Peter Criss is a founding member and the original drummer for the rock n' roll supergroup, KISS (1974 to 1980, 1996 to 2003). In addition to playing drums, Peter also provided lead vocals for a number of KISS' most popular songs including the Top 10 Billboard charting Beth, Black Diamond, and Hard Luck Woman. Peter's Catman persona is an instantly recognizable icon in pop culture.

After numerous world tours, platinum albums, and KISS merchandise, Peter Criss left the band in 1980. He later embarked on a solo career that led to the release of Out of Control, Let Me Rock You, and most recently One for All, which landed at number 35 on the Indie charts.

Earl McGrath was the ultimate ’70s jet setter, an art collector and comic bon vivant who stumbled into the record business between legendary parties in New York and LA and discovered Daryl Hall and John Oates and then Jim Carroll. Atlantic founder Ahmet Ertegun gave Earl his own label, Clean Records, in 1970; Mick Jagger hired him to run Rolling Stones Records in 1977.

Friend to Joan Didion, Andy Warhol, and a galaxy of luminaries, Earl was an inveterate tastemaker. Actor Harrison Ford, who before Star Wars fame was Earl’s handyman and pot dealer, called him “the last of a breed, one of the last great gentlemen and bohemians.”

After Earl died in 2016, journalist Joe Hagan, author of the critically-acclaimed Sticky Fingers, the biography of Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner, discovered a trove of rare and unheard tapes in Earl’s apartment in New York—literally inside his closet. “I asked for a step ladder and the first box I pulled off the shelf was a master tape of Some Girls, the Stones album,” says Hagan.

Now Light in the Attic Records proudly presents Earl’s Closet, a double album of the treasures discovered inside, including unheard music by Daryl Hall and John Oates, David Johansen, Terry Allen, Delbert McClinton, Warhol “Superstar” Ultra Violet, Detroit sax legend Norma Jean Bell, Jim Carroll and an eclectic cast of undiscovered artists who once vied for fame and glory—folk, rock, country, funk and R&B gems that virtually no one has heard in decades. Whether it’s the almost-famous power pop of Shadow from Detroit, or the Delfonics-style soul of the Blood Brothers Six, Earl’s Closet retraces the dreams of artists who once sent demos to Earl McGrath. The founder of Bang Records, the label he was signed to, had unexpectedly died. His widow blamed Morrison as the two had been arguing over the direction of his new music. Bert Berns wanted Morrison to head to a more pop orientated sound, but Morrison wanted to explore new terrain. Following the death, Morrison was blocked from recording. Warner Brothers, who subsequently signed Morrison helped him out of that deal. And Morrison set to work on recording a folk rock masterpiece, a stream of consciousness record with music a mix between folk, blues, jazz and even classical music.

Equal parts blue-eyed soul shouter and wild-eyed poet-sorcerer, Van Morrison is among popular music's true innovators, a restless seeker whose incantatory vocals and alchemical fusion of R&B, jazz, blues, and Celtic folk produced what is regarded as perhaps the most spiritually transcendent body of work in the rock 'n' roll canon.

Hailed by critics as one of the greatest albums of all time, Morrison's Moondance was an immediate and commercial success after the Northern Irish singer-songwriter released it on Feb. 27, 1970. After the commercial failure of his first Warner Bros. album Astral Weeks (1968), Morrison moved to upstate New York with his wife and began writing songs for Moondance. There, he met the musicians that would record the album with him at New York City's A & R Studios in August and September 1969.

The album found Morrison abandoning the abstract folk jazz compositions of Astral Weeks in favor of more formally composed songs, which he wrote and produced entirely himself. Its lively rhythm and blues/rock music was the style he would become most known for in his career. The music incorporated soul, jazz, pop, and Irish folk sounds into songs about finding spiritual renewal and redemption in worldly matters such as nature, music, romantic love, and self-affirmation.

Moondance helped establish Morrison as a major pop music artist while several songs from the album, including the title track, became staples of FM radio in the early 1970s. Rolling Stone's updated list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time has Moondance at No. 120.

