This release is strictly limited, making it a true collector’s piece

The "Non-Fiction" LP by Black Sheep is released on Music On Vinyl as a double LP, bringing back the Queens-based hip-hop duo’s second album, originally issued in 1994. Music On Vinyl retains the album’s original sequence and presents "Non-Fiction" in its familiar album form, spotlighting the well-known singles "Without A Doubt" and "North South East West."

Musically, "Non-Fiction" documents the further development of Black Sheep: Dres and Mista Lawnge maintain their distinctive lyrical delivery, while the production comes largely from within the group’s own circle. Select mix versions and remixes— including versions of "Without A Doubt"—were handled by Salaam Remi. The record combines narrative-driven lyrics with arrangements that reference jazz and soulful elements, shaping the album’s structure and allowing the tracks to largely preserve their original sequence and impact. This edition on Music On Vinyl once again showcases the 1994 material and makes "Non-Fiction" available again to collectors and listeners who follow the Native Tongues era.

The *The Renaissance* LP by Q-Tip was released on Motown and marked the rapper and producer’s return after a longer break from releasing music; the 2008 album is regarded as his second official solo effort and delivers a concise running time with carefully arranged tracks. The record combines classic hip-hop elements with an open, band-oriented approach, with Q-Tip handling production duties for the majority of the tracks.

Musically, the release sits in the realm of progressive hip hop: warm, jazz-related samples meet real instrumentation and rhythmic live parts that lend the rhythmic foundation more organic depth. The singles include “Gettin’ Up,” “Move,” and “Life Is Better,” with “Move” standing out as a contribution from J Dilla, creating a direct connection to the production tradition of the Ummah collective.

Guest vocalists and musicians such as D’Angelo, Norah Jones, Raphael Saadiq, and Amanda Diva round out the sound and give individual tracks an additional soulful coloring. Critics praised the stylistic coherence and the production; the album earned strong review scores and received, among other honors, a Grammy nomination in the rap category.

The colored vinyl edition of the “Trapper's Alley 3: Hell or High Water HHV Exclusive Transparent Purple Vinyl Edition” LP by Boldy James & Nicholas Craven has been released on Near Mint.

On this three-part project, Boldy James once again remains true to his laconic narrative style; his voice and the precise, unadorned imagery define the songs and firmly anchor them in street-oriented gangsta rap. Nicholas Craven provides the instrumental foundation: carefully layered samples, dark loops, and a stripped-back, sometimes seemingly drumless production that directs attention to Boldy’s density and timing.

The collaboration fits logically into the line of earlier Craven productions and underscores the duo’s artistic continuity; recurring themes and the uncompromising atmosphere of the Trapper's Alley series are carried forward here. The advance single “Summer’s Eve” serves as a signpost, offering a clear idea of the album’s sonic direction.

Overall, “Trapper's Alley 3” combines Boldy James’s narrative precision with Nicholas Craven’s minimally dense production approach, resulting in a focused, character-rich chapter in the duo’s shared body of work.

The release comprises 19 tracks and roughly 67 minutes of playing time; the deluxe version expands the album with instrumental versions, with producer PA. Dre’s touch running consistently throughout and providing the record with a cohesive, sample-driven foundation.

Inspectah Deck remains present as storyteller and technician: his lines stand in direct dialogue with guests such as Raekwon, Cappadonna, Skyzoo, KXNG Crooked, Sa-Roc, Che Noir, as well as underground-rooted voices like Mickey Factz and RJ Payne. Songs like “Never Fold” and “Shaolin Rebel 2” fuse classic Shaolin nods with contemporary lyricism, while tracks like “The System” and “Up At Night” span the range from narrative sketches to direct street references. PA. Dre’s production leans on hard-hitting drums, gritty samples, and arrangement details that leave space for the rap passages.

For collectors and listeners who value instrumental versions, the Limited Deluxe Edition of “Dragon's Breath” provides a complete counterpart to the vocal material and underscores Inspectah Deck’s role as a precise, uncompromising MC within the contemporary U.S. hip-hop landscape.

Almost three decades after they formed one of the most enduring creative partnerships in underground hip-hop, Aesop Rock and Blockhead reunite for *Trouble Mountain* – a new album that grapples with escape, survival, and the strange terrain of everyday life. Inspired by the nostalgic promise of Poconos resort commercials that flooded New York’s airwaves during their childhood, the album sketches out the vision of a fictional refuge where the search for a fresh start turns out to be just as disorienting as the reality left behind. As Aesop Rock’s 13th studio album, *Trouble Mountain* arrives and shows that his songwriting is as inventive as ever – he transforms family history, work, memory, and the absurd mechanisms of modern life into vivid, deeply human reflections. Blockhead’s production is just as crucial, fusing the duo’s unmistakable chemistry with sleek, evolving soundscapes that feel both familiar and new. Together, they return to the themes that have defined their work since *Labor Days*: work, alienation, and the persistent hope that somewhere else there’s a place we’d rather be. Instead of offering an escape, *Trouble Mountain* asks why we’re always searching for one – and in doing so delivers one of the duo’s most imaginative and haunting collaborations to date.

The “Crazy” 7" by Doechii is released on Capitol and brings the song to vinyl as a single; this 7" combines the well-known track “Crazy” with the additional B-side “Pacer.” The 7" released on Capitol clearly emphasizes the single-focused presentation, translating the song’s original release into a compact pressing format and offering both collectors and listeners a physical edition. Doechii is at the center of this release, with Capitol accompanying the single as the official label.

Musically, “Crazy” is built on a clear, meticulously produced structure; the track was produced by Kal Banx and features a striking vocal performance by Doechii that leaves room in the arrangement for dynamic shifts. Manny Marroquin’s mix gives the song defined spatial contours, while the mastering by Demitrius Lewis II provides the final balance. The B-side “Pacer” adds another song by the artist to the 7", rounding out the single as a compact statement from Doechii on Capitol.

The yellow, black vinyl edition of the “Sock It 2 My Pocket” LP by Rome Streetz is released on Rome Streetz and comes as a double LP. The color-accented pressing translates the album’s dense, urban atmosphere into a physical format and provides room for the project’s expansive tracklist.

Musically, Rome Streetz remains committed to gritty, New York-bred street rap, but here he expands his range through varied beats and narrative depth. Themes such as loyalty, caution, and a reckoning with his personal past run throughout the album; tracks like “.22” and “Belt 2 Ass” stand out for their striking imagery and direct storytelling. This thematic depth gives the work a dimension that goes beyond a purely battle-focused attitude.

