The “Cenário” LP by FloFilz is being released on Melting Pot Music as a 10th anniversary edition and comes with a newly designed gatefold sleeve plus an expanded 16-page photo booklet featuring images by Robert Winter. Originally released in 2016, the album is regarded as a key work of the European beat scene and cemented FloFilz’s status as one of the most influential producers of his generation in the field of jazz-influenced hip-hop and soul music. On this reissue, the classics are presented in newly remastered form: with “Dulce,” “Cenário” includes the artist’s most commercially successful track, which has now surpassed 40 million streams; alongside it, “Taxi Bossa” and the two cuts with jazz vocalist Olivia Wendlandt (“Intro Azul” and “Nuvem”) particularly stand out. Over the past two decades, Berlin-based producer Hulk Hodn has quietly cemented himself as a cornerstone of the European beatmaking community. Across a staggering run of a dozen collaborative albums, the duo became the gold standard for independent, sample-heavy hip-hop and German rap. Now, Sichtexot Records is proud to announce his latest full-length album, a project that honors those deep boom-bap roots while pushing his sound into expansive new territories.

Stepping away from the traditional, isolated beatmaker paradigm, the new LP is the culmination of Zahlbach Publishing songwriting camps held in Limoux, France, throughout 2023 and 2024. Hulk Hodn has crafted what is arguably his most versatile and creative project to date. The record moves between raw, foundational hip-hop, warm neo-soul, wonky instrumental beats, and progressive rap.

To bring this vision to life, Hodn assembled a striking cast of collaborators. FloFilz’s new album Hagaki is a musical love letter to Japan—a sonic travel log that blends jazz and beats with Japanese music and culture. Recorded in both Berlin and Tokyo, FloFilz invited fellow musicians, beatmakers, and singers such as Takuya Kuroda, Nao Yoshioka, Toshiki Soejima, Budamunk, and Matt Wilde to join him on his journey. Acclaimed music and travel photographer Robert Winter was responsible for the outstanding visuals that accompany the album.

In 2014, FloFilz and Melting Pot Music launched an album series that explores the culture, vibe, and landscape of cities he loves—both musically and visually. The visual side is handled by Robert Winter, a well-known music and travel photographer immersed in Germany’s hip-hop and beat producer scene. For the first album, Metronom, FloFilz, Robert Winter, and Melting Pot Music founder Olski traveled to Paris. For Cenário (2016) and Transit (2019), they visited Lisbon and London. Each album is released as a high-quality gatefold edition and includes a 20-page photo book.

For Hagaki, the fourth volume in the series, FloFilz traveled to Japan, where he spent a full month working on music and visuals. Hagaki means "postcard" in Japanese. The album is a multidisciplinary love letter and a dialogue with Japanese culture and music. FloFilz had visited Japan several times before—playing shows in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto; enjoying some of the best food he’d ever had; and discovering rare records in meticulously curated record stores. He also ventured beyond the big cities, hiking through mountains, forests, and along coastlines. These experiences deepened his appreciation for how Japanese culture emphasizes harmony with nature. The attention to detail and sincerity found in Japanese art and craftsmanship are qualities that also define FloFilz's approach to music-making.

Hagaki is dedicated to Tokyo, the Japanese capital and the most populous city in the world, with over 37 million residents. FloFilz, Robert Winter, and Olski immersed themselves in the city and its culture. They visited jazz joints, ramen shops, record stores, tea houses, temples—and even more record stores. They attended performances by local jazz artists like Uyama Hiroto and Manchester’s own Matthew Halsall at the iconic Blue Note club. FloFilz performed at the Jazzy Sport x Roland Anniversary Party and was invited by Ella Records for a DJ set and an in-depth video interview about record culture and digging.

The “Dig, Sample, Chop, Sequence” LP by J. Rawls is released on Polar Entertainment and marks a new instrumental project from the producer. The full-length continues Rawls’s characteristic blend of hip hop grooves and jazzy textures; after recent releases on Javotti like “The Confidence of Knowing” featuring Talib Kweli, “Midnight Angel” with Solene Velvet, and “The Optimist’s Son” with Niko IS, he returns to his roots. The album is conceived as an ode to the craft of production itself: digging, sampling, chopping, and sequencing are at the center of every composition.

