The Streets’ first two albums ‘Original Pirate Material’ and ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ helped to make the UK hip-hop/garage scene a force to be reckoned with on a global scale, and established Mike Skinner as a lyricist with a gift for delivering insightful observations about everyday life. Long out of print, both albums will be repressed and released on double vinyl on March 30th.

‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ emerged two years after their breakthrough debut album and The Streets had already become an international phenomenon. This time around, Mike Skinner constructed an album with an on-going narrative that was by turns hilarious, touching and energising. ‘Dry Your Eyes’ became The Streets’ first #1 single, while ‘Fit But You Know It’ and ‘Blinded By The Lights’ both hit the Top 10.

Freerange Sounds - which shouldn't be confused with Jimpster's deep house label Freerange - is reissuing its first release from back in May 2022 here. It's a dark garage outing from 9trane that kicks off with 'Keep It Moving' (feat Riko Dan) with edgy vocals, late-night urban menace and some crisp drum patterns. The fantastic Bakey dub mix brings more pruning basslines and withering pads while the instrumental is stripped back and more haunting. Last of all is 'Hear This' which leans on the Burial style of ghostly production but with a more fulsome low-end and prickly percussive brew riding the beats. Serious tackle for sure.

The "Tools01" 12" by Kenji HinaAka Alarico was released on Ec2a and continues the project’s focus on stripped‑down, dancefloor‑oriented electronics. The release centers on singular, striking ideas that can be easily placed within a DJ set, presenting sound material designed for clarity and immediate impact.

Style‑wise, Kenji Hina operates in the realm of techno‑oriented club music with a penchant for rhythmic directness and clear, often mechanical grooves; earlier releases such as the "Shinjuku District" record or the "Bring It Down" EP confirm this direction. The close connection to Italian producer Alarico is evident in shared credits and remixes, causing the project to oscillate between atmospheric, driving moments and sober percussion patterns.

Ec2a consciously positions such 12" releases as functional vinyl editions for club use, often employing hand‑stamped white‑label formats that keep the focus on pure sound. Within this context, "Tools01" functions as a precise addition to the existing body of work by Kenji HinaAka Alarico: compact arrangements, deep low‑end foundations, and a clear sense of form shape the sound.

The first album ever to release on Jahtari vinyl, back in circulation for the first time since it’s original release in 2009.

Twelve meticulously crafted lofi Dub oddities by disrupt, off-the-grid riddims with lots of SciFi samples, cheap synths and effects from another world, all soaked in gnarly but deeply cosmic textures and with expert low end mastering by peak time CGB1 at D&M in Berlin.

This new album version includes all-time classics like “SEGA Beats”, a killer chiphop dub cut of Misora Hibari’s “Ringo Oiwake”, as well as “Berzerk Dub” and “Echobombing” (the instrumental to Kiki Hitomi‘s “Nighwalkers“), which only have been released on CD or limited 7″ before.

“The Bass Has Left The Building” comes with iconic cover art by Jimmy Cauty (KLF) – and an inlay poster with an exploding sound system…

“8 AM Swim” by INVT is the first INVT album to be pressed on vinyl. The LP brings together ten tracks, transferring the organic energy of the digital recordings into a physical format that is deliberately geared toward club contexts while still leaving room for detailed production work.

Musically, the Miami duo blends influences from tech house, garage, and Miami bass with Latin American club rhythms; characteristic elements include sinuous grooves, dub‑style echo manipulations, and a pronounced Latin touch in the percussion and arrangements. The production focuses on deep basslines, offset hi‑hat patterns, and sparse pads, making the tracks both danceable and atmospheric while revealing their roots in early, groove‑oriented club traditions.

As a physical edition, the album has been pressed as a 12" on black vinyl and comes in a matte sleeve with a washed lilac texture. Written, produced, and mixed by INVT; mastered at Analogcut Mastering, with distribution handled by Clone. For all INVT releases, this record points listeners to the project’s Bandcamp channel.

The “Attenuation EP” by Main Phase & Talons is released on Tempa and brings together four tracks in a compact 12-inch format: “Artificial,” “Seismic Sense,” “Attenuation (Late Mix),” and “Station Nord.” The selection is clearly aimed at fans of deep bass music and features carefully arranged cuts that are tailored for vinyl releases.

Musically, the duo moves within a spectrum between deep dubstep, 140/UK bass elements, and atmospheric textures; the productions rely on powerful low-end, precise percussion, and spatial reverb treatments. Main Phase brings his experience from the Danish bass scene, while Talons adds organic rhythms and a penchant for modular, hardware-based sounds—both elements that shape the character of the release.

As a collaboration between two producers, the EP documents the complementary working methods of Main Phase & Talons: rhythmic structures and subtle sound-design details alternate with clear basslines, while the “Late Mix” of “Attenuation” offers a version with extended transitions that gives DJs additional mixing options. The release on Tempa positions the record firmly within contemporary bass culture and underscores the focus on club-ready yet experimentally inclined productions.

The 12-inch release "L.O.V.E." on Happiness Therapy by Strandtuch condenses the driving house sound of the Parisian producer and positions itself stylistically between house, garage, and tech house. Electronic basslines meet precisely placed percussion elements, while synth-based, slightly trance-inflected motifs appear throughout the arrangements. The compact structures are geared toward impact in DJ sets, yet still leave room for melodic moments and rhythmic subtleties.

Strandtuch, a Paris-based producer, describes his work as "Power House," blending influences from acid, ghetto house, and trance into a distinctive sonic identity. Previous releases on Happiness Therapy have already showcased this mix and reveal a preference for clear tonalities and high-energy builds; earlier vinyl and digital editions also name specific cutting and mastering partners. This approach continues on "L.O.V.E." while remaining open to varying tempos and textures.

Specific collaborators, extensive production credits, and a complete track listing are not detailed in the publicly available information on the release. Those who want to get an impression can find it via retailer and label pages that list "L.O.V.E." as the artist’s new 12-inch.

