The "Black Gold Black & Gold Vinyl Edition (New Edition)" LP by Wu-Tang Clan vs. Jimi Hendrix brings together two seemingly opposing sonic worlds in a continuous remix project: distinctive rap vocals and rhythmic phrases from the Wu-Tang universe meet the expressive guitar lines and psychedelic colors of the Hendrix repertoire. The combination is realized not as a mere collage, but as an arrangement-driven reweaving that fuses vocal and instrumental parts into new song structures.

Musically, the project is characterized by contrast: the raw, text-centered directness of the Wu-Tang performances provides the basis for loop-based beats and targeted breaks, while Hendrix’s guitar textures lend the material organic breadth and harmonic fragility. This combination highlights the interplay between lyrics and tone color and shifts familiar phrases into unfamiliar atmospheric contexts.

As a release, the material takes shape as a curated remix work documented in a revised version (2018 remaster); in parallel, there is a physical 2LP pressing in a black-and-gold configuration that makes the project tangible as a vinyl edition. The edition turns the focus to the creative side of mashup and remix culture by recombining familiar sources and thereby placing both the strengths of rap performance and expressive guitar work at the center.

New and stunning release on Smiling C limited to 500 copies worldwide. Exclusively available through HHV in Europe.

More than four years in the making, Tiki Shack Recording Studios AKA Smiling C Records & Mike Patricola present Pipe Dreams — a compilation of sidewalk surf bands, tropical troubadours, and soothing sounds from just beyond the reef.

Compiled by Mike Patricola, Pipe Dreams is the culmination of years spent exchanging obscure recordings, pursuing a shared feeling, and uncovering a sub-genre of overlooked songs that could be woven into a story of surf, snorkel, and sun. Drawn from Patricola's collection, the compilation aims to capture the feeling of endless summer, and serves as an ode to the freedom of island living: Bikini-shaped sunburns, coconut stands closed due to perfect swells, slack guitars, perpetual sunsets, guppies darting through shallow water, and afternoons spent face-down in the sand.

Spanning the late 1970s through the mid 1980s, Pipe Dreams gathers forgotten pop, lounge, soft rock, AOR, disco, and private-press oddities into a time capsule that seeks to epitomize an era that existed before life became mediated by screens. One in which technology was more naive and society was less reliant upon it. Time moved slower, people were better able to connect with their surroundings, and the dream of moving to a coastal utopia felt more attainable.

Each side unfolds as its own chapter.

Side A begins with Midwestern lettermen The Sunset Kidds, whose hypnagogic harmonies on “Darlin’” evoke the Beach Boys mired in the post-summer doldrums. Australia's Simplex 2 follow with the previously unreleased “Tiger Bay”, capturing the slow pulse of a perfect beach day through low end groove. Don Moore's infectious “Water Lily” arrives via a romantic Fire Island love affair, while Cay Gottlieb contributes a dose of Bahamian Balearica. To close the side out, Tennessee crooner Ron Holmes delivers an extra dose of salt on the margarita rim for good measure.

Side B shifts into a more upbeat surf-disco and pub-rock mode. Montreal’s Dino Pacifici’s nostalgic ode to carefree summers long passed, followed by Marseille's own The Students "Ocean Lifestyle" — which sits somewhere between Shuggie Otis and The Stranglers. Another Montréalais artist Pierre Rochette delivers a chuggy surf-disco belter, while Special Edition Band ventures from boozy rock into a washed-out paradise with glistening guitars.

Side C serves as an ode to tropical troubadours — intimate songs that range from drum machine lounge to private island bedroom recordings. Japan's Twin Cosmos, actual identical twins, dream up beachfront breezes on "Coconuts Wind." Hawaiian songwriter Dennis Soares offers the delicate and deeply personal "One World," while Ossie Parker Jr. supplies some Bahamian barroom sophistication. Miles Corbin brings sounds straight from the tiki hut, and lounge lizard Glen Banks takes us into the final intermission with a lullaby live from the Coconut Grove.

Side D catches a wave back in. Meri-Lynn & The Key Lime Pie Band celebrate the Florida Key life, Dennis Soares returns for one final Hawaiian postcard, and the Latin band Acapulco contribute a hefty dose of sunny positivity akin to one of Brian Wilson’s cheerier tunes. To round it out, Rick Sharp injects a touch of Bossa cheek and fantasy, and British pub blokes Contrast steer the compilation back toward where it all began — a destination somewhere between a Beach Boy California paradise, a remote oceanside lounge for loners, and a sleazy coastal timeshare.

Pressed on vinyl in a deluxe die-cut, spot-glossed gatefold jacket featuring artwork by our man Charles Bals and cover “Breaking Wave” photo by Lex Thompson. Pipe Dreams is designed as both a listening experience and an object of escape. Drop the needle, lean back, and let the tide carry you away.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, the album first appears on "Yellow Flame" vinyl. With 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond', the hypnotic 'Welcome To The Machine', the snappy 'Have a Cigar' and the indispensable title song, Wish You Were Here is undoubtedly one of the most important albums in the history of pop music. The album's themes - absence, isolation, transience, and criticism of the insincerity of the music industry - are reflected in the iconic album cover. Even 50 years after it's release, "Wish You Were Here" sounds as up-to-date and vibrant as ever.

The “Sad Wings Of Destiny Anniversary Edition” LP by Judas Priest is being released on the Exciter label and brings the band’s second album back in a revised anniversary version. Exciter presents the release as a newly reworked edition that draws on the original 1976 analog master tapes and restores the running order intended by the band, with “Prelude” as the opener. The edition focuses on sonic precision and documents the work in an updated form without blurring the historical core of the recordings.

For the technical overhaul, the team brought in experienced sound engineers and used half-speed mastering; the original tapes were also digitized and restored, and the reissue was created in collaboration with Judas Priest. The “Sad Wings Of Destiny Anniversary Edition” LP delivers the album’s standout compositions in a remixed and remastered version that brings out details and arrangements more clearly and emphasizes the songs’ dramatic dynamic shifts. With this edition, Exciter pursues a clean, documentary reappraisal of an early Judas Priest milestone and offers both collectors and new listeners an edition that places the musical substance and historical significance of the original recordings equally at the forefront.

The “Live Aid” LP by Queen is released on Easy Meal and comes with a white cover. Side A gathers the legendary Wembley set from July 13, 1985, including the immediate live versions of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Radio Ga Ga,” and juxtaposes these stadium performances with the band’s early De Lane Lea recordings. Side B features historic studio recordings such as “Keep Yourself Alive,” as well as tracks from the band’s early creative periods, giving the release a direct contrast between onstage presence and early band material.