The sonic variety is supplied by producers from different generations of hip-hop: names like Pete Rock, The Alchemist, Havoc, 9th Wonder, Conductor Williams, and Denny LaFlare appear in the credits, along with collaborative contributions from Styles P, Lloyd Banks, Westside Gunn, IDK, and OX OMNI. The fusion of classic boom-bap aesthetics with modern beat construction underscores Rome Streetz’s ability to deliver uncompromising rhymes within varied arrangements.

In the U.S. hip-hop realm, the record combines classic group dynamics with contemporary beat structures; the album’s producers are A-Plus, Domino, and DJ Toure, with mixing and mastering handled by Starski. The tracklist is structured to highlight shifting lineups: on “All Said And Done,” A-Plus, Pep Love, and Phesto Dee appear together, while “Eyes Wide Shut” puts the focus on A-Plus, Del the Funky Homosapien, and Pep Love. Other cuts lean on tight back-and-forth vocal exchanges and densely packed rhyme chains, complemented by hand-drawn cover illustrations by Shomari Smith. The "Fall-Off" LP by J. Cole is released on Interscope and brings the tracks from his 2026 double album to vinyl. The compilation transfers the thematic range of the work to a physical format: reflective, narrative songs sit alongside more directly delivered cuts, so that the album as a whole spans both intimate moments and more powerful arrangements.

J. Cole, known for his narrative density, precise rhyme technique, and keen sense for cohesive production, relies on both his own beats and collaborations with guests such as Future and Tems for this album. The involvement of producers like Powers Pleasant and Kelvin Wooten broadens the sonic palette, blending soulful samples with organic instrumentation and contemporary hip-hop rhythms. As a result, the record remains stylistically diverse without losing the artist’s consistent signature.

The HHV edition is aimed at buyers who appreciate special pressings: the understated Porcelain Powder Transparent look gives the release an elegant feel and turns the LP into an archival snapshot of this chapter in J. Cole’s discography, placing production, features, and songwriting equally in the spotlight.

Limited edition of 1000 copies worldwide on neon orange vinyl, 500 in Europe available exclusively at HHV.

Released on G59, the LP "Long Term Effects Of Suffering" presents the second studio album by duo $uicideboy$ and brings together thirteen compact tracks that translate the group’s distinctive songwriting and tight arrangements to the physical format.

Musically, the work moves within the dark spectrum of underground hip-hop: bass-heavy, often spatially staged beats, distorted samples, and a bleak sonic aesthetic provide the framework for the dense, at times disturbing lyrics. Thematically, the tracks revolve around existential crises, loss, and the consequences of addiction, with the two voices of Ruby da Cherry and $crim articulating the inner conflicts directly and unfiltered.

Sonically, the record clearly bears the group’s imprint: a large part of the production comes from Scott Arceneaux Jr. ($crim aka Budd Dwyer), complemented by contributions from Caldeira, UV Killin Em, JBento, and PVLACE, resulting in a cohesive yet varied soundscape. The concise running time and the memorable, extended song titles underscore the focused narrative flow of this release and make the HHV Exclusive Neon Orange Vinyl Edition a characteristic document of $uicideboy$’s current work.

The “Al-Andalus” LP by Cookin Soul and Estee Nack is released on Cookin Soul Records, combining raw, soul-infused boom-bap with razor-sharp street narratives. Estee Nack delivers pointed, vivid lines, while Cookin Soul lays down arrangements built on dusty samples, hard-hitting drums, and warm soul tones. The result feels immediate and uncompromising, with the sparse yet deeply rooted beats adding extra edge to every line. The production relies on stripped-down, weighty grooves that keep the focus on the lyrics and give the album a dense, gritty atmosphere.

Musically, “Al-Andalus” features a concise song structure: the record contains eleven tracks, including collaborations with Planet Asia, Lil Supa, and Yung Beef, which are woven into the concept as carefully placed bursts of color. Every song was produced, mixed, and mastered by Cookin Soul; the lyrics were written primarily by Estee Nack and the featured guests. The artwork is by Torre Pentel, giving the visual presentation a distinctive character and complementing the album’s lyrical density. “Al-Andalus” remains direct in its language and rooted in tradition in its production—a release that clearly conveys the weight and origins of the artists involved.

"Combining the brilliance of Dilla's Donuts album with various MF Doom songs to create J Villain: DOOMnuts. This is a tribute to both artists, both gone too soon and both geniuses in their own right. Never truly got to combine their forces on any projects while they were here, this album imagines what a dream collaboration such as this would sound like."

The LP *Amplified* by Q-Tip marks the artist’s solo debut and captures the transition in his work from the jazz-rooted aesthetic of A Tribe Called Quest to more hard-hitting, club-ready arrangements. Originally released in 1999, it came out through major labels Sony and Arista, who handled the album’s distribution.

Musically, *Amplified* blends warm, jazzy samples with contemporary beats; the sound is largely defined by co-productions from Q-Tip and Jay Dee (J Dilla), complemented by select contributions from DJ Scratch. The record offers both dancefloor-oriented singles like “Vivrant Thing” and “Breathe and Stop” and more experimental passages, causing it to oscillate between mainstream appeal and deeper substance. Guest appearances from Busta Rhymes and the unusual collaboration with Korn on “End of Time” broaden the album’s scope.

Style-wise, Q-Tip is characterized by smooth flows, incisive phrasing, and a strong melodic sense in his rapping; his production leans on layered samples, warm bass lines, and targeted percussion that give the album an organic yet polished sound. *Amplified* presents the artist as vocalist, producer, and arranger, and stands as an important milestone in his evolution as a solo artist.

Limited edition on transparent orange colored vinyl, available exclusively at HHV.

The “Bread & Butter” LP by Your Old Droog is released by Nature Sounds and presents the album in a clearly recognizable special edition as an LP on transparent orange vinyl. This edition emphasizes the physical character of the release and brings the album format to the forefront without referencing other versions or variants. Nature Sounds serves as the label for the release and provides the formal context for the record.

