Nujabes, who passed away in a car accident in Feb 2010, mainly released vinyl singles. This 'Metaphorical Music' was his first album in which he put much effort to complete. Up until now, it has been a beloved masterpiece and also a core of Nujabes and Hydeout Productions. It includes 'Letter From Yokosuka' the first produced song by Uyama Hiroto, who had been working with Nujabes and his best friend. 'F.I.L.O' was born from a golden collaboration with rapper Shing02 who was featured on the classic hip hop masterpiece 'Luv (sic).' 'A Day By Atmosphere Supreme' is a heart-warming instrumental tune recently covered by Emancipator on his tribute album 'Modal Soul Classics II.' Nujabes' remix version of 'Latitude' features hip hop group Five Deez, from Cincinnati, who had been a professional and personal friend of Nujabes. 'Blessing It (Remix)' features MC Substantial & Pase Rock who had established the foundations of Hydeout with Nujabes. 'Lady Brown' features Cise Star. The Silhouettes Project a new platform for up and coming Hip-Hop, Soul and Jazz artists from the UK. It is not a record label or management team, it is a community project. The Silhouettes Project provides an open space - a recording studio and live venue located within the Total Refreshment Centre in Hackney, London - where MCs, singers, musicians and producers can connect and create.The Silhouttes Project was founded by community organisers/artists Asher Korner (aka Kosher) and Jaden Osei-Bonsu (Eerf Evil) in 2019. When they told us about the project and played us some of the music we were instantly hooked and joined the collective as label partner. The art direction is executed by Sergio „SagaUno“ Alferez, an acclaimed designer and illustrator from Medellín, Columbia.Starting in September, we release a new single each Thursday from artists like Kofi Stone, Summers Sons, Enny, KeepVibesNear, Manik MC, Lex Amor, Louis The Hippie, Summer-Pearl, Joe Beard and many more.

Here is the story of the Silhouettes Project as told by its founders Jaden and Asher: „We started The Silhouettes Project in February 2019, to shine a light on the new generation ofunderground Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Soul music in the UK. Community is everything to us, and wewanted to show that with a proper support network, access to professional facilities, and theencouragement of a family of artists, our community could produce something incredible. We felt a joint frustration that the current music scene in the UK only had structures in placeto support talent of a certain genre whilst overlooking a buzzing alternative Hip-Hop culture.We wanted to unify artists who are making ground-breaking music but who are in need of asolid structure to work within - artists who we felt deserved more recognition. This led us tothe name ‘The Silhouettes Project’, as we wanted to shine a light on those artists in theshadows. The journey started by embarking on a collaborative album project which allowed us to bringtogether more than 30 artists on a single tape and to create a network of incredibly talentedartists of the same calibre. The album took more than a year, working almost every day at theRoot 73 studio, a community space in Hackney. We knew from the first few sessions that wewere on to something, and the energy around the project kept it moving. As artists ourselves we understood that the creative process can be challenging and sometimesisolating, especially when there is no clear support network to fall back on. This led us to bringour efforts into the physical realm by organising a series of free live music events for all ofthese artists to come to, showcase their work alongside our house band, and connect witheach other. These events take place at The Total Refreshment Centre in Dalston, anunderground studio complex and warehouse space, which gave the events an intimatecommunity feeling and the people a sense of belonging. There is a desperate need for spaces in which people can come together and develop theircreative potential, especially with the consistent withdrawal of funding from the arts sector inthe UK and with the constant threat of gentrification which has seen the closure of countlesscommunity and grassroots creative organisations. As we grew as a brand and organisation, webegan to fully understand the importance of what we were doing. From the studio sessions tothe events, we saw the impact on people’s outlooks on their own careers, we saw them growin confidence in performing and collaborating and even taking their own initiative to utilise thenetwork provided for them. We heard their feedback, we felt the excitement in theatmospheres at our events and studio sessions, and we saw the community grow every timewe brought it together.“

In 1995, Geronacion was already taking its first firm steps out of anonymity. Their demo, "Pa Representar," would become an essential reference point within the underground scene. This early work by Geronacion, the group formed by Metro, Arse, Eddy, and Dejota Soyez, lacked professional resources and distribution platforms, achieving success thanks to its freshness and authenticity, setting it apart from the rest. The importance of this work lay not only in its musical quality but also in the context in which it emerged. In a Spain where rap was still searching for its own identity, Geronacion offered a distinct approach. Their style was direct, intelligent, and a lot "edutainment." The demo tape became a natural phenomenon within the hip-hop scene. For many young people, discovering Geronacion was also discovering that rap could be made in any city in the country, since they came from Girona, a city far removed from the kind of scene that Madrid or Barcelona usually experienced, without vast resources, just talent, a message, and attitude. It's no exaggeration to say that, thanks to works like this, Spanish hip-hop began to solidify a collective, pluralistic, and authentic identity. Today, looking back, that demo tape is not just a sonic document; it's a reminder of how a scene that would later become a benchmark was forged. It's the echo of an era when the underground was more than a space; it was an attitude, a way of life, and a commitment to one's own truth. Thirty years have passed since that demo was released, and it's being reissued on vinyl for the first time.