Lacquers cut by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab at 45 RPM (Mastered from a flat 24/192 digital transfer of the original master tape. EQ'd through The Mastering Lab's analog all-tube system), pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a tip-on old style gatefold double pocket jacket by Stoughton Printing.

In Rainbows, as a title, implies a sense of comfort and delightfulness. Symbolically, rainbows are more likely to be associated with kittens and warm blankets than the grim and glum circumstances Radiohead is known for soundtracking. There's a slight, if expected, twist at play. The band is more than familiar with the unpleasant moods associated with colors like red, green, and blue -- all of which, of course, are colors within a rainbow -- all of which are present, and even mentioned, during the album. On a couple levels, then, In Rainbows is not any less fitting as a Radiohead album title than "Myxomatosis" is as a Radiohead song title. Despite references to "going off the rails," hitting "the bottom," getting "picked over by the worms," being "dead from the neck up," and feeling "trapped" (twice), along with Radiohead Wordplay Deluxe Home Edition pieces like "comatose" and "nightmare" -- in the same song! double score! -- the one aspect of the album that becomes increasingly perceptible with each listen is how romantic it feels, albeit in the way that one might find the bioport scenes in David Cronenberg's eXistenZ to be extremely hot and somewhat unsettling. Surprisingly, some of the album's lyrics are even more personal/universal and straightforward than anything on The Eraser, the album made by Thom Yorke and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. "I'm an animal trapped in your hot car," from "All I Need," has to be one of the saddest, most open-hearted metaphors used to express unrequited love. "House of Cards" begins with "I don't want to be your friend/I just want to be your lover/No matter how it ends/No matter how it starts," and the one with the worms includes "I'd be crazy not to follow/Follow where you lead/Your eyes/They turn me." This effective weaving of disparate elements -- lyrical expressions commonly associated with the band, mixed in with ones suited for everyday love ballads -- goes for the music as well. The album is very song-oriented, with each track constantly moving forward and developing, yet there are abstract electronic layers and studio-as-instrument elements to prevent it from sounding like a regression. In Rainbows will hopefully be remembered as Radiohead's most stimulating synthesis of accessible songs and abstract sounds, rather than their first pick-your-price download. - allmusic.com

For more than three decades, Converge have delivered musical and emotional catharsis, putting purpose before perception and intent before interpretation. Whether it's their 2001 landmark recording Jane Doe or their 2021 Bloodmoon: I collaboration with Chelsea Wolfe, they have created some of the most compelling music, lyrics, and visual art of the 21st century. During that time, fewer bands have had a greater impact on the underground imagination.
It seems unlikely that anyone who has been making music for this long would create one of their best works for their eleventh album, in their 35th year as a band. And yet: Love is Not Enough might be the apotheosis of Converge's decades-long journey through the punk, hardcore and metal microcosm. What vocalist/lyricist Jacob Bannon, guitarist/producer Kurt Ballou, bassist/vocalist Nate Newton and drummer Ben Koller have created is a strident artistic statement on the turmoil of living that hones their collective strengths to a razor's edge.
There isn't an ounce of fat. Every song moves with a power and purpose that eclipses their human origins, that speaks to the anger, pain, and frustration of the modern age. From the opening fusillade of the title track to the closing hurricane of ''We Were Never the Same,'' Love Is Not Enough is a sonorous balance of vitality and viciousness that reflects the chaos and uncertainty of the times we live in.

''There's always obstacles in the world,'' Bannon says. ''Personal, professional, economical, whatever. But I feel like we're in a pressure cooker somewhere on our evolutionary line. It's a lot just to be a human being in the modern world, trying to function, maintain, grow, have empathy, have compassion. It takes more than it used to, to do all those things.''

The album title itself says everything about the trials of today. ''The line 'Love is not enough' is something I had kicking around for a while,'' Bannon says. ''Some of the things I wrote at the time were from a human resilience perspective, an acceptance of the brutality and unforgiving nature of the world. I was reflecting on that in poetic form and set it aside. When we got into the studio, it all fit together.''

