To describe Earl Sixteen as a veteran would imply that his days of active service to the Jamaican musical cause are long done. The truth, however, is quite the contrary. Earl remains a formidable force on the global reggae scene, his voice instantly recognisable in cadence and tone. Despite beginning his career five decades ago he continues to inspire audiences and producers around the world with his music. His résumé is a tour de force. He is a Studio One artist, a Black Ark artist, he has worked with Junjo Lawes, Boris Gardiner and Herman Chin-Loy to name but a few. After moving to the UK in the late 1980's he then went to help define a whole new sound with the likes of Nick Manasseh, Leftfield and Dreadzone. The list of his achievements could go on for ever, even those brief mentions alone are enough to vouch for his talent and skill as a singer. On reflection maybe a better term to describe Earl is 'Foundation Artist'.

In the summer of 2024 Earl's long time friend and spar Martin Poole invited him to Bristol to make a record with his friend Eeyun Purkins, whose studio band The Co-Operators have been making waves of their own with their unique take on reggae music.

The result, 'Concrete Rockers', is a showcase that takes us on a journey. Beginning in the early days we trod through Kingston and Jamaica's rural parishes then forward on to New York and London. All the while discussing the all important truths and rights. Rhythmically it is backed by The Co-Operators, warm and organic it is reminiscent of the music coming from Jamaica in the late 1970s. However it possesses that distinct feel and sound that Eeyun has become known for. Horn heavy and layered with smokey flute it features five tracks and their relevant versions.

Listen out because it's coming in HOT!!

Building on the massive success of the Greensleeves and Channel One Soundsystem collaboration "Down in The Dub Vaults', we now join forces with the iconic Iration Steppas for another deep exploration into the world of Dubs, the second release in our "Soundsystem" series. - The masterful selector Mark Iration has been given full access to the Greensleeves archives, carefully curating a powerful selection of Roots and Dub treasures that have long been staples of the Iration Steppas soundsystem. - This collection features legendary Jamaican vocalists such as Michael Prophet, Johnny Osbourne, and Wailing Souls, among others. The second disc takes you into the Echo Chamber, show casing Dub versions from Heavyweights like Roots Radics, Augustus Pablo and The Revolutionaries-complete with Tony McDermott illustrated inner sleeves and photos from the Iration Steppas archives in this gatefold package. - The first edition of our Soundsystem series (with Channel One Soundsystem) flew off the shelves, with demand far exceeding supply-don't miss out this time!

The year is 1974 and we are in Kingston, Jamaica: Lee Scratch Perry has just presented Susan Cadogan's album 'Sexy Suzy' on his Upsetters label. The Jamaican singer, who is just under 25, sees her cover of 'Hurt So Good' flirt with the top of the UK and JA charts but has no idea that 50 years later, she would still be a household name among Jamaican music fanatics.

On the B-side of this LP, produced by Mr Perry himself, the penultimate track is a cover of Little Willie John’s "Fever". Over the years this song has taken an unshakable place in the hearts of reggae lovers worldwide. With nearly 700 different versions referenced to date, Fever already enjoyed classic status at the time, mainly thanks to the success of Peggy Lee’s version released in 1958. Since then, in all styles, across all continents, the song has been reinterpreted, so much so that it's rare to find a year since 1956 without a new version hitting the market! Universal, timeless, this love song is known to all music enthusiasts, but in the reggae scene, it’s Susan Cadogan and Lee Scratch Perry’s version that still reigns supreme.

50 years after its release, Stand High Patrol offer us their own version. Recorded at the end of 2023, the Susan Cadogan / Stand High Patrol collaboration wasn’t initially meant to move beyond its dubplate status. However, due to the track’s success in the dance and a growing demand, it became the first pressed collaboration on record between a Jamaican artist and the Dubadub Musketeerz. Accompanied by its dub version, Stand High’s take on Fever is a creative reimagining and brings to mind that classic 90s UK dub style. Its sits firmly on its foundations, a stepper roots-flavored drum beat. Some might find the interpretation ‘more jazzy’ than Lee Perry’s, but everyone will have their own take. One thing’s for sure—its impact on the dancefloors is undeniable!