The selection of tracks highlights defining moments of Freddie Mercury’s lead vocals and Brian May’s distinctive guitar work, complemented by the tight interplay of Roger Taylor and John Deacon. As a classic rock LP, the Easy Meal edition brings the dynamism of the Wembley performance into a concise format and complements it with studio recordings that have a documentary feel, so that both the theatrical stage performance and the unfiltered energy of the early tracks come through. The white cover design serves as a clear distinguishing feature of this edition.

The "Rush" LP by Rush is being released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab as a numbered 180 g 45 RPM double LP. This edition is based on the band’s original analog tapes and has been specifically re-mastered for vinyl playback; Mobile Fidelity describes the transfer chain from the 1/4" 15 IPS Dolby A analog master through DSD 256 back to the analog cutting console in order to achieve the most tonally accurate pressing possible.

The 1974 debut captures Rush in their raw, blues-tinged hard rock form: concise, punchy guitar work from Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee’s distinctive, high‑pitched vocals, and the original drumming of John Rutsey define the sound. Producer Dave Stock, as well as later revisions by Terry Brown, are part of the album’s production history and have given the songs more body and clarity. Classics like "Working Man" and "Finding My Way" are included in the track list and stand as prime examples of the trio’s early energy.

Musically, the album moves between gritty hard rock and blues‑leaning arrangements, with early signs of the sophisticated song structures that would later become Rush’s hallmark. This Mobile Fidelity pressing puts the emphasis on vocal imaging, spatial separation of the instruments, and controlled dynamics, allowing the structural subtleties of these early tracks to emerge with particular clarity.

The "Fly By Night" LP by Rush is being released on Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab and documents the band’s stylistic shift toward more complex song structures and narrative lyrics. This reissue is part of a comprehensive series of audiophile re-releases that makes the band’s early Mercury years newly available in revised form.

The album marks the first full-length with drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, which significantly changed the band’s thematic direction; Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson still provide the distinctive melodies and riffs, while Peart’s contributions sharpen the group’s lyrical profile. Producer Terry Brown, who guided the band’s sound during this phase, helped shape their characteristic sonic identity.

Musically, "Fly By Night" combines powerful hard rock elements with early progressive experiments: the anthem "Anthem" established the thematic range, the multi-part epic "By-Tor & the Snow Dog" already points toward later, more extended compositions, and the acoustic "Rivendell" demonstrates an unusual delicacy in its arrangement. Tracks such as "Making Memories" expand the palette with folk- and country-tinged elements, which is why the album is regarded as a transitional work between the band’s raw beginnings and its more ambitious prog era.

The “Astral Weeks” LP by Van Morrison was released on Rhino / Warner and presents the 1968 work in a carefully prepared edition. Van Morrison leads a tightly knit ensemble of jazz‑experienced studio musicians here: Richard Davis on double bass, Jay Berliner on acoustic guitar, and Connie Kay on drums define the rhythmic and textural foundation, while Warren Smith Jr. contributes vibraphone and percussion, joined by flute and polished string arrangements by Larry Fallon. Producer Lewis Merenstein oversaw the sessions and, together with Morrison, shaped the intimate, almost cyclical sequence of songs; tracks like “Astral Weeks,” “Madame George,” and “Cyprus Avenue” exemplify the album’s narrative density and its elusive, jazz‑inflected arrangements.

This edition has been technically reworked for the LP format and issued as a high‑quality Rhino pressing: the record comes as a 180‑gram pressing, cut by Kevin Gray, and the booklet includes new notes plus an insert with additional liner notes. Rhino / Warner present the production in a visually refined package with a glossy gatefold jacket that gives this historic recording a contemporary outer shell and documentary additions without altering the original, organic character of the performances.

The "Loving You To Death" LP by Richard is released on Stroom and presents the work as a vinyl and digital album with a deliberately stripped-back sound. At its center is the title track, which deals with the inner conflict of staying with someone who is hurting themself; Richard describes it as a snapshot—maybe of one night, maybe of a longer period—and lets this ambivalence flow into the arrangements. Before recording, he had tried stretching small, dark riffs into long, ambient-like sequences and experimenting with electronic manipulations, but then decided to keep the recordings lean and work without a band.

The LP comprises twelve tracks, including "Loving You To Death," "One For Jesse," and "Anything," and combines sing-song melodies with a certain intentional unprofessionalism as an aesthetic principle. The material was mastered by Nik Kozub; the front cover features a painting by Hoda Ackad, the back is a photograph by Ariana Molly, and the design is by Victor Verhelst. With "Loving You To Death," Stroom is releasing a record that brings together Richard’s fondness for obsessive narratives, mid-fi textures, and direct, unvarnished performances, keeping the focus on the emotional clarity of the songs.

The *Till Death & Back* LP by Against The Current is being released on Smartpunk and marks the band’s return with a new ten-track album, announced as their first full-length studio album since *Past Lives* (2018).

The album is described as the beginning of an independent chapter for the band and centers thematically on loss, struggle, and new beginnings. Its songs explore themes such as loyalty, identity, and coming to terms with existential fractures. Musically, the production combines rock-driven arrangements with catchy melodies and modern pop elements, allowing the songs to feel both direct and layered. Several tracks have been released as previews and have already attracted attention, including “Dead Man Walking” and “Heavenly,” which hint at the album’s range. From an editorial perspective, *Till Death & Back* relies on compact song structures and memorable hooks that continue the band’s development since their earlier work without merely repeating familiar formulas. Overall, the album reads as a deliberate step into a newfound artistic freedom.

The “Fever” LP by Against The Current is being released on Smartpunk and brings the 2021 release “fever” to vinyl for the first time. The release documents the EP with its seven songs, including the singles “that won’t save us” and “weapon”; the compact sequence of tracks remains in its original order, now available on LP for an analog listening experience.

Musically, “Fever” preserves the band’s direct, song-oriented approach: concise melodies meet densely layered arrangements, and individual tracks bear the distinctive touch of producer Matt Squire. The record features both driving moments and quieter passages and includes “again&again,” a collaboration that clearly stands out in the track listing. The Smartpunk edition is offered as a vinyl reissue and is aimed at collectors who want to experience the material on LP.

The “Crosby, Stills & Nash” LP by Crosby, Stills & Nash is released on Atlantic Catalog Group in a Rhino High Fidelity edition and presents the group’s debut album in a meticulously reworked presentation. The release was newly cut from the original analog tapes and mastered by Kevin Gray; the result comes as a high-quality pressing manufactured at Optimal in Germany, and is delivered in a gatefold sleeve with insert and extensive liner notes. Issued as a numbered limited edition, it also includes an additional four-page insert with texts and notes on the making of the album.