Faux Poly is delighted to release its first vinyl record release since 2023: NINA, a rising UKG/Dub prodigy, is arriving with Internal Makeup. Bristol-based NINA has steadily built a reputation as a forward-thinking solo artist, dropping highly sought-after records with a distinct sound and craftsmanship that set him apart. Just one year in, NINA has released on labels such as Innamind Recordings, 20/20 LDN, and Locus Sound. This new chapter is a pure distillation of that journey - a sound informed by dub, garage, grime, and soundsystem pressure. Internal Makeup features four bass-driven club tools that are minimal, weighty and focussed on sub. Opening with “The World Is On Fire”, the only 4x4 track on the record, NINA sets the mood with a cavernous dub techno jam and spaced out vocals. The rest of the record - including the Rowl collaboration “When I Come” - hits firmly in UK Bass territory, with stripped compositions that focus on bass-weight and a strong Bristol influence. Words from NINA: This EP came together slowly and surely over the space of about a year. I wanted to encapsulate my true sound which can be extremely versatile which is why there is a bit of everything on there, from techno to garage to dubstep.

Phonica welcomes Mattias El Mansouri, a Swedish-born DJ and producer of Moroccan/Chilean descent who has been behind some of our favourite releases over the past few years on labels such as Aniara and Nous'klaer. On the 'Sense Data' 12", El Mansouri expands on his atmospheric House and Techno explorations with three deep yet dancefloor primed pieces that hold personal resonance for him. El Mansouri, who holds a degree in Theoretical Philosophy, explains: "'Sense Data' are the immediate elements of perception; what is directly given to the senses before any judgment or interpretation. In vision, these appear as colored, shaped patches; in other senses, as sounds, tastes, smells, or tactile qualities. For example, seeing a brown table with a white coaster involves sense data of a brown patch and a white roundish patch, from which one infers the presence of a table and coaster." On the record's flip, we have the beautiful "Cielo Vacío' and 'Ouzo Hallon' dub version of 'Sense Data'. El Mansouri continues: "Cielo Vacío translates to “empty sky” in Spanish. The track serves as a eulogy for my brother, who passed away in December 2023. I chose this title because it resonates with the sonic and emotional atmosphere of the piece. Its ambiguity is intentional, carrying both the weight of grief that lingers after losing someone you love, and a strange, fragile peace you extend toward the departed. It reflects the hope that, wherever they are, whether or not one believes in an afterlife, they have found rest. Ouzo Hallon translates to Ouzo (the Greek liquor)+Hallon (Raspberry). It’s a long drink that my (Greek) ex came up with last summer, mixing ouzo, raspberry syrup/raspberry juice and ice. It became a thing in our little friend group, consisting of mostly Greeks, and every time we all hang out we would all just drink ouzo hallon until we couldn’t stand straight. I always wanted to name a track Ouzo Hallon, just for the fun of it, and what better way to get the chance than now!"

After operating the Nc4k label since 2017, he embarks on a new challenge by launching his own self-release series. The inaugural release, titled "Foglore," is characterized by its foggy sound design and timeless arrangements reminiscent of folk tales. In this four-track release, Stones Taro explores a fresh interpretation of the fusion between Dub, Techno, and Deep House. These tracks capture the essence of contemporary music in intriguing ways, yet feel as familiar as if they have existed since ancient times.

Released on Trucha Soul, the “Dioses Tribales” LP by various artists brings together a selection of key voices from the Mexican tribal scene and is conceived as a curated compilation by Rosa Pistola. Produced in collaboration by Sabotaje Media, Trucha Soul Records, and La Chekera Records, the record understands itself as a physical archive that connects different generations, regions, and artistic perspectives.

Musically, the compilation moves in the tension between driving club rhythms and folk-inflected percussion patterns: fast, syncopated grooves, pinpoint vocal samples, and deliberately placed percussion elements shape the signature tribal sound, which appears here in different variants. Names such as Ricardo Reyna, DJ Mouse, Freebot, Alfonso Luna, and Clap Freckles show up on the tracklist and offer a sense of the stylistic breadth, ranging from ritually charged dance motifs to street-oriented club cuts.

As documentation, “Dioses Tribales” is less a curatorial snapshot than a connecting line: the sequencing and selection work in a narrative way by placing historical references alongside contemporary productions, thereby tracing the genre’s evolution. In doing so, the LP offers a focused insight into the aesthetics and producer landscape of Mexico’s tribal scene and positions itself as a reference point within this emerging canon.

The "Do The Cobra Dance / Clouds Connect" 12" by Alpine Sound was released on Alpine Sound.

On the A-side, "Do The Cobra Dance" works with dense acid-dub textures: a hypnotic pillar of rhythm adorned with noisy 303 melodies and a pummeling low end. The B-side, "Clouds Connect," opens a quieter, more spacious chapter and shifts the energy toward dub techno; here, muted stabs, expansive delay fields, and a weighty sub-bass dominate, together sketching a wide-open sonic landscape. Throughout, Alpine Sound stays true to its own direction while clearly moving into a more reflective, introspective sound palette.

The production underscores the focus on meticulous sound shaping: according to the notes, the release was mastered by Jack Robinson at The Dub Crate, with pressing handled by Well Tempered. As the duo’s second self-released record, the 12" condenses compact, dense dubs designed equally for focused listening at home and for club play, further sharpening Alpine Sound’s signature through nuanced, bass-driven arrangements.

The "Summer Breeze / Worries In The Dance" 12" by Persian exists as a white‑label promo and dates back to the late 1990s; the sheet lists the release as a BLANK pressing with two focused A and AA sides.

Here, Persian appears in the tradition of the British underground, his work combining elements of jungle and UK garage. "Summer Breeze" uses heavily manipulated, soul‑oriented vocal material that is embedded in a pounding bassline and jagged breaks, while "Worries In The Dance" leans more on shuffle rhythms and classic jungle‑style percussion. This combination of sampled melodics and rough club dynamics reflects Persian’s production approach at the time.

Sonically, the production remains relatively stripped down: sub‑bass‑oriented low‑end lines meet pointed snare accents and selective use of effects, allowing both tracks to unfold their impact primarily in a DJ context. Within UK garage circles, the 12" is regarded as a curious, often‑discussed white‑label release that attracts attention for its idiosyncratic sample and its direct, dancefloor‑oriented arrangements.