''Bad Faith'' is a deeply personal song about cruel intentions and limited options. ''It came from watching someone I love being wronged and broken apart, and there was nothing I could do about it because there was no good intention in the first place,'' Bannon says. ''It's that feeling of helplessness because nothing I could do or say could better the situation. I just had to love and support and do what I could to be there. But I couldn't effect actual change. That's a horrible feeling.''

''We Were Never The Same'' recognizes the unrelatable in even the closest of relations. ''That one was written about getting together with people at a funeral, finding commonality among a variety of people in your life at a time of loss and grief,'' Bannon says. ''We've all been through some version of that in our lives. If you listen to heavy music, you appreciate the time, you appreciate the faces, you appreciate the histories with different people and loved ones. But then the next day comes, all the regular stressors of everyday life kick in, and you don't really connect the way you wish to after reflecting on the loss of somebody. I was processing all that stuff when I wrote the line, 'Why do we all gather to mourn yet not to cherish?' It's an honest question.''

Love Is Not Enough features no special guests, no studio trickery, no relentless massaging of human imperfection in trying to manufacture the perfect take. ''I think that realism is missing from a lot of modern music of any genre, but especially our genre,'' Bannon says. ''Things either go super raw and almost chaotic to the point where it's distracting, or bands take the life out of what they're doing by editing every aspect. Sometimes the perfect take is the one that has some wildness to it. It's not perfectly executed. There's a lot of powerful moments on this record and a lot of angry moments. The realism amplifies that.''

Unlike so many albums that adhere to a time-honored sequencing format, cherry-picking favored tracks for the all-important first, second, and final spots, Love Is Not Enough is all about momentum. ''It does a thing that no other Converge record does-it keeps ramping up,'' Bannon says. ''And that's definitely by design. Internally, we passed around dozens of ideas for sequencing because everyone interprets music differently and there's no right way of doing it. When we do that, we always joke that we all have to be equally unhappy. But this is the one that works.''

Love Is Not Enough was recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City in Salem, Massachusetts, with engineering assistance from Zach Weeks. Jacob Bannon did the artwork and design, creating an image for each song and a commanding cover depicting a celestial witness to a world aflame.

''We still identify this band as the outlet that's essential to our lives,'' Bannon says. ''We give everything we have to it. Being past your average middle age, we're starting to see deeper than before into a variety of places. And I don't think that's specific to us. I think that's something that's utterly relatable.''

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the collaboration album between Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris, All The Roadrunning, is reissued on 2LP smoky marble vinyl as part of Record Store Day 2026.
A treasure trove of duets recorded over a period of seven years, All The Roadrunning, was originally released in 2006 and was a top ten hit in the UK, and a number 1 in multiple European countries. The album includes a title track that was released as a single and reached number 8 in the UK charts, as well as singles “This Is Us” and “Beachcombing”.
Speaking at the time, Knopfler, who first met Harris on a Chet Atkins TV special, said “Emmylou’s respect and affection for the players and the music struck me then and still does. In my writing, I’d been dealing a fair bit with the male/female shape. With that amazing voice, Emmylou, now more than ever, seems to capture a kind of universal female experience, something that speaks to all ages. After our first session and then making a couple of duets for a Hank Williams tribute, I thought we should go on recording, and thankfully Emmylou felt the same.”
In Emmylou’s words, “Making this album was a pure joy—being surrounded by extraordinary musicians and guided by one of the great artists of our time. Truly it is a gift for which I will always be grateful.”

This live album captures Jeff Buckley and band across two nights in Paris July 6th & 7th during his 1995 European tour in support of the release of his Grace album. Captured at the legendary Olympia, it found Buckley before a rapturous French crowd performing half of the songs from his beloved debut album ( including favorites like “Lover, You Should Have Come Over” and “Hallelujah”) plus covers as varied as the MC5’s “Kick Out The Jams,” a Led Zeppelin parody and songs made famous by Nina Simone and Edith Piaf. In addition, the album features an additional live performance of Buckley and Alim Qasimov in a competitive Qawwali singing duet from a festival of sacred music also captured that year in France. Originally released in 2001, this marks the album’s first time on vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day.