Musically, the “Crosby, Stills & Nash” LP documents the trio’s early strengths: three-part harmony vocals, memorable songwriting highlights, and tracks such as “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” “Marrakesh Express,” and “Long Time Gone,” which continue to define the work to this day. Crosby, Stills & Nash appear here as both writers and producers of the recordings, which in this edition have been brought out in rich detail to emphasize the subtleties of the arrangements and vocals. For fans of classic rock, this release on Atlantic Catalog Group represents a carefully prepared reissue of the groundbreaking debut.

The "All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend" LP by Aurora is released on Glassnote (Chord) and presents the Norwegian singer’s 2016 debut for the first time in the label’s characteristic physical format. The record includes the early singles "Runaway" and "Running with the Wolves," which significantly raised Aurora’s profile outside Norway and helped send the album to the top of the national charts. This LP presents the studio album in its entirety and makes the central songs from that early phase of Aurora’s career available on vinyl.

Musically, "All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend" combines dense, at times stripped-back arrangements with strong melodicism and a distinctive, clear vocal delivery—qualities that reviews and write-ups have repeatedly highlighted. The production creates space for the voice and the song structures, allowing tracks like "I Went Too Far" to reveal additional shades of her songwriting palette. Aurora received national awards for the album, further elevating her position on the international pop landscape.

The "Today's Minor Victories" LP by Porcelain is being released on Todo.

Porcelain from Austin weaves together influences from noise rock, post-hardcore, post-punk, and shoegaze into a dense sonic landscape. Driving, often distorted guitars meet intricate melodies; the arrangements shift between immediate heaviness and restrained, almost weightless passages. Characteristic are the interplay of the two guitar voices and the alternating vocals, which give the tracks both rough edges and singable lines.

The band lineup is documented as Ryan Fitzgibbon (guitar, vocals), Steve Pike (guitar, vocals), Jordan Emmert (bass), and Eli Deitz (drums, percussion); the sonic palette is expanded by pedal steel from Zach Wiggs and saxophone from Benton Kaufman. The record was tracked at Estuary Recording Studio, with engineering and mixing handled by Scott Evans; mastering was done by Greg Obis at Chicago Mastering Service.

Musically, the production stands out for its clear, powerful guitar walls and a nuanced sense of space and dynamics. Porcelain links raw energy with compositional precision; in doing so, the band positions itself between gritty post-hardcore and atmospheric shoegaze and stakes out a distinctive voice within the current scene.

Mr Bongo is proud to present a 10th anniversary reissue of O Terno’s contemporary Brazilian classic Melhor do Que Parece from 2016. Ranked by Rolling Stone Brazil as one of the best releases of 2016, it is a delicate blend of Tropicália-inspired, psychedelic rock and indie, rich in ‘60s and ‘70s influences, that feels as relevant and fresh now as it did 10 years ago.

O Terno is made up of three titans from the current Brazilian independent scene: Tim Bernardes on vocals and guitar, Guilherme d’Almeida on bass and Gabriel Basile on drums. Each has gone on to forge themselves as influential members in the Brazilian scene in their solo projects and collaborations with other artists since O Terno went on hiatus in 2024. Bernardes has since become a musical ambassador outside of Brazil, releasing two Latin Grammy nominated solo albums, collaborating with artists ranging from Gal Costa to Fleet Foxes, Maria Bethânia to Jards Macalé, and establishing himself among the musicians connected to the 1970s scene. Basile has worked closely with Sessa and features on records by Soyuz, anaiis, Bruno Berle and more. Both Basile and Guilherme also form part of the group Grand Bazaar, a dance-orientated outfit drawing on gypsy, Balkan, Mediterranean and Brazilian influences.

Recorded across an intense three-month period where the trio spent 12 hours a day in the studio, Melhor do Que Parece is a diverse, exploratory and kaleidoscopic listen. There are influences from classic Brazilian greats such as Os Mutantes and the beautiful string arrangements of Rogério Duprat, as well as classic ‘60s and ‘70s European and American groups from across the spectrum. Those influences are tied up in an experimental indie DIY aesthetic where distorted guitars are juxtaposed with lush string sections.

The album kicks off on a high note with the catchy single ‘Culpa’; there is an almost John Lennon texture to Tim’s vocals here. Next is the dreamy arrangement of ‘Nó’, which has a Tropicália-esque tone and features a beautiful harp intro played by Marina Mello.

A swirling psych-rock tinge runs through the record sucking you into its grasp. The crashing cymbals, blazing lead guitars and modulated vocals of ‘Não Espero Mais’ and ‘Lua Cheia’ are two fine examples. Elsewhere, there’s the deep fuzz, whirling organs and peaking horns of ‘O Orgulho E O Perdão’.

Contrasting this there are moments of reflection. The depth and delicacy of ‘Depois Que A Dor Passar’ and the ethereal heart swell of ‘Volta’ are a double dose of uplifting nourishment. Another highlight is ‘Vamos Assumir’, a song immortalised in pop culture when mentioned in Brazilian author Elayne Baeta's book Coisas óbvias sobre o amor.

The title track ‘Melhor do Que Parece’ is a grand opus, ranging from smooth angelic melodies with lush strings, to explosions of distorted guitar and horns. It’s an epic and fitting closer to this magnificent album.

There are no wasted moments on Melhor do Que Parece; it feels almost like a best-of album and is rightly viewed as a definitive work. Here at Mr Bongo we feel its greatness deserves a much wider global audience to lean in and enjoy its brilliance.

Déjà Vu — CSNY's first album as a quartet, No. 1 on the Billboard 200!

180-gram 45 RPM double LP

Mastered directly from the original master tape by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering

Pressed at Quality Record Pressings

Tip-on old style gatefold double pocket jacket with textured stock by Stoughton Printing

"Déjà Vu" is the title track to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's first album as a quartet. With Neil Young now in the mix, the album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after its release in March 1970. The album remains a high point for the supergroup, having sold more than 7 million copies. Also on the record are hit singles "Teach Your Children," "Our House," and a cover of Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock."

The late David Crosby penned "Déjà Vu" for the group. Though it wasn't released as a single, it gave that iconic album its name and has subsequently received its fair share of love from CSNY fans.

"I'm one of those people who thinks we go round again," said Crosby back in 2008. "The Buddhists have got it right. It's a wheel and we get on and get off. I think life energy gets recycled. That's why I wrote ‘Déjà Vu.'"

CSNY took a while to craft the album-which is largely considered their magnum opus. "Getting that second album out of us was like pulling teeth, there was song after song that didn't make it," Stephen Stills once said. "The track ‘Déjà Vu' must have meant 100 takes in the studio. But ‘Carry On' happened in a grand total of eight hours from conception to finished master. So you never know."

All the hallmarks of a top-notch Analogue Productions reissue are here for you to savor: Mastered directly from the original master tape by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and cut at 45 RPM. Pressed at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a tip-on old style gatefold double pocket jacket with textured stock by Stoughton Printing.