Musically, “Bread & Butter” stands in the tradition of U.S. hip-hop that Your Old Droog has cultivated throughout his work to date: concise, lyric-centered rap performances over production-wise dense, sample-based beats. The “Bread & Butter” LP uses this approach to place Your Old Droog’s voice and narrative attention to detail at the center; the release thus offers a direct point of access to the artist’s signature style. For fans of Your Old Droog, the Nature Sounds edition represents a clearly focused addition, presenting the album in a distinctly visible colored-vinyl package.

Limited edition (100) on gold vinyl with black marbling, available exclusively at HHV.

The gold-and-black-marbled colored vinyl edition of the "The Book Of Shabazz II (Missing Scrollz)" LP by Shabazz The Disciple was released on Hip Hop Enterprise and collects the artist’s solo recordings that were not included on the first volume. The compilation focuses on material recorded predominantly in the 1990s and serves as a companion chapter to the first collection (“Missing Scrollz”), with a selection that emphasizes the gritty, unpolished character of the early cuts.

Shabazz The Disciple has established himself as one of the darker, more esoteric voices within the extended Wu-Tang orbit; his style weaves together apocalyptic imagery, spiritual symbolism, and densely layered narratives that clearly stand apart from conventional street portrayals. Classics like "Crime Saga" continue to shape the perception of his influence in the underground to this day.

Sonically, the compilation features production by Carlos “C12” Bess, Freestyle (The Arsonists), Irfane, Dropsect, and other collaborators; the release comes as a gatefold LP with hype sticker and uses dedicated masters for vinyl and CD. Another feature is a track-by-track commentary by Shabazz himself, complemented by artwork by simonoetanglxd and mastering credits that underscore the historical dimension of this addendum to the artist’s career.

40 Dayz & 40 Nightz is Xzibit's second studio album, released on August 25, 1998, through Loud Records and RCA. Widely regarded as one of the strongest West Coast hip-hop albums of the late 1990s, it marked a significant step forward from his debut, At the Speed of Life, and established Xzibit as one of the most respected lyricists of his generation. The album's critical success also helped pave the way for his later collaboration with Dr. Dre on Restless (2000), which would introduce him to a much broader audience.

Musically, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz blends the gritty, boom-bap-inspired sound of the Likwit Crew with classic West Coast production. Unlike the polished, G-funk-driven records that dominated earlier in the decade, the album favors hard drums, dark basslines, soulful samples, and stripped-back arrangements that place the emphasis squarely on Xzibit's commanding voice and intricate lyricism. Production is shared between Sir Jinx, Bud'da, E-Swift, Soopafly, Mel-Man, Jesse West, and Xzibit himself, creating a cohesive yet varied sonic landscape.

The album showcases Xzibit at his lyrical peak. His deep, authoritative delivery is matched by sharp wordplay, intelligent social commentary, and vivid storytelling. Rather than relying solely on street narratives, he explores themes of personal struggle, authenticity, ambition, loyalty, and the realities of life in Los Angeles. His lyrics often criticize fake personas in hip-hop while emphasizing honesty and resilience, making the album feel both confrontational and introspective.

Although primarily a solo effort, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz features appearances from key members of the Likwit Crew and other respected lyricists, including King Tee, Tha Alkaholiks, Defari, Ras Kass, Saafir, Jayo Felony, and Method Man of the Wu-Tang Clan. One of the album's highlights, "3 Card Molly," brings together Xzibit, Ras Kass, and Saafir—collectively known as the Golden State Project—for a lyrical showcase that many fans consider one of the greatest posse cuts in West Coast hip-hop.

Among the album's standout tracks are "What U See Is What U Get," Xzibit's breakthrough single and highest-charting song at the time, celebrated for its memorable hook and straightforward message about authenticity. Other highlights include "Los Angeles Times," a vivid portrait of life in the city; "Focus," an introspective examination of determination and perseverance; "Shroomz," a cinematic storytelling track; and "Recycled Assassins," which closes the album on a reflective and emotionally powerful note. "3 Card Molly" remains a fan favorite for its elite lyricism and chemistry between the three MCs.

Commercially, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz debuted at number 58 on the Billboard 200 and number 14 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. While it was not an immediate blockbuster, it significantly expanded Xzibit's audience and earned widespread critical acclaim. Today, many critics and longtime fans consider it his finest album, praising its balance of lyrical excellence, cohesive production, and uncompromising artistic vision. Its success also caught the attention of Dr. Dre, leading to Xzibit's prominent role on 2001 and the Up in Smoke Tour, which transformed him from an underground favorite into a mainstream West Coast star.

Don't Tap the Glass is Tyler, the Creator's ninth studio album, released on July 21, 2025, through Columbia Records. It arrived as a surprise release less than a year after Chromakopia, making it one of the quickest follow-ups in his career. Unlike many of his previous albums, Don't Tap the Glass does not revolve around a single narrative or fictional character. Instead, it focuses on creating an energetic, immersive listening experience centered on movement and participation. The album's title reflects Tyler's idea that people should stop watching from the sidelines—like spectators tapping on the glass of an exhibit—and instead engage with the music by dancing and enjoying the moment. He explained that the concept was inspired in part by seeing concert audiences spend more time recording performances on their phones than actually experiencing them.

Musically, the album marks a shift toward dance-oriented sounds, blending hip-hop with influences from house, techno, funk, Miami bass, and rap-house. The production emphasizes driving rhythms, infectious grooves, and high-energy performances while maintaining Tyler's distinctive style. At just over 28 minutes long and consisting of ten tracks, it is the shortest studio album of his career. Tyler produced the entire project himself, with guest appearances from artists including Pharrell Williams, Madison McFerrin, and Yebba.

Songs such as "Stop Playing With Me," "Ring Ring Ring," and "Sugar on My Tongue" became early standouts, with "Stop Playing With Me" gaining additional attention through its music video featuring several high-profile cameos. The album received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its concise runtime, inventive production, and willingness to prioritize fun, rhythm, and movement over complex storytelling. As a result, Don't Tap the Glass occupies a unique place in Tyler's discography: it is less introspective than Chromakopia, less conceptual than IGOR, and more deliberately designed to get listeners dancing than any of his previous projects.

The 7" "Whirlwind Thru Cities / D&D Soundclash HHV Exclusive White Vinyl Edition" by Afu Ra on D&D brings together two distinctive sides that sharply document the artist’s early New York hip-hop. The A-side features "Whirlwind Thru Cities," a track with a straight boom-bap aesthetic and dense sample work, produced by DJ Roach; the B-side carries the eponymous "D&D Soundclash," which appears on some versions as a collaboration with Cocoa Brovaz.

