Released on Uprising, the “Red Hot Car / Agent 007 Dance” 7" split release by Bobby Verne / Buddy Wayne brings together two historic, dance‑oriented rarities on a single record. “Red Hot Car” is a sax‑driven rockabilly blast that came out in 1962 on the small California Doc Holiday label and is considered the only recording by Bobby Verne; apparently only a small number were pressed, which has made the original a sought‑after rarity.

The flip side features Buddy Wayne’s “Agent 007 Dance,” on which, in 1965, he added his own lyrics to Gary Paxton’s James Bond version. The single was released on the short‑lived Big Ben label and went unnoticed for decades, until rockabilly circles discovered the track as a perfect stomper; shortly afterward Northern Soul and Mod DJs picked it up, allowing it to slowly reach a wider audience.

As a curated pairing on a 7", the Uprising edition does justice to both tracks: it combines raw rockabilly drive with a retro‑groovy dance number and brings both cuts back to the dance floor. In this way, the release offers a compact, stylistically focused selection of early dance culture that can appeal to collectors and new listeners alike.

Ralph Emery introduces the audience and hosts the show, adding humorous highlights throughout the set alongside the songs.

Musically, Buck Owens and the Buckaroos deliver classics and fan favorites, including “Act Naturally” and “I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail,” rounded out with instrumental highlights such as a version of “Orange Blossom Special” featuring Don Rich and a solo feature by Tom Brumley on steel guitar. Finland’s hottest surf rock band Mary Ann Hawkins are set to release a special compilation of their early EP’s Waves Won’t Lie / Rumble, completed with five unreleased tracks on October 23rd via Svart Records.

This release brings together the band’s self-released EP’s Waves Won’t Lie (2017) and Rumble (2019), both of which have long been sold out and never released on a 12” vinyl before. In addition to the original EP’s, the release features five previously unreleased tracks from the same era. However, these tracks were only recorded in the studio in the spring of 2026 specifically for this release and the EP’s have also been remastered for the compilation.

Mary Ann Hawkins has been a familiar sight at leading festivals, skate events’ after-parties, squats across Central Europe and Finnish concert halls alike. Linda Parrish and Patti Valentine met in the mid-1960s at the well-known club Guys & Dolls and first sang with the Driving Winds, whose leader Carl Edmondson also became the group’s producer and manager. Their debut single, a cover of Petula Clark’s "Heart," became a regional hit in 1966 and reached the Billboard charts. The follow-up "Walk Tall Like A Man" entered the Billboard Hot 100 and made the duo one of the most striking pop acts to come out of Cincinnati.

Recorded over two weeks at High/Low Recording in Memphis, Tennessee by Toby Vest, Too High To Kross quickly sold out, as the band toured up a storm. At the time nobody knew the album would spell THE E-n-d for Volcom Entertainment, who went bankrupt shortly after its one and only vinyl pressing. It’s remained out of print ever since. Until now.

For years, aftermarket copies have been scarce and prohibitively pricey, and a proper reissue has been long overdue. After working with members’ other projects (Hershguy and Brower), Dig! Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Tim Green (The Melvins, Earthless, The Fucking Champs) at Louder Studios over the course of Venus re-emerging as the evening star, Theya Vol. 1 is a fully realized introduction to the band’s expansive world.

Theya was first envisioned in 2018 by longtime friends Tuula Paivio-Ala and Michael Scanland. Together, they began developing a shared sound, with Scanland’s bass providing a steady foundation and Paivio-Ala’s baritone leads adding a heavy melodic edge. Drummer Mic Rawls soon joined, strengthening the rhythmic core. Followed by Samantha Grove on lead vocals, whose four octave range brought a powerful and dynamic presence. Tobias Wettstein completed the lineup on second guitar, complementing the band’s evolving sound. Together, the band has crafted a musical language entirely their own.

Theya Vol. 1 moves with cinematic scope, weaving together mythology, cosmic consciousness, Philip K. Dick inspired characters, and fever dream symbolism. As the band assumes mythic forms, the Witch, the Warrior, the Horseman, and the Wizard, they guide the listener through a shifting terrain of shadow and revelation. Shaped by deep musical devotion and a belief in the redemptive power of rock and roll, Theya Vol. 1 is an immersive blend of heavy psych and metal that opens the door to something vast and fully realized.

BILLY has been releasing records since 1979, HOLLY has been releasing records since 1990, in 1999 they got together for a collaborative effort which originally came out in the USA on Wabana records. IN BLOOD is a great album, pretty much ignored in Europe the first time around, it's subtitled 'ONE CHORD! ONE SONG! ONE SOUND!' But it's so much more than that, tracks like 'Demolition Girl' & 'Step Out' roar out of your stereo, really great dirty one chord (with many notes) blues songs with vocal trading, clanging guitars and backed by the Medway Delta Review, which features, Bruce and Johnny of Thee Headcoats as well as Johnny Gibb of the Wildebeests. While simplicity, repetition and sheer rock & roll minimalism are at the heart of the album, In Blood never ceases to hold interest. It's just plain addictive! This re-issue will be a 12" black vinyl album.