“What’s In Between” marks the first full-length by the Melbourne band and delivers eleven tracks, including the singles “Crying With You” and “Rule 31,” which had already appeared as advance releases. The production took place across several continents; the credited producers are Peter Katis, Ewan Pearson, and Finn Billingham, giving the album a dense, polished studio production. Vocalist Rachel Brown appears as a guest on the track “Big Ideas,” a richly detailed contribution that loosens up the arrangements. Radio Free Alice rely on concise song structures, melodic choruses, and clear guitar work that carries the album’s classic rock sensibility without sacrificing modern sonic finesse. Atlantic is issuing the LP in the described Cream Vinyl edition, which is offered as a standalone version alongside the standard release. The Doors and Rhino present a mix of studio recordings and striking live moments, complemented by passages in which Johnny Depp recites texts and poems by Jim Morrison. The compilation focuses on concise band moments and puts Morrison’s voice, as well as defining keyboard and guitar parts, at the center without relying exclusively on hits.

As an LP edition, “When You're Strange: Songs from the Motion Picture” offers an accessible cross-section of the band’s body of work and also functions as a musical complement to the cinematic portrayal of The Doors. Rhino has curated the selection so that both well-known tracks and documentary-style live recordings come into their own, while the production preserves the band’s characteristic sonic space. The "Growers Of Mushroom" LP by Leaf Hound is released on Universal and brings together the band’s legendary debut, first issued in the early 1970s, in a modern reissue.

Musically, the album combines blues-based hard rock roots with pronounced psychedelic and proto-metal touches; punchy guitar riffs, sparingly used keyboard textures, and rough, impassioned vocals define the sound. The songs clearly take their cues from the major rock acts of the time while still remaining distinctive in structure and mood.

Behind the sound are Pete French on vocals, Mick Halls on lead guitar, Derek Brooks (rhythm guitar), Stuart Brooks (bass), and Keith George Young on drums; the record was produced by Paul Lynton. The tracks were laid down in a short, focused session, which gives the album its immediate, slightly unpolished production.

In its lyrics and in the title itself, the band draws on quirky horror imagery — the title track, for instance, refers to an account from a horror anthology — reinforcing the dark, slightly eerie atmosphere of some pieces. Today, "Growers Of Mushroom" is regarded as an influential document of the development of British hard rock and has earned a special reputation among collectors.

Originally released in 1968, Once Upon a Twilight… is the second and final album by Australian band The Twilights. Moving beyond the hit-making formula of the period, the group created an ambitious blend of sophisticated pop and psychedelia, shaped in part by their experiences in Britain and their celebrated live performances of Sgt. Pepper. Recorded at Bill Armstrong's Melbourne studio using then-new Australian 8-track technology, the album features songwriting by Terry Britten, vocals by Glenn Shorrock, orchestral arrangements by Johnny Hawker and production by David Mackay. This first vinyl reissue sourced from the original masters faithfully reproduces the original gatefold sleeve with pop-up centrefold and includes a four-panel insert with photographs and liner notes. Annotated and remastered by Grammy-nominated archivist Alec Palao.

The “Love You More” LP by The Crystal Teardrop continues the blend of shimmering sixties sound and contemporary sharpness established by their debut, “THE CRYSTAL TEARDROP IS FORMING.” Released on Popclaw / Rise Above, the band delivers concise melodies and dense arrangements where jangly Rickenbacker guitars and surging organ layers are woven together with a clear, sustained lead vocal. Most of the tracks move in a bold, upbeat vein without shying away from lyrical darkness; themes of relationships, political statements, and existential reflection run throughout the album, giving the songs additional weight.

Characteristic moments are created by instrumental details and playful musicianship: the eruptive guitar solo in “It’s Too Late!” and the long, psychedelic stretching out on “Touch The Sun,” which raises questions about the meaning of being human, showcase the band’s range. For the production, The Crystal Teardrop opted for a deliberately immediate approach, recording live in the studio with as few overdubs as possible to capture atmosphere and performance flow. Trusted sixties-era instruments like Vox gear, Hammond, AC15 amps, and electric sitar meet more unusual sounds such as tanpura and swarmandal; this combination gives “Love You More” its warm yet stubbornly angular psychedelia and makes the album a distinctive contribution to the classic rock output of the Popclaw / Rise Above label.

The picture disc edition marking the 50th anniversary of *Tales of Mystery and Imagination – Edgar Allan Poe* by The Alan Parsons Project is being released by Cooking Vinyl. Released in 1976, the debut album combines Edgar Allan Poe’s literary works with progressive classic rock, creating a cohesive concept shaped by orchestral soundscapes, electronic accents and a dark atmosphere.

Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson developed the music as renditions of Poe’s stories and poems. Standout tracks include “The Raven,” “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Cask of Amontillado.” Arthur Brown, John Miles and Terry Sylvester contributed vocals. Musicians from Ambrosia and Pilot also participated, as did Francis Monkman, known for his work with Curved Air and Sky.

The internationally successful album sold nearly one million copies and achieved platinum status in Germany and Canada, among other countries. The anniversary edition was newly mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios and includes a 12" x 12" insert featuring the original artwork from the inside gatefold panel. Cooking Vinyl’s picture disc thus combines the debut’s literature-inspired music with a carefully prepared reissue.

The Clear Purple edition of the “Jazz Dreams” LP by Fine is released on Escho and comes as a single LP in a gatefold sleeve. The release, which comprises thirteen tracks, builds directly on her 2024 debut “Rocky Top Ballads” and leads Fine into a wide, dreamlike sound world that moves between precise melodic writing and open, improvisatory moments.

The material was produced, recorded, and mixed by Fine herself; in the credits she appears as Fine Glindvad. Emil Thomsen is responsible for the mastering. Over roughly sixteen months, the songs took shape partly in public performances, partly in studio versions and during an NTS residency, so that “Jazz Dreams” comes across as an organically grown, collage-like construction in which vocal lines connect the shifting moods.

Selected advance releases such as “I Could,” “Run,” “Moment,” and “Portal” mark stages of this development and offer insight into the balance of longing, memory, and open intuition that shapes the album. On the LP, Fine shows a consistent turn toward melody: voice and song architecture lead through fragile scenes and allow the music to follow its own instincts like a kind of jazz improvisation.

Bettie Serveert’s “Beaucoup Bad” LP is being released on Palomine and marks the Dutch band’s return ten years after “Damaged Good.” The new album builds on the group’s long history, which has been associated since the early ’90s with idiosyncratic guitar rock, catchy melodies, and a distinctive blend of directness and melancholy.