Another well overdue re-issue, this time its Shepdog's massive "Bigger Than Jamrock" which laces a classic dancehall track with one of the biggest hip hop basslines known to man. First released in 2006, it was this tune that put Shepdog on the map as a mash-up maestro!

On the flip is a brand new blend and one that you really can't believe hasn't been done before! Taking the vocal from that massive hip hop bassline banger and putting it on top of the biggest dancehall bassline of all time, its not rocket science but sure does lift off any dancefloor when played.

One of the rarest and most sought after roots grails in existence from enigmatic Jamaican Canadian singer Prince Robinson aka R. Man Prince.

Funny Dream, an apocalyptic roots stepper from 1976 is a 45 so rare that it has developed its own mythology in the small circle of collectors who know of its existence.

One rumour suggests that so few copies exist because Robinson’s Russian wife took all the records from Canada back across the iron curtain in the late 70s when they split up. Some suggested he had died.

Shella Records eventually tracked down Prince Robinson not far from Toronto and learned the true story of why the original 45 is so impossibly rare- almost all copies were destroyed shortly after they were pressed, tragically reduced to ashes inside an incinerator.

Thankfully Prince has kept the original mastertapes stored safely in a briefcase for almost 50 years knowing that his music had value and biding his time.

To round out their second wave of 7" singles, Night Owls bring the heat once again with their signature sound and vision. Re-imagining two Aaron Neville classics, “Hercules” feat. Alex Désert and The Lions b/w “Tell It Like It Is” feat. Asdru Sierra from Ozomatli, Night Owls up the ante by bringing in some heavy hitters for both sides of this 45. Side A's "Hercules" features long-time collaborators and bandmates from The Lions (Stones Throw, Ubiquity, Nyct) - the soulful tenor of Alex Désert (also Hepcat) on lead blending seamlessly with the familiar voices of Deston Berry (Hepcat) and Malik Moore (Ocean 11) on backing harmonies. The Lions front line locks in tight from the many years performing together on top of a darker and grittier interpretation of Allen Toussaint’s masterpiece complete with fuzzed-out guitar, Space Echoes and rhythm drops. On the flip, "Tell It Like It Is" keeps the momentum going and hips swaying with added Colombian percussion elements and California lowrider vibes. Featuring L.A. family and multi-talented vocalist of Ozomatli, Asdru Sierra, on lead and Night Owl Dan Ubick on backing vocals Side B creates a unique blend of reggae and Cumbia into a very fresh take on this multi-generational hit.

These songs catapulted him to international fame, leading to a successful world tour. Upon arriving in the UK, Prince Jazzbo connected with me, that I was already making waves with artists like Louisa Mark, Owen Gray, Tappa Zukie and Zabandis. This partnership led to a fruitful collaboration, and I am excited to share some of the incredible music that came out of our work together. I hope you enjoy it.” (Clement Bushay, November 2024)

Among one of the most sought after english dub albums, Black Jade Contempo is still somewhat of a mystery. Definitely ahead of its time, their deeper dub style was very sophisticated indeed. The material was originally recorded between 1975-76 and then collected in their self-produced debut. The vinyl first appearance was at the Notting Hill Carnival in the summer of 1976, where the band – apparently – was freely distributing it on the streets !

Lantern record is proud to present this unreleased collection from one of the more significant well-kept Liverpool’s musical secret. Modern Eon - comprising Alex Che Johnson (vocals/guitar), Danny Hampson (bass), Tim Lever (guitar and sax), Bob Wakelin (keyboards) and Cliff Hewitt (drums). Releasing the sophisticated Fiction Tales in April, 1981 – with material largely written by Che Johnson/Hampson, plus three singles, the band toured the UK and Europe. But by the end of 1981 Modern Eon disappeared as suddenly as they’d emerged, leaving fans with a glimpse of sonic, creative and production brilliance juxtaposing new wave, progressive and experimental. Some of the early material presented here provides the opportunity to hear Modern Eon in its early, developmental stage, as well as the innovative 45-rpm DinDisc, b-sides from the singles and, finally, one 1979 instrumental and three 1981 demos.