Afu Ra is closely connected with the Gang Starr Foundation and the circle around Jeru the Damaja, which shapes his approach to flow and punchlines. His tracks combine classic sample-based craftsmanship with a distinctly rhythmic delivery that appeals to both DJs and listeners.

"Whirlwind Thru Cities" is known for its sample sources, including motifs from Les McCann and The Coasters, which give the track its characteristic texture. The tight song structure and the instrumental versions have earned it lasting presence in DJ sets and among collectors.

This D&D release stands in the tradition of New York studio practice, which combines gritty beats with meticulous production, and offers a focused snapshot of Afu Ra’s style in its early phase.

Formed in the Boston area in the early 1990s, God Complex consisted of 7L (DJ/Producer), Esoteric (MC), and KARMA (MC), with Madsol (Producer/DJ) serving as an early collaborator and mentor. 7L and KARMA had already begun making beats together in high school when they connected with Esoteric through his college radio show north of Boston. Madsol helped shape the group’s early sound, getting them into studio sessions and onto independent radio while producing many of their demos and earliest recordings.

Between 1993 and 1996, the group recorded a raw body of work built from dusty samples, hard drums, battle rhymes, obscure sci-fi references, and comic-book mythology—the early DNA of what was to come.

Their first and only proper 12" arrived in 1996, a split release with AOI issued by the fledgling Boston independent Brick Records. From there, 7L and Esoteric continued together, building one of hip-hop’s longest-running creative partnerships, ultimately leading to CZARFACE. KARMA shifted his focus from audio to visual, designing and shaping the graphic identity of the extensive 7LES catalog—a creative relationship that continues today. Madsol continued behind the boards and decks, moving to New York and founding Hi-Rise Records.

Never conceived or realized as a proper album, these ten tracks were hand-picked by the group as an essential starting point—creative sparks that laid the foundation for a universe still expanding more than three decades later.

"Originally released during the peak of Busta Rhymes' breakthrough era, ""Dangerous (Soul Society Remix)"" is one of the most sought-after alternative versions of the classic hit taken from the platinum-selling album When Disaster Strikes.... The remix delivers a heavier, club-oriented production while preserving the explosive energy, rapid-fire flow, and unmistakable charisma that established Busta Rhymes as one of hip-hop's most innovative artists of the late 1990s.

The Soul Society Remix became particularly popular among DJs and collectors thanks to its powerful bassline, built around the officially licensed sample of Queen's ""Another One Bites the Dust"", its undeniable dancefloor appeal, and its distinctive reinterpretation of the original track. Combining hard-hitting beats, a strong soulful chorus performed by Lalomie Washburn, and Busta's commanding vocal delivery, the remix perfectly captures the crossover sound that dominated urban clubs and radio playlists throughout the late '90s.

With this newly remastered version, the track sounds fresher and more relevant than ever, proving its timeless appeal for both longtime fans and a new generation of listeners.

A standout example of hip-hop remix culture, ""Dangerous (Soul Society Remix)"" remains a favorite among fans of classic East Coast rap, golden-era club remixes, and collectors of rare Busta Rhymes releases. The track showcases the creative remix approach that helped extend the success of the original single and further cemented Busta Rhymes' reputation as one of hip-hop's most dynamic and influential performers.

The “10 Bricks” 7" by Raekwon is released on Fat Beats / Ice H20 as a Coke Bottle Clear vinyl edition and features guest appearances by Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna. This exclusive 7" centers on a single standout track and presents the song in packaging that will appeal to collectors: Coke Bottle Clear vinyl, a full-color picture jacket, and an OBI strip complete the presentation.

Musically, the release showcases J Dilla’s unmistakable production, giving Raekwon, Ghostface, and Cappadonna room for sharp verses and dense street imagery alike. “10 Bricks” originally appeared on Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II (2009) and already benefited then from Dilla’s gritty, driving sonic aesthetic; on this 7" the vocal version appears on side A, while the instrumental is found on side B and makes this pressing a functional reference for DJs and sample-based producers.

This new Fat Beats / Ice H20 edition represents the first dedicated 7" release for “10 Bricks”; previously the track was available solely as the B-side of a Japan-exclusive 12" featuring “House of Flying Daggers.” In the context of the recent recognition of the Shaolin crew, including the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, this 7" delivers a precise, lovingly crafted addition for fans of Raekwon, J Dilla, and the wider Wu-Tang universe.

The "Thank You Limited Purple Vinyl Edition" by Mike D compiles the Beastie Boys alumnus’ solo debut as a colored LP and presents a sound aesthetic that moves between post-electronic grooves and playful, beat-driven collages. The production leans on dense, melodic hooks and relaxed to surprising arrangements that put Mike D’s distinctive voice front and center while leaving room for electronic textures and organic instrumentation.

Behind the project is a tight-knit circle of collaborators: the sessions featured, among others, his sons Skyler and Davis as well as Carter Lang, Jared Solomon, Ging, Jason Lader, Eddie Ruscha, and Tyran Donaldson, giving the album a collaborative, familial feel. The material was mixed by Derek “MixedByAli” Ali and mastered by Nicolas de Porcel, keeping the arrangements clearly defined.

The special edition places a strong emphasis on presentation: the striking artwork was created in collaboration with Can Can Press, Thad Higa, and Charles Deroyan, and the release includes thirteen tracks that map out the album’s narrative and sonic arc. It all started back in 1987 when Madsol formed a rap duo with the late, great Dialek. They recorded together all the way up until 1995 building a catalog of music that laid the foundation for their lasting legacy in East Coast hip-hop. In 1997, Madsol and Dialek established the production team Knighz Of Muzik, creating countless underground classics for artists including Ed O.G, Scientifik, Concrete Click, Laster, D. Auguste, Da F.E.N.C.E. Men, and many others.

Later in 1997, Madsol relocated to New York City to fully pursue his music career as a producer, DJ, and recording artist. That same year, he founded Hi-Rise Records, one of New York City's premier independent underground hip-hop labels. Bridging the gap between the streets and the industry, Hi-Rise Records became known for its authentic lyricism and uncompromising production. The label released the first official recording by Immortal Technique and went on to release acclaimed underground recordings featuring Talib Kweli, Esoteric, The Last Emperor, and other influential artists.

