After the acclaimed Bar Mediterraneo, Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina return with People Of The Moon, expanding their sound into a space of creative freedom. The “People of the Moon” are not fictional, but a dimension within us all: a deeply personal yet universal force, an alternative mindset that emerges when freed from social constraints.

Under moonlight, the album explores anxieties and aspirations through groove and rhythm, expressed in Neapolitan, Arabic, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. It moves fluidly from Afro-Cuban influences in “Celavì” to Anatolian textures in “Ma Tu Che Bbuò”, blending highlife guitars with Nu Genea’s signature mandolins-new rhythms filtered through an Italian lens.

The first single “Sciallà” (2025) introduced this direction: dance as catharsis, not escape. The title track reflects a quiet resilience-persistent rather than triumphant. “Onenon”, featuring Tom Misch, channels Mediterranean brit-funk, while “Acelera”, with María José Llergo, evokes a flamenco-tinged pursuit of the unattainable.

“Puleza” recalls Nuova Napoli with driving energy and vintage synths, while “Shway Shway”, sung by Celinatique, captures the album’s orbital flow-measured, rich, and rhythmically complex, echoing afrobeat explorations with Tony Allen.

Melody remains central, as in “Carè”. Across ten tracks, falling, flying, and dancing merge in a suspended groove. Gabriel Prado’s “Ondas Do Mar” embodies this pull: a cyclical motion, like the tides—irresistible, transformative, and alive within us.

The "Come Back Home (Again)" 7" by Al Kent With The Disco Love Orchestra is released on Big Love and presents a deliberately focused new recording of one of his best-known tracks. Al Kent, respected on the scene as an influential collector and producer, leads his Disco Love Orchestra into an arranging language that recalls the orchestral, Philadelphia-inflected dancefloor arrangements of the 1970s; driving basslines, shimmering string sections, and punchy horn figures form the musical foundation, while powerful soul vocals carry the central melodic backbone.

The release comprises two parts — "Come Back Home (Again) Pt1" and "Pt2" — and is offered on 7" vinyl; the compact single format stays true to the song material without unnecessary excess. With this edition, Big Love delivers a precise, dancefloor-focused version in which Al Kent reimagined forgotten gems of the disco tradition while at the same time connecting modern strains of boogie with classic arrangements. The release is scheduled for October 16, 2026, and is aimed at listeners who appreciate sophisticated, vocal-driven dance productions.

Between the late 1960s and the mid-1980s, musicians across the Dutch Caribbean islands of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten created music that crossed stylistic boundaries, forming a close-knit network shaped by common histories and identities, while rarely receiving wider recognition. From the psychedelic funk of local stars Sugar Ice Tea and Cryptus Confession to the Latin influences of visiting musicians like Puerto Rican star Mon Rivera via Surinamese-influenced soul and the garage rock of Los Honda, the islands nourished a huge array of styles and talent. Antiyano Progresivo unfolds against the backdrop of a rapidly transforming Caribbean. During the twentieth century, oil industries, migration and tourism reshaped the islands, creating unparalleled cultural exchange while deepening social divisions. African, Latin American, North American and European musical traditions intertwined with local forms, producing a rich and distinctive musical landscape. Tambú, tumba, calypso and Caribbean dance music coexisted alongside soul, funk, psychedelic rock, reggae, Latin music and American and British pop. Musicians moved fluidly between these styles, developing sounds that were unmistakably local while remaining connected to wider currents across the Caribbean and beyond. The period also coincided with growing movements for cultural and political self determination. Events such as Curaçao's Trinta di Mei uprising in 1969, the emergence of Black Power movements and increasing calls for greater autonomy fostered renewed pride in African heritage, local languages and cultural expression. These ideas resonated through music, inspiring artists to challenge conventions and create work that reflected changing identities.

The 12" “Super Disco Edits Brazil Jazz Funk” (2026 repress), released on Legofunk, is a compilation that brings together four carefully crafted edits and puts a tangible tropical flavor front and center. With this release, Legofunk relies on stripped-back arrangements and punchy groove reworks that transform the original motifs into bolder shapes suited for clubs and DJ sets. The edition underscores the character of edits without resorting to the usual embellishments and keeps the listening dynamics tight.

The tracklist explicitly showcases the mix of artists: Alexny opens with “Harina De Maiz,” Alkalino contributes “Bate Tambor,” Lego Edit delivers “D.D.B,” and Scruscru closes with “Gold Velvet.” Each rework focuses on rhythmic clarity and danceable structures, while Legofunk curates the selection so that the EP functions as four gems that slot easily into different sets. “Super Disco Edits Brazil Jazz Funk” remains straightforward in its construction, yet offers enough melodic and percussive nuances to reveal new details on repeat plays. For collectors and DJs looking for compact, edit-driven releases, Legofunk has delivered a distinctive statement with this 12".

Susana Estrada was one of the muses and main figures from the period known as ‘Transition’ in Spain. No other woman represented better than her the freedom and sexual revolution which the country experienced in the 70s after the end of the dictatorship.

A truly erotic Goddess, Susana was a model, singer and actress and one of the first women to perform fully-naked plays in Spain. She appeared in numerous erotic magazines and movies and her famous sexual counselling column for Play-Lady magazine caused a big commotion at the time. She reached fame with her erotic musical plays like “Historias Del Strip-Tease”, “Muñecas” (where she simulated to have sex with a robot!) or “Machos”.

As a singer, in 1980 Susana released her first 45 for the Belter label from Barcelona: “Machos” / “Acaríciame”. Produced by Josep Lobell and Manuel Gas, it contained two sexy disco tracks which paved the way for her first LP, “Amor y Libertad” (Love and Freedom), released on the Belter sub-label Sauce in 1981. Produced by Cosmic Disco pioneer Josep Llobell (Oliver’s Planet), this is a real fest of 80s Italo Disco, Munich Sound, Boogie, Funk and Modern Soul. The fabulous, minimal production of Llobell collides with the sensual vocals and moanings of Susana, singing about sexual liberation and freedom. Of course, when the album was originally released, nobody understood it. Criminally underrated for many years, “Amor y Libertad” has now become a cult item in the international Cosmic Disco scene.

But in 1980, a strange cassette by Susana called “Machos” was also released on the Belter label. It featured music and songs from the play of the same name. There, we can find “Espacial” (seven minutes of robotic funk and Space Cosmic Disco) and “Hagamos el amor” (“Let’s make love”), another sexadelic funk track much in the vein of the ones included on “Amor y Libertad”.

On this comp, you’ll find the entire “Amor y Libertad” album except the two tracks which were not in a disco / funk vein (“Ven” and “Arena y mar”), plus “Machos” ( a Celi Bee & the Buzzy Bunch cover), “Acaríciame” from the first Belter 45 and two tracks from the “Machos” cassette: “Espacial” and “Hagamos el amor”. We’ve also included a previously unreleased track courtesy of Susana: “Tócame”, recorded in 2007, in a High Energy Euro Disco vein.

The “Don’t You Want Me” 12-inch by Savage, released on Dance On The Beat, presents an official reissue of the 1994 Italo-dance track and brings together the key versions on a single record, including the well-known Ice Original Mix as well as a compact radio version. Savage’s 1994 single ranks among the era’s distinctive Euro/Italo-dance productions; melodic synth hooks and programmed drum patterns shape the arrangements and remain intact in the mixes made available again here.

The Dance On The Beat reissue joins the label’s series of official 12-inch reissues, which has brought back several iconic dance single releases from the 1990s in recent years. Savage’s “Don’t You Want Me” 12-inch brings the track back to DJ sets and collections, foregrounding the original remix variants so that the 1994 production can be heard again in authentic form. With this release, Dance On The Beat focuses on historic club tracks and emphasizes the significance of Savage’s classic to the Italo-dance scene.

New and stunning release on Smiling C limited to 500 copies worldwide. Exclusively available through HHV in Europe.

More than four years in the making, Tiki Shack Recording Studios AKA Smiling C Records & Mike Patricola present Pipe Dreams — a compilation of sidewalk surf bands, tropical troubadours, and soothing sounds from just beyond the reef.

Compiled by Mike Patricola, Pipe Dreams is the culmination of years spent exchanging obscure recordings, pursuing a shared feeling, and uncovering a sub-genre of overlooked songs that could be woven into a story of surf, snorkel, and sun. Drawn from Patricola's collection, the compilation aims to capture the feeling of endless summer, and serves as an ode to the freedom of island living: Bikini-shaped sunburns, coconut stands closed due to perfect swells, slack guitars, perpetual sunsets, guppies darting through shallow water, and afternoons spent face-down in the sand.

Spanning the late 1970s through the mid 1980s, Pipe Dreams gathers forgotten pop, lounge, soft rock, AOR, disco, and private-press oddities into a time capsule that seeks to epitomize an era that existed before life became mediated by screens. One in which technology was more naive and society was less reliant upon it. Time moved slower, people were better able to connect with their surroundings, and the dream of moving to a coastal utopia felt more attainable.

Each side unfolds as its own chapter.

Side A begins with Midwestern lettermen The Sunset Kidds, whose hypnagogic harmonies on “Darlin’” evoke the Beach Boys mired in the post-summer doldrums. Australia's Simplex 2 follow with the previously unreleased “Tiger Bay”, capturing the slow pulse of a perfect beach day through low end groove. Don Moore's infectious “Water Lily” arrives via a romantic Fire Island love affair, while Cay Gottlieb contributes a dose of Bahamian Balearica. To close the side out, Tennessee crooner Ron Holmes delivers an extra dose of salt on the margarita rim for good measure.

Side B shifts into a more upbeat surf-disco and pub-rock mode. Montreal’s Dino Pacifici’s nostalgic ode to carefree summers long passed, followed by Marseille's own The Students "Ocean Lifestyle" — which sits somewhere between Shuggie Otis and The Stranglers. Another Montréalais artist Pierre Rochette delivers a chuggy surf-disco belter, while Special Edition Band ventures from boozy rock into a washed-out paradise with glistening guitars.