“Best Dressed Chicken in Town” is the debut album by Jamaican deejay Dr. Alimantado. It was first released in 1978, and collects many of his self-produced singles from 1972 to 1977, employing the engineering talents of Lee Perry, King Tubby, and Scientist.

It was the first album released by Greensleeves Records, and found favour with followers of both reggae and punk rock in the United Kingdom. The album employed several major hits as the basis for the tracks, including Horace Andy's versions of "Ain't No Sunshine" (on the title track) and "A Quiet Place" ("Poison Flour" and "I Shall Fear No Evil"), John Holt's "Ali Baba" ("I Killed the Barber"), and Gregory Isaacs' "Thief a Man" (on "Gimmie Mi Gun") and "My Religion" ("Unitone Skank"). The album was described by The Independent as "one of the finest albums from reggae's golden age".

The front cover photography is credited to D.K. James and the back cover artwork and photography to David Hendley.

Pagan Psych-Folk Glam Vocal Sounds of the Italian Cinema is a superb collection of extremely obscure gems culled from a variety of forgotten films. Featuring mostly vocal tracks, these songs are dripping with that mid 1960s to mid 1970s exploratory nature of song-craft, from clever and majestic to the ridiculously absurd. Acoustic guitars laced with strings and subtle effects, haunting and moody lyrical tales, and epic ballads that rock - all of them fitting together like an impossible puzzle that most music aficionados of this magical period never knew existed. Stretches of this compilation could accompany an imagined sequel to the Wicker Man Film made in Italy! A mix of relatively unknown and legendary composers of the time are presented here in this incredible package, which has been lovingly assembled to provide the most pleasurable listening experience available. Pagan Psych-Folk Glam Vocal Sounds of the Italian Cinema Legends such as Nico Fidenco, Guido & Maurizio De Angelis, Piero Umiliani and obscure combos like The Sorrows and The Rage Within are included among many other artists that combine to make Pagan Psych-Folk Glam Vocal Sounds of the Italian Cinema an instantly iconic release. Lavish full-color gate-fold jacket collage artwork with still shots from many of the films represented here – Limited edition pressing of 750 copies.

Operation Sole like the summer, hopefully, imminent; “Operazione Sole” like the 1967 song by Peppino Di Capri, considered, perhaps wrongly, the first ska in Italy, but certainly the first to talk about Jamaica and upbeat rhythms. The record you have in your hand is intended to be a testimony to how much the sounds born in Kingston between the '60s and '70s had a significant influence on local pop. With the first explosion of reggae in England between 1968 and 1970, as well as with the rise of Bob Marley to a worldwide cult phenomenon, parallel to the all-English phenomenon of Two Tone and the ska revival, Italy, always attracted by the new trends not only English, he certainly couldn't stay on the sidelines. Therefore these innovative and unknown upbeat sounds, derived from the blues of the 1950s and mixed with a Caribbean sauce, have also taken hold in the Bel Paese. It began as early as 1959 with the song “Nessuno” by Mina, considered to all intents and purposes a Jamaican shuffle, to arrive in a few years at blue-beat (I4 di Lucca, Claudio Casavecchi) and ska (Margherita, Peppino Di Capri , Silvano Silvi, Renzo and Virginia) and be exposed to the first reggae (for example Jo Fedeli and his Italian version of “Israelites” by Desmond Dekker). Thus, we quickly reach the end of the decade of the economic boom and the culture, styles, references change: everything becomes more busy (on a cultural, artistic and political level). After a stalemate phase that lasted more than five years, Bob Marley's reggae (considered a sort of new Messiah) conquers the planet, including Italy: the producers and artists, even at a high level, for a few years do not remain at all indifferent to this novelty and decide to introduce the "upbeat", primarily reggae, into the various pop repertoires: well-known names such as Loredana Bertè, Mario Lavezzi, Rino Gaetano, Ivano Fossati, Ilona Staller, Adriano Celentano, Edoardo Bennato throw themselves headlong into new sonic adventures, in a pioneering way, but often with excellent results. The "Operazione Sole" collection wants to take the credit, instead, of proposing and discovering lesser-known artists (with the exception of Gino Santercole, former associate and relative of Il Molleggiato), often real meteors in the Italian musical panorama, who have tried to achieve (or achieve again) success by adapting the pop that was so popular in those years to the new black sounds prevailing in the West. We are in the early 80s and we range from the most classic reggae, to Italo-disco contaminated by dub up to the true Neapolitan style which, on more than one occasion, in its being endemically "black" and full of groove, has wrung out the watch out for agreements made in Kingston and London. “Operation Sun”: a pleasant philological work, but surrounded by an equally pleasant aura of disengagement.