Hip-Hop Enterprise now proudly presents a project with previously unreleased recordings from DJ Madsol Desar and Krumbsnatcha. We have one track recorded in 1997 at D&D Studios Brooklyn, NY and we have 4 tracks recorded in 2000 at Frame of Art Studios also located in Brooklyn, NY. On the B-Side, we will have all the instrumentals of the project. The timeless production of Madsol combined with vintage Krumb Snatcha from the Snatcha Season era is a definite winner!

Released on Funky Technician, the “I Keep The Crowd Listening” 7" by Lord Finesse delivers a focused, limited single edition of the classic in a compact format. The release includes the DJ Premier remix of “I Keep The Crowd Listening” plus the corresponding instrumental version on the B-side and comes in a heavyweight glossy jacket. This compact presentation puts the spotlight on the production: Premier handles the arrangement, delivering a dense, rhythmically refined rendition that clearly distinguishes itself from the original mix without losing the original drive.

The background of this edition goes back to Funky Technician (1990), the debut album that established Lord Finesse as a precise MC, skilled DJ, and accomplished producer. On the album, Diamond D, DJ Premier, and Showbiz worked on concise, boom bap-oriented tracks; this 7" picks up that aesthetic and shows how Premier sharpens the song structure with the production style he would become known for later on. For collectors and fans of Funky Technician, the single offers a focused snapshot: the reworked version of a key cut in a purist 7" presentation that clearly brings voice and beat to the forefront.

The Reunion LP by Capone-N-Noreaga, released on Tommy Boy, brings together 19 tracks from the year 2000 and marks the duo’s return after their much-acclaimed debut. The record combines street narratives with more melodic moments and uses conceptual skits as connective tissue between the individual cuts.

Musically, The Reunion sits in classic East Coast hip-hop with pronounced hardcore elements: gritty drum patterns, dominant samples, and production that shifts between dark street-level grit and spacious studio aesthetics. Individual tracks like “Invincible” clearly bear Primo’s signature, while “Bang Bang” and “Queens Finest” audibly showcase the distinct work of other beat architects; overall, the record remains committed in delivery and tone to the duo’s urban storytelling style.

Characteristic of Capone-N-Noreaga is the combination of Noreaga’s pointed, often vividly imagistic storytelling and Capone’s rough presence, which together create a high-contrast interplay. On The Reunion, prominent guest spots from Nas, Foxy Brown, Mobb Deep, and Carl Thomas, along with a producer lineup featuring DJ Premier, The Alchemist, Havoc, L.E.S., and Lord Finesse, expand the album’s style-wise range and lend the project additional weight.

The “Itt007” 7" by It Takes Two is released on the label of the same name and continues the series of DJ-oriented 45s from the Hague crew. Founded in 2020 by Deejay Irie and Friss, It Takes Two once again delivers compact DJ tools at 90 BPM with this release: punchy edits, clean intros and outros, and scratch samples specifically designed for sets. Following the quickly sold-out releases 001 through 005, the new 7" builds on the “Edits by DJs for DJs” concept and is aimed at users looking for short, effective cuts for mixing and turntablism.

The A-side is designed as an ode to one of hip-hop’s first beef tracks, combining the source material with a reggae-inspired twist, a clean intro, and a catchy scratch sample that leaves room for creative transitions. The B-side offers the instrumental version of the A-side, making the record a flexible tool for live use and DJ manipulation. Support from the DJ community is already documented: sets by DJ Koco aka Shimokita, DJ Robert Smith, and Marc Hype (Dusty Donuts) are among the early plays. The “Itt007” 7" by It Takes Two stays true to the principle of short, dance-oriented 45s and invites repeated use in club settings with the simple motto, “Buy 2 and have more fun!”

Redman's debut album, Whut? Thee Album, was released on 22 September 1992 and is widely regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop albums of the early 1990s. After gaining recognition through his appearances on EPMD's Business as Usual, Redman established himself as a distinctive solo artist with a style that combined witty lyricism, technical skill, and an unmistakable sense of humour. The album features a blend of energetic, funk-inspired production and imaginative storytelling, with most of the beats produced by Erick Sermon and Redman himself, alongside contributions from Pete Rock. Drawing heavily on samples from Parliament-Funkadelic, James Brown, and other funk artists, the record introduced the warm, groove-driven sound that would become a defining characteristic of Redman's music.

Among the album's standout tracks are "Time 4 Sum Aksion," which became Redman's breakthrough single, "Tonight's Da Night," "Blow Your Mind," and "How to Roll a Blunt," a cult favourite known for its humorous approach. Throughout the album, Redman demonstrates his unique ability to balance aggressive battle-rap techniques with clever wordplay, surreal humour, and a relaxed, conversational delivery. This distinctive style set him apart from many of his contemporaries and later influenced artists such as Eminem, who has frequently cited Redman as one of his greatest inspirations.

Whut? Thee Album was also a commercial success, reaching No. 49 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In 1993, it was certified Gold by the RIAA, confirming its impact beyond the underground hip-hop scene. Over the years, the album has become recognised as a classic of East Coast hip-hop and is often praised as one of the greatest debut albums in the genre. It laid the foundation for Redman's career and paved the way for later critically acclaimed releases such as Dare Iz a Darkside (1994) and Muddy Waters (1996), the latter of which is widely considered his masterpiece.

The album was remastered by Jordan River Recordings and comes as a limited edition of exactly 100 copies in the translucent‑green‑with‑black‑swirl variant; each physical copy also includes a digital folder.

Musically, “Wutang Forever Ever” sits in the realm of classic U.S. hip-hop, built around stripped‑down drum patterns and dark, melodic loops that keep the focus on lyrical storytelling. La The Darkman collaborates on the LP with guests from the extended Wu‑Tang circle: “Nestalgia” features a guest appearance by Masta Killa, “Fentanyl” includes a contribution from RZA, and “Cartier Frames” lists Johnny Cash Money and A1 as featured artists. The production emphasizes clear songwriting and dense arrangements that effectively showcase both the solo passages and the set guest parts. With this release on 1332, La The Darkman presents a concentrated batch of new recordings in which the remastering, collaborations, and the limited vinyl edition are key characteristics.