On “Beaucoup Bad,” Bettie Serveert once again focuses on rock songs that feel both accessible and unpolished. The tracks combine melancholic tension with catchy choruses and an intentionally open attitude toward a range of musical influences. The album has been described as a fresh, honest, and rough-edged mix of different styles that fits naturally into the band’s diverse body of work.

At the heart of Bettie Serveert are singer and guitarist Carol van Dyk, guitarist Peter Visser, and bassist Herman Bunskoeke. The band re-formed in Amsterdam in 1991 and established itself internationally with its debut “Palomine” as a distinctive voice in Dutch guitar rock. Palomine Records has supported the group as its own label since 2000. “Beaucoup Bad” continues this development, combining many years of experience with an intentionally direct, unoverproduced sound.

The “Thank Goodness” LP by Sean Being is a self-released record and comes with an insert. On the album, Sean Being unfolds a deliberately stripped-down, overdubbed “chamber band” setup of bass guitar, viola, piano, harpsichord, voice, and drums, developed between London and Ireland in the years 2023–26. These precisely chosen combinations of instruments give the “Thank Goodness” LP a chamber music framework that leaves room for subtle textures and dynamic nuances.

Long active at the sharper edges of the Irish music scene and initiator of the band Princ€ss, Sean Being brings to “Thank Goodness” the experience of a wide range of collaborations; connections to projects with Maria Somerville, Spellcaster, Nashpaints, Florian TM Zeizig, Jennifer Moore, Olan Monk, and others can be felt. Alongside conventional playing techniques, the album also incorporates unusual influences from Gregorian chant and sonic experiments such as car horn performances. This variety makes the “Thank Goodness” LP a personal statement in which compositional restraint and carefully crafted arrangements converge, clearly expressing Sean Being’s work as a producer and multi-instrumentalist.

The "Here Comes The Cowboy" LP by Mac DeMarco is released on Mac's Record Label and translates his familiar songwriter aesthetic into lean, often understated arrangements. The tracks are characterized by warm guitar sounds, drawn-out melodies, and a laconic vocal delivery that blends melancholic moments with wry humor.

The album was written, recorded, and co-mixed at DeMarco's own Jizz Jazz Studio in Los Angeles; he plays nearly all the instruments himself, while touring bandmate Alec Meen contributes keyboards on a few tracks. Touring sound engineer Joe Santarpia shared engineering and mixing duties with DeMarco, shaping the album's intimate yet clearly defined sound.

Tracks like "Nobody," "Heart to Heart," and "All of Our Yesterdays" shift perspective between personal reflection and ironic distance; melodically, the compositions remain light on their feet, rhythmically they are often subtle, while the arrangements are carefully balanced. The record weaves together elements of lo-fi indie rock, singer-songwriter tradition, and retro pop, revealing a compact, characteristic chapter in Mac DeMarco's body of work.

With the LP "Hippies Thugs And Heroes Indie Exclusive Black Splatter Vinyl Edition," released on New West, Richard Thompson takes his creativity to the next level while, for the most part, staying true to his style. For decades, Richard Thompson has been a mainstay between folk and rock; his songs combine narrative depth with precise guitar work and a distinctive melancholy all his own. Hallmarks of his music are the delicate, often unconventional guitar lines and his assured handling of melody and harmony, drawing on both acoustic folk traditions and rock-driven rhythms. Thompson’s lyrics are marked by keenly observed situations, subtle irony, and literary imagery, ranging thematically from personal reflections to scene-like storytelling. His arrangements are sparse, favoring clear instrumentation and giving the songs room to unfold, while a certain edge in guitar tone and rhythm remains palpable. His voice carries both a storytelling quality and a sense of introspection, creating an immediate sense of closeness for listeners. This LP edition brings together the characteristic elements of Richard Thompson’s work and offers a cohesive selection that appeals to longtime followers and new listeners alike.

The LP “Türküz Türkü Çağırırız!” by Mazhar ve Fuat was released on Yonca Müzik in 1973 and stands as one of the early examples of Turkish folk melodies being fused with Western guitar sounds and psychedelic arrangements.

The album documents Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner during a period preceding their later work with MFÖ. The tracks explicitly draw on the tradition of Turkish folk poetry, including a setting of a poem by Aşık Veysel and an adaptation of Yunus Emre, while combining acoustic guitars, organ textures, and occasional electric-guitar accents into a folk-infused rock sound. Production and arrangement contributions from figures such as Zafer Dilek also shape the album’s sonic character, which incorporates country and folk-rock influences alongside the English-language track “Upside Down,” broadening its stylistic scope. The record was rediscovered and reissued as a pioneering document of Anatolian psychedelia; early reissue projects emphasize physical editions on heavyweight vinyl as well as accompanying texts. Particularly noteworthy is the later impact of several individual tracks: “Adımız Miskindir Bizim” was sampled in productions such as Action Bronson’s “Easy Rider,” while “Sür Efem Atını” was also used by producers in a sampling context.

The “45 Volume 1” LP by XTC is being released on Panegyric as a 200 g vinyl edition and brings together the band’s A-sides from 1977 to 1980. With this compilation, Panegyric is issuing a selection of the early singles on vinyl for the first time since the early 1980s; the collection documents the band’s evolution from raw energy to refined, melodic songcraft. The physical presentation as 200 g vinyl underscores the release’s collector appeal, which is sourced from the original single audio tracks.

Musically, “45 Volume 1” offers a compact chronicle of key stand-alone singles, including “Science Friction,” “Making Plans for Nigel,” and the U.S. A-side version of “Ten Feet Tall,” complemented by the rare soundtrack recording “Take This Town.” For this edition, the singles were transferred from the original master tapes; the transfers were made at high sampling rates, and the final cuts were done by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering. This approach puts the emphasis on versions of the tracks that are as direct as possible, derived from the single masters, which, presented here in chronological order, clearly trace the development of Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding as songwriters. Panegyric is positioning the LP as the first part of a multi-volume collection of XTC’s early single releases.

The "Megatons" LP by Barbarians Of California is being released on Many Hats Dist and brings together twelve compact tracks that transfer the band’s raw, direct impulse straight onto vinyl. The arrangements are short and concise, shifting between driving staccato riffs and deliberate tempo changes, allowing the medium to underline the songs’ unvarnished character.

Barbarians Of California emerged from the collaboration of seasoned musicians; the initial impetus came from, among others, Aaron Bruno and longtime engineer Eric Stenman, giving the band both punk roots and deep studio experience. With "Megatons," they continue the trajectory of their debut release and solidify a sound that combines classic hardcore elements with contemporary bite.