Analogue Productions' UHQR, the pinnacle of high-quality vinyl!
45 RPM Ultra High Quality Record release limited to 4,500 copies
Mastered from the original tapes by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound
Pressed at Quality Record Pressings using Clarity Vinyl®
Purest possible pressing and most visually stunning presentation and packaging!
By the time Bob Marley died, he was one of the world's first global superstars, famous and lauded from Europe through Africa and the Americas. Some even saw him as not just a reggae singer but as a folk hero, a sort of freedom fighter, and to this day his enduring image feels greater than the music he made, writes Pitchfork.
In the 21st century, Bob Marley is a global cultural icon and the first Jamaican inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. 1977's Exodus — recorded in London exile after a failed attempt on his life — turned out to be Marley's biggest-selling studio album. Time magazine named it the greatest LP of the 20th century.
Other Marley discs had bigger hits and still others had better album tracks, but the balance Marley strikes between politics, religion, and romance on Exodus — compare and contrast the urgent title track and the laid-back "Jamming" — shows a pop star at the peak of his powers.
Now, Analogue Productions presents perfection — Exodus in UHQR 45 RPM format on Clarity Vinyl. This Ultra High Quality Record release will be limited to 4,500 copies, with gold foil individually numbered jackets.
After the success of 1974's Natty Dread and 1976's Rastaman Vibration, Bob Marley was not only the most successful reggae musician in the world, he was one of the most powerful men in Jamaica. Powerful enough, in fact, that he was shot by gunmen who broke into his home in December 1976, days before he was to play a massive free concert intended to ease tensions days before a contentious election for Jamaican Prime Minister. In the wake of the assassination attempt, Marley and his band left Jamaica and settled in London for two years, where he recorded Exodus.
Exodus represented a subtle but significant shift for Marley; while he continued to speak out against political corruption and for freedom and equality for Third World people, his skill as a songwriter was as strong as ever, and Exodus boasted more than a few classics, "including the title song, 'Three Little Birds,' 'Waiting in Vain,' and 'Turn Your Lights Down Low,' tunes that defined Marley's gift for sounding laid-back and incisive at once," writes AllMusic.
This UHQR is remastered at 45 RPM by Sterling Sound's Ryan K. Smith from the original analog master tapes. Each UHQR will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Acoustic Sounds' industry-leading pressing plant Quality Record Pressings (QRP) using hand-selected Clarity Vinyl® with attention paid to every single detail. These records will feature the same flat profile that helped to make the original UHQR so desirable. From the lead-in groove to the run-out groove, there is no pitch to the profile, allowing the customer's stylus to play truly perpendicular to the grooves from edge to center. Clarity Vinyl allows for the purest possible pressing and the most visually stunning presentation. Every UHQR will be hand inspected upon pressing completion, and only the truly flawless will be allowed to go to market. Each UHQR will be packaged in a custom clamshell box and will include a booklet detailing the entire process of making a UHQR along with a hand-signed certificate of inspection. This will be a truly deluxe, collectible product.