As a professor of Hip Hop Studies at Ohio State University, Rawls reflects on “Dig, Sample, Chop, Sequence” about the emotional drive behind digging through record crates and the decision to sample certain sounds. While the tracks are often labeled as lo-fi, Rawls puts it simply: “We just call it Hip Hop.” The arrangements lean on stripped-down, sometimes warm loops and targeted drum work that leave plenty of space for subtle details.

The album is additionally framed by interludes from the last recorded conversation with Rawls’s longtime friend DJ Buka; the voices and anecdotes form narrative bridges between tracks and trace the parallel paths of two lives shaped by hip hop. With this LP, Polar Entertainment presents a deeply personal instrumental work by J. Rawls.

The “On Patrol” LP by Odd Nosdam is released on Alien Transistor and continues the collaboration that began with the 2019 album “Mirrors”; the release was deliberately conceived as a single LP, with running time, vinyl mastering (Jessica Thompson), and lacquer cutting at Dubplates & Mastering in Berlin all explicitly tailored to this format.

Musically, “On Patrol” remains firmly rooted in Odd Nosdam’s working methods: the album is built predominantly from found sounds, many samples sourced from obscure second-hand vinyl digs, complemented by field recordings from Salvador Dalí’s summer house in Catalonia (2022) and a prominent bass by Mike Walti, which gives “Deepsimple” an endless lane to cruise in. Tracks like “Sgt. Pepsi” and “Get You In (Belong Mix)” showcase Nosdam’s balance between sluggish grooves, shimmering strings, and shoegaze-like guitar washes; fragile vocal fragments allude to themes of belonging and outsiderness, while the brevity of some arrangements intensifies their hypnotic effect. The production leans deliberately on analog means — a Roland Space Echo, bounce passes between hard drive and cassette 8-track — as a conscious continuation of a working method Nosdam has pursued since cLOUDDEAD and various remix commissions.

First Word Records proudly present the second single from Above The Clouds (aka kidkanevil & Magic Manfred), taking on another underground hip hop classic, 'Change'.

'Change' was originally performed by Shadez of Brooklyn, produced by Da Beatminerz and most notably appeared on DJ Premier's legendary 'New York Reality Check 101' mix compilation back in 1997.

This 7" vinyl release follows on from last Summer's MF Doom cover 'Arrow Root', which received strong support from the likes of Japan's DJ Koco and Philadelphia's DJ Jazzy Jeff.

This new instrumental reinterpretation also features cuts by Leicester-based turntablist, Jon1st - a DMC World Online Champion, as well as being a producer & musician in his own right, collaborating on music with a number of hip hop, D&B and electronic artists.

One of the original First Word roster, UK Producer/DJ and all-round laptop music geek kidkanevil has developed a distinctive and progressive sound over the years, gleefully exploring the beats and bleeps of the electronic music universe to international recognition. Leeds born, sound system bred and raised on a (un)healthy diet of video games and anime, his solo work inhabits the curious space between bass frequencies and otaku culture. But as a devoted teenage backpack rap nerd, somewhere in the back of kid's mind was a lingering desire to reconnect with his first love, hip hop.

Not long after moving to Berlin he joined a studio space in graffiti plastered Kreuzberg, where he met multi instrumentalist wizard Magic Manfred; a disciple of all things boogie, disco, funk and soul. Born and raised in Berlin, and currently a touring musician for many an act, Manfred's musical map joins the dots from piano lessons at four, to starting a band with his teenage friends, leading him to his true calling - the bass - via the club vibrations of his hometown, which introduced him to the world of DJing and production, and a stint studying in the explosive London jazz scene to finalise his Jedi training.