“Hard39” by Bailey brings together four driving cuts that oscillate between UK garage, speed garage, and tech house. The record features the tracks “Dis Sound,” “Right 2 Feel,” “Wiz It Down,” and “The Tempo,” each long enough to leave plenty of space for detailed percussion patterns and syncopated basslines. The release was written and produced by Bailey; the material was mastered by Optimum, the artwork was created by Henry Wallis, and it came out in March 2026 via Hardline.

Bailey’s work is defined by a clear club focus: stripped-back but precise arrangements centered on groove and subtlety in drum design. Melodic threads and atmospheric stabs are used sparingly, allowing the tracks to work both in DJ sets and for concentrated listening. The cuts show an affinity with the label’s Manchester aesthetic, combining dark low-end with springy two-step rhythms and using recurring motifs as a guiding thread.

Key characteristics of this release are the tightly curated track selection and Bailey’s distinctive production signature; the record appears as a limited 12-inch vinyl, pressed in an edition of 300 hand-stamped copies. Distribution is handled by One Eye Witness, specifically targeting collectors and DJs with the physical edition.

“Bags Inc.” by Sam Binga & Addison Groove is released on Pineapple and marks the duo’s third full-length within the orbit of Binga’s label. The initial ideas emerged during an intense 72‑hour session at the legendary Devon Analogue Studios, where the two worked with classic drum machines, analog synthesizers, and rare hardware effects; over the next two years they shaped these building blocks into a cohesive body of work.

Musically, the album clearly sits in the realm of uptempo machine‑funk variants, ranging from Detroit jit and Chicago box jams through to turbo‑electro inflections. Across twelve tracks, Sam Binga & Addison Groove explore the tension between 140 and 150 bpm—fast but not overly hard, driven by the trademark groove both are known for and a palpable playfulness in the arrangements. The tracks rely on stripped‑back yet impactful patterns designed both for club use and for close, attentive listening.

On the production side, the recording process follows a hardware‑jamming approach, giving the record its gritty, powerful texture. Mastering was handled by Bob Macc at SC Mastering, with the cut carried out at Sony’s European plant, giving the release sonic depth without sacrificing its essential club energy. As a label, Pineapple provides the ideal framework for this project, which is very direct in both origin and intent.

Roughly three and a half years since pushing the boundaries of 160bpm and stepping beyond the realm of footwork with the Reidai EP, Oyubi returns with an even deeper sound, dropping due yesterday.

This EP consists of four tracks that showcase a darker, more introspective side of the producer, stepping away from the ghetto and booty flavors found in his other releases. However, anchored by his signature sequence patterns, the sound design—striking a perfect balance between playful and profoundly dope—only serves to amplify the groove.

The ultimate embodiment of this evolution is the B1 track, "Taiko 2." While it inherits its name from "Taiko 160" on the Reidai EP, its form is entirely transformed. Relentless, high-speed drums and stripped-back minimal components take over the mind and body like a dark incantation. Packing a hypnotic power that far surpasses its predecessor, it's destined to be a killer weapon in any DJ set. It’s also worth noting that this track draws heavy inspiration from Kode9 & DJ Fulltono’s "TKO."

Naturally, the other three tracks are just as formidable. Infused with elements of dub, A1 "Erekiteru" centers around a pulsing bassline heartbeat, keeping the groove steady alongside crisp, dry claps. Meanwhile, A2 "Da Groove" and B2 "Wop Wop" heavily incorporate Baile Funk and Dembow influences. "Da Groove" is quintessential Oyubi: as the extended intro breaks and the four-to-the-floor kick drops in lockstep with the bass, it guarantees instant unity on the dancefloor. Finally, B2 "Wop Wop" relies on intentional distortion and subtle spatial processing to build its foundation, revealing a dark side akin to "Taiko 2"—complete with an exceptionally punchy snare.

Fully loaded with Oyubi's uncompromising dark-side approach, due yesterday is set to be a 160bpm masterpiece.

In a sharp-angled, fiercely inventive reflection on the nature of club culture and digital fatigue, Simo Cell and Abdullah Miniawy reunite to deliver their new album, Dying is the internet, to Dekmantel's UFO series.

French producer Simo Cell has blazed a singular path from his dubstep-influenced origins to become a leading light in contemporary leftfield club music, twisting up adventurous rhythms and flamboyant production in pursuit of a perpetual freshness for the floor. Egyptian singer, poet, producer and composer Abdullah Miniawy has become equally omnipresent in the past 10 years, straddling the arts world and leading with his piercing Arabic lyricism while maintaining an eternally curious spirit that leads into open-ended, experimental music from the abstract to the propulsive.

Following up on their 2020 EP for BFDM, Kill Me Or Negotiate, Miniawy describes their sharply focused new album as "a playful prophecy about the triggers of a new global revolution." Cell considers the title, Dying is the internet, to be a mantra about "how the internet lost its soul," becoming "less about sharing ideas and more about surviving in a digital business ecosystem." Deliberately at odds with the reel-ready two-minute attention span of the average social media surfer (i.e. everyone), the pair set out to make an album that takes its time to reveal nuanced ideas and expressions. Rather than one-note despair for the modern malaise, Cell and Miniawy offer a philosophical reminder that this present moment in the human experience is a temporary phase, no matter how overwhelming it feels.

Dying is the internet finds Miniawy experimenting with auto-tune across the record, while Cell has developed his voice design chops and compositional instincts, moving closer to fully realised song structures without losing the fundamental 'clubbiness' of each track. The result is a cohesive, wildly original kind of heavyweight dance music that slings out hooks left right and centre, from Miniawy's laconic trumpet looming through low-slung 'Reels in 360' and 'Travelling In BCC' to the persistent handclaps that bring 'Living Emojis' to life. Miniawy's poetry explores the power of insistent, repeated phrases in a break from his more typically structured form.