Musically, the album moves within a spectrum from hardcore to metallic post-hardcore: angular guitars, distinctive breaks, and a vocal delivery that oscillates between concentrated rage and an ironic undertone. Singles like "The Gnarlycore Class" offer early points of reference; the album is also shot through with collaborations and new song ideas that give the material additional definition. Taken as a whole, "Megatons" presents a focused contribution to the current hardcore scene that clearly brings out the band’s distinctive character.

Roky Erickson’s “The Evil One” LP is released on Fire Records as a deluxe 15-track edition that fully brings together the recordings from the legendary 1978 and 1979 sessions. For the first time since 1981, this reissue restores the original cover from the San Francisco edition released by 415 Records. The album is cut across two LPs at 45 rpm and comes with an extensive booklet featuring an essay by Joe Nick Patoski, along with rare photographs and archival material from the collection of Roky’s then-manager, Craig Luckin.

Musically, “The Evil One” documents Roky Erickson and the Aliens in a characteristic interplay of raw rock energy, sharply defined guitar riffs, and horror and science-fiction themes. Producer Stu Cook brought the session recordings together, helping shape the distinctive sound of this material. Standout tracks include “Two Headed Dog (Red Temple Prayer)” and “I Walked With A Zombie,” which highlight Erickson’s unmistakable voice and surreal imagery. The Fire edition presents this chapter of his career in a focused format and with a clear sonic direction across its 45-rpm 2LP configuration.

Singer-songwriter Willis Alan Ramsey was 20 years old when he became the third signing to Leon Russell and Denny Cordell's Shelter Records – after Russell himself and the legendary J.J. Cale. The result was Ramsey's 1972 eponymous debut, a masterpiece of laid-back Texas country-rock, blues-inflected folk and outlaw ballads.

As a child, Ramsey was an obsessive radio listener – from Elvis and the Beatles to Delta blues, country and even classical music. By middle school, he had formed his first garage band and started writing songs. After a brief stint at the University of Texas, he took to the burgeoning coffeehouse circuit where he toured alongside folks like Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker and Keith Sykes. It was during these shows that Ramsey developed much of the material for his LP, a diverse yet coherent mix that revealed his varied influences.

Recorded in Memphis, Nashville and at Russell's home studio in the Hollywood Hills, the album features some of the era's greatest session musicians: Eddie Hinton on guitar, Red Rhodes on pedal steel and the rhythm section of Leland Sklar and Jim Keltner. A true songwriter's songwriter album, its tunes have been covered by Waylon Jennings ("Satin Sheets"), Jimmy Buffett ("The Ballad of Spider John") and, most famously, Captain & Tennille ("Muskrat Love"), but no cover can beat the originals from the wise-beyond-his-years Ramsey.

Though Willis Alan Ramsey has continued to perform regularly and write new songs, a second album is yet to be released. For years, whenever someone asked about it, Ramsey was known to answer "What's wrong with the first one?" The answer is, of course, absolutely nothing. In fact, it's perfect.

This first-time vinyl reissue reproduces the original lyric sheet. Includes new interview with Ramsey and liner notes by author Richie Unterberger.

The “Pure” LP by Pendragon is released on Pendragon - Toff and documents the band’s 2008 phase, in which they steered their sound in a distinctly more modern rock direction without abandoning their characteristic melodicism. On this release, Pendragon combine dense guitar arrangements with striking melodies, which earned the record wide recognition at the time.

“Pure” features “Indigo,” one of the album’s most popular songs, as well as the three-part suite “Comatose” and the hard-hitting “Eraserhead,” which together showcase the work’s stylistic range. All compositions are by Nick Barrett; Barrett and Karl Groom were responsible for the production. Clive Nolan (keyboards), Peter Gee (bass), and Scott Higham (drums) shape the overall sound and create the dense, at times metallic texture of the album.

As an LP on Pendragon - Toff, “Pure” brings the intensity and dynamics of the recordings to life in analog format. Pendragon will be on a European tour in fall 2026 and will return to the Cruise To The Edge stage in April 2027, underscoring the lasting relevance of this chapter in their discography.

In 2008, the music press responded to “Pure” with mostly positive reviews; reader polls and critiques particularly highlighted the balance between melodic songwriting and heavier guitar work, which allowed the album to reach both long-time followers and new listeners from the metal scene.

The “Caspian” LP by Caspian is being released on Wax Bodega and marks the band’s first album in six years as well as their debut for the US label. The release contains six tracks with a running time of around 39 minutes; the album is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026, and will be available for pre-order through the label’s distribution. Wax Bodega is positioning the record as a key new title in its fall program and is accompanying the announcement with information on individual song excerpts and the available formats.

Musically, “Caspian” builds on the richly textured, dynamic gestures that have defined the collective: wide melodic arcs, dense guitar layers, and dramatic crescendos that unfold through patient arrangements. Standouts include the expansive, nine-minute composition “Remain,” with its slowly mounting tension, as well as the driving “No One Left to Tell” and the powerful “A Great Fire,” which exemplify the balance between atmosphere and impact. From a production standpoint, the album is closely tied to the band itself; the production emphasizes spatial depth and textural detail without sacrificing structural clarity. For fans of the band, the “Caspian” LP offers a focused yet forward-looking perspective on Caspian’s work and adds a prominently placed release to the Wax Bodega catalog.

The “Music For The Airport” gatefold double LP compilation is released on Aloha Got Soul and brings together 17 original recordings by artists from Hawai‘i, assembled as a direct response to the AI-generated pieces that have been played at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport since November 2025.

Drawing on recordings from the period 1984 to 2017, it spans, style-wise, a range from soul through Hawaiian and jazz to rock and R&B. The selection emphasizes craft-driven songs from the so-called CD era, which Aloha Got Soul presents as an authentic counterpoint to machine-made muzak. The release comes as a gatefold double LP and includes liner notes.

Conceptually, the compilation refers directly to Brian Eno’s question about appropriate music for airports and positions itself as a cultural response: instead of anonymously generated soundscapes, it foregrounds human voices, regional identity, and fair compensation for artists. The project emerged quickly from the label’s catalog of records, yet remained thematically deeply rooted in the relationships with the participating artists.

As a release by the Honolulu-based label, this compilation marks a moment of defending local culture and of heightened awareness of the economic impact of AI in the field of music. It invites listeners to once again experience the sound of Hawai‘i as something made audible by human hands.

The "Tomorrow's World" LP by N8noface is being released on Stones Throw and marks the artist’s Stones Throw debut. The album was produced entirely by Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Weezer), who fuses raw synth aesthetics with driving punk energy. On the full-length, N8noface works with a number of notable guest contributors; the album features collaborations with Hudson Mohawke, Angélica Garcia, and Nick Zinner, who enrich individual tracks with distinctive textures and additional melodic lines.