Side C serves as an ode to tropical troubadours — intimate songs that range from drum machine lounge to private island bedroom recordings. Japan's Twin Cosmos, actual identical twins, dream up beachfront breezes on "Coconuts Wind." Hawaiian songwriter Dennis Soares offers the delicate and deeply personal "One World," while Ossie Parker Jr. supplies some Bahamian barroom sophistication. Miles Corbin brings sounds straight from the tiki hut, and lounge lizard Glen Banks takes us into the final intermission with a lullaby live from the Coconut Grove.

Side D catches a wave back in. Meri-Lynn & The Key Lime Pie Band celebrate the Florida Key life, Dennis Soares returns for one final Hawaiian postcard, and the Latin band Acapulco contribute a hefty dose of sunny positivity akin to one of Brian Wilson’s cheerier tunes. To round it out, Rick Sharp injects a touch of Bossa cheek and fantasy, and British pub blokes Contrast steer the compilation back toward where it all began — a destination somewhere between a Beach Boy California paradise, a remote oceanside lounge for loners, and a sleazy coastal timeshare.

Pressed on vinyl in a deluxe die-cut, spot-glossed gatefold jacket featuring artwork by our man Charles Bals and cover “Breaking Wave” photo by Lex Thompson. Pipe Dreams is designed as both a listening experience and an object of escape. Drop the needle, lean back, and let the tide carry you away.

Released on Perro Bueno Edits, the 7" “Perro Bueno Edits Volume 8” showcases the next level of Perro Bueno Edits’ creativity while, for the most part, staying true to its established style. The series stands for tight, DJ‑friendly edits that carefully trim and reaccentuate original funk, disco, and Afro grooves without losing the soul of the source recordings. Within a short run time, concise versions emerge that emphasize rhythmic work, a warm bass foundation, and pinpoint brass or percussion details, making them work both in the club and in finely curated sets. Perro Bueno places value on a crate‑digging aesthetic and meticulous edit craftsmanship: melodic fragments are brought to the fore, transitions are optimized for DJ use, and the groove essence is distilled. The release trajectory of the series also shows a preference for limited, colored 7" pressings, giving each installment its own distinct presence in the label’s catalog. Overall, “Perro Bueno Edits Volume 8” remains faithful to the underlying concept and offers a compact, stylistically clear addition to the Perro Bueno Edits series.

The From The Vaults Volume 6 12" by Nick Curly, released on 8bit, presents four carefully arranged tracks that encapsulate the artist’s signature approach. Nick Curly, one of the label’s defining figures alongside Gorge, uses the 12" as a platform for dancefloor-ready compositions that fuse precise groove architecture with clear club dynamics.

The four cuts on the record combine propulsive house grooves with refined club drive, maintaining a strong connection to disco/boogie elements, accentuated by syncopated basslines and rhythmic percussion. Sonically, the production focuses on stripped-back, functional arrangements: polished drums, warm low-end frequencies, and selective use of melodic motifs build tension without overcrowding the mix.

From The Vaults Volume 6 documents Nick Curly’s ability to deliver concise dance tracks on 8bit that serve both DJs and club crowds. The 12" prioritizes immediate playability and stands out with clean mixes that make transitions within a set easier. For collectors and users of the format, this release offers a compact, focused selection of current Nick Curly productions on the 8bit label.

The “Eleven” LP by Sandra St. Victor is released on Mother Tongue as a 2x12" gatefold vinyl set with a companion digital edition. The release brings together new material and renditions, with a clear grounding in funk and soul providing the common thread. Sandra St. Victor’s voice and songwriting take center stage, supported by arrangements that fuse classic soul aesthetics with a contemporary groove.

Musically, “Eleven” ranges from elegant, jazzy passages to straight-up funk cuts; exemplary here are the new version of “Moonchild” in collaboration with Kaidi Tatham, as well as the duet “No More” with Lalah Hathaway. Mark de Clive-Lowe contributes a stripped-down, nuanced version of “Dizzy” that explores lo-fi soul and electronic refinement. The selection of guest appearances and producers adds variety without diluting Sandra St. Victor’s coherent signature style.

The album was executive produced by Sandra St. Victor together with Patrick Gibin for Mother Tongue; the collaboration with the label ties the artist’s long-standing partnerships to Mother Tongue’s production network and emphasizes both her artistic continuity and the current stylistic openness of “Eleven.”

The "Convention" 12" by Gingerblack, released on Anxiety Therapy, marks an important step for the Berlin label on the occasion of its fifth anniversary: the imprint’s first-ever vinyl release appears as a special EP and brings Gingerblack’s signature sound to vinyl for the first time. The "Convention" EP puts Gingerblack’s deep, soul-infused approach front and center and complements it with two remixes by longtime companions from the Berlin scene.

Musically, "Convention" documents a subtle interplay between disco and boogie elements, with Gingerblack spotlighting melodic work and warm grooves. The versions contributed by Shahrokh Dini and Luna City Express each put their own spin on the material: both remixes open up new perspectives on the originals and function as complementary counterparts that unfold their strengths both on the dance floor and during focused listening. Anxiety Therapy uses this release as an opportunity to sharpen its label identity and to position Gingerblack as a permanent fixture in its program.

The "Convention" 12" thus delivers not only a tangible physical edition, but also a focused presentation of sound aesthetics and collaboration within the Berlin house and disco scene.

Curió Curió came to flight by chance. Two artists, Rio-born, Austria-based singer and actress Luiza Monteiro and German producer Dustin Braun, had separately reached a fork in their journeys. An opportune encounter soon blossomed into an uplifting, heartfelt Brazilian MPB-groove project shaped by psychedelic disco and studio experimentation. In their own words Curió Curió’s sonic vision “is not straight disco, not straight samba, not strictly old-school but inspired by all of them, creating something contemporary but still nostalgic”. A modern fusion influenced as much by Gal Costa and Jorge Ben Jor as Say She She and Bala Desejo, their sound deftly plots a course all of its own. A celebration of freedom, movement, love and life, intertwined with introspective moments of reflection. Treating tradition as something alive, migratory and unresolved, the album is not simply bound by a shared love of Brazilian music, but by a deeper question that runs through every track; where does one belong when home becomes plural? As a Brazilian living in Europe, Luiza's lyrics explore themes of identity, culture, and existence. The tracks move between cities and emotional registers without settling, tracing a sense of identity that shifts rather than resolves. Songs like ‘Amor Doente’ and ‘Mar sem Dar Pé’ circle around relationships that resist clarity, while ‘Menina Passarinho’ captures the fear and necessity of committing to music as a path. For Luiza, deepening her commitment to music alongside years in theatre was both inevitable and difficult. Braun’s production follows a similar logic. Initial ideas were often built without obvious reference points, only later incorporating rhythmic and vocal elements that hint at Brazil without reproducing it. Analogue techniques, tape, ribbon microphones and live ensemble recording bring a tactile quality that reflects the duo’s interest in process as much as outcome. Highlights include ‘Bem Querer’, built on an authentic samba street vibe with a super-catchy sing-along chorus, and ‘Vem pra Casa’ with its cosmic-tinged Brazilian boogie flavour. The album closes with ‘A Cor do Meu Sonho’, a quiet act of insistence. A refusal to shrink in unfamiliar environments, and a belief in the strength of difference. It is less a conclusion than a continuation, leaving the central question open. “I started to understand that I can belong to many places at once”, Luiza reflects. “And that can be something to embrace”. Lyrics from the song ‘Raiz’ translate in English to “I value a burning sun and the cold in the air. Constant change is my companion”. With Curió Curió, that idea is lived through sound, story and collaboration. A debut that feels both searching and assured, grounded in heritage yet shaped by distance.

As the saying goes, ‘There's nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come’. 50 years since Michael Orr and Carey Harris self-released Spread Love, this iconic underground cult masterpiece is finally getting the attention it deserved all along. A timeless release, with a sound, production and level of songwriting that could go toe-to-toe with the best, it was passed over by a number of labels back in ’75, leading to Michael and Carey putting it out themselves. Spread Love radiates with a message that is as pertinent as ever - heartfelt lyrics and soaring melodies covering a spectrum of genres including modern and classic soul, gospel, early disco, and jazz-funk.

Raised in Detroit before moving to rural West Virginia, Michael learned to play piano at a young age. Those early influences of Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick and many more, led him to form a band who played local ‘sock hops’ as well as getting paid $5 a week at aged 14 to play piano for the church choir.

Fast forward 10 years, and whilst working for the local county, Michael would travel back home every lunch to write songs on his baby grand in his basement. His dream was to be a songwriter, and his intention was never the limelight. He penned ‘Feelings’ with Gladys Knight in mind and sent it to his childhood friend Carey Harris, who was the bassist in her band. Gladys liked it but didn’t think it fit with where she was going at the time. That initial rejection sparked the idea of Carey and Michael recording it themselves. With the help of Michael’s wife who sold some of her possessions to fund the studio time, they recorded the album at Agency Recording Studio in Cleveland alongside one of the O'Jays drummers Ricardo “Ricky Speed” Nixon, Adolph Burton and Bernardine Mitchell.

That DIY drive paved the way for the now-iconic cover, with Michael’s sister-in-law painting the genie and rainbow and his brother drawing the sun / star logo for what became their record label. Spread Love’s time though hadn’t come. No matter how many Michael could sell to shops out of the boot of his car, the message couldn’t reach far enough to break it out to the wider world – ultimately putting him in a 50-year hiatus.

Spread Love is most known for its sublime anthemic title track. A celestial, soul-rousing cut with a message which feels more apt than ever. The album though is stacked start to finish with gems. There’s a balance between beauty and sadness in the modern-soul dancer ‘Here I Go (Through These Changes Again)’, a song that Johnnie Taylor would later cover. It features a superb vocal performance by Michael reminiscent of Gil Scott-Heron. Elsewhere, Bernardine Mitchell takes the place of Gladys Knight for ‘Feelings’ with her vocals resonating deep down inside.