Kenyan powerhouse Lord Spikeheart adds extra snarl to stripped-back, slow-burn opener 'I See The Stadium', but otherwise Dying is the internet is purely the work of Miniawy and Cell casting their considerable chops out into unexplored territory. The results are electric, bound together by a consistent economy of sound that burrows into a shroud of bass-heavy minimalism barely masking Cell's incredibly detailed studio flex. Even the beatless flourish of the Miniawy-produced 'Tear Chime' comes loaded with physicality — a sensory rush at the mid-section of the album bookended by some of the most idiosyncratic club music in recent memory.

Both Simo Cell and Abdullah Miniawy have already proved themselves as fearless innovators across different fields. The strength of their partnership lies in their ability to make space for each other while letting their distinctive sonic identities ring loud and true. Dying is the internet has immediacy and physicality to translate over a soundsystem, but its intricacies are purpose-built for repeat visits and contemplation, unveiling hidden dimensions the deeper you dive into it.

As he continues a pointed thread of mutant rave manifestation, Low End Activist makes a double-quick jump back onto Peak Oil to lay out the third instalment in the Airdrop series. Once again focusing on a very specific period within UK rave, this time he's zeroed in on the specific crossover zone between UK garage and grime around 1999-2001. In the Activist's hands, the musical codes of past scenes become half-hidden deep in the sound design, bent to the will of the soundboy as he creates sparse, compelling soundscapes for the faraway dance. Grime has been a consistent presence in his toolkit since the first LEA transmissions in the late 2010s, making the concerted transition into this era a natural one.

The presence of skipping 2-step structures are a distinct pivot that gives Airdrop III its own unique flavour, while the signature LEA icy pads draw from the kind of stark synths rinsed out of Fruity Loops and Korg Tritons when grime was first finding its feet. The ghosts of MCs in full flow dart in and out of the mix, burrowed into the shadowy mix downs and teasing their bars like unfinished conversations. The minimalist arrangements have a Ghost-like pallor, all the better to savour the craftiness of the grooves. The scene-setting is as dramatic as the most evocative outliers in the dubstep canon, but it's matched by sublow's ruff and ready swagger and the nimble hooks of chart-ready garage crossovers. As ever, the concentrated spread of reference points is only half the story — Low End Activist fills in the gaps in his inimitable style. Like all the music he draws on, he's simply metabolising his own musical education and throwing down something new in the process.

You’d be forgiven for assuming Main Phase hails from the UK with a style and sound so intertwined with the sound of the British isles. The Copenhagen-born DJ and producer Main Phase is no newcomer to the bass scene however. The last couple of years have seen him quickly rise to being one of the people at the very top of the new wave of UK leaning music.

His contribution to the scene throughout the years, both as a DJ, producer, and co-owner of the independent label, ATW Records, with Interplanetary Criminal, has seen him play and tour some of the greatest parties and venus in the world. From Fabric in London, Boiler Room in Berlin to Lost Sundays in Sydney, he’s been making waves with his unique blend of old and new, UK garage, speed garage, dubstep and jungle – always with a big chunk of unreleased material from himself.

Main Phase has released full EPs and remixes on Hardline Sounds, Instinct, Locked On, ec2a and more – and he’s producing forward-thinking speed garage with Interplanetary Criminal as ATW and futuristic jungle with Lille Høg as First Touch. His work has gained credit from the likes of Ben UFO, Emerald, Pangaea and many more.

About the track / On the EP, Main Phase has said:

“This EP really encapsulates the sound of euro house and UK fused in one. Four big tunes for every hour of the night, there’s bumpy, suave, there’s organ, there’s swing and there’s peak time rave reminiscence across the EP. For club use only!"

One of the biggest, breakbeat channelling stompers out there, courtesy of the in-demand duo Borai and Denham Audio, finally gets an official release with three fiery remixes via Room Two Records. A track that’s ripped through airwaves and club dancefloors alike, ‘Make Me’ has all the hallmarks of a future classic. Doused in Amen breaks, rattling subs, rave stabs and an instantly recognizable mid ‘80s Donna Allen sample. Together the track feels like a long forgotten rave anthem from the ‘90s with its mix of high intensity breaks and soulful vocals.

With the original sample cleared, three producers step up to remix this undeniable anthem. First Sheffield’s Big Ang with her Rave To The Grave remix, playing homage to her hometown with a bassline and bleep flavoured rework. Mani Festo then hits hyperspace with his glitched out, jungle warper, before Paul Sirrell closes out proceedings serving up a huge slice of piano house heat

Burnski's agenda-setting garage label Instinct is back with killer new beats from Mance. 'Atmos101' gets things underway with sparking melodies zipping about the stereo field over chunky drums and with a filthy bassline. There is more of a throwback feel to the dusty drum loops of 'Stone Cold, Baby' complete with great vocal samples and spiralling pads. 'All Night' shows another look again with dry, stripped-back beats and big hits under warped synth stabs and more brain-melting bass. 'I Can't Help It' shuts down with silky pads work and soulful vocals.

South Coast artist Howman lands back on DNO Records for his second outing, ‘Trap Eastwood’. First introducing his heavyweight fusion of rock, hip-hop, dubstep and electronica via his outstanding 2023 debut, ‘Moon Operator’, the multi-instrumentalist and producer returns with a refined palette. Still bearing the first class musicality, rich layering and imaginative sonics that we’ve come to expect, the new EP is more stylistically focused than its predecessor. This time, Howman homes in on a spot somewhere in the 140/dubstep/trap sphere, decorating it with digital fizz, alien bleeps, snarling bass, and the signature gruff twang of guitar that makes his music feel deeply personal and eternally human.

The title track is perhaps the most prominent example of the latter, where Howman’s Western-esque riff conjures up the tension before a duel at high noon, while the bend and wobble of each string shapes the movement of the track like the curves of a rattlesnake.
But it’s a constant from the start, like on opener ‘Strip Search’, with its cinematic guitar intro, and combination of repetitive keys, earnest strings and bear-hug bass that nods to classic hip-hop.
Or closer ‘Fatigue’, where the layers of stuttering plucks, emotive melody and scratchy slide noises form a downtrodden soundscape plagued by police sirens and punctured by “Champion Sound” snippets.
On ‘Navigator’, Howman’s approach is more subtle: fluttering strums and a simple bassline creating a brooding, enigmatic vibe in stark contrast to the urgent, alarm-like stabs which first grip the attention.

