Neurosis will play their first show in seven years on the traditional lands of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana as part of Fire in the Mountains festival by special invitation of Firekeeper Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to reducing youth suicide in Indian Country.

FITM, is a unique festival known for bringing epic music to epic landscapes with the intent of reconnecting and immersing oneself with the natural world, and strengthening our ancestral roots as human beings - an aim which aligns directly with Neurosis’ deep-rooted power.

The "Dopesmoker" LP by Sleep is being released on Third Man and brings together the project’s central, roughly 63‑minute composition, which was already recorded in 1996 and circulated in various versions before it became widely known as Dopesmoker. The Third Man edition uses a new master created by Carl Saff from the original master tapes, which clearly brings out the rich depth of the guitar riffs.

Musically, Sleep operate in a borderland between stoner and doom metal: endlessly unfolding, lumbering riffs, low‑tuned amps, and Al Cisneros’s monotone, spoken‑chant vocals define the compositional structure. The piece’s architecture relies on repetitive motifs and subtle variations that lend the work its meditative heaviness and emphasize the epic character of this single long track.

Third Man supplements the remaster with extensive bonus material: the “green kush” LPs pressed exclusively for the Vault package, previously unreleased takes, a studio recording of the long‑lost track "Hot Lava Man," as well as a 7" featuring a radio version and an abridged take on the main theme expand the set. In parallel, a special “Weedian High‑Fi” deluxe pressing was issued, in which real cannabis leaves were artfully embedded into the vinyl and which was offered exclusively at the Third Man store in Detroit.

For the recordings, Sleep themselves and Billy Anderson were responsible for tracking and mixing; the Third Man edition continues this production tradition and, with the new mastering, presents a documentary‑precise sonic portrait of the band.

Carefully restored from the original master tapes and newly mixed and mastered, the 19-track album presents Savatage at peak voltage: ferocious yet refined, balancing power metal muscle with the sweeping grandeur that would soon shape their next chapter.

Many fans consider the 1990 lineup to be “peak Savatage”, and listening to this performance, it’s hard to disagree. On stage, five distinct personalities ignited the night: the youthful and electrifying Chris Caffery; bassist Johnny Lee Middleton, matching Caffery’s fire note for note; the hard-hitting and wildly animated Steve “Doc” Wacholz behind his gargantuan triple-bass kit; the virtuosic Criss Oliva, channelling precision and passion in equal measure; and at the center of it all, the charismatic ringmaster Jon Oliva in absolute prime form.

The "Paradise Metal" LP by Fr. Dionysios Tabakis is released on Heat Crimes in collaboration with Elhellel and gathers an unusual home recording that fuses sacred chants with droning guitar landscapes. The record adheres to a slow, heavy rhythm that reads less as a genre exercise than as a continuation of Byzantine practice in a new guise, conveying a sense of stone walls and unceasing prayer.

Tabakis works within Byzantine logic: scales, intervals, and the relationships between notes govern the structure. Accompanied by instruments such as qanun, oud, cümbüş, ney, zurna, Politiki and Pontic lyra, kabak kemane, and yali tanbur, expansive, meditative sound fields emerge. On two pieces, the breathless presence of a perfectly tuned fretless electric guitar (perdesiz) dominates, allowing for moria subtleties and shaping tones in intervals that Western tuning had long excluded.

On two tracks, Evgenia Symela Armeni sings in the psaltic tradition, including the Pontic hymn "Χαίρε Παρθένε Σουμελά" and the liturgical "Ρόδον Ψυχής", both clearly recognizable as devotional insertions within the drone stream. Tabakis, a priest at the Panagitsa in Nafplio, also writes books such as Into the Abyss with a View of Paradise and The Mad Forerunner; his themes link ascetic silence with contemporary sensibilities. This release marks the first physical appearance by this composer.

Threading together the myth of a man sentenced to death in a majestically malevolent desert, the band conjures the grains of a musical and lyrical odyssey slipping quickly through a cosmic hourglass. Emperor of Sand is like the grim reaper, says drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor. Sand represents time. If you or anyone you know has ever received a terminal diagnosis, the first thought is about time. Invariably, you ask, 'How much time is left?' We're reflecting on mortality, adds bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders. To that end, the album ties into our entire discography. It's 17 years in the making, but it's also a direct reaction to the last two years. We tend to draw inspiration from very real things in our lives. The colored vinyl edition of the “Necroshine Popup LP Green Vinyl Edition” LP by Overkill was released on Church Of Vinyl and comes as a limited edition with a gatefold pop-up cover; the run consists of 500 hand-numbered copies on green vinyl.

The underlying album “Necroshine” dates back to 1999 and marks the band’s tenth studio album; musically, the record combines characteristic thrash speed with pronounced groove passages, resulting in a distinctive, hard-hitting sound. Tracks such as “Necroshine,” “My December,” and “Let Us Prey” exemplify the blend of driving riffs, gripping rhythms, and the unmistakable voice of Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth. Overall production was handled by the band together with Andy Katz; recording took place in late 1998, giving the work a dense, organic tonal character.

The longtime core members were responsible for bringing it to life: Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth (vocals), D.D. Verni (bass, backing vocals), the guitar work of Joe Comeau and Sebastian Marino, as well as Tim Mallare on drums, all shape the compositional direction.
