Originally performed as part of the BBC Proms in July 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall, with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC Singers and narration from actor Juliet Stevenson. It has been revised and rearranged in this new production by Pet Shop Boys and Sven Helbig.

Pet Shop Boys recorded the album in the last year in the UK and Germany. The album features the Manchester Camerata Octet, the Manchester Gammar School Choir and narration from Juliet Stevenson. String and vocal arrangements are by Sven Helbig.

'Silver City', now a definitive 20 track techno-pop opus, was written and produced by Marc with celebrated cult German electronic music production duo Starcluster and is Marc Almond's "most synth laden body of work since Soft Cell" (Electricity Club, 2016). It is indeed, a sheer joy to hear Marc Almond's deft and distinctive vocals alongside a vast array of vintage analogue synthesisers in this resplendently authentic, retro-futuristic setting; an album that provides an eloquent refracted echo of his formative synth-pop work in revered synth duo Soft Cell. Doubting all the time. Fearing all the time. Our Darkness descends upon Dark Entries with a reissue of Anne Clark’s epochal proto-house masterpiece from 1984. As a young poet, Clark found herself drawn to London’s emerging punk scene. She became acquainted with Psychic TV affiliate David Harrow, with whom she would collaborate on 1983’s Changing Places and 1984’s Joined Up Writing. “Our Darkness,” off the latter album, was released as a single on Ink Records that same year, and became an underground club hit. It’s a singular piece of music: Clark’s lyrics, delivered with equal parts muscular confidence and unease, speak of urban alienation and heartbreak, while Harrow’s production pummels the listener with hydraulic beats and gloom-laced arpeggios. The song’s spirit would prove influential on both the early Chicago house and Detroit techno scenes, where mechanistic funk and existential despair could catalyse dancefloor mayhem. This reissue offers three versions of “Our Darkness”: the original 12” remix, the Razormaid mix, and a previously unreleased dub version uncovered by David Harrow. Also included is the extended mix of “Sleeper in Metropolis,” another dancefloor hit of Clark’s, as well as the elegiac “Poem for a Nuclear Romance.” The record includes an insert with liner notes and lyrics. “Our Darkness” channels timeless longing and contemporary dismay, a classic overdue for a little light shed upon it.

The Blue Vinyl Edition of the "Casas" LP by Rubel is released on Mr Bongo and now brings this intricately arranged work to market as a colored pressing; Mr Bongo highlights the release as part of its Brazil series and handles worldwide distribution of the vinyl and CD editions outside Brazil and Japan.

Musically, "Casas" connects traditional MPB roots with elements of samba, bossa nova, and contemporary hip-hop textures: acoustic guitar sits alongside subtly used samples and percussive accents, giving the tracks a feel that is at times airy, at others contemplative. The record features 14 tracks, including guest appearances by Emicida and Rincon Sapiência, which add further rhythmic and lyrical contrast to the album.

On "Casas," Rubel appears as singer, songwriter, and arranger; the songs are characterized by simple melodic lines and carefully crafted lyrics, with some tracks combining folkloric patterns with urban beats. The “Electric Sun” LP by VNV Nation is released on Metropolis. The eleventh studio album came out on April 28, 2023, and comprises twelve tracks, including the title-opening “Electric Sun” as well as “Before The Rain,” “Wait,” “Run,” and “Sunflare.” In North America, Metropolis issued the album, among other formats, as a 2x clear vinyl edition; there is also a limited blue 2xLP pressing. The track sequence alternates between anthemic, electronics-driven arrangements and quieter, more ballad-like moments, with structured melodies and sing-along choruses at the center.

Ronan Harris is credited as the sole composer and songwriter and also handled production at Anachron Studios in Hamburg. Harris mixed the recordings together with Benjamin Lorenz, who also took care of mastering at Chameleon Studios; André Winter contributed additional production on several tracks. Lyrically, the album draws on reflections about identity, power, and hope, explored in more detail in its longer pieces. The production leans on dense synthesizer textures, sharply defined basslines, and precisely programmed drum parts, while Harris’s vocals shift between grandiose and restrained deliveries. Taken as a whole, “Electric Sun” on Metropolis presents a carefully arranged, production-wise clear statement within VNV Nation’s body of work.

The blue vinyl edition of Roxette’s “Have A Nice Day” LP has been released by Warner and presents the duo’s sixth studio album in a colored pressing that adds a new visual highlight to the original artwork. This edition makes the material available in physical form as an LP and puts the record’s well-known songs back in the spotlight.

Musically, “Have A Nice Day” documents Per Gessle’s songwriting strength and Marie Fredriksson’s distinctive voice; the album includes, among others, the singles “Wish I Could Fly,” “Anyone” and “Salvation,” all of which already enjoyed strong exposure upon the original release. The productions are by Per Gessle, Marie Fredriksson and longtime collaborator Clarence Öfwerman, supported by recording engineer Michael Ilbert, resulting in arrangements that move between electronic elements, guitar work and orchestral accents.

The Warner edition once again makes the album’s compositions available on LP and, with the blue vinyl variant, emphasizes both the visual and sonic profile of the release.