Throughout there is an overriding sense of the unknown. ‘No Spring’ weaves drawn-out flute notes, tinkling percussion, super-massive 808 lows and spurts of breakbeat into a twisting, winding thing that wants to lure and enchant. While ‘Frosty’ is as ice cold as its name suggests, murderous bass meeting a spidery piano melody in dread-inducing matrimony — along with snatched words from some familiar faces outside a Berlin edition of THE MINE.

Produced between 2022 and 2025 across various locations, influenced by Howman having to move into more solo live performance (as opposed to his previous band setups), and miraculously surviving a catastrophic data loss incident, the EP is a snapshot of disruption focused into creative cohesion. We’ve been told, however, that it’s not a new direction or a sign of things to come, which only serves to make his next release that much more enticing, that much more of a mystery.

Rhythms of postmodern realism at the very bottom of the DNO.

The "The Return To Source EP" 12" by D-Dubz is released on Timehri and brings together three ultra-deep underground garage and breakbeat tracks that pay tribute to the original sound while reimagining it in a 2026 style. The short, concise running time focuses on dense grooves and clear structures that deliberately draw on early garage and breakbeat aesthetics while updating them at the same time.

As a new addition to the Timehri family, D-Dubz delivers a stripped-back statement with this EP: the tracks "Respect Da Crew," "Big Part A Dis," and "All Crew Dub" reveal a division of labor between driving breaks and dub-like echo textures that leave room for rhythmic subtleties. The arrangements remain compact and rely on a sparing use of effects, which keeps the tracks sharply defined.

The release positions itself both in the club context and within the realm of discerning collections by translating classic formal elements of the garage and breakbeat tradition into a contemporary production. With this 12", Timehri continues to expand its line of vinyl releases and offers a focused insight into D-Dubz’s approach.

It was surely a matter of time before Leicester natives, darlings of the UKG revival Y U QT graced Time Is Now with a release. Cooper and Darryl Reid have been repping the Midlands' oft-forgotten 2-step and bassline scene since being picked up by Riz La Teef's South London Press in 2019; since dropping two EPs on Warehouse Rave and getting picked up for a remix by Conducta's award-winning Kiwi Rekords. For Time Is Now, the duo have put together five tracks of dynamic, cheeky garage that takes influence from the full breadth of the genre.

In 2015 when potential remixes of Bipp were first floated the unequivocal response from Sophie was “No remixes..” a long pause followed “..unless it’s Autechre”. We asked, and five years later an email from Autechre arrived “sorry this is so late, hope it's still of some use”. An Autechre live show recording from a Numbers show in 2005 had first inspired Sophie to source the equipment used to craft new music including Bipp, Lemonade & more. The Bipp Autechre mx is 3 minutes 33 seconds long, stripped back and loose. Sounding like Autechre paying tribute to some serious late 80’s influences. The duo's interpretation channels an imagined transition point between NY electro and UK street soul, that pitched down Sophie vocal reconfigured into a wanna-be Latin Freestyle Natasha King, jiving over a deep slice of Tr-606 funk technology.

The “Hexacorallia” 12" by Ma Sha has been released on Nerve Collect. The record brings together six driving tracks that oscillate between punishing club energy and intricate, futuristic rhythmic patterns; the release page lists titles like “Total Energy,” “Salpa,” “Spinmachine,” “Gillz,” as well as the joint track “Shots” with Hodge.

On this release, Ma Sha pushes the boundaries of tempo and percussion: sketch-like, interlocked drum patterns collide with dense bass layers and otherworldly synth fragments that make the material feel both mechanical and organic. The production remains sharply defined, creating moments of rough immediacy as well as warped, psychedelic passages that spur on the dance floor crowd.

Behind the project is the New York–rooted producer and DJ, known from the event and label context around Kindergarten and already featured on renowned international imprints such as Rhythm Section; this practice is reflected in the versatile, cosmopolitan approach of the tracks. The songs on “Hexacorallia” were written and produced by Ma Sha, with mastering handled by Maspaventi Studio and visual design by Nina van den Berg.

The "Brs 2 Ams" 12" by Dr Dubplate & Luis Ripa was released on Dr Dubplate. This limited 12" brings together four distinctive club tracks that fuse the production and DJ experience of both artists and aim squarely at the dance floor.

Musically, the record combines basement tech house pressure with a tangible UK garage influence: skipping drum patterns, deep, focused sub‑bass and a pronounced late‑night swing define the sound. The record features the tracks "BAD2DABONE," "Dubplate Ripa," "Fish N' Chicks" and "Transmission Controlla," whose structures work as precisely crafted tools for DJ sets and provide variety through shifting tempos and rhythmic accents.

The collaboration between Dr Dubplate, the Bristol‑born label owner and DJ, and Luis Ripa brings the dubplate aesthetic into a contemporary club context: raw energy and clean production stand side by side on equal footing. Striking here are the clear arrangements and the emphasis on groove and space, which allow the tracks to have impact both on bass‑oriented sound systems and in more intimate club environments.

Overall, "Brs 2 Ams" shows a consistent focus on dancefloor‑effective instrumentals that precisely capture the characteristic style of the producers involved.

Released as a 12" on Next-Gen Hardcore, Next-Gen Hardcore 3 showcases the next level of creativity from various artists while, for the most part, staying true to their signature styles. The compilation brings together representatives of a modern hardcore scene that fuses classic gabber and hardcore impulses with contemporary production aesthetics, keeping a clear focus on rhythm, tempo, and sound design. Hallmarks include powerful, often distorted kick drums, prominent basslines, and aggressive synth stabs, contrasted with breakbeat elements and carefully placed vocal samples.

The record emphasizes direct, club-ready arrangements; short, punchy tracks alternate with longer, more slowly building cuts in which layering and dynamic mastering techniques come to the fore. Different artists reveal different approaches to the same basic sound: some rely on sheer directness and raw energy, while others work in more detail with effects, tempo shifts, and post-industrial textures.