Stix Records, a sub-label of Favorite Recordings, is back with some heavy dub cuts from label regular Mato with its usual special skills as a tailor of reggae music. On Side A, Mato focuses on the infamous "Summer Madness", originally composed by Kool & The Gang. Providing a fresh dub rework, the song will make you dream of hot wet summer nights, gently rocked by beautiful guitar melodies and sweet Fender Rhodes chords. Just a perfect match for all forthcoming summers of love! On Side B, Mato takes care of "Use Me", originally composed by Bill Withers on his Still Bill album. Expect funky and bouncy clavinets and a nice melodica line for this rework of a timeless classic. As Mato once said, "Play it loud and burn a chalice!" Starting his reggae production career in 2006, Thomas Blanchot (aka Mato) has released music through various projects on EDR Records, Big Singles or Makasound ... In the meantime he developed a real trademark, taking over classics French, Hip-Hop, or Pop song, into roots reggae-dub new versions. Besides, since 2010, Mato has built a solid reputation thanks to his hot remixes of Hip-Hop classics on Stix Records.

Lee "Scratch" Perry: a genius? A madman? A mystic man? There can be no doubt that he is one of the most consequential figures in the world of music, creator of countless reggae classics, a mentor to Bob Marley, an architect of dub music, and inspiration to musicians around the world ranging from The Clash to the Beastie Boys. Though Scratch may have at times seemed crazy it is worth noting that creative genius appears so because geniuses see things others do not see and inhabit realities unseen. As the music on this album reveals, Lee Perry's Black Ark creations re-arrange the familiar into something new and magical. Lee spent his early days working with legendary producers Coxsone Dodd, Duke Reid, Joe Gibbs, Clancy Eccles and Prince Buster, and by 1968 he was an independent producer, naming his studio musicians The Upsetters and scoring instrumental hits with innovative rhythms that helped forge the new reggae style. In 1970-1971 he produced what many consider the greatest works by the Wailers; in 1968 one of his Upsetters productions hit #5 on the UK pop chart and more hits followed. That gave him the funds to build his own studio and in 1973 the legendary Black Ark was born. Among the many landmark classics cut at Black Ark are such incisive political commentaries as Max Romeo's "War Ina Babylon," and Junior Murvin's "Police and Thieves" (covered by the Clash). The Congos' "Heart of the Congos" album is a roots classic and there are many wonderful obscure singles such as Carlton and the Shoes' "Better Days." Many dub creations made innovative use of Scratch's sonic wizardry via echo, phasing, reverb, flanging, wah-wah and various sound effects. It all came to an end in 1978 as Lee, besieged by extortionists, freeloaders, religious fanatics and assorted pilgrims, let the studio lapse. And then he set it on fire, some say due to frustration, others say from mental collapse. He left Jamaica, collaborated with musicians around the world, toured as a sort of mystic trickster/shaman and prospered. But his work at Black Ark will always stand as his ultimate creative achievement.

In the late 1960s, Canada’s largest city was musically booming as Caribbean immigrants made Toronto their new home. The finest ska, rocksteady, and reggae recording artists of the era—Studio One, Treasure Isle, and Trojan Records originators—simply did what came naturally to them. One by one, they hit the studio and captured some of the toughest tunes this side of Kingston. Collectively, they broke down racial and cultural barriers to form an unprecedented and little-known Canadian reggae community. Jamaica to Toronto: Soul, Funk, & Reggae 1967-1974 details this crucial sonic migration. [[Selling Points]] Featuring Jackie Mittoo, Johnnie Osbourne, Wayne McGhie, Lloyd Delpratt, The Mighty Pope, Jo-Jo Bennett, Eddie Spencer, Noel Ellis, and more… 2024 expanded edition with 20-page deluxe booklet featuring archival images, artist bios, and essays 2xLP set, cut at 45 rpm, housed in a deluxe gatefold jacket Compiled, sequenced, and annotated by GRAMMY-nominated producer, DJ, and journalist Kevin Howes (aka Sipreano, Voluntary In Nature) in partnership with Light in the Attic Pressed at Optimal on Yellow & Green ReVinyl, a sustainable alternative using 100% recycled materials.

Rids the World of the Curse of the Vampires (1981) not only ably displays the mix masters varied approach of, but clocks in as one of his best outings! Scientist keeps things lively with plenty of reverb and echo-treated percussion, ghostly piano parts, video game sound effects, and other various wobbly interjections from the mixing board. And adding to the record’s expert evocation of the Halloween spirit are some fiendishly voiced intros, the cover art’s cartoon potpourri of horror film characters, and the dubious claim made in the liner notes that Scientist mixed it all at midnight on Friday the 13th (reach for the flashlights kids). Along with Keith Hundson’s Pick a Dub and Lee Perry’s Blackboard Jungle Dub, this excellent Scientist release is one of the essential dub albums available.