Musically, "Tomorrow's World" explores the intersection of synth-punk and darkwave, combining fast, catchy song structures with dense electronic production. The track "I Hope It’s Ok" was released as an advance single with a visual component; the accompanying video was created in collaboration with Eyedress. The album title refers to the British TV show of the same name and reflects the idea of what early technological utopias might sound like in a punk-oriented present. Stones Throw is issuing the LP in physical form; in addition, the release is available digitally, making Dave Sitek’s production and the guest contributions accessible across multiple formats.

The "Wildlife" LP by La Dispute is released by Many Hats Dist and presents the band’s second studio album in a durable vinyl pressing. The record offers 14 tracks and runs for nearly an hour, with the structure of the songs leaving room for extended narrative passages and dense musical build-ups.

Musically, La Dispute weave their post-hardcore roots together with literary-influenced lyrics and a theatrical yet direct vocal delivery; Jordan Dreyer’s voice often functions more as a spoken recitation than as a conventional carrier of choruses. The arrangements shift between driving guitars, precise drum patterns, and restrained, atmospheric passages, giving the record both narrative tension and emotional impact.

The recordings took place in multiple studios and were largely overseen by the band itself; the engineering teams around Andrew Everding and Joe Pedulla were responsible for capturing the raw, unvarnished sound. Characteristic of the recording process was the focused approach to the vocals and the deliberate avoidance of artificial reverb coloration in order to preserve the immediacy of the performance. These production choices emphasize the narrative density and sonic clarity of this defining album.

Announced as an eleven-track work, the LP is coming as a physical release via Artist Theory and compiles previously released singles like “Drive” and “Bite Back” together with new material. The album is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026.

Songwriting and production were developed in close collaboration with Jamie Rendle; many tracks were co-written with bandmate Finn Marlow. The songs range from concise, melodic pieces to dense arrangements that focus on personal lyrics about growing up, identity, and relationship dynamics. “Standing On A Pane Of Glass” was released as an advance track and highlights the combination of immediate hooks and carefully layered guitar textures.

On the LP, Nieve Ella relies on striking melodies, a clear vocal line, and carefully placed guitar parts that recall the guitar aesthetics of the 1990s without falling back on conventional templates. Jamie Rendle’s production emphasizes dynamics and intimacy, keeping Nieve Ella’s voice consistently at the center. With “How Long Will It Take,” Nieve Ella delivers a cohesive debut that makes the multilayered nature of her songs audible on Artist Theory.

The "Evaluations Black Vinyl Edition" by The 2nd Coming brings a long-lost document of the evolution of American psychedelic and Southern rock to vinyl and is released on Guerssen. The LP compiles recordings originally tracked in April 1969 at Sound Laboratory in Jacksonville, which were only rediscovered and restored decades later from the original tapes.

The 2nd Coming emerged from the Floridian psych scene of the late 1960s; the lineup on these recordings features Larry Reinhardt on guitar, Reese Wynans on organ, and Richard “Hombre” Price on bass, joined by Monty Young and John Meeks on drums. Reinhardt would later gain recognition with Iron Butterfly and Captain Beyond, Wynans went on to work with, among others, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa, and Price is documented as an in-demand session musician.

The release is sourced from the original tapes and newly prepared for LP; the artwork is by Fez Moreno, and the included booklet contains liner notes by Richard “Hombre” Price. The set mixes original material with a medley take on "For What It's Worth/Season Of The Witch" and adds instrumental and live bonus tracks such as "Funk in 5/4" and an extended live version of "Shoot That Load Boogie."

Musically, "Evaluations" combines heavy, riff-driven psychedelia with organic jam passages and dual drumming, positioning the record as a link between hard blues rock and early Southern jam and offering listeners revealing insights into the formative period of this style.

Buffalo Springfield's second album

Featuring "Bluebird," "Rock & Roll Woman" and "Expecting to Fly"

180-gram 45 RPM double LP

Mastered directly from the original master tape by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering

Pressed at Quality Record Pressings

Tip-on old style gatefold double pocket jackets with film lamination by Stoughton Printing

Due in part to personnel problems which saw Bruce Palmer and Neil Young in and out of the group, Buffalo Springfield's second album did not have as unified an approach as their debut, writes AllMusic.

Still, the group continued to make major strides in both their songwriting and arranging, and this record stands as the band's greatest triumph, peaking at No. 44 on the Billboard Top LPs chart. As of 2012 the album was No. 188 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Stephen Stills' "Bluebird" and "Rock & Roll Woman" were masterful folk-rockers that should have been big hits (although they did manage to become small ones); his lesser-known contributions "Hung Upside Down" and the jazz-flavored "Everydays" were also first-rate. Young contributed the Rolling Stones-derived "Mr. Soul," as well as the brilliant "Expecting to Fly" and "Broken Arrow," both of which employed lush psychedelic textures and brooding, surrealistic lyrics that stretched rock conventions to their breaking point.

Richie Furay (who had not written any of the songs on the debut) takes tentative songwriting steps with three compositions, although only "A Child's Claim to Fame," with its memorable dobro hooks by James Burton, meets the standards of the material by Stills and Young; the cut also anticipates the country-rock direction of Furay's post-Springfield band, Poco.

Analogue Production's reissue skill makes this record sound killer. Mastered from the original tape by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Double LP cut at 45 RPM, pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a Stoughton Printing tip-on old style gatefold jacket. That's how you upgrade a classic.

Sivert Høyem’s “The Rest Of Sivert Høyem” LP is released on Warner Music and comes as a gatefold double LP. The release expands the previously issued compendium of his best-known songs with a collection of previously unreleased recordings, bringing lesser-known facets of his career into focus.

Across two record sides, the selection comprises 18 tracks that combine studio fragments, live recordings and covers of songs by other artists. Alongside his own demos and outtakes, the collection offers surprising cover takes such as “Tougher Than The Rest” and “I’m On Fire,” directing attention to Høyem’s distinctive voice and the stripped-back instrumentation, often brightened by dramatic touches. Musically, “The Rest Of Sivert Høyem” moves within the realm of classic rock: quiet, guitar-driven arrangements alternate with sparse orchestral or piano colors, bringing ballad-like passages and more rocking moments into close proximity. For fans, the double LP delivers a compact yet intimate compendium of rarities from two decades of creative work, highlighting Høyem’s vocals as the unifying element more clearly than any production gimmickry. With this release, Warner Music takes a clear step toward a retrospective addition to his solo work.

Superfan serves as the compositional veil of Flanagan, a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist whose work is presented here for the first time outside the record deal he signed already in his teens. The record marks both a personal and ambitious step away from the debut “Tow Truck Jesus” toward a more open sonic vision.