Other highlights include the opening song, ‘Ecstasy, Fantasy & Dreamland’ - it is sheer brilliance with an awesome flute solo by Michael Neal. Then there’s ‘A Piece Of Mine’ an early disco/jazz-funk instrumental with vibraphone by Bernard James, whilst ‘You Opened My Eyes To The World’ has a Strata East jazz meets soul quality that is spacey, uplifting, and spiritual.

It’s been a joy working with Michael and his son Jamal, who restored and remastered the original tapes, to reissue this forgotten gem and spread that love all over the world.

The A-side leads with “Feel It ’26 (The Reflex Revision),” driven by a propulsive groove, while the B-side rounds out the release with the complementary cut “Splicey,” making the single feel conceived as a compact club tool.

The Reflex has built a reputation with reworked versions and revisions of older disco and soul tracks; his releases are often tailored for direct use behind the decks, with a clear focus on groove-oriented arrangements and dance-floor-friendly structures. Flex7 has a clear 7-inch focus and relies on concise, single-format releases that appeal equally to DJs and collectors.

On the center label of this pressing, “Feel It ’26 (The Reflex Revision)” is listed at 125 BPM with a running time of 5:30—figures that underline its focus on danceable tempos and extended edit passages. The crystal clear vinyl edition of the “The Art Of Space Disco (1977-1978) - Best Of” LP by Space has been released by Because Music and brings together the most distinctive tracks from the band’s early period. Space was founded in 1977 by Didier Marouani; their debut single “Magic Fly” embodies the band’s futuristic DNA and made the group famous worldwide. In 1977 and 1978 they released three albums — “Magic Fly,” “Deliverance,” and “Just Blue” — characterized by melodic density, synth-driven innovation, and at times large-scale orchestral arrangements, which together sold more than ten million copies.

This release comes as a 1LP on crystal clear vinyl and, in addition to “Magic Fly,” offers four exclusive edits: “Carry On, Turn Me On” (edit), “My Love Is Music” (edit), “Deliverance” (edit), and “Running In The City” (edit). All tracks have been newly remastered by Alex Gopher; the vinyl comes in a 3 mm-spine sleeve (CMYK + Pantone 877 C) with printed inner sleeve and marketing sticker, plus exclusive liner notes by Jean-Yves Leloup. The accompanying double CD contains the original versions, two additional tracks (“Symphony,” “Velvet Rape”), as well as eight remixes previously unreleased on physical formats, produced in 2026 by artists whose careers were influenced by Space.

On edit imprint Disco Mind's tenth release, they hand over the reins to iconic Italian DJ, producer and remixer Beppe Loda, once resident DJ at influential rural club Typhoon during the 1980s - and it's that period that inspired the four scalpel jobs on show. 'Mr Rocket' is a chugging chunk of oddball early 80s headiness, while 'Tu Sei' sees Loda rework what sounds like a synth-laden fusion of space rock and intergalactic jazz-funk. On side B, he does a great job on spiralling, big hair-sporting disco-rock number 'Falling', before showcasing more spacey synths and chugging rock riffs on 'Marzio'.

The 12" “La Truffe Galactique” by Black Truffle on G.A.M.M. explores the spectrum between spaced-out European disco, proto-disco, and jazz disco. The release brings together four tracks that vary in tempo and mood: from floating, cosmic passages to mid-tempo groove formats that leave room for subtle melodic twists. The focus is on elegant arrangements that connect disco traditions with slightly offset, jazzy harmonies.

Black Truffle is known for offering new takes on established dance music traditions and for combining edit techniques with a fine sense of balance between nostalgia and contemporary treatment. On “La Truffe Galactique,” these qualities come to the fore: rhythmic precision meets restrained yet impactful sonic details, making the tracks suitable both for club use and for listening at home. The pieces rely on open spaces and carefully shaped dynamic arcs rather than sheer loudness.

A defining feature of this release is the mastering: Lay-Far transferred the recordings to reel-to-reel tape to achieve a warm, analog sonic character. This gives the music more organic depth and tonal refinement, effectively showcasing the stylistic range of Black Truffle on G.A.M.M.

The 12" “This Ain't No Disco / Tarot” by Loveface / Misiu is presented as a split release on A & R Edits and brings together two purpose-built renditions: Loveface turns Talking Heads’ “Life During Wartime” into a dancefloor-ready version, while Misiu brings an early Italo track back into focus with a flowing, rework-focused approach. Early support from Greg Wilson and Ian Ossia confirmed the energetic response to the advance plays.

For his new take, Loveface leans on a striking, groove-driven structure that preserves the original’s distinctive stance while tightening up the bass and percussion so it really works on the floor; this treatment turns the song into a truly reliable club cut for the first time. In doing so, Loveface underlines his penchant for detail-oriented edit work that recontextualizes the familiar.

Misiu’s version of “Tarot” follows in the tradition of edit projects that made early Italo material accessible to DJs again — a history also illustrated by the early Idjut Boys re-edit revival of the track. Misiu relies on smooth transitions and distinctly trance-like melodicism, allowing the piece to regain its hypnotic quality while opening up more active room for DJs to play with it in their sets.

As a release on a vinyl-focused edits imprint, the record slots neatly into the label’s curated series and appeals to listeners interested in carefully crafted renditions drawing on disco, Italo and post-punk sources. The combination of a newly reignited classic and a gently modernized Italo deep cut makes this 12" a concise statement in the rework cosmos.

The “Starflight Disco #1” 7" by The Shake And Bake Band is being released on Tramp and presents the second single from the outfit founded by Glenn “Shake & Bake” Doughty in a new edition. The 7" features the two parts “Starflight Disco #1 Pt.1” and “Starflight Disco #1 Pt.2” and captures just over eight minutes of disco/boogie energy; Part 1 clocks in at about 4:41, Part 2 at about 3:26. On this release, the band appears in its classic lineup, with Glenn Doughty serving as producer, lead vocalist, and on congas, and the track is also associated with contributions from S‑Sence.

Tramp emphasizes that this official reissue is a collaboration with Glenn Doughty and issues it in a deluxe picture sleeve, limited to 300 copies. The release underscores the group’s history: founded in 1975 by Colts wide receiver Glenn Doughty, The Shake And Bake Band brought together several former pro players and drew attention in the mid‑70s with live shows in Baltimore; their sonic aesthetic was at times compared to that of funk band WAR. The “Starflight Disco #1” 7" also appears on the compilation “Can You Feel It Vol.5,” further expanding Tramp’s exploration of disco, boogie, and rare funk gems, with Tramp making the original recordings available again for this official reissue.

At its center is the just-over-16-minute title track “Love In C Minor,” whose driving kick-drum pulse, extended instrumental passages, and sensual vocals evoke the idea of a musical and physical climax. Cerrone developed the recording at a time when New York’s disco scene was creating new forms for the dance floor. The track was recorded at London’s Trident Studios, with Don Ray working alongside Cerrone as arranger.

The album’s creation is closely linked to Cerrone’s former band Kongas and his work as a record dealer. Through imported U.S. records, he discovered the energy of New York disco and translated it into his own, considerably longer format. After French record companies initially rejected the unusual track, it reached New York by chance, where DJs and radio stations took notice.

In addition to the title track, *Love In C Minor* includes the Los Bravos rendition “Black Is Black” and the instrumental “Midnite Lady.” With Because Music, Cerrone’s debut album receives a contemporary vinyl edition that preserves its original artistic character.

The “Kasso” 12-inch by Kasso, released on High Fashion Music, brings an influential track from the early history of Italian disco into two new reworkings by Ben Liebrand. “Kasso (Ben Liebrand Remixes)” builds on a project developed in 1981 by composer and keyboardist Claudio Simonetti together with producer Giancarlo Meo.

Kasso emerged at a time when disco, jazz-funk and electronic music were increasingly overlapping, giving rise to a distinctive Italian dance sound. At its center were Simonetti’s striking piano and keyboard parts, which gave the project a distinctive melodic signature. With tracks such as “Kasso,” “Key West,” “One More Round” and “Walkman,” Kasso attracted particular attention in France and Italy. “Walkman” became a major success there, while the music was later also embraced by clubs in New York and Chicago.

For High Fashion Music, Ben Liebrand takes on this characteristic material. The Dutch DJ, producer and remixer, known for his “In the Mix” broadcasts and the “Grandmix” series, preserves the melodic core of the original while reworking it for the dancefloor. The A-side features the “Ben Liebrand ‘Stop & Go’ Remix,” while the “Ben Liebrand Club Mix” occupies the B-side. In this way, “Kasso (Ben Liebrand Remixes)” combines Simonetti’s Italian disco aesthetic with Liebrand’s distinct feel for expansive club arrangements.

The 12" “I Find The Way / Do You Really Go” by Roger Meno, released on Discotime, reintroduces two long dance versions of a sought-after Euro-disco track in Europe and is offered as an import edition. The A-side features “I Find The Way” in an extended version (approx. 6:45), while the B-side contains “Do You Really Go” (approx. 6:10); both tracks follow the format of classic 12" maxi-singles from the 1980s. This release deliberately presents itself as a reissue of a rare single and makes the two long versions available once again to club and vinyl audiences.

Musically, the material is based on Roger Meno’s own production and composition; in the credits of the original recordings, Roger Meno is listed as writer and producer, complemented by a saxophone contribution from Gerd Röding, who adds distinctive accents to the arrangements. The length of the tracks allows for extended instrumental passages and places the melodic parts of the original at the center. As a reissue on Discotime, this 12" brings a specific historical title from the Euro-disco and boogie context back onto the turntable and documents a distinctive single from the mid-1980s.