Stix Records, a sub-label of Favorite Recordings, proudly presents the new and 3rd single by Mato & Ethel Lindsey. Following to their stunning cover of the famous “What You Won’t Do For Love” by Bobby Caldwell, and “Baby Come Back”, the underground AOR/Blue-Eyed-Soul classic from The Player, the duo this time takes over “Georgy Porgy” by Toto.

As usual Mato’s unique reggae production skills delivers a blazing version of the multi-platinum worldwide hit, and Ethel Lindsey’s vocals match perfectly with his strong AOR influence and style. To complete and provide the release with a special twist, they also decided to cover the more underrated French version of the song, originally released by Dwight Druick on his Tanger album.

Ethel Lindsey is currently preparing his 1st album to be released on Favorite Recordings, Ethel has a long music and singing experience, unless an almost blank discography. From his very young age, he’s developed a deep passion for AOR and Blue-Eyed-Soul artists.

Starting his reggae production career in 2006, Thomas Blanchot (aka Mato) has released music through various projects on EDR Records, Big Singles or Makasound... In the meantime, he developed a real trademark: taking over classic French, Hip-Hop, OST, Classical or Pop songs, into roots reggae-dub new versions. His 15 years collaboration with Stix Records and label honcho Pascal Rioux gave life to many masterpieces and the story seems far from the end…

Purest possible pressing and most visually stunning presentation and packaging!
When Rastaman Vibration was first released in America in 1976 it did what some in the music industry considered nearly impossible at the time. It took Bob Marley into the Top Ten alongside disco records and corporate rock, points out Rolling Stone, which rates the album 4 stars.
Despite the good cheer of the title track and the upbeat "Roots, Rock, Reggae," Rastaman Vibration contains some of Marley's most intense images of oppression, paranoia and despair. Tracks such as "Who the Cap Fit," "Crazy Baldhead" and "War" are offered by the Wailers with dire urgency as Marley's brutal visions are echoed by his own church choir, the I-Threes. More than four decades later, neither Marley's music nor his message has lost its sting.
Now, Analogue Productions presents perfection — Rastaman Vibration cut at 45 RPM in UHQR format on 180-gram 2LP Clarity Vinyl. This Ultra High Quality Record release will be limited to 4,500 copies, with gold foil individually numbered jackets.
For Bob Marley, 1975 was a triumphant year. The singer's Natty Dread album featured one of his strongest batches of original material (the first compiled after the departure of Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer) and delivered Top 40 hit "No Woman No Cry." The follow-up Live set, a document of Marley's appearance at London's Lyceum, found the singer conquering England as well. Upon completing the tour, Marley and his band returned to Jamaica, laying down the tracks for Rastaman Vibration (1976) at legendary studios run by Harry Johnson and Joe Gibbs. At the mixing board for the sessions were Sylvan Morris and Errol Thompson, Jamaican engineers of the highest caliber.
Of the material on Rastaman Vibration, "War," for one, remains one of the most stunning statements of the singer's career. Though it is essentially a straight reading of one of Haile Selassie's speeches, Marley phrases the text exquisitely to fit a musical setting, a quiet intensity lying just below the surface. Equally strong are the likes of "Rat Race,""'Crazy Baldhead," and "Want More." These songs are tempered by buoyant, lighthearted material like "Cry to Me," "Night Shift," and "Positive Vibration." Not quite as strong as some of the love songs Marley would score hits with on subsequent albums, "Cry to Me" seems like an obvious choice for a single and remains underrated.
This UHQR is remastered at 45 RPM by Sterling Sound's Ryan K. Smith from the original analog master tapes. Each UHQR will be pressed at Acoustic Sounds' industry-leading pressing plant Quality Record Pressings (QRP) using hand-selected Clarity Vinyl® with attention paid to every single detail.
In addition to the UHQR booklet the package will contain a 8-page 12" x 12" booklet containing new liner notes by musican and Marley biographer Leroy Jodie Pierson as well as exclusive photos by Kim-Gottlieb Walker. Pierson is a past performer for Blues Masters at the Crossroads, the two-night historic blues festival at Blue Heaven Studios in Salina, Kansas. He's also recorded a Direct-To-Disc blues album for APO Records. (AAPO 005)