Next-Gen Hardcore as a label functions here as a platform for up-and-coming producers, channeling the genre’s stylistic range into a physical 12" designed both for club use and as a documentary snapshot of a current scene.

The "Dimensions EP" by Silas is available as a 12-inch and continues the producer’s close relationship with the Sneaker Social Club label. Following his full debut on Sneaker in 2024, the Oxford-born artist returns with new variations on grime that further develop his characteristic approach to tempo and atmosphere.

Musically, the EP moves between tight, jittery arrangements and retro-futurist soundscapes. The A-side opens with the title track "Dimensions," built from razor-sharp string stabs and skewed, cubist drums; "Vapour" and "Entangle" pursue a sci-fi-inflected aesthetic with distant pads and driving rhythmic sculptures, while "Stateless" echoes the gently otherworldly trance tracks of the ’90s. This clear stylistic through-line makes the release both dancefloor-focused and engaging for concentrated listening.

Silas stays true to his roots in UK club culture, linking classic grime elements with modern production approaches that emphasize precision and space. The "Dimensions EP" presents him as a producer who uses sparse means to sketch a dense, atmospheric picture, underscoring Sneaker Social Club’s programmatic orientation within the contemporary bass and grime cosmos.

"Javano returns with Juncture, a bold and electrifying new album set for release on 3rd July via Peer Pressure Records. Marking a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution, Juncture captures the raw energy and forward-thinking vision that has been steadily building around his name. This latest project is more than just a collection of tracks—it’s a statement of intent, a sonic crossroads where underground influences collide and reshape into something distinctly his own. Designed to hit just as hard in late-night club settings as it does through headphones, the album reflects both precision craftsmanship and a fearless approach to sound design.

At its core, Juncture is an energetic fusion of electronic music styles, seamlessly weaving together elements of drum and bass, UK garage, dub, and techno. Javano demonstrates an instinctive understanding of rhythm and space, moving effortlessly between high-tempo breaks, deep sub-heavy grooves, and textured atmospheric layers. The album pulses with momentum, balancing gritty basslines and sharp percussion with moments of introspection and tension. Each track feels purposeful, contributing to an overarching journey that is both dynamic and cohesive. Fans of cutting-edge club music will recognize familiar influences, but Juncture never settles into predictability—instead, it continuously pushes forward, exploring new sonic territories while maintaining an undeniable dancefloor appeal.

With Juncture, Javano solidifies his position as a rising force within the electronic music landscape. Returning to release on Peer Pressure Records signals a strong alignment with a label known for championing innovative and boundary-pushing artists, further amplifying the album’s impact. Whether experienced in a packed venue or through headphones, Juncture delivers a powerful, immersive listening experience that resonates long after the final track fades. This is an album built for movement, for connection, and for those moments when music takes full control. "

Ruff Kutz presents 'Found Sound', a debut solo album by Pugilist.

At a time where art has become readily reproduced and seemingly disposable, I have made something longer-form to be enjoyed as a complete piece, rather than it's single elements.

Found Sound delves into my internal monologue, which I hope results in a personal and introspective listening experience. Building on my previous discography - you can expect versatile sounds and tempos, with a washy dub-wise feel, intoxicating atmospherics, all in a genre-free structure. The album is floaty, euphoric and perhaps a surprisingly light listen compared to my normal output, but with notably huge bass and intricate percussion throughout.

The album taps into nostalgic reference points without leaning on retrograde tropes. While sculpted by contemporary production and FX, the sound remains raw and not overly polished. The album is best described as a collage of sounds that I have steadily collected over the last decade, which have inspired me, some very cheeky sampling and many a late night working on my studio tan. It is a tribute to the music I grew up with and love the most, from past to the present. It is fitting that this release marks the 10 years since I started the Pugilist alias.

This wouldn't have been possible without Umeya, who the album is dedicated to.

London's PRESTi lands on Shall Not Fade's Time is Now imprint with four dancefloor weapons that feel like they forked from the hardcore continuum at the point El-B, Horsepower and Artwork's dark garage was becoming proto dubstep.

EP title Track 'As We Move' is everything that is special about that time; bassweight, space and rudeboy swing. On "Big Ting" PRESTi reaches for more classic UKG groove but fuses it with yet more spacious wobbling low end precision. "Baile Pulse" pivots... channeling in grimey pulse basslines and 4/4 baile funk techno this time. "Get Back" is just the fait accompli for a producer clearly enjoying such fertile ground, a peak time speed garage warper ready to cause damage at any function.

Essential dancefloor gear from a producer growing tall and widening the cracks.

Limited to 300 hand-numbered copies (200 black, 100 red), this first edition captures a timeless club essence - from punchy grooves to late-night introspection.

Deeleegenz opens the record with “M.W.H.I.”, a fierce and energetic cut packed with garage swing and raw punch - the perfect statement for the series debut. On A2, Mike Ekim delivers “The Main Street”, a UK garage-driven banger built around crisp drums and rolling low-end pressure.

On the flip, Reagan Mian’s “Memories” dives deep into emotional territory - a nostalgic deep house journey that blends warmth, groove, and a pure club spirit. Rawdio follows with “Mirari”, weaving hypnotic synths and lush pads into a dreamy early-90s atmosphere. Finally, Max Telaer closes the record with "Fair Weather", a jazzy, sample-rich groove that radiates soul and wraps the compilation with finesse.

With striking artwork by Sozyone, Club Cuts Vol.1 stands as both a collector’s piece and a dancefloor weapon - crafted for DJs, diggers, and anyone who still believes in the magic of wax.

Music never exists in a vacuum — every scene and sound evolves from the non-stop exchange of ideas between different groups and cultures. Traditions get passed down from one generation to the next, and then individual heads take influence from their own unique perspective. Sometimes, certain people strike upon fusions that spark massive new movements, but even those rarest innovations came from somewhere.