The “Family Tree” 12-inch by Family Tree, released on Acid Jazz / OST, brings back the well-known club classic and names Sharon Brown as the recording’s vocal presence. Acid Jazz is working with sister label OST Recordings and is reintroducing the single in 12-inch format after two quickly sold-out reissues; the A-side features the original 12-inch disco mix, while the B-side adds the shorter 7-inch edit as well as the OST Bonus Beats version, making its 12-inch debut here.

The release documents the track’s funky, soulful origins: Sharon Brown, known for “I Specialize in Love,” is at the center of the arrangements, while the Kevin Beamish disco version is presented alongside the shorter original version for the first time. Acid Jazz emphasizes the visual connection to the original Ananda label and sleeve design, while also pointing to the high collector value of older original pressings, which regularly command steep prices on the secondary market. The announcement also names “Family Tree” as one of Norman Cook’s favorite disco tracks. With three versions included on a single 12-inch release, Acid Jazz / OST offers a well-considered reissue of this funk/soul track.

Yuka Mizuhara’s “Moon Dust” 12-inch is released on Rush Hour and marks the debut of the Japanese DJ, model, artist, and selector. For the release, she collaborates with producer Benedek as well as Mickey de Grand IV of Psychic Mirrors. Together, they combine boogie and city pop with a contemporary, sun-warmed sonic aesthetic.

Yuka Mizuhara is known for her all-vinyl DJ sets, her NTS Radio residency “Wave Flower,” and collaborations with Haruomi Hosono, Yukihiro Takahashi, and Towa Tei. Her musical work draws on Japanese techno-pop, experimental electronics, and dance music without merely repeating their historical influences.

At the heart of “Moon Dust” are Benedek’s rolling synthesizer bass lines and softly flowing chord progressions. Mickey de Grand IV and Yuka Mizuhara complement this foundation with catchy vocal melodies and distinctive hooks. The track appears in several different mixes, including the “Seashell Mix,” the “Garage Vocal” version, and an instrumental “Moon Garage” mix.

The production’s buoyant lightness recalls the colorful RAH Band productions of the 1980s, while combining this approach with sophisticated electronic arrangement work and organic dance-floor energy. With “Moon Dust,” Yuka Mizuhara consistently continues her work as a musician and, together with Rush Hour, creates a romantic, synth-driven world.

Musically, the “Light Touches 12” remains committed to the idea of shining a light on forgotten or overlooked sources and making them accessible in a condensed form. Andrea Passenger’s edits bring rhythm and melodic fragments to the forefront, allowing the tracks to fully unfold their impact in DJ sets and extended plays. The A-side is titled “D‑Y‑D (The Reflex Revision)” and is marked as a Revision on the label; the label ring also lists 114 BPM and a running time of 5:26, which underscores its orientation toward DJ sets. Musically, the production is characterized by tight grooves, carefully placed breaks, and an edit tailored to the dancefloor, without denying the melodic substance of the original source.

The “Love Come Down (Dub Mix)” 7" by Social Lovers is released on Tugboat Edits and presents a stripped-down, dubby take on Evelyn “Champagne” King’s classic “Love Come Down.” On the A-side, Social Lovers deliver a concise, boogie-oriented cover version that translates the original’s melodic motif into a lean groove. The clear labeling of song title and version turns the single into a concise statement within the band’s catalog.

The B-side features an instrumental dub version, deliberately designed as a remix tool and offering DJs a loopable, rhythm-focused alternative to the vocal track. Its sound design and arrangement are built on reduction and space, letting bass and percussion move to the forefront and blend seamlessly into disco and boogie settings. This approach makes the “Love Come Down (Dub Mix)” 7" both a collectors’ piece for fans of modern boogie and a functional backup for club and radio play.

With this single, Tugboat Edits releases a compact, stylistically precise treatment of the song that underscores Social Lovers’ affinity for warm grooves and edit-oriented productions. The combination of a tightened A-side and a fully usable dub B-side positions “Love Come Down (Dub Mix)” squarely at the intersection of disco, boogie, and DJ-ready dub variations.

The “My Baby's Gone” LP by High Rise is released on Athens Of The North and brings a previously overlooked crate of boogie, disco, and soul back into focus. On this release, Athens Of The North compiles original recordings that the duo High Rise laid down in the 1980s, deliberately spotlighting unplayed club and dance cuts from a time when Chicago scenes were experimenting between funk and pop. The edition places a premium on authenticity, presenting the songs as a cohesive album aimed at both dedicated collectors and new listeners alike.

Musically, “My Baby's Gone” gathers not only gritty disco and boogie tracks, but also soulful passages. The release credits Harry Malone and Tony Poe as the key players and expands the material with two contributions from Malone’s earlier group, The Elusions. The result is a concise overview of a small yet distinctive creative period that Athens Of The North is now making available again. The “My Baby's Gone” LP by High Rise thus reinforces the label’s mission to reintroduce rare gems of dance music.

The reissue of "Trip To Your Mind (Original Mixes)" brings together the long-sought original versions of the disco-funk classic on a 12-inch release on The Outer Edge label. In addition to the complete Hithouse version, the record includes the 1979 remix by Chris Hill & Robbie Vincent; since the original tapes were lost, the audio was transferred from the best available sources and meticulously restored, with the lacquer cut handled by SST. This edition comes in a faithful reproduction of the rare "Disco 45" sleeve and has been officially licensed by composer Reginald Hudson.

Musically, "Trip To Your Mind" occupies a crossroads between disco and jazz-funk: driving horn arrangements, a warm electric bass foundation, and plenty of space for extended instrumental passages define the track. The recording was made in late 1976 at London’s Advision Studios but remained unreleased until 1979; backing musicians included members of the U.S. Army band Body Heat, among them Tony Palmer (guitar), Herva Middleton (drums, vocals), Charles Walker (saxophone), Harvey Perry (trumpet, trombone), and Rickey (bass).

The track’s historical significance is reflected in its long-standing popularity among DJ circles and collectors, as well as in the numerous bootlegs and compilations that have appeared since the late 1990s. More recent reissues and reworks by Delfonic, LTJ Xperience, and others have further fueled interest; this edition now reconstructs the original mixes in the best possible sound quality and honors the status of Hudson People within the disco-funk scene.

The "Discoteca Tropicana" 12" by Discoteca Tropicana is released on Selva Discos and brings together four original compositions that celebrate the rhythms that have shaped Brazilian disco: a mix of swinging arrangements and tropical flair aimed squarely at lighting up the dancefloor.

The project is the result of a collaboration between Kiko Costato, the enfant terrible of the Brazilian scene, and Zé Nigro, a producer and multi-instrumentalist with two Grammy Awards. For the recordings, Costato and Nigro recruited some of Brazil’s most distinguished studio musicians as well as pioneers of the country’s Black music scene, including backing vocalists who regularly work with Gilberto Gil. This mix of personnel contributes to the stylistic diversity of the EP.

Musically, the record moves between classic disco aesthetics and regional Brazilian patterns: “Corpos Celestes” leans on orchestral string arrangements and a big grand piano, like the glamorous opening to a night out; “Corpo Treme” is a sweat‑drenched, carimbó‑driven track with a vuco‑vuco vibe; “Tobina” links Brazilian swing with African vocal forms and distinctive guitar work in an afoxé feel; and finally, “Não Pode Acabar” is the urban dancefloor hit that works equally well as a set opener or as a furious set closer.

The clear production, the selection of seasoned accompanying musicians, and the thematic range make the "Discoteca Tropicana" 12" a compact, well‑balanced homage to the fusion of Brazilian tradition and disco sensibility.

repress on orange marbled colored vinyl

Bologna born Italo Disco legend Celso Valli’s ‘Tantra’ project had one aim; to push the boundaries of disco! Released in 1979 in the vein of Cerrone and Giorgio Moroder, ‘Hills of Katmandu’ is a unique, progressive slice of classic Italo Disco. The pulsating ‘Moroder-on-steroids bassline’, menacing female vocal and warbling synths take you on a trippy disco journey. The track became a huge dancefloor anthem at legendary clubs such as The Loft and The Saint in New York and Baia Degli Angeli in Rimini.

Originally available on vinyl in 1982 on San Francisco’s “Hot Classics” DJ Service”, Patrick Cowley’s “Original Underground Mix” is a work of pure genius that unleashes his skills on the synths and somehow manages to surpass the original.

High Fashion Music have enrolled Ben Liebrand to restore all the original remix-tapes, managing to re-edit and adjust each and every nuance to perfection, preserving originality and taking away any and all flaws which appeared in the original and it’s acetates, so that it is now steady preserving the original Hi NRG sound. Back by public demand, now the re-press will be available in a restored album-sleeve and on orange/red colored vinyl!

On the flip-side, there is the original 16’20 minutes version of the Jurgen Koppers mix, an extended re-edit of the original Celso Valli version, which appeared first on Disconet in 1979, and in the following year on the US (Importe/12”) release of the “Tantra – the Double Album” longplayer.

A must-have for every disco-lover and Italian disco adept!

The compilation "Fool's Paradise Sampler Volume 8" is released on Fool's Paradise as a 12-inch vinyl and brings together four stand-alone releases that fuse contemporary disco and boogie aesthetics with club-ready arrangements. Featured on the sampler are DJ Fudge with "Carry Us Away," Soul Avengerz with "Reachin'," Sparque with "Let's Go Dancing" (Michael Gray & Dr Packer Extended Mix), and Danny Kane feat. Colonel Red with "Don't You Worry." The compilation deliberately favors longer versions and remix variations that give each track room to let its groove and vocal elements fully unfold.

Musically, the program ranges from warm, soulful vocals to funk-driven basslines and organic percussion layers; Michael Gray and Dr Packer, with their extended mixes, make a major contribution to the dynamic expansion of the cuts, while Colonel Red’s voice lends the Danny Kane track a striking, soulful presence. The 12-inch is aimed at DJs and collectors looking for fresh dancefloor-ready cuts in the disco/boogie spectrum, and it documents Fool's Paradise’s approach of connecting classic dance music traditions with modern production methods.