Tabou1 is proud to present ''Roots Natty'', a treasure trove of rare tracks from one of reggae's most iconic groups, The Gladiators. These songs were recorded during reggae's golden era, from 1977 to 1979, a time when the genre was shaping global music culture.

During this period, alongside other reggae giants like Culture and Burning Spear, The Gladiators crafted unforgettable arrangements to match their deep, thoughtful compositions. With Albert Griffiths and Clinton Fearon at the helm, their lyrics transported listeners to a mystical land where peace reigned, Rastafari thrived, and the chaos of Babylon was left far behind.

The majority of the tracks in ''Roots Natty'' are rare Jamaican singles, featuring mixes that are harder, heavier, and more dub-infused than their album released in the West at the same time. Originally released in small, exclusive batches in Jamaica, these singles have been carefully restored and remastered, preserving their raw, authentic energy for a new generation of Reggae lovers.

Kaya, released in 1978, was the tenth studio album by the Jamaican band Bob Marley & The Wailers, comprising tracks recorded alongside those released on the Exodus album. On Kaya, the band continued what has become an unspoken tradition in the evolution of Bob Marley & The Wailers discography — blending western sounds and motifs with the icons and traditions from the very core of Jamaican society.
Released in 1978, Kaya wasn't necessarily made with American tastes in mind, but it was an album that presented a more accessible version of Bob Marley. Lyrically, the songs avoided the political commentary or Rastafarian philosophizing that was at the forefront of Natty Dread and Rastaman Vibration, and instead emphasized tunes about love and ganga, such as "Easy Skanking" and the title cut. And the palpable musical tension that simmered beneath the surface on the Wailers' earlier material gave way to a more laid-back riddim that was more comfortable but a bit less demanding. Kaya presented a gentler and friendlier version of Bob Marley & the Wailers, but it also documented Marley and his group at the peak of their abilities.
Likewise, Kaya could also be easily construed as an open love letter or musical paean to the lifestyle that Marley so eagerly embraced and promoted. Evidence that the spirituality that permeates the Wailers music is real and not lip service.
Now, Analogue Productions presents Kaya in sonic perfection — featured on 180-gram vinyl pressed at 45 RPM at Quality Record Pressings. Housed in a deluxe Old Style Tip-On Jacket from Stoughton Printing

Uprising would be the final studio album featuring Bob Marley & the Wailers to be released during Marley's lifetime. Prophetically, it also contains some of the band's finest crafted material, as if they were cognizant that this would be their final outing.
Released in 1980, Uprising stands as one of Bob Marley's most poignant and spiritually charged albums, embodying both his enduring reggae genius and his reflective, almost prophetic musings on life and faith. What makes Uprising particularly unique in Marley's discography is its duality-balancing socially conscious anthems with deeply personal expressions of faith, hope, and mortality.
Tracks such as the iconic "Redemption Song," with its acoustic simplicity and universal message of liberation, and the haunting "Forever Loving Jah," reveal a man at peace with his spirituality. Meanwhile, songs such as "Could You Be Loved" deliver infectious grooves and crossover appeal, proving Marley's ability to blend message and melody effortlessly.
Critics and fans alike hailed Uprising as a high point in Marley's career. It received acclaim for its mature sound and cohesive vision, with reviewers highlighting its raw emotional power. While it didn't achieve the explosive commercial success of Exodus or Kaya, it cemented Marley's status as a global ambassador for reggae and freedom.
For Marley fans, it's more than an album — it's a testament to his enduring spirit.
Now, Analogue Productions gives Uprising the deluxe treatment this album, with its rich heritage, deserves. Pressed on 180-gram vinyl pressed at 45 RPM at Quality Record Pressings. Housed in a deluxe Old Style Tip-On Jacket from Stoughton Printing.