Released on G59, the LP "Sing Me A Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation" condenses the dark, cross-genre spectrum of $uicideboy$ into a concise album format. Defining features are the heavy, weighty beats and melancholic melodics, paired with elements of G‑funk and slowed‑down R&B moments; this interplay of crushing production and haunting hooks shapes the sound and gives the lyrics room for direct, often unflinching reflections. Production is handled primarily by $crim under the alias Budd Dwyer, in line with the duo’s established sonic signatures.

On "Sing Me A Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation," $uicideboy$ channel their experiences from New Orleans into a blend of underground rap, punk‑leaning aggression, and alternative Southern aesthetics; driving drum programming meets densely layered samples and raw vocal performances. Tracks like "Genesis" and "$uicideboy$ Were Better In 2015" showcase the range from atmospheric intro pieces to pointed, almost ironic statements aimed at the scene. The physical edition underscores the production with a clear, direct presentation that is appealing to both longtime fans and newcomers to the duo’s work.

The “Mic Tyson” LP by Sean Price was released on Duck Down and documents the Brooklyn MC’s 2012 solo album. The record follows in the line of his previous work and once again positions Price as a gritty, quick‑witted representative of New York hip hop, with direct delivery and sharply defined punchlines.

Rooted in his work as part of Heltah Skeltah and the Boot Camp Clik, Sean Price is deeply anchored in classic East Coast rap; the album builds on that heritage while also bringing a biting dose of humor and acerbic everyday satire into the lyrics. The arrangements stay down‑to‑earth, shaped by clear drum patterns, distinctive samples, and pointed hooks that put Price’s characteristic delivery front and center.

For the production, Price drew on a wide field of producers: credits include The Alchemist, 9th Wonder, Khrysis, Statik Selektah, Evidence, and Beat Butcha, as well as Team Demo and DJ Babu. Guest verses come from peers such as Ruste Juxx, Ill Bill, Buckshot, Pharoahe Monch, Torae, and other voices from the street‑rap scene, giving the album a range of collaborations that combine dense, punchline‑oriented rap craftsmanship with variety.

The 7" titled "More Soup (2020 Potatohead People Instrumental) / Frank & Beans HHV Exclusive Vinyl Edition" brings together the key collaboration between Moka O. & MF DOOM and supplements it with an instrumental rendition. The A-side presents the SixToo-produced original featuring MF DOOM’s distinctive guest appearance, plus a newly updated instrumental version by Potatohead People; the flip side offers another classic from the Moka archive with "Frank & Beans." This compilation is being released officially on vinyl for the first time.

Moka O. & MF DOOM unite two very different voices in hip-hop here: Moka O. brings his melodic, often jazzy production and rap tradition from the Canadian scene, while MF DOOM’s intricate rhyme techniques and idiosyncratic flow patterns provide striking contrasts. Stylistically, the track stays close to classic boom-bap, built on dry drums and warm samples, and relies on dense, lyric-driven structures that characterize both artists.

The production credits for the record are clearly laid out: SixToo is responsible for the original production, Potatohead People supply the 2020 instrumental version, and "Frank & Beans" is credited as a track produced by Moka himself—contrary to the widespread attribution to J Dilla. The edition highlights the curated selection and the production stories behind the tracks.

The release brings the thematically charged, holiday‑themed material of the Boston rapper to LP format and stands out as a key entry in his 2025 output. With its striking vinyl execution, the edition emphasizes the record’s collectible character without overshadowing the songs’ direct, street‑driven storytelling.

The record comprises nine tracks and features several guest appearances: “Uncle Sam Murder Spree” with BLUEHILLBILL, “Belichick” with al.divino, and “La Vida” with Dun Dealy are among the standout songs that sharpen the project’s thematic focus. Producers such as BoneWeso and GRiMM Doza contributed to the sonic design, delivering more direct, attacking beats that support Borirock’s distinctive delivery. This LP edition on Near Mint thus extends the artist’s release catalog and offers fans of the U.S. hip‑hop scene a physical version of the 2025 project.

OutKast’s debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik (1994), helped put Atlanta and Southern hip-hop on the map. Produced largely by Organized Noize, it mixes funk, soul, heavy bass, and Southern car culture. OutKast—André 3000 and Big Boi, still teenagers—rap mainly about Atlanta life, partying, hustling, relationships, and ambition. Key songs include “Player’s Ball,” “Git Up, Git Out,” “Hootie Hoo,” and “Crumblin’ Erb.” The album was successful and established OutKast as major newcomers. Its importance goes beyond sales: OutKast helped prove that Southern rap had its own identity and deserved national attention—a point André famously summed up in 1995 with “The South got something to say.”

The "Krs-One" by KRS-One presents the New York rapper’s self-titled solo album entry as an LP on Sony and bundles the musical ethos that defines him as a mediator of knowledge and an advocate of direct, boom‑bap‑oriented hip‑hop. Released in 1995, the record stands in the tradition of harder East Coast productions and delivers punchy beats with sharp, lyrically dense rhymes.

Style-wise, KRS‑One moves between classic boom‑bap and politically driven street rap; his voice and delivery shape the overall impression, while the arrangements leave room for distinctive scratches and loop-based sample work. The record features a host of renowned producers, including DJ Premier, Diamond D, Showbiz, Norty Cotto, and KRS‑One himself, resulting in a varied yet confident production palette. Guest spots from Busta Rhymes, Das EFX, Fat Joe, and Channel Live add further highlights.

The songs range from combative battle tracks to explicitly political cuts; the record addresses social issues and self-empowerment in equal measure without sacrificing groove. The combination of didactic ambition and street-level urgency makes "Krs-One" a striking document of the mid‑’90s and a central chapter in the work of KRS‑One.

Slick Rick, born Ricky Martin Lloyd Walters, is a British‑American hip‑hop artist who rose to prominence as part of Doug E. Fresh & The Get Fresh Crew in the mid 80s. Their songs “La Di Da Di” and “The Show” are widely regarded as early hip‑hop classics. His debut album, The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, featuring the signature track “Children’s Story,” was released in 1988.

Behind Bars is the third studio album by Slick Rick, released in 1994 on Def Jam Recordings. It peaked at #51 on the Billboard 200 and #11 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip‑Hop Albums chart. The album was recorded while Rick was on furlough from prison, with some tracks built around vocals recorded years earlier. Additional recording took place during a 1993 work‑release period.