The 12-inch single Breakin' Out / Girl So Fine by Highscore brings together two previously unreleased tracks from the mid-1980s that were rediscovered on cassette decades later and prepared for release on vinyl. Both tracks show a clear focus on electro funk and boogie: driving drum machine grooves, bright synthesizer arpeggios, and distinctive guitar lines meet soulfully sung choruses, giving the songs a sound that is both danceable and densely arranged. The tracks were produced by Highscore; restoration, post-mix, and mastering were handled by Zoey Cairns, and the vinyl was cut by Frederic Stader.

Highscore is made up of musicians from the circle surrounding the Bremerhaven jazz-rock band Nuages: John Dillard (lead vocals, keyboards), Hermann Behrens (guitar, bass), and Mike Bach (keyboards, drums, percussion). The compositions are by Bach, Behrens, and Dillard; on Girl So Fine, guest vocalist Anka Gretner adds her voice to the mix. The story of the discovery—through the label’s research and the unearthing of cassette tapes—is part of the reissue production overseen by DJ Scientist.

This reissue, limited to 400 copies, comes in a newly designed picture sleeve featuring an original photo of the musicians involved, which also alludes to companions who did not perform on these two tracks. The release documents a previously little-known chapter of German funk production from the 1980s and offers both collectors and style-conscious listeners a carefully restored piece of musical history.

“Edits #1” by Manuel Darquart is released on Adventures In Paradise as a 12-inch and openly foregrounds the focus hinted at in its title: the name suggests carefully constructed edit work tailored for use in DJ sets. This assessment is based on the title and the context of the release.

In recent years, Manuel Darquart has built a reputation as a producer and DJ in house and Balearic circles; releases like the Del Sol and Bluesurf89 EPs reveal a fondness for warm synthesizers, lively chord progressions, and a junction where breaks, acid, and deep house elements meet. His handling of nostalgic sounds and dance-oriented arrangements shapes the recording aesthetic.

The 12-inch on Adventures In Paradise thus positions itself between selective club suitability and a loving appetite for reinterpretation: targeted interventions in song structures, extended instrumental passages, and nuanced percussion updates are typical features of the edit approach Darquart pursues in DJ sets and compilations. For listeners who value smooth transitions and melodic nuances, “Edits #1” offers a compact glimpse into his working methods.

Released on Sgt Slick Recuts, the “Slick Cuts Volume 8” 12" by Sgt Slick presents four meticulously crafted reworks that carry forward the core idea of his ReCuts series. Operating in the “Edits” genre, Sgt Slick combines familiar motifs from disco, house, and pop with an arrangement approach clearly geared toward club presence; the record delivers compact, dance floor–oriented edits that are rhythmically sharpened and optimized for DJ use. The production focuses on tight grooves and punchy breaks, transforming the chosen classics into concise, DJ‑friendly formats.

Specific tracks like “Shampagne” and “Wanna B” show the breadth of the selection, ranging from funk‑tinged licks to poppy melodic lines; each of the four cuts offers its own peak‑time moment without breaking the edition’s throughline. Sgt Slick uses familiar melodic fragments as a jumping‑off point for new club versions, while the mastering approach emphasizes impact on sound systems. “Slick Cuts Volume 8” can thus be seen both as a continuation of the ReCuts series and as a focused DJ tool, adding to the ongoing label program of Sgt Slick Recuts.

Nathaniel Best’s “Set Your House In Order” LP, released on Celestial Echo, brings a long-sought piece of gospel soul back into rotation. The recording, dated 1986, is available for sale again for the first time and showcases Best’s warm, soul-inflected voice in arrangements that balance spiritual singing with contemporary soul. Celestial Echo has reissued the release as an LP, bringing a piece from the transitional period between classic gospel and modern soul productions back into the spotlight.

Musically, “Set Your House In Order” encompasses both hymn-like pieces and heartfelt midtempo numbers. The title track, “Set Your House In Order,” and the opening song, “We Need Love,” stand out in particular, placing Best’s vocals at the center. The record combines compelling choral vocals, organic horn textures and a rhythmic foundation that gives the material warmth and drive. Nathaniel Best’s “Set Your House In Order” on Celestial Echo offers a carefully curated selection of songs that consistently pursue its spiritual theme while connecting soulful expression with timeless appeal.

The "Jkriv Edits Volume 2" 12" by JKriv is released on Razor-N-Tape and marks ten years since his first edit release on the label; the label’s co-founder delivers a compact four-tracker EP that reshapes handpicked finds into dancefloor-ready forms. The selection reflects his long-standing engagement with disco, house, and pop gems, without unnecessary ballast.

“I Feel Amor” is a modern rework of a disco classic that proves to be a true peak-time weapon, its tightened grooves and pinpoint breakdowns supplying energy for the high point of a set. “Love Dub” strips the material down to an intimate deep house aesthetic, firmly rooted in the low end yet open to club rotation. “Cuando Bailo” feels like a loving flashback to the golden days of one-hit wonders, adding a dose of danceable nostalgia. “Dance Sexy” transforms an unusual, purple-tinged cover version into a hypnotic, reddish-shimmering groove that remains densely atmospheric.

JKriv’s edit work is characterized by a fine feel for dynamics and DJ practice: stripped-back arrangements, tight transitions, and a clear focus on the dancefloor. For collectors and DJs looking for precise, instantly deployable tools, this Razor-N-Tape 12" sets a compelling accent in the repertoire.

The “Hot Thang” 12" by Cash, released on Peoples Potential Unlimited, puts a clear emphasis on danceable boogie and disco elements and fits right into the ongoing rediscovery of rare US funk gems. The single transfers the warm groove of the early eighties into a punchy club format without getting lost in unnecessary gimmicks.

Musically, the track is characterized by a springy rhythm section and soulful lead vocal parts which, together with a tight arrangement, create the typical electronically driven boogie sound. The production emphasizes groove and vocals while remaining cleanly structured, resulting in a track that slots effortlessly into DJ sets and compilation series. Its classification as funk, boogie, and classic disco is well documented.

There are concrete credits behind the track: Michael Calhoun and Kevin Kendrick are listed as writers, with M. Calhoun credited as producer; recording locations, mastering, and the named contributors appear in the label credits on the record. “Hot Thang” is therefore, both musically and in terms of documentation, a characteristic example of a regional US boogie single that has been picked up again in several collections and reissues.

The “Power” 12" released on 2000black combines disco, boogie, and house across a three-track EP. The title track, “Power,” is at its center, with Shantéh Fuller handling the vocals and giving the track a clear vocal focus. Dego and Mr Mensah are jointly responsible for the composition and production.

With “Seasons In A Day,” Dego adds a midtempo track that brings together house and boogie elements. Its musical approach remains closely connected to 2000black’s characteristic sound without taking away from the individuality of the individual tracks. “Embassy Eve” expands the 12" with another contribution from the same production period.

The EP marks Dego’s return to his own label following the 2022 album “Love Was Never Your Goal.” As with several works associated with 2000black, the collaboration with Mr Mensah is also central here. “Power” consistently continues the preference for groove-oriented club music, soulful vocal passages, and a fusion of boogie with contemporary house. The 12" is released by 2000black under catalog number 2061BLACK.

The "Somebody Else's Guy" 7" by Suckaside and LROY was released on Suckaside and presents a version of the well-known title explicitly labeled as the "Suckaside Remix." As a 7" rooted in the disco/boogie realm, the release leans into dancefloor energy; the 115 BPM listed on the label underline the driving groove of the A-side. Suckaside and LROY join forces here and deliver a focused, DJ-friendly take on the track.

Musically, this remix places the song firmly in a clear disco/boogie context that pushes rhythm and tempo to the forefront without overpowering the melodic core of the original. Suckaside uses remix techniques to reshape the song for club settings, while LROY’s involvement imprints a collaborative signature on the release. The result is a concise 7" that is clearly geared toward dance floors and at the same time carries forward the scene’s tradition of edits and reworks.

For collectors of contemporary disco takes on classic material, the "Somebody Else's Guy" 7" on Suckaside offers a compact, easy-to-handle record that convinces both as a DJ tool and as an engaging contribution to modern boogie practice.

Announced on Wax Digits Music, the 12" EP "Edit This, Damn You!" by Fingerman brings together three DJ-oriented cuts: A1 "Bang!", B1 "Bestest Beat" and B2 "We Love It". The release presents itself as a vinyl-focused edition aimed at users who value extended groove sections and clear, edited structures.

Musically, Fingerman moves between nu-disco and the disco edit tradition; the arrangements rely on looping basslines, effects processing, and a pronounced dub-disco aesthetic. On the 12", the reworks appear as renditions: sometimes stripped back and bass-driven, sometimes string-led and worked out in a disco-funk direction. These characteristics are part of the artist’s characteristic signature sound.

Behind Fingerman is an experienced DJ/producer from the UK, who has attracted attention in the scene with his own edits and several releases, and who runs the label Hot Digits as well as the vinyl-focused sublabel Wax Digits. His work often aims to create dancefloor-ready versions of rare or underrated tracks.

For DJs and collectors, "Edit This, Damn You!" offers three distinctive tools: refined transitions, tightened breaks, and sound treatment that integrates easily into DJ sets without diluting the roots of the original source material.

The “Oh Que Calor” 12" by Primero, released on Vintage Pleasure Boutique, brings together newly remastered original versions and contemporary remixes on vinyl, presenting this 1980s track in a fresh sonic light. Vintage Pleasure Boutique has conceived the release as a reissue, augmenting the three reworked original versions with remixes by A.P. Mono, Spacehawk, and Disco Computer, giving both collectors and DJs a set of practical variants to work with on this 12".