Jon E Cash knows this more than most — the legendary beats he started putting out at the turn of the millennium had their own disparate roots and influences which he had the motivation to put together into a sound he called sublow. There wasn't any other reference point for this music — when he took the first white labels of 'Drop Top Bimmer Kid' into Blackmarket Records in Soho, London, he had to describe it to a puzzled Nicky Blackmarket and J Da Flex as being, "between garage and hip-hop."

Playing catch-up in 2004, Rephlex Records nodded to sublow when trying to introduce a wider audience to the sounds which had been tearing up the London underground. "Grime. Sublow. Dubstep... It's Music. Different people call it different things depending on when they discovered it." But Jon E Cash's sound was rooted in more than the UK garage that had dominated the clubs through the late 90s, reaching way back to his pre-teen days when the first waves of hip-hop culture crossed the Atlantic and broke in the UK.

25 years on, it's a fine time to reflect on the impact of the music Cash made at the turn of the millennium. History looks back favourably on what he and the Black Ops crew were doing with sublow in the early 00s. The timing meant it ran in parallel with what was happening over East with Pay As U Go, Roll Deep et al, and of course there was crossover. Every DJ and every MC was on the hunt for the best beats they could find. But there's a whole different swagger to sublow — a different web of influences, a different intention and so a different outcome. It's still there in the beats Cash is making more than 20 years later — his 3dom Music label is carrying upfront productions with that sublow DNA coursing through their veins. Whatever the beat or the tempo, the drums are still hard as nails, and the bass is tuned for maximum rave damage.

Firing remix package of cuts from two legendary album's from Brazil's Orquestra Afro-Brasileira. Feat

Two albums - Obaluayê (1957) and Orquestra Afro-Brasileira (1968) - were enough for Orquestra Afro-Brasileira to mark its history in music forever. Born in 1942 in Rio de Janeiro by its founder Abigail Moura, it remained active until 1970 and, in 2021, was revived by the only living member of the original line-up at the time, Carlos Negreiros, when the third and final album in the orchestra's career, entitled 80 years, was released by Amor in Sound/Night Dreamer. Today (31) the album gets its remix version with tracks signed by names of the caliber of Marcelo D2, Criolo, Pupillo, Emicida, Rael, Cut Chemist, Mexican Institute of Sound, among others.

Aiming to keep the legacy of the Orquestra Afro-Brasileira alive, the album 80 Anos (Remixes) reaffirms the group's relevance as a creative source for different generations of musicians and listeners, based on new interpretations produced by artists who are also fans of the orchestra. According to Mario Caldato Jr., the album's musical director, "it was a great joy when I got to know the work of the Afro-Brazilian Orchestra and, soon after, had the honor of meeting and working with Carlos Negreiros. Producing 80 Anos alongside him was a gift and being able to look back on it, having the remix album to celebrate this legacy, is really wonderful."

For Amor in Sound - Mario and Samantha Caldato's record label - this release faithfully represents their values: Respect for memory, diversity, friendship and the possibility of creating new worlds. Made in a totally collaborative way, the album is born as a historical record, interpreted by great names in current music and, above all, great friends. “Being able to do this is indescribable, the value of relationships makes up and continues the legacy of the Orquestra Afro Brasileira,” says Samantha.

fabric bring together Pangaea and Leonce for a pair of UKG influenced / US club tracks.

“With both of us playing each other’s tracks, it felt natural to collaborate in the studio on original music. Both ‘Dusted’ and ‘Stuck’ bridge the UK and US scenes, and are the result of multiple studio sessions in London when Leonce was touring in Europe” ~ Pangaea.

‘Dusted’ is UKG influenced with out-of-this-world textures, fast paced drums, expertly-chopped vocals that build on the styles Pangaea and Leonce are known for whilst 'Stuck' takes a more restrained approach, taking influence from classic 90s US club tracks.

Pangaea co-runs cult UK label Hessle Audio, widely regarded as one of the finest electronic music producers of a generation whilst Leonce has been honing his US underground Club styles with the RA Recommends critically acclaimed 2024 album, System Of Objects.

Layers of fog, hazy synths, solid percussion, and liquid basslines – Esaïa's debut album Mindscapes invites listeners into a dreamlike soundscape. A sonic experience where Berlin’s Berghain meets the vibrant streets of Kingston, Jamaica.

With its cinematic chiaroscuro lined with sub-bass, the album blurs the boundaries between genres. Inspired by the pioneers of dub, Esaïa seamlessly blends hybridisation and experimentation, pushing musical limits to carve out her own sonic space.

An album designed for both the dance floor and introspective listening, 4-to-the-floor techno-driven beats fuse with blissful instrumental flows. Paired with Madame Ipsum’s luminescent visuals, Esaïa’s work creates a multi-sensory experience that sparks the synapses.

Is anyone in France keyed into the sound of UK funky as sharply as Kaval? Sneaker sets out a strong case with this four-tracker of cool and deadly shufflers which take that insistent groove and give it a different lick.

Kaval has got plenty going on in Toulouse, where he’s riding the online airwaves with the Egregore Collective and got his name all over the Riddim Supplies series 12”s. Those with their sticky fingers on all the best bits of wax the past few years might have stumbled across those records in the racks. Elsewhere, he’s also locked in with the Ruff Club crew who are bringing the DIY free party vibe to Toulouse under railway lines, in abandoned buildings and anywhere they can sneak a genny, a system, some lights and a vibe. All this is to say Kaval is the real deal, doing things the proper way, and it shows in his tunes.

The cuts on this record are absolutely built for the dance, functional like a DJ record should be but not at the expense of the flair. ‘Combo II’ has fun slipping snatches of MCs around utopian synth licks, while ‘Pistolaser’ is spilling over with crafty micro edits and snappy samples that bring the limber groove to life. The crooked beat and rounded square wave bass is a given, and Kaval wields the rhythm section with poise, but it’s the playful energy he brings to the top end which really lifts his gear. It’s no wonder his tracks have been bumped by the likes of Nick Léon, perfectly bridging the gap from funky into the deft Latin-tinged zones explored by the Miami heavyweight.

It’s records like this that prove exploration of UK funky, like so many club genres, has so much more to give to the dance.