Following the release of their first EP "Imperial City Collapse" in 2002 under the name of MS CRU, their shocking first album was released in 2003 under the name of MSC, and made a huge impact on the scene with its extreme and graphic descriptions and skillful use of Japanese language. It is still talked about as one of the best albums of all time.

Often cited as the strongest Tribe 69db live recording, this cassette emerged from a tense and pivotal moment in the early 90s free party scene.
At the time, Techno Import was the largest electronic music shop in Paris, and arguably in France. The shop planned to release a CD compilation titled Sound Of Teknival, featuring Spiral Tribe. As the project progressed, disagreements over money, copyrights and control led Spiral Tribe to withdraw their approval.
Despite this, Shark Records, the label linked to Techno Import for the project, proceeded with the CD release without full artist consent. In response, 69db released a tape titled "Fuck Techno Import". This cassette stands as raw testimony to the clash between underground culture and commercial structures, capturing both the sound and spirit of an era when autonomy mattered more than compromise. Originally released in 1997, specially remastered for tape.

Despite its tragic breakup, Yugoslavia as a political, social and cultural phenomenon still inspires generations, especially those who were born or lived at the time of this utopian land of South Slavs. Those who didn't enjoy the privilege are still amazed by its 1970s and '80s music scene and the number of very modern, high quality acts that were so often ahead of their time. Two such acts were Data and The Master Scratch Band, both founded by Zoran Jevtic and Zoran Vracevic, who introduced synth-pop, breakbeat, and hip-hop music in Yugoslavia in 1984 with their releases: SP Neka Ti Se Dese Prave Stvari/Ne Zovi To Ljubavlju and miniLP Deogut (Jugoton). Our latest release, "It Was Ridiculous, It Was Amazing!" gathers their earliest unreleased material from 1981-1983, showcasing a broader range of genres – alongside synth-pop and breakbeat/hip-hop, they also experimented with industrial, EBM, minimal synth, and electro-funk!

The whole record is divided into two parts: on A side there are 7 previously unpublished songs by group Data, and on B side there are 4 previously unreleased recordings by The Master Scratch Band.

The Data side opens with two unexpected "shocker" tracks: Ja Nisam Kao Ti" (eng. I am Not Like You) and "Izumi" (eng. "Inventions") from 1981, where they sound like early Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft with unusual vocal pan sound effects on Serbian lyrics and uncompromising synth-based sound. Equally unpredictable are the next two songs: atmospheric "España" and dusty "Damage In My Head," where Zoran Jevtić boldly steps into the lead vocal role. But the surprises don't end there. The next two songs, France and Strahovi (eng. "Fears"), bring a mysterious and nostalgic atmosphere, elevated by the irreplaceable sound of the modular Roland System-100M. At the end comes the greatest surprise of all: Data covers YMO-Ballet in a song called Ne Zelim Da Tako Zive (eng, I Don't Want Them Living Like That) and puts some extra energy in rhythm without losing the original song's sensibility. Like in the original, the lyrics are tender and yet mysterious and provocative.

The Master Scratch Band side contains the very first versions of the songs Break War, Jailbreak, and Computer Break, originally recorded in studio Druga Maca in Belgrade in 1983. These versions were not released on their mini-LP album Dégout (Jugoton, 1984), and they are actually the first ever hip-hop/Breakbeat recordings in Yugoslavia. With great enthusiasm, every sound was uniquely crafted from scratch using the finest analog gear available in the early '80s. The two young artists, aiming for international success, chose to write their lyrics in English. The album's final track, "Mad Scratch," showcases their talent for creating impressive sound effects, which would be a delight for contemporary DJs and producers who specialize in sampling and scratching old-school hip-hop.

This release is truly a "100% digger's gem" – 11 previously unreleased tracks from legendary pioneers of electronic, hip-hop, and breakbeat. A collection to discover, enjoy, play, and treasure forever!

February 26, 2020, 10 years after the passing of musician Nujabes. Even though a long time has passed, the number of listeners around the world who desire the music of Nujabes continues to grow. During this turbulent world, Nujabes' label, Hydeout Productions, which is still in charge of the band, asked Haruka Nakamura to make a tribute album to mark the 10-year anniversary of his death, saying, 'I want you to move forward 10 years as time stands still. ' The music video and 7-inch vinyl of 'Reflection Eternal' were released. As the culmination of this project, the album 'Nujabes PRAY Reflections' has been finally released. The beautiful melodies spun by Nujabes are interpreted in a new way by Haruka Nakamura on piano and guitar. The fusion of the two musicians' music has sublimated the work to a new horizon. British-German jazz rap super group Syrup returns with their second album “The Questions” on Melting Pot Music. Syrup are Twit One (beats), Turt of Summers Sons (rap) and C.Tappin (vocals & keys). Twit One is from Cologne and a true universal artist: producer, DJ, curator and record store-owner are some of the many hats Twit is wearing. Turt is one half of South London duo Summers Sons (the other half is his brother Slim) and best friend with C.Tappin with whom he and Slim form the Lightworks crew. Twit, Turt and Tappin share a friendship and musical partnership based on similar musical tastes and live values since they met in Bristol in 2015.