Musically, the release picks up on the characteristic space‑synth / Italo sound of the original production; the rework emphasizes the synthesizer textures and the rhythmic precision of the arrangements without blurring the vocal melodies. Michiel van der Kuy, who was already involved in the creation of “Oh Que Calor,” is credited as the defining producer behind the composition, which makes the kinship with projects like Laserdance clearly audible. The remixes round out the package with modernized beats and edits that preserve the original disco / boogie character while delivering dancefloor‑ready versions. Fans of Laserdance, Koto, Cyber People, Proxyon, and Sisley Ferre will find clear reference points here.

The “Falling Away / Broken Wings” 12-inch by Boy, released on Blanco Y Negro, is a reissue of a late-’80s Italo rarity, bringing both tracks back to the dance floor in newly reissued form. The 12-inch documents the connection between disco and boogie with a clearly recognizable Italo character, making the original production accessible again without anticipating any additional version titles or remixes.

Musically, “Falling Away” and “Broken Wings” combine danceable groove impulses with melodic synthesizer lines, focusing on rhythmic precision and catchy motifs. The Blanco Y Negro release puts a previously rarely available track from the late eighties in the spotlight and allows the song arrangements to be reassessed in the context of disco/boogie and Italo. For DJs, collectors, and listeners interested in the intersections between European electronic melodies and funk-oriented dance rhythms, Boy’s 12-inch offers a compact, stylistically curated selection that makes the characteristic elements of that era audible.

The "Illegal Disco 011" 12" by Monsieur Van Pratt is released on Illegal Disco and continues the series of regularly issued club edits from the Mexican label.

Monsieur Van Pratt has made a name for himself as an edit specialist who fuses influences from ’80s disco with house rhythms and modern synth textures. His productions are characterized by precisely tailored drum patterns, tight bass loops and well-placed string or synth stabs that respect the original melodies while reformatting them for DJ sets. The result is tracks that both ignite the dance floor and serve as surprising turning points in more selective sets.

Monsieur Van Pratt’s releases on Illegal Disco often follow the pattern of carefully reworked source material: vocal motifs are brought into focus, groove elements are tightened up, and a contemporary sense of timing is added. His way of working as a self-taught producer and remixer from Mexico helps explain the recurring blend of Latin American touches and international disco aesthetics that shapes the label’s sound. The "Illegal Disco 011" 12" thus slots into a cohesive body of work that supplies both club DJs and collectors with danceable renditions.

Penny’s “Penny’s Groove” 12-inch, released on Afrosynth, documents a brief but striking studio episode from 1985 and brings the singer Penny Mtya into the RPM Studios orbit alongside producer and keyboardist Muntu Semenya and co-producer Thokoza Memela. The three-track set moves between Afro-funk, disco, and soulful balladry, placing Penny’s charismatic voice front and center.

The A-side opens with “Cassanova (Stop That Game),” a seven-minute Afro-funk arrangement driven by Semenya-esque, staccato synth figures and Penny’s sultry vocal lines. The B-side offers “I Feel It,” a propulsive instrumental capped by a fuzzy solo from session guitarist Jethro Butow, before the EP closes with “Memories,” a slow, Motown-influenced duet between Penny and Yandy Mgolombane, complemented by saxophone from Mike Faure. The release received little promotion at the time and was quickly forgotten, making this 12-inch a small but rediscovered piece of South African disco and boogie history today. With “Penny’s Groove,” Afrosynth presents a carefully curated reminder of a short-lived collaboration that is once again attracting attention thanks to its sonic variety and the musicians involved.

With the 12" “Real / Lady” released on Tmb, The Reflex presents a convincing work that musically offers a cohesive continuation of his previous output. The two tracks show a clear focus on groove-oriented arrangements: “Real” relies on distinctive bass work and precise drum patterns that drive the track forward, while “Lady,” with its warm vocals and restrained harmonic beds, aims more for melodic depth.

Characteristic of The Reflex is the balance between danceable energy and song-oriented structure; short breaks and subtly woven instrumental threads create space for vocal accents and emphasize the form. The production places importance on transparency in the midrange and a well-defined rhythmic image, bringing vocals, bass, and percussive elements clearly together. Arrangement choices such as selective guitar and string entries lend the pieces additional shades of color without overloading the basic dynamics.

Overall, with “Real / Lady” The Reflex positions itself as a project that combines club-ready grooves with carefully crafted songwriting, making it interesting both for DJs and for listeners who value precisely produced, melody-driven dance and house-leaning music.

Shuya Okino, known as one of the driving forces behind Kyoto Jazz Massive, brings together elements of jazz, soul, funk, and disco on this release, combining them with a pronounced feel for danceable arrangements and elegant song structures. The production sets string and keyboard textures deliberately against concise bass and drum grooves, fusing classic jazz elements with modern dance aesthetics.

The record brings together prominent guest vocalists and contributors: N’Dea Davenport and Navasha Daya appear as singers, alongside instrumentalists from the Japanese jazz scene who give the album a warm, organic sound. The selection ranges from soulful ballads to funk‑driven, rhythmically propulsive tracks, showcasing Shuya Okino’s range as a composer and arranger.

Essential to the character of the production are the meticulous arrangements and the blend of studio craft with a vivid, live musicianship. Individual tracks were created in collaboration with producers such as Kenichi Ikeda, while Okino himself serves as the central driving producer; this combination plays a key role in the LP’s warm yet clearly defined sonic aesthetic.

Layne & Chang are long-established fixtures in the underground. Chang was tipped by Urb magazine as one to watch in the mid-'90s. Dan Tyler, as one half of the Idjut Boys and co-founder of Noid Recordings, contributes two cosmic reworks on the B-side. "Shake Your Body" opens with a locked-in, funk-driven groove — swirling melodic lines, subtly acidic textures, warm vocoder touches, and tight, punchy drums.

The "Secret Mixes Fixes Vol 19: The Fantasy Volume 5" 12" by The Fantasy is released on Secret Mixes Fixes. The release continues the label’s ongoing series, which has been putting out edits and renditions of rare disco, funk, and boogie recordings as DJ tools for years. The record thus situates itself in a curated environment that reassembles historical sources for the club context.

The Fantasy stands for dense, dance-oriented edits that carefully enhance the original material while enabling direct use behind the decks. Characteristic are extended intro and outro sections, lean drum grooves, and emphasized basslines that place the groove at the center; melodic fragments are condensed into new, flowing arrangements. The previous volumes in the series reveal a strong grounding in the disco/boogie/funk cosmos and a preference for clear, DJ-friendly cut structures.

As a 12" designed for club use, this installment focuses on utility and mood: short, effective variations and loopable sections make mixing easier, while the edits preserve the character of the originals. For DJs and collectors looking for hand-signed reworks within the discourse of disco and funk, The Fantasy offers with this release a functional and style-conscious addition to the Secret Mixes Fixes catalog.

Released on Rocksteady Disco, the 12" *Edits From Detroit Volume 4* by Gino and DJ Righteous brings together four carefully arranged edits and comes as a hand-stamped white label that transfers Detroit’s gritty club aesthetic straight to the dance floor. Gino opens the A-side with “Funk Beyond,” a guitar-driven funk cut that’s steered into a house-ready bouncer, and counters it with “Sunshine Ramp,” a break-heavy, psychedelia-tinged edit of a ’70s classic. Both tracks are defined by prominent basslines and playful rhythmic detailing that slot perfectly into DJ sets.

The B-side is taken over by DJ Righteous with two powerful cuts: “6 Minutes Of NRG” works as a trippy, jazz dance-oriented beatdown that unfolds dense textures, while “Never Forget” lifts off as a dusty gospel-disco number and closes with warm organ chords and punchy drum shots. Hand-stamped on Detroit’s East Side, the edition is aimed at collectors and DJs seeking hard-hitting edits with authentic Detroit flavor. With *Edits From Detroit Volume 4*, Rocksteady Disco once again bundles danceable, DJ-friendly reworks of regional sounds.

The “Share My Love” 12" by Bruce Ivery, released on Stilove4music, blends disco and boogie with the distinctive signature of an experienced producer and editor. Born in Chicago, the artist first gained recognition as a member of the Chuck Brothers collective and has established himself in the international dance scene through his edits and original productions.

At the center is “Share My Love,” a funk-driven edit with a warm groove and a clear focus on the dance floor. Bruce Ivery works with precise arrangements and a keen sense of rhythmic dynamics. The release also includes “En El Arbusto” as well as “Nova Funk” featuring Bigg Donn and its instrumental version. “Nova Funk” in particular builds on Ivery’s interest in classic funk and disco structures, showcasing his ability to transform familiar source material into a contemporary form.

“Share My Love” fits seamlessly into Stilove4music’s rich discography, which for years has connected disco, house, and related styles with a strong link to Chicago and Detroit. On this 12", Bruce Ivery brings together his experience as a DJ, producer, and editor. His more recent work likewise shows that he does not simply reproduce historic funk motifs, but transforms them into distinctive, club-ready arrangements. In this way, “Share My Love” creates a compelling connection between classic boogie spirit and modern edit culture.

The “Dgv004” 12-inch released on Discogram brings the label’s aesthetic to vinyl in a compact format, focusing on danceable, arranged disco edits. The A-side opens with “Bobby,” an open, horn-led track driven by bright trumpets and classic disco lead vocals, while “The King” leans more heavily into funk with its pronounced bass groove and punchy accents. Here, Discogram demonstrates a refined sense of arrangement and DJ-friendly dynamics.

The B-side expands the range: “Me Enciendes” works with big clap patterns and falsetto vocals that give the track an airy, club-ready dimension, while the closing track relies on restrained, dub-like structures with subtle Afro-inspired elements. The tracks were editorially edited by Discogram and brought together in a clear, groove-oriented sound designed for dance-floor playability. The “Dgv004” 12-inch once again positions Discogram as a label that combines classic disco elements with contemporary production methods, and it is distributed via Juno.