The Black Keys' Peaches! is the Akron duo’s fourteenth studio album (their sixth since 2019), a visceral and raw 10-song collection described by singer Dan Auerbach as the band’s “most natural record” since their 2002 debut, The Big Come Up. The album, featuring ''I Walk The Line, '' ''Cry, Cry, Cry, '' and ''Folsom Prison Blues, '' has been given the ultimate treatment for this 180-gram, 45 RPM mono release, featuring audio from original master tapes mastered to vinyl in an all-analog process, plus restored artwork featuring new liner notes.

''I never imagined that I'd hear the iconic voice of Johnny Cash on Intervention Records! '' said Shane Buettner, Intervention Records' founder. ''And I don't think music fans around the world have ever heard Johnny's voice, or Sam Phillips' famous Sun Studio sound, as clearly and definitively as they will on this new 45 RPM mono cut. This is as close you can get to a time machine back to Memphis in the 1950s! ''

Originally issued in the fall of 1957-the first long-player for Sam Phillips' Sun Records-Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar! showcases the stripped-down sound that would make the future Man in Black one of the most enduring and respected musicians of the 20th century. Backed only by his ''Tennessee Two '' (Luther Perkins on lead guitar and Marshall Grant on upright bass) and augmented by Phillips' signature studio slapback that gave Cash's ''boom-chicka-boom '' sound its kick, Hot and Blue Guitar! is the album that introduced many to Cash's sonorous baritone.

The LP features Cash's first three single A-sides for Sun, all self-penned: ''Cry, Cry, Cry, '' (a No. 14 country chart hit), ''So Doggone Lonesome '' (which peaked at No. 4 on the country charts) and Cash's signature original ''I Walk The Line. '' The latter was a No. 1 country smash for six non-consecutive weeks in the summer of 1956 before crossing over into the Top 20 of Billboard's pop charts. Additional standouts include Cash's renditions of fare like ''The Wreck Of The Old 97 '' and ''Rock Island Line, '' as well as a fourth original song, ''Folsom Prison Blues ''-which would top the country charts more than a decade later when Cash performed it as part of his landmark 1968 live album At Folsom Prison.

Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar! is the second title in Intervention's Sun Records Hi-Fi Series, offering exquisite pressings of definitive country and rock material from the label's storied discography. It follows the debut release in the series (and Sun's second LP), Dance Album of Carl Perkins. The 1957 album served as a defining introduction to Perkins' pioneering rockabilly songbook, including the standards ''Blue Suede Shoes, '' ''Matchbox, '' and ''Honey Don't. '' ( ''Blue Suede Shoes, '' later covered by Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and countless others, celebrates the 70th anniversary of its release in 2026.)

Intervention has handled the audio presentation and packaging of these vital albums with great care and attention to detail. Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar! was sourced from flat transfers of '' monaural master reels sourced from the Sun Records archive, which compiled the label's original 7 '' single masters. This exhaustive research process resulted in the best-sounding tape version of each of the 12 songs on the original album, as well as the first vinyl edition of the album in decades to be sourced from these tapes. Acclaimed mastering engineer Kevin Gray at CoHEARent Audio has overseen this pressing of Hot and Blue Guitar!; lacquers were plated using RTI's three-step process and pressed on ultra-quiet 180-gram vinyl by boutique pressing plant Gotta Groove Records, offering crystal-clear audio fidelity that sacrifices none of the spark of the original recordings.

The beautifully restored ''old-style '' jacket, manufactured by Stoughton Printing Co., features a new essay by noted Sun Records historian and two-time Grammy Award winner Colin Escott. His liner notes offer rich context on Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar!, from recording to packaging, and how the album planted the seeds for Cash's singular career, spanning more than half a century. ''[Hot and Blue Guitar] was... a summary of Johnny Cash's roots and his story so far, '' he writes. ''The breadth of his song choices gave some idea of what awaited us in the years and decades ahead. ''