No one can doubt that Lightnin' Hopkins is the king of Texas country blues. P-vine is reissuing on LP for the first time in 35 years the classic album, which was originally released on Crown in 1961 and is a compilation of Modern/Kent recordings from 1950-51, one of the pinnacles of the Lonesome & Dirty Blues world. With its deep, withering vocals, which sometimes sounded even terrific, and a guitar that moved nimbly and uninhibitedly, this is one of Lightnin's top-class recordings in his storytelling style. No one can escape the devilish charm of these dense blues.

Bax is back. First released in 2011, Mosca’s UKG homage, ‘Bax’, did big things when it landed. Almost 10 years on, it’s time for a repress.

Though Mosca missed the golden era of garage in the nineties, he caught on to darkside pioneers such as Horsepower Productions, Benny Ill and El-B later on. A blend of homegrown British styles lies at the core of his electronic music influences, early dubstep, jungle, minimal grime and bassline, which he’d experienced first-hand at Sheffield’s legendary Niche club. (Little known fact: The name Bax is a partial nod to Steve Baxendale, the man behind Niche).

All these elements coalesced in the studio and the two-tracker materialised in a couple of days. Both sides of the record do their thing on the floor; ‘Bax’ with its now infamous ‘My DJ is live in the place’ sample, that earworm melody and a ruffneck b-line.

On the flip ‘Done Me Wrong’ sees Mosca incorporate several key garage tropes; the bassline swinging alongside soulful vocals (which get sliced and diced), not forgetting that cheeky rewind.

My DJ is back in the place...

‘Apathy Is Death’ is a precisely engineered, restless and longing work of experimental bass music. Tinkah has created a sonic landscape that is both mesmerising and haunting. The fundamental note is tension as he speaks a tale of ego and its myriad manifestations.. highs & lows. Climax & anticlimax. Adoration & pity. A 12” quest through the taverns of retrospect. The 6 tracks, live arranged on a MPC alongside a whimsical bounty of synths & effects, are packed rich with cinematic soundscapes, driving rhythms and an ever evolving temper. Inspired by true events and adorned with sounds from his world. ‘Apathy Is Death’ tells the parable of being jointly lost and found in the intensity of life.

Moroccan-born producer Reda Senhaji, better known under the name Cheb Runner, presents 80K, the second installment in Beat Machine’s Terra Tempo series. A direct tribute to the cultural heritage of the Souss Massa Darâa region, the release reactivates ancestral rhythms and translates them into a forward-looking electronic language rooted in place, memory, and physical sound.

Drawing from traditions such as Ahwach, Gnawa, and other interconnected practices from the Souss region, the EP preserves original rhythmic skeletons while reimagining them through modern production and club-oriented structures.

Across six tracks, traditional instruments and electronic elements collide fluently, where the 808 functions as a structural force rather than an accent. From the rolling pulse of Iznagn Engines and the evocative contours of Azn Oudrar to the spiritual resonance of Gn-Awa, the B-side expands the journey with the sub-heavy Afouss Adar 808, the atmospheric Tarwan Ganga, and a reinterpreted Gn-Awa by Guedra Guedra, layered with intricate textures and low-end pressure.

Moving between bass, world, and electronic territories, 80K reflects a deliberate balance between preservation and transformation. Music that carries ancestral rhythms into new listening spaces, bridging generations, cultures, and sonic worlds within a single, cohesive experience.

With the 12" release "Los Angeles" on Nuts World Tour, Nuts showcases the next level of his creativity while, overall, staying true to his style. The four tracks on this record take you straight under the California sun, linking the golden era of the West Coast sound with contemporary production. G-funk influences shape the arrangements: smooth synth leads, deeply rooted basslines, and laid-back, rolling grooves evoke palm trees, sunsets, and late-night cruising routes. Nuts uses these sonic hallmarks to sketch a specific mood that is both a nod to the genre and an evolution of it. Finely balanced from a technical standpoint, the tracks remain airy yet warm, with compositions that leave room for melodies and subtle details. The record explicitly taps into lowrider aesthetics, relying on a mix of nostalgia and modern sound design that translates the characteristic Los Angeles vibe into a compact, carefully produced format.

Released on Lapsus / Local Action, Eden Samara’s LP “Odyssey” casts the artist’s second album into an expanded, ensemble-like sound world. The work brings together elements such as jungle-inflected rhythms, choral vocals, and live harp, tying them to tight, focused songwriting; in terms of subject matter, it translates archetypal narrative patterns into a personal exploration of loss, dependency, and codependency.

Eden Samara grew up in the mountains of western Canada, writing folk songs and performing on stage from an early age, before a trip to Europe and life in London from 2019 onward began to shape her musical trajectory. Following her debut “Rough Night” on Local Action, created with TSVI, Call Super, and Shanti Celeste and highlighted in Dazed and Mixmag, she continues to expand her approach. Collaborations with Parris, Ciel, and Loraine James, as well as coverage in The Guardian, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Crack, and DJ Mag, have accompanied her development.

Musically, “Odyssey” combines electronic pop structures with R&B hues, orchestral textures, and dark literary references to Homer, The Alchemist, and The Picture of Dorian Gray. All tracks were written and produced by Eden Samara; additional production was contributed by Loraine James, Tim Reaper, TSVI, Ryan Pierre, Comfort Zone, Dan O., Ryan Cover, and Lighght. Harp is performed by Marysia Osu, drums and additional guitar are by Fyn Dobson, and the opening track “Voyage” draws on a poem by Rabindranath Tagore.

The Craft Music label is back after a one year break with some fresh new cuts by resident Marco Lazovic. It's an EP inspired by the sound of the English club scene in the nineties and noughties, labels like Good Looking Records and artists such as Mike Millrain. Opener 'Losin Control' sure is a compelling mix of electro and breaks that soars on cosmic lines with euphoric vocals in the distance. 'Come To London' has a distinctly garage feel to it with its crisp broken beats and there is more high energy but melody-rich breakbeat action in 'Dark Gravity' while 'Space Jazzy' is s super sweet and deep jungle cruiser.