The “Il Segreto” 12-inch by Battistino, released on Mondo Groove, presents itself as the first chapter of a planned trilogy, linking precisely produced dance-floor ideas with narrative obscurity. Battistino, the artist alias of Marco Battistini, showcases a sonic aesthetic that combines Italo disco, French electro, and late-1970s disco with elements of Italian pop culture. The arrangements rely on driving synth grooves, distinctive bass lines, and a deliberate graininess in the electronic drums; saturated synthesizers and subtle harmonic distortion create an edgy texture alongside catchy melodies.

The 12-inch includes tracks such as “Confidenza,” “La Disco Segreta,” and “L’ultima cena,” complemented by a remix version of “Confidenza” by N.O.I.A. This emphasizes the choice between a club-focused approach and atmospheric attention to detail. With this release, Mondo Groove continues its mission of pairing contemporary dance music with references to Italy’s sonic heritage, while Battistino approaches his role less as a performer than as a curator: each track functions as a documentary excerpt from a larger, fictionalized narrative. In this sense, Battistino’s “Il Segreto” 12-inch is both a narrative sketch and a functional addition for DJs and collectors looking for carefully composed, danceable material within the modern Italo and nu-disco scene.

Released on Disco Mind, the 12" Romance Disco: An Edits Collection by Seba Korecky presents itself as a compact set of carefully tailored edits that apply the concept of disco / boogie in a focused form. Seba Korecky makes the album’s concept clear in the title: a selection of newly arranged short edits and reworks that highlight melodic elements and rhythmic nuances from the disco cosmos and condense them into concise, DJ‑friendly versions.

Over the course of the record, Seba Korecky spans a range from soulful strings and funky bass patterns to syncopated percussion figures, with each edit executed in a precise manner and reduced to the essence of the original. The production relies on clear, groove‑oriented arrangements and, in addition to groove‑based basslines, emphasizes atmospheric pads and targeted breaks that facilitate transitions and ease of mixing. With Romance Disco: An Edits Collection, Disco Mind releases a 12" that presents Seba Korecky as the editor and curator of the tracks and offers the disco / boogie genre a concentrated, edit‑centered showcase.

The 12-inch “Gleddits 001” by Gledd, released on Saint Wax, brings together five focused renditions that highlight the label’s interest in funk, disco, and soul. The A-side opens with “Street Preacher” and “Stevie’s Word,” while the B-side rounds out the set with “Do It For Me,” “Under The Moonlight,” and “Your Love.” Edited and produced by Eduardo Barbi, better known as Gledd, the collection reads like the first installment in a compact series of edits on his label and emphasizes loop‑oriented arrangements and warm rhythms.

Musically, the record bridges choral soul elements, drawn‑out funk basslines, and danceable disco grooves. “Street Preacher” works with spoken word over a choral foundation, while “Stevie’s Word” stands out with a strong, driving bass figure. “Do It For Me” leans on gospel‑tinged stabs, “Under The Moonlight” relies on tight, springy drums, and “Your Love” closes with wide, sweeping horns and full, rich chords.

The production is deliberately geared toward groove and DJ‑friendliness; Gledd takes on a curatorial role and handles the fine‑tuning of the arrangements, giving the tracks impact both in the club and in collection‑oriented contexts. “Gleddits 001” fits seamlessly into the Saint Wax catalog and documents the label’s stylistic breadth, spanning Afro, disco, and house influences.

Released on Life And Death, the *Cold Hands* 12" by DJ Tennis and M-High presents three distinct takes on the same core song: the “Italo Mix,” the “House Flip,” and the “Electro Mix,” which together define the single-focused structure of the release.

The collaboration came about after Manfredi and Marijn met for a studio session in Paris, where they combined their shared love of unusual voices, analog synthesizers, and an open approach to electronic music and punk—elements that are reflected in the arrangements. On *Cold Hands*, DJ Tennis contributes a clearly prominent vocal for the first time, giving all three mixes a unifying, melancholic tone.

On the 12", in addition to the three versions, there are detailed production credits: composition and production by Manfredi Romano and Marijn Schiedon, with additional production by Dudi Bagdadi, additional mixing by Nicolas Audren, and mastering by Alex Gopher; artwork and visual contributions by Becks Lange and Ismaele Nones. Musically, the release combines disco/boogie elements with Italo, electro, and house arrangements, showcasing the musical range that Life And Death documents on this release.

The compilation “Sistema Sprezzatura EP” is being released as a 12-inch on Sosilly Edits, launching a new series featuring various artists whose shared principle is a collection of carefully curated edits that feel effortless and spontaneous. Four tracks bring together Italo disco, disco, and psychedelically influenced renditions with a pronounced feel for tension and groove.

The A-side introduces the new Sprezzatura project. The name belongs to a formation from Little Italy on Norton Street in Sydney, developing Italo disco originals, edits, and deep party music for long nights. “Muko Wapi” and “Get On That Sound” combine elegant synthesizers, driving bass lines, and precisely measured drama. On the second track, Sprezzatura receives support from Trent Rackus. The music remains deliberately stylish and rich in detail without losing its immediate club appeal.

The B-side takes a different direction. Boxcar delivers a psych-rock rework with “Eagle,” while Space Jockey contributes “Falcon.” Both projects have already appeared on Sosilly Edits and expand the EP’s sonic range with more angular guitar tones and a more organic dynamic. In this way, “Sistema Sprezzatura EP” brings together different approaches to editing without losing its common thread of groove, elegance, and controlled spontaneity.

With this 12-inch, Ruffiani once again puts its own label concept front and center: edits and reworks take center stage, with the material designed for functionality in the club and immediate impact. The production relies on precise transitions, condensed grooves, and selective melodic flourishes that give the four tracks a clear, dancefloor-ready character. For DJs and collectors, “Ruffiani 002” offers a streamlined, cohesive addition to the label catalog, further developing Ruffiani’s style as a platform for carefully selected edit work.

The “Tessitura” 12" released on Bordello A Parigi by Tallac presents itself as a compact four-tracker that picks up directly from his appearance on “Diamonds in the Night” and fuses the energy of the club floor with a pronounced synth aesthetic. Tessitura relies on clear, dance-oriented arrangements in which elegant undercurrents and striking melodic lines create an effect that is both powerful and floating.

At the center are tracks like “Carbon Copy,” whose hard drums serve as a runway for expansive synth passages, as well as the slower “Kiss Me Quick,” which brings in an analog, warm moment. “Pythia” works with rumbling kicks and hissing hi-hats topped by a driving melody, while the closing “Cybersyn” merges cosmic hues with late-night club energy. On Bordello A Parigi, the EP is placed at the intersection of nu-disco and indie dance; Tallac’s work deliberately maintains a balance between dancefloor-focused immediacy and atmospheric breadth, allowing “Tessitura” to unfold its full effect both in DJ sets and during the late hours in the club.

As a 12-inch compilation, “8 Years Of Blur Records Volume 2” documents Blur’s curatorial signature and provides a direct insight into the label’s different facets. With the 12" “Special Edition Vol 1: In Order To Michael” released on R&C, R&C presents a compelling work that stands as a cohesive musical continuation of their output to date. Across four tightly constructed tracks, the release explores the intersection of groovy funk, electronic production, and Balearic melodies; the arrangements foreground accented basslines, fluid synth flows, and a pared‑down, dance‑oriented drum setup. R&C focuses on concise structures and subtle refinements in the details, making the tracks work equally well in club settings and for attentive listening at home. The special edition slots into a series of renditions in which familiar musical motifs are newly contoured through modern sound treatments, creating a connection between retro aesthetics and contemporary sound design. The production emphasizes transparency across the frequency spectrum and clarity in the midrange, allowing vocals and melodic elements to stand out clearly without obscuring the rhythmic foundation. For listeners who value rhythmic elegance combined with electronic finesse, this 12" offers a focused glimpse into R&C’s current work and extends the project’s existing repertoire with four purposeful, carefully honed pieces.

With the 12" Beachball released on We Shine In The Darkness, Julian Sanza / Lafrench Toast take their creativity to the next level while, for the most part, staying true to their style. On this split release, the duo combines dancefloor-focused energy with darker, more introspective tones; distinctive synth figures meet pulsing basslines and stripped-back, precise percussion that clearly push the groove to the forefront.

The tracks rely on subtle builds of tension rather than attention-grabbing drops and are defined by a well-balanced blend of warm, analog textures and modern production techniques. Catchy motifs alternate with extended, hypnotic passages, making the 12" equally suitable for club sets and more relaxed listening sessions.

Musically, the release draws on the familiar spectrum of indie dance and dark disco, with clear influences from leftfield electronics; the work of the two protagonists is characterized by a finely tuned sense of drama and danceable arrangements. Beachball adds to the existing body of work by Julian Sanza and Lafrench Toast on the We Shine In The Darkness label and reinforces the label’s direction as a platform for contemporary, introspective club music.

The “Fantastic Love” 12" released on Romance Music by Lorenzo Dada marks his first appearance on his own Romance label and clearly showcases its concept: a destination for romantically tinged, 90s-referencing house aesthetics. The release includes three original tracks, laying the foundation for the new label’s musical identity.

“Fantastic Love” is highlighted as the record’s central track and at the same time articulates the project’s sonic intent by capturing the characteristic mood of Romance. The title track is complemented by “Dance” and “I Love Your Way,” which together explore the spectrum between disco/boogie and a 90s-inspired house sensibility. The selection conveys a confident balance of nostalgic warmth and modern production precision, which the label puts forward as its guiding principle.

With this 12", Romance Music makes a statement that sharpens Lorenzo Dada’s role both as an artist and as a label head. The release not only documents three stand-alone compositions, but also serves as the first contribution to the Romance catalog to clearly define its profile, audibly introducing the label’s programmatic direction.