Bonding over their mutual love of '90s hip hop, a friendship and musical kinship developed, coupled with a desire to honour past eras but push things forward, Above The Clouds was born; named after their joint favourite DJ Premier beat, with a touch of irony regarding their basement based studio of a windowless variety.

kidkanevil explains further "We started the project with a few covers, just as a way to get warmed up and in a certain creative headspace, of which 'Change' by Shadez Of Brooklyn was one. We both loved DJ Premier's 'New York Reality Check 101' mix when we were teenagers and this track was a favourite. The elements really lent themselves to live interpretation, and as an instrumental there was space to bring some nice movement with the bass and stuff. Hopefully we found the balance between paying tribute and finding our own pocket. For the final seasoning we hit up the homie and turntable wizard Jon1st to recreate the cuts, of which he did an immaculate job of course.

The b-side 'Urgh' is one of our favourite beats we've made so far; the title is just how it makes us feel! We actually recorded the piano with two iphones as left and right and it sounded kinda cool so we went with it..."

Released on Inner Ocean, the LP "Through The Glass, Dimly" gathers compact, melodic jazz pieces that move stylistically between jazz, pop jazz, and soul jazz, consciously harking back to the concise arrangements of the 1960s. The release comes as a limited 180 g Pink Glass pressing with a printed inner sleeve and a hand-numbered edition, underscoring the song-oriented, short-form conception of the tracks.

For this program, Zac Colwell draws on personal memories from his youth in Austin; the track titles refer directly to places from his hometown, turning the album into a small-scale autobiography of his early teenage years. The compositions are built around simple, clear melodies, yet they also carry subtle harmonic and rhythmic shadings that reflect Colwell’s background as a multi-instrumentalist and producer. His engagement with records from his father’s collection — from Eddie Harris to Stan Getz — is clearly audible and forms the narrative center of the album.

All pieces were written and performed by Zac Colwell; Dave Heilman contributes drums on four tracks, and David Feddock plays guitar on "Canyon Lake." The "Hibiki Lp" LP by Nickelman & Keta Ra is released on Deepconstruction and focuses on a slow, atmospheric sonic world. The record brings together eight tracks that combine a warm, lo-fi analog texture with elements of ambient, downbeat, electronica, dub, and drone. Rhythmically, a variety of drum sequences provides a subtle yet defining structure.

Nickelman is responsible for the beats and editing; Keta Ra contributes guitar, bass, keys, kalimba, percussion, handpan, and synthesizers. Live-recorded phrases by Keta Ra were sampled and rearranged by Nickelman on the MPC2000XL, joined by field recordings from the mountains and coastal regions of Japan that run through the tracks like natural interludes. The result is a sonic image that links organic performance styles with electronic collage techniques.

The artwork was created by Nickelman under the name 55555, who transformed Keta Ra’s photos into collages and drawings that provide the conceptual framework for the music. Following their collaborative work on "Akasha," this release builds on familiar approaches from both artists without forgoing new textures and finely crafted arrangements. The "Hibiki Lp" offers a focused, richly detailed listening experience for listeners who appreciate calm, textured beats and ambient soundscapes.

The twelve pieces collected on “The Flesher” originate from archival finds drawn from a quarter-century of creative work and are being released on LP by Pace Yourself. The compilation is based on material Jesse Rae originally composed as a film score for the feature of the same name; the recordings range from instrumental soundscapes to song-oriented tracks and were reconstructed from the surviving tapes.

Stylistically, the work spans a wide arc: G-funk elements and hip-hop references meet hints of house, synth pop, and electro, joined by dub, downtempo, and funk/soul phrases as well as R&B subtleties. Characteristic of Jesse Rae is the fusion of transatlantic funk tradition with experimental studio techniques, resulting in dense, often enigmatic arrangements. The contributors include longtime companions and studio heavyweights such as Bernie Worrell, Adrian Sherwood, and Jimmy Douglass, whose presence lends the body of work additional textural depth.

The release also sketches a biography of the artist: Rae, who filmed under the pseudonym Jock Pleasure and documented the story of his confrontations with financial institutions, left this material behind as a personal, partly lost oeuvre. “The Flesher” lays these rediscovered fragments bare—everyday scenes, nocturnal boulevards, blurred erotica, and quiet moments of solace—and in doing so presents a scarcely known side of his work.