The album produced two singles showcasing Slick Rick’s classic storytelling style, “Behind Bars” and “Sittin’ in My Car”. Production was handled by Warren G, Greg Nice, Paul Huston, Easy Mo Bee, and Slick Rick himself. Remixes were contributed by Pete Rock for “I’m Captive,” “Get a Job” and The Large Professor for “It’s a Boy”. Guest appearances include Nice & Smooth on “Let’s All Get Down”, Warren G on "Behind Bars" and hip-hop veteran Doug E. Fresh on "Sittin' In My Car". Influential hip-hop and lifestyle magazine Vibe praised the album, noting that “Rick’s legendary street brilliance and sparkling, charming wit can even be distilled from behind bars.”

Behind Bars is available on black vinyl and includes an insert.

The "I Want To Die In New Orleans HHV Exclusive Ruby Ghost Vinyl Edition" by $uicideboy$ presents the duo’s debut album as an LP on G59, bringing together the original 14 tracks in a compact physical release. The album is defined by a dark sonic aesthetic rooted in New Orleans: brooding, often ominous instrumentals meet hardcore hip-hop and cloud rap elements, while the lyrics repeatedly address themes such as depression, drugs, and suicidal thoughts. $uicideboy$ — consisting of cousins $crim and Ruby da Cherry — channel the raw energy of their early EPs into a cohesive album format.

Musically, the production is characterized by stripped-down yet precisely arranged beats, handled primarily by $crim under the producer alias Budd Dwyer; on "Phanton Menace," a co-production with Juicy J is credited, and the finale "I No Longer Fear the Razor Guarding My Heel (IV)" features a guitar interlude by Ruby da Cherry. The use of local samples, short song structures, and dense, atmospheric production make this LP on G59 a concise chapter in the duo’s body of work.

Limited bundle edition of 300 copies of IAMNOBODI's "The Aftermath Principle" and "Duality & Devotion".

“The Aftermath Principle” is an instrumental album by IAMNOBODI about movement, setbacks and what comes next. Across twelve tracks, the Berlin-based producer develops a loose narrative of ascent, failure and starting over. Titles like “First Ascent”, “First Fall” and “The Cost of Continuing” point the way without telling the listener what to make of them. Musically, IAMNOBODI moves between hip-hop, soul and R&B, combining warm chords, restrained drums, synths and subtle shifts that keep reshaping seemingly simple ideas. The three “Between Attempts” pieces connect the different stages along the way, before “Finale: The Aftermath Principle” brings the record full circle. A calm, reflective beat album about falling down, carrying on and everything that happens in between.

With “Duality & Devotion”, IAMNOBODI continues to refine his own take on beat music. The Berlin-based producer has been moving between hip-hop, R&B, soul and electronic music for years, without paying too much attention to the lines separating them. Across ten short tracks, warm samples and fragments of soul meet dry drums, synths and small details that give each beat a character of its own. Sometimes laid-back and dreamy, sometimes more direct and full of bounce, “Duality & Devotion” carries its contrasts right in the title. IAMNOBODI rarely needs more than two minutes to get an idea across. No unnecessary polishing, no holding onto a loop just because it happens to work. A compact album by a producer who found his sound a long time ago and still keeps finding new ways to tweak it.

The colored vinyl edition of the "Monastic HHV Exclusive White w/ Black Splatter Vinyl Edition" LP by Krewcial has been released on Hip Hop Enterprise and reissues one of the earliest underground works in Belgian hip-hop history. Originally released on cassette in 1995, the record gathers 27 tracks that capture Krewcial in a raw, experimental phase and present the material in a sound that’s been reworked for the vinyl format.

Krewcial, a producer, rapper, DJ, filmmaker, and radio pioneer from Belgium, drew his inspiration from early New York rap culture and was among the first Belgian artists to consistently rap in English. Musically, "Monastic" combines dusty, sample-based beats with introspective lyrics, instrumental interludes, and a clear boom-bap aesthetic strongly influenced by the independent West Coast scene of the early ’90s.

The collaborations with Mystik Journeymen and The Grouch on four tracks, along with guest appearances by Sunspot Jonz and Luck the Legend, document early international connections that were unusual at the time. The artwork was reworked by simonoetanglxd, and the mastering was handled by real_keru, giving the release both historical authenticity and a fresh sonic edge.

Reissue, pressed in 2026. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... is the debut solo album by Raekwon, a member of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, released on August 1, 1995, through Loud Records and RCA Records. Widely regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever made, it is considered a landmark of East Coast rap and is often credited with defining the Mafioso rap subgenre. The album was produced entirely by RZA, whose dark, cinematic production style became one of its defining characteristics and played a crucial role in establishing its legendary status.

The album is also famously known as "The Purple Tape" because the original cassette edition was released in a distinctive purple shell. It was originally intended to be titled Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Niggaz, but the record label shortened the name for commercial reasons, leaving the now-iconic ellipsis. The title refers to Cuban link chains, heavy gold necklaces that symbolized wealth, power, and status within 1990s hip-hop and street culture.

Musically, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... represented a major evolution of the Wu-Tang sound. While earlier Wu-Tang releases relied heavily on raw drum loops, dusty soul samples, and kung fu film excerpts, RZA crafted a more cinematic and atmospheric soundscape built around lush soul samples, eerie melodies, and seamless transitions between tracks. The result is an album that unfolds like a crime film, using skits, dialogue, and interconnected songs to tell a cohesive story about ambition, loyalty, betrayal, and survival within the drug trade.

Lyrically, Raekwon paints vivid portraits of life on the streets of Staten Island, exploring themes of drug dealing, wealth, violence, loyalty, betrayal, and the pursuit of power. Alongside Ghostface Killah, he developed a dense lyrical style filled with street slang, coded language, and intricate metaphors that rewards repeated listening. Rather than presenting a collection of unrelated songs, the album functions as a complete narrative, influencing generations of artists who later embraced concept-driven storytelling in hip-hop.

Although officially released as a solo album, Ghostface Killah serves as an almost equal co-star, appearing on many of the album's most important tracks. The chemistry between Raekwon and Ghostface is one of the record's defining strengths, giving it the feel of a collaborative project rather than a traditional solo release. Nearly every member of the Wu-Tang Clan also contributes, including Method Man, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and RZA. One of the album's most celebrated moments is "Verbal Intercourse," which features Nas in his first collaboration with the Wu-Tang family and includes one of the most acclaimed guest verses of the era.