Burnin' is the Wailers' sixth album, released in October 1973. All three members of the band — Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer (the last time before Tosh and Bunny departed for solo careers and the band became known as Bob Marley & The Wailers) — wrote for, recorded and produced the album in Jamaica. Burnin' promoted the Wailers into international fame, led by the classic hits "I Shot The Sheriff" (a subsequent U.S. No. 1 for Eric Clapton) and the enduring anthem of people power, adopted by civil rights activists worldwide "Get Up, Stand Up."
Burnin' was, to some degree, a summary of the Wailers' progress to this point. An album full of revolutionary fire and fervor, it was also the last, heroic distillation of a lineup that had taken the teenaged Wailer, Tosh, and Marley on a journey from the streets of Trenchtown to the brink of global stardom.
Although a "new" act in Britain and America, the Wailers had been singing and recording together since 1963, and could boast a plentiful catalog of songs which were largely unknown outside Jamaica. Several of the tracks on Burnin' were re-recordings of songs that had been released before. "Put It On," a gentle, spiritual groove with the more emollient chant of "Lord I Thank You," had been released as a single on the Studio One label in Jamaica in 1965, when it was one of the first songs to coin the word "toasting" to refer to the lyrical style of chanting by the dancehall DJs. Likewise "Duppy Conqueror" and "Small Axe" were both new recordings of songs that were old favorites in the Wailers' story.
From Burnin' forward it would be Bob Marley who was very much the man in charge.
Here, with our UHQR format in Clarity Vinyl, you receive the added bonus of a 45 RPM cut that enhances the clarity and transparency of the music. It's all set against Quality Record Pressings' usual noiseless backgrounds 180-gram flawless records. Michael George Henry (aka Ras Michael and, for this lone release, Dadawah) was born in 1943 in Saint Mary Parish, in northeastern Jamaica. Henry was raised in a Rastafari community when the religious movement was still in its infancy and marginalized within Jamaica. It was there that he began performing Nyahbinghi, the Rastafarian devotional music that combines the influences of African drumming and Black gospel. Henry found himself in Kingston in the late 1950s where he worked for Coxsone Dodd at the legendary Studio One. By 1968, he had formed the group Sons of Negus and the first overtly Rasta record label, Zion Disc. As Rasta filtered into the mainstream, Henry released more music including albums for Trojan, Dynamic and Grounation labels. Originally released in 1974, Peace And Love – Wadadasow is Dadawah’s magnum opus. Produced by Lloyd Charmers, the album features slinky basslines, wah-wah guitar, hypnotic keyboards, dubbed-out studio trickery and, of course, the propulsive drumming and rhythmic chanting characteristic of Nyahbinghi. Antarctica Starts Here presents the first widely available domestic release of Peace and Love - Wadadasow. This reissue is part of an archival series that focuses on Trojan’s essential ’60s and ’70s catalogue. Liner notes by JR Gonne.

Fat Freddy's Drop present the ‘lock-in’ album, a sonic moment in time as the band jam conscious songs of freedom and hope for a generation. The studio session was captured at the iconic Michael Fowler Centre in the band’s hometown of Wellington, New Zealand during the pandemic lockdown. Devoid of audience, it’s a reflection of the surreal times that’s halted tour life 2020. The band re-located their Bays studio to the MFC and set up in a circle on the MFC stage for the recording, providing a unique space to jam slow burn classics such as ‘Soldier’, ‘Hope’ and ‘This Room’ as well as test drive ‘Avengers’ a brand new track in the making. The other tracks recorded are 'Special Edition', ‘Six-Eight', ‘OneFourteen’ and 'Trickle Down’ from ‘Special Edition Part 1’ the band’s most recent album. The crisp multi-track production was recorded by Western Audio, monster mix back at Bays studio by DJ Fitchie, Freddys beat master and producer. Mastering at Calyx studio in Berlin. The ‘lock-in’ session melds Freddys fastidious studio chops and love of freewheeling jams with a tautness that comes from 21 years in the business and a reputation as one of the finest live draws in the world.