The album *Feelin’* by New York jazz pianist and singer Jenna Camille and Hamburg producer High John will be released on June 26, 2026 on the Wiesbaden-based label Besser-Samstag as a limited-edition vinyl release.
Created between 2021 and 2025 in various studios in New York and Hamburg, the album grew out of a long-term collaboration that developed into a friendship and gave the songs a special depth and intimacy. In her tracks “Round n Round,” “Back it up,” “Empty Words,” “Let go,” and “Not the One,” the openly queer poet addresses the disappointments of past relationships, toxic love spirals, and the painful process of working through them—inviting female listeners to share in this reflection and grow from it.

At the same time, she sings tenderly about love, speaks openly about sex, and dedicates the songs “Bind,” “I can’t get over you,” as well as the Janet Jackson cover “Any Time Any Place,” to her fiancée Hope, who works as a therapist.

All in all, *Feelin’* is a sensual and introspective album that runs counter to today’s fast-paced spirit of the times. This slow-burner invites listeners to take time for themselves, to feel consciously, and to heal.

Komorebi brings together an exceptional group of artists, including his frequent collaborator, UK producer edbl, legendary Japanese trumpeter Takuya Kuroda (worked with Jose James), and the piano phenoms - Mad Keys from the US, Chill The World from Seoul, and London’s own Matt Wilde. The album also holds a surprise for Toshiki Soejima’s long-term fans - two vocal songs from the Indian singer Temsu Clover & the UK’s finest, Carrie Baxter.

Visually and conceptually, Komorebi is deeply connected to Toshiki’s previous album Kimama Beats, created with his wife Nahokimama. Both projects are being pressed on vinyl, designed to sit side by side - completing one another as companion pieces. Where Kimama Beats bloomed with Nahokimama’s silhouette and floral imagery, Komorebi mirrors that visual language with Toshiki’s own form, continuing the motif of flowers, light, and natural cycles. Together, they represent two perspectives within the same world – spontaneity and reflection.

The "Echoes Of The Emerald Sands Colored Vinyl Edition" by Monster Rally brings together the latest full-length album by producer Ted Feighan, his first project conceived as a vocal-driven work, featuring guest appearances from LEISURE, TV Girl, Sessa, Jordana, Mei Semones, Henry Mancini, and other artists. Released on Flowering Jungle, the album marks a departure from his earlier, sample-based instrumental projects toward fully composed songs with vocal features.

Musically, the record moves between exotica, tropical pop aesthetics, lo-fi inflections, and hip-hop rhythms; shimmering guitars, Mellotron textures, and Latin American hand percussion give many tracks an organic warmth. Feighan’s production remains rich in detail: vintage instruments and dense arrangements are paired with clear song structures, while the guests’ vocals lend each track a fresh perspective.

The colored vinyl edition has been released as a limited run; the so-called “Sandy Emerald” variant is limited to 300 copies and was offered through the Monster Rally shop and Bandcamp. Maciej returns with the album after a somewhat lengthy break, but he does it with a bang. This kind of hip-hop with soul elements has been unheard of in Polish music for a long time. This is the first Polish full-length tribute to Dilla. The guests are few, but they are impressive. Emade himself plays drums on two tracks, and Immortal Onion reworked one of James's iconic recordings.

The LP *The Best Head In Showbiz* is a split release by Corradini / Frank on Mixto and brings together a joint statement from two unusual personalities of contemporary psychedelia. The recordings grew out of improvised studio sessions which, thanks to a generous timeframe, evolved into a complete album; the compositions are marked by expansive, orchestral soundscapes that intertwine influences from world music with subtle nods to John Cale, Vangelis, and filmic sound design.

Musically, the work moves between instrumental passages and vocal tracks, with sophisticated arrangements and warm analog tones setting the tone. Thomas E. Frank, known as a “psychedelic grandfather” through Den Stora Vilan and currently active with Hollow Ship, handled mixing and arrangements at his Ljudvalvet studio, shaping the organically dynamic overall sound. Pierre Corradini, as a multi‑instrumentalist and songwriter, contributes a rich biography: from pub rock to a formative decade in a rural Swedish commune—experiences that lend the music substance and narrative depth.

The result is an album that feels timeless without retracing familiar paths: a carefully balanced fusion of psychedelic exploration, melodic finesse, and cinematic breadth that audibly brings together the individual backgrounds of both protagonists.