Analogue Productions presents its first Uhqr title — Jimi Hendrix's 1967 masterpiece, Axis: Bold As Love, now as a 45 RPM edition, in both stereo and mono versions. This Uhqr is remastered by noted mastering engineer Bernie Grundman from the original analog master tapes. Each Uhqr will be pressed at Acoustic Sounds' industry-leading pressing plant Quality Record Pressings (qrp) using hand-selected Clarity Vinyl, with attention paid to every single detail of every single record. The 200-gram records will feature the same flat profile that helped to make the original Uhqr so desirable. From the lead-in groove to the run-out groove, there is no pitch to the profile, allowing the customer's stylus to play truly perpendicular to the grooves from edge to center. Clarity Vinyl allows for the purest possible pressing and the most visually stunning presentation. Every Uhqr will be hand inspected upon pressing completion, and only the truly flawless will be allowed to go to market. Each Uhqr will be packaged in a deluxe clamshell box and will include a booklet detailing the entire process of making a Uhqr along with a hand-signed certificate of inspection. This will be a truly deluxe, collectible product.

Each Axis 45 RPM Uhqr will be available as two versions: mono and stereo. The stereo release will be limited to 4,500 copies, while the mono release will be limited to 2,500 copies. The LP jacket will be gold foil numbered.

Axis: Bold As Love, the sensational sophomore release of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, showcased Hendrix's expansive experimentation while acknowledging his early R&B and soul music influences. The album features classics such as "Spanish Castle Magic," "Little Wing," "Castles Made Of Sand," and "If 6 Was 9."

As Rolling Stone states, Jimi Hendrix was the most innovative instrumental genius the rock era produced, a wizard guitar player whose sense of technique never overwhelmed the blues and rock 'n' roll spirit that was the underpinning of his genius. He improvised with the fervor of a born jazzman; he philosophized like the most cosmic rocker, but ultimately his basics were rooted in soul, a reflection of the chitlin circuit, where he cut his teeth.

Wisely retaining manager Chas Chandler to produce the album and Eddie Kramer as engineer, Hendrix stretched further musically than the first album, but even more so as a songwriter. He was still quite capable of coming up with spacy rockers like 'You Got Me Floating,' 'Up from the Skies,' and 'Little Miss Lover,' radio-ready to follow on the commercial heels of 'Foxey Lady' and 'Purple Haze.' But the beautiful, wistful ballads 'Little Wing,' 'Castles Made of Sand,' 'One Rainy Wish,' and the title track set closer show remarkable growth and depth as a tunesmith, harnessing Curtis Mayfield soul guitar to Dylanesque lyrical imagery and Fuzz Face hyperactivity to produce yet another side to his grand psychedelic musical vision." — AllMusic

Bottom line, January of 1968 brought Axis: Bold As Love to the U.S., an album that expanded Jimi's six-string flame with celestial clarity, and also brought his rapidly evolving songwriting gift to the fore. It was recorded at Olympic Studios in London by Eddie Kramer.

This reissue was cut to lacquer by Bernie Grundman. The plating at QRP was directed by Stan Bishop, master plating technician.

The Axis: Bold As Love Uhqr will include a 16-page booklet featuring recording information from the sessions at Olympic Studios in London and an essay written by Brad Tolinski, former editor of Guitar World Magazine.

"Déjà Vu" is the title track to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's first album as a quartet. With Neil Young now in the mix, the album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after its release in March 1970. The album remains a high point for the supergroup, having sold more than 7 million copies. Also on the record are hit singles "Teach Your Children," "Our House," and a cover of Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock."

The late David Crosby penned "Déjà Vu" for the group. Though it wasn't released as a single, it gave that iconic album its name and has subsequently received its fair share of love from CSNY fans.

"I'm one of those people who thinks we go round again," said Crosby back in 2008. "The Buddhists have got it right. It's a wheel and we get on and get off. I think life energy gets recycled. That's why I wrote ‘Déjà Vu.'"

CSNY took a while to craft the album-which is largely considered their magnum opus. "Getting that second album out of us was like pulling teeth, there was song after song that didn't make it," Stephen Stills once said. "The track ‘Déjà Vu' must have meant 100 takes in the studio. But ‘Carry On' happened in a grand total of eight hours from conception to finished master. So you never know."