After releasing their well-received 7” and 12” singles ‘Night Time’ and ‘Feel It / So Hot’, Isle of Jura is pleased to present Exotic Illusions, the debut album from D.D. Mirage, the Sydney-based duo of Josh Dives and Disky Dee.

Having first played music together during the mid-2010s in the indie-psyche and punky-shoegaze bands King Colour and SCK CHX, the two Australian musicians/DJs came up in the warehouse party scene that fermented in the wake of the Sydney lockout laws. While organising mixed media events under the Yeah Nah Yeah brand, they discovered the joys of disco, dance-punk and the Balearic beat through Pender St Steppers’ DJ mixes and reissue releases and found themselves changing direction in response.

Written and recorded with a range of vintage keyboards and preamps, instruments and digital studio software, Exotic Illusions is a cosmopolitan love letter to the immaculate blend of Italo disco, Neopolitan funk, Nigerian boogie, cosmic house, synth-pop, UK street soul and lovers rock sounds that have inspired D.D. Mirage since they began this iteration of their ever-evolving musical relationship.

“The name Exotic Illusions refers to our fascination with all of this music made in other parts of the world,” they explain. “During lockdown and thereafter, we indulged in these exotic sounds as an antidote to our lack of travel. This fascination continued as the world opened up again, and we started working on tunes together. It’s also a way of acknowledging that we feel like tourists partaking in these styles and established sounds. They aren’t ours and weren’t born out of the place we’re from, but we hope we’ve been able to add something unique to them.”

In recognition of this, rather than just reinterpreting genre motifs through an antipodean lens, D.D. Mirage opened up lines of communication with some of their favourite musicians from the Neapolitan scene, bassist Daniel Monaco (Rush Hour, Periodica Records) and drummer Andrea De Fazio (Parbleu/ Nu Genea), who recorded the rhythm section for ‘So Hot’. They also wrote to the Manchester-based singer/producer Private Joy, who graced ‘Night Time’ with a smoother-than-silk street soul vocal that helped the single secure crucial plays on NTS and BBC Radio 6.

Opening with the tropical melodies, post-disco machine beats and jilted art-punk singalong chants of the title track, Exotic Illusions unfolds as a series of sturdy, internationally-minded dancefloor excursions. ‘Piranesi’ is boogie with a South American shuffle. ‘So Hot’ is Neapolitan funk with a Leichhardt strut, and ‘Antenna’ (featuring Jofi) is D.D. Mirage’s love letter to ‘80s drum machine bossa nova from Brussels.

On ‘Feel It’, the duo hit a sparking groove that reaches into an eternal sunset of the mind before throwing out a bubbly disco-not disco spoken word bounce on ‘Cat’s Cradle’, featuring psychedelic-pop singer Jermango Dreaming. From there, D.D. Mirage bring it home with a cheeky Aussie drawl on ‘Living Upside Down’ and the nocturnal excellence of ‘Night Time’, making a case for themselves as a significant new force from Australian music to the world. full sleeve artwork from Bradley Pinkerton.

The "Secret Vault 004" 12" by Secret Vault is released on Secret Vault and continues the series of anonymous edit releases from the small label. The record features two tracks on a 12" with the catalog number SVV004; "Track 1" appears on the A-side, while the B-side features "Track 2."

According to the label, the series is driven by anime-inclined crate-diggers dedicated to the craft of edits, who deliberately tailor their selections for club use. The A-side turns an overlooked groove into a peak-time banger: compact drums, a rolling bassline, and increasingly dense vocal work keep the arrangement on track. The B-side, by contrast, moves in the direction of a lighter, horn-laced disco workout with catchy bass motifs and steadily building dynamics.

The production remains respectful of the original recordings but leans on punchy reworks to ensure the cuts hold up in a DJ context. Overall, the 12" presents a clear, dance-focused aesthetic that blends retro elements with a contemporary club sensibility, establishing the series as a reliable source of carefully reconstructed disco reworks.

The “Studio 514” 12" by Studio 514 is released on Sent From The Future and continues the archival exploration of the project’s late‑90s material; the record brings together recordings from various sessions from the same period, offering a parallel snapshot of Montreal’s emerging underground house scene at its peak.

Studio 514 returns and, for this release, teams up with collaborator Vittorio Lagioia, further developing the familiar Studio 514 sound without losing its characteristic groove aesthetic and analog warmth. The tracks were transferred straight from the original DAT tapes, presenting the recordings in their original form.

The original mixes by Don Diamond used here preserve the rawness, swing, and intent of the moments in which the tracks were created. Sonically, driving disco‑house grooves, warm filter and bass landscapes, and organic‑sounding percussion elements dominate; the arrangements rely on groove and space rather than unnecessary ornamentation. The result is a documentary‑style look at a local scene that both reflects the production aesthetic of the late nineties and emphasizes the timeless quality of analog club music.

With this LP, Wax Digits Music delivers a focused concept that translates the project’s name directly into music.

Musically, “Surgery Edits” relies on striking, funk-driven bass figures, syncopated rhythms, and subtle arrangement details that oscillate between classic disco flair and boogie-infused modernity. The edits focus on the impact of individual motifs: extended intro segments, tightened breaks, and emphasized groove phrases create room to play for DJs while remaining fully geared toward immediate club use. Surgery Edits employs melodic elements sparingly to foreground rhythmic dynamics without sacrificing melodic pull.

For listeners who follow the Wax Digits Music label, this LP condenses the characteristic strengths of disco and boogie aesthetics into a compact release. The “Surgery Edits” LP centers on danceable arrangement work and precise, dancefloor-focused editing.

Id_ua’s “Idee Fixe” 12-inch is released on Povilno, blending disco and boogie with a deeply personal perspective. The record presents itself as a musical diary assembled from fragments of different stages of life. Over a period of five years, the release absorbed all the contrasts that shape the everyday life of the Ukrainian producer and DJ: inspiration and pain, hope and fear, light and darkness.

Some of the tracks were created during the pandemic, when the world was defined by uncertainty and stagnation. Other recordings come from a later, more turbulent period of the war. Id_ua does not translate these experiences into a linear narrative, but instead preserves individual moments and inner states in musical form. As a result, “Idee Fixe” feels like a series of condensed snapshots in which personal memory and the pressures of contemporary history are closely intertwined.

The release contains six tracks, including “Idee Fixe,” “Neighbours,” and “Burn.” Each track represents its own excerpt from this biographical collection, while the overall picture traces the project’s development over several years. With the “Idee Fixe” 12-inch, Povilno provides Id_ua with a fitting platform for a record that uses disco and boogie elements not as a mere stylistic exercise, but combines them with reflection, vulnerability, and documentary intimacy.

The “There’s A Hole” 12" released on Oraculo presents Jordan Lieb in a noticeably darker, more introspective light. With Shadows is the project of the North American producer also known as Black Light Smoke, who has previously released house and techno records on Scissor & Thread, The Hacker’s Zone and Tiga’s Turbo Recordings.

Musically, Lieb combines cold synthesizers, pulsating bass lines and haunting vocals on “There’s A Hole,” creating an atmosphere somewhere between darkwave, dark Italo and EBM-leaning technopop. The opening still carries a clear rhythmic tension before the compositions gradually slow down and transition into more melancholic, shoegaze-like spaces. “Heart Of Glass” succinctly captures this blend of dark club energy and personal songwriting, while the title track forms the emotional center of the release.

With Shadows frees Jordan Lieb from the usual structures of electronic club music and instead puts his skills as a songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist front and center. The tracks originate from two digital releases on his own Ancient Spells label and have been newly compiled for the 12" on Oraculo. “There’s A Hole” was written by Lieb, recorded in the United States and mastered for vinyl by D. Hallhuber. Limited to 300 copies, the release makes Oraculo an important platform for this distinctive facet of his musical work.

The “Dance Machine” 12" by Wil Do, released on Nila's Quest, fuses disco/boogie with elements of house, Italo disco, progressive house, and tech house. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Nila's Quest, this release adds a focused, dance-oriented entry to the label’s catalog and emphasizes the bridge between nostalgic disco aesthetics and contemporary club forms. Throughout, Wil Do stays firmly rooted in the groove while exploring the intersections with modern production approaches.

Across the 12", a dramatic arc unfolds that combines melodic Italo motifs with structured, progressive house developments; tech house elements provide precise rhythmic drive, while disco/boogie inflections add a warm momentum. The tracks on “Dance Machine” invite seamless transitions through clear arrangement choices and, thanks to their stylistic range, offer different ways to be used in DJ sets. The arrangements rely on dynamic builds and distinctive hooks that connect nostalgic warmth with modern forward thrust. The production thus creates space for subtle melodic lines while keeping a strong focus on driving movement.

Nila's Quest uses this release to make its five-year anniversary audibly tangible, and with “Dance Machine” Wil Do delivers a compact, cross-genre contribution that draws on both the Italo tradition and current currents in house music. The recommended retail price is between €18.70 and €23.38, including tax.

The 7" single released on Love Poet Productions and titled “Special Part Of My Life / The Groove” by Garth carries catalog number LPP002 and brings together two tracks that stand out in radio playlists and club sets as soulful, boogie‑oriented cuts. Garth stays grounded rhythmically, with arrangements built around an emphatic groove and smooth vocal lines, making the single appealing both for late‑night sets and for collections with a classic‑soul focus.

On this release, Garth showcases his feel for subtle rhythm and melodic restraint; the productions are compact and focused, without ever tipping into excess. The clear separation of the two sides allows the tracks to be heard as self‑contained statements: one side bears the title “Special Part Of My Life,” the other “The Groove,” so the single functions as a pair of different yet related moods.

Key characteristics of the release are the distinctive label presence of Love Poet Productions and the concise, to‑the‑point running time of the 7", which appeals to collectors and DJs alike. With this single, Garth remains an example of a contemporary take on soul that fully unfolds its effect on small‑format releases.