Among the album's standout tracks are "Criminology," "Incarcerated Scarfaces," "Ice Water," "Glaciers of Ice," "Heaven & Hell," "Wu-Gambinos," and "Verbal Intercourse." In particular, "Incarcerated Scarfaces" has become one of the defining songs of East Coast hip-hop, praised for its unforgettable production and Raekwon's vivid lyricism. Together, these tracks showcase the album's unique blend of cinematic storytelling, sophisticated wordplay, and uncompromising street realism.

Upon its release, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and was later certified Platinum. Today, it is consistently ranked among the greatest hip-hop albums of all time and is widely recognized as the blueprint for the Mafioso rap movement. Its cinematic narrative, innovative production, and extraordinary chemistry between Raekwon and Ghostface Killah have influenced countless artists, including Jay-Z, Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., and many others. More than three decades after its release, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... remains one of the most influential and enduring masterpieces in hip-hop history.

The “To The East Blackwards” LP by X‑Clan is released on Music On Vinyl and brings the Brooklyn crew’s 1990 debut back to vinyl as a reissue. The album documents the group’s Afrocentric, politically charged stance and combines distinctive MC passages with sample‑based funk production; it was especially the dense lyrics and Professor X’s striking interjections that made the record one of the most influential statements of the early conscious rap scene. Music On Vinyl presents the album in an editorially revised form that audibly brings the original highlights to the forefront.

The original lineup — Brother J, Professor X, Paradise, and DJ Sugar Shaft — shapes the tone of the album, which found its standout moments in tracks like “Heed The Word Of The Brother,” “Verbal Milk,” and “Grand Verbalizer, What Time Is It?”. This LP edition makes key cuts directly accessible again and draws attention to the lyrical density, the funk‑based instrumentation, and the unmistakable adlibs. As a release on Music On Vinyl, “To The East Blackwards” is once again heard as an important chapter in early‑1990s U.S. hip‑hop.

The “Picture This” LP by Do Or Die is being released on Rap-A-Lot in a newly expanded 2xLP edition for the 30th anniversary of the debut, originally issued in 1996. The arrangements and the distinctive blend of melodic hooks and sharp rap parts remain front and center, while the additional side of vinyl creates room for an expanded presentation of the album.

As part of the Rap-A-Lot 40-year initiative, the “Picture This” LP puts Do Or Die’s role within Midwest hip-hop history in focus and documents a formative chapter in the label’s story. With this edition, Rap-A-Lot not only presents the original material on LP, but also embeds it in a conceptual reappraisal that highlights both the production and the album’s historical position. The “Picture This” LP on Rap-A-Lot is thus a straightforward reissue that preserves the album’s legacy and clearly underscores its significance for the development of a regional sound.

“Chemistry Teraqueous” by Usephasan is a debut EP from 1997 that first showcased the talents of an emcee respected in underground circles and preceded the later album “Scienc.Esquizit.” The release stands as a compact collection of urban soundscapes that fuse classic hip-hop elements with experimental flourishes.

Musically, turntable techniques meet jazzy hip-hop and boom‑bap foundations; the arrangements shift between mid‑tempo rhythms, warm Rhodes textures, and carefully placed synthesizers. Tracks like “Desert Population (intro)” and “Cocoon Room (interlude)” work with exotic guitar and lo‑fi elements, while “Fore the Lov” and “For the Lov (Instrumental)” draw on nostalgic boom‑bap references and reverb‑soaked instrumental colors. The title track “Chemistry Teraqueous” stands out for its prominent turntable work; on “Bad As Brothers (Instrumental),” bass grooves and dreamy, sustained piano tones come to the foreground.

Lyrically, street‑level rap lines are interwoven with reflective imagery, making the EP read like a versatile calling card for the artist. For collectors and listeners, the release offers a clear look at the stylistic foundations of Usephasan’s work and lays the groundwork for his later output within the realm of influential underground compilations.

US Hip Hop

Who would have thought over 40 years ago that US hip hop would have such an immense influence on the language of generations? American hip hop emerged in the early 1970s, with DJ Kool Herc laying the foundation with his block parties. Initially, MCs provided verbal support for the DJs, but they soon took centre stage. By the time the SP1200 replaced the TR-808, hip hop kids could effortlessly quote lines from the most important wordsmiths. In the second half of the 1980s, US hip hop evolved from a subculture into a global hype. First in the USA, then in Europe and Japan… h2. The Golden Era of US Rap Slick Rick took storytelling to the next level, Public Enemy became the political mouthpiece of the black community. The Ultramagnetic MC’s gave a taste of the US hip hop of the future, both lyrically and musically. The Native Tongues collective represented a level-headed alternative to the language of the streets. And soon producers such as DJ Premier, Large Professor, Pete Rock and Q-Tip discovered jazz as a source of samples. While rappers on the East Coast competed with their extensive vocabularies, the West Coast celebrated gangsta rap. With resounding success, as was quickly apparent. With Kool G Rap and Schoolly D, there were already MCs on the East Coast who had previously eloquently addressed the gangster lifestyle, but Eazy-E, Ice Cube, MC Ren, Dr. Dre and DJ Yella were more radical, more offensive, simply louder and more media-savvy.

US hip hop from the 1990s to today

In the 1990s, US hip hop developed into a mass phenomenon. The beats from the MPC and clever wordplay thrilled the masses. Rap tracks not only topped the hip hop charts. With the help of Biggie Smalls, Puff Daddy redefined the mainstream. Today, some of the Golden Era MCs are living proof that you can still deliver captivating rhymes even in your golden years. Names like KRS-One, Kool Keith, Kool G Rap, GZA, Pharoahe Monch, Freddie Foxxx, Sadat X and O.C. immediately come to mind when discussing this topic. And even after more than 25 years in the business, producers like Pete Rock, Large Professor and DJ Premier are still rocking the studio console. New artists from all regions of the USA are creating their own version of US hip hop and even thrilling die-hard old schoolers. But even little-noticed rappers from the nineties sometimes only achieve their breakthrough in later life. Has-Lo, Roc Marciano, KA, Billy Woods, crews like Pro Era, Odd Future and A$AP Mob, and fresh faces like Your Old Droog and RAST RFC are making their mark on American rap music today. Meanwhile, El-P, Apollo Brown, The Alchemist and L’Orange are revitalising the soundscape of US hip hop. And MCs, producers and fans alike benefit from cross-generational collaborative projects.