At the core of “My Piledriver Heart” is Flanagan’s self-developed “Acousticello” concept: a low-tuned acoustic guitar meets elaborated cello arrangements by Omeed Almassi and experimental, Eastern-influenced melodies, produced and largely recorded live with Hudson Pollock. The productions balance chamber music intimacy with pop-rock immediacy and revolve around heartbreak, self-determination, and a hopeful melancholy that Flanagan describes as weighing “being (myself) versus becoming myself.”

Musically, the release is heralded by previously issued singles such as “Apeiron (Fantasy Football),” “Miss W Jones,” and “Picture of Return.” Flanagan’s range also shows in live contexts: following the debut, he opened for The Strokes at Red Rocks, is deeply rooted in the New York DIY scene, and is active in the up-and-coming emo band Holidays in United States. The “My Piledriver Heart” LP on AD 93 brings these developments together into a clear, forward-looking album.

Psychic Reader announces Bad Shock: the first-ever reissue of 1970s Indonesian hard-rock trio SAS Group. Bad Shock is a compilation album featuring songs from SAS Group’s highly collectible first LP—a copy of which fetched $4,000 on Discogs back in June—as well as the band’s later hits. The first press was a limited 200-vinyl run that sold out two months after its February release. Composed of Arthur Kaunang (bass, keyboard, vocals), Soenatha Tanjung (guitar, vocals), and Syech Abidin (drums, vocals), SAS Group formed in Surabaya, Indonesia in 1975. SAS was the spiritual continuation of legendary rock band AKA, which featured the same personnel in addition to frontman Ucok Harahap. Harahap left AKA in the mid ‘70s to start his solo career, and SAS was formed. By 1991 SAS had produced 15 full-length albums and two compilation albums. Bad Shock focuses on their 1976-1981 output, delivering sprawling, prog-influenced hard rock laced with dueling synth and guitar solos. Almost every track is sung in English and holds its own against the best Western rock of the era. But “Jika Nanti Kau Panggil Namaku,” a mellow love ballad sprinkled with disco accents, closes the album on an unexpectedly sweet note.

The "Bang Bang" LP by Dispatch is released on Bomber and brings together the songs with which the band sharpened its early identity as a self-contained indie-roots project. The record includes both studio and live recordings and presents the band’s early lineup in a sound that oscillates between acoustic songwriting and rhythm-driven arrangements.

Musically, the album moves in a tension field between folk-tinged melodies, reggae-influenced rhythms, and an open jam aesthetic; distinctive vocal harmonies and alternating lead vocals are characteristic of Dispatch’s style. Tracks like "Here We Go," "Bang Bang," and the band version of "The General" exemplify the blend of narrative lyrics, catchy choruses, and occasional excursions into driving groove passages. This mix makes the release an early document of the band’s musical direction.

The recordings were made at LakeWest Recording Studio in West Greenwich, Rhode Island; the album was produced jointly by Dispatch and Jack (John Paul) Gauthier, who also handled the mix. Mastering credits go to John Mailloux, and a later remastered version was completed in 2004 by Seth Foster. These production details help explain why many tracks retain an immediate, hand-made sonic aesthetic that clearly reveals the throughline of their early work.

Lazaar Vanderschrick’s “Salut” 7-inch, released by Stroom, delivers a concise statement across two compact tracks. The A- and B-sides feature the titles “Faux Masques” and “Mauvaise Foi,” which combine dense arrangements and clear melodic lines within their brief running times without getting lost in superfluous ornamentation. Released by Stroom, the 7-inch relies on direct song structures and pared-back yet effective production that places Lazaar Vanderschrick’s voice and compositional direction at the center.

Behind the pseudonym is Victor De Roo, who returns to Stroom for “Salut” and presents the release as part of a larger artistic project: “Mauvaise foi (Feat. Iwza)” also serves as the single accompanying his literary debut, “Heil.” De Roo’s versatility as a producer, DJ, performer, and author is reflected in the track selection and the release’s theatrical density, which explores both narrative and musical tensions. The connection between the song and its accompanying writing project gives the “Salut” 7-inch an additional dimensional layer, further sharpening interest in Lazaar Vanderschrick as both a storyteller and a musician.

The “Brain Capers” LP by Mott The Hoople is being released on Rhino and is offered as part of the Rhino Reserve releases within the Rocktober campaign, placing the album in the label’s line of reissued classics. This release presents the band’s original work in an edition that makes the album available on LP and brings “Brain Capers” back into focus.

Musically, “Brain Capers” captures the moment when Ian Hunter emerges more clearly as a songwriter; originally released in 1971, the record combines driving rock tracks with expansive, multi-layered arrangements. Producer Guy Stevens was responsible for the rough, impulsive sound that shapes standouts like “Death May Be Your Santa Claus” and the epic “The Journey,” pushing the band into tougher, more immediate territory. Alongside Hunter’s own compositions, the LP also features interpretive turns and tight band performances that expand Mott The Hoople’s early catalog and confirm the album’s status as the group’s fourth studio release.

A vinyl-only double album documenting Jon Savage's personal view of 1976, the year in which punk finally broke through. The selection moves from Roxy Music, Burning Spear and Max Romeo through outsider funk, reggae and disco to Ramones, The Runaways, Blondie, The Saints, The Damned, Pere Ubu and Buzzcocks. The compilation follows roughly chronological UK single release dates and deliberately reaches beyond a straightforward pre-punk narrative, mixing punk's emerging energy with reggae, funk, disco and mainstream records that defined Savage's experience of the year. The "Year Of The Cat" LP by Al Stewart is released on Rhino and documents the album that brought the songwriter his commercial breakthrough.

Musically, the work combines narrative folk with sophisticated soft‑rock arrangements; the tracks function as small literary scenes, carried by warm string passages and subtly rock‑oriented instrumentation.

Production was handled by Alan Parsons, whose technical precision gives the recordings clear, spacious soundscapes. The title track was written in collaboration with pianist Peter Wood; Tim Renwick contributed the distinctive guitar parts, while Phil Kenzie recorded the striking saxophone solos — reportedly captured at Abbey Road in just one or two takes.

Also characteristic of this release are the orchestral arrangements by Andrew Powell, as well as the carefully placed backing vocals and instrumental details that give the album its balance between narrative songwriting and studio‑fine production. This LP condenses Al Stewart’s characteristic sound into a compact form focused on the essentials.

The "I Love Rock 'N Roll" LP by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts was released on Seeker Music and presents the album that definitively established Joan Jett as a solo artist with a permanent band lineup. The record includes the title hit, a cover of the Arrows’ song that quickly became the artist’s signature and brought her commercial breakthrough.

Musically, the album sits in the realm of powerful hard rock with clear roots in punk: distinctive riff work, tight song structures, and direct, no-frills vocals shape the sound. Alongside original compositions, there are several covers of well-known tracks that Joan Jett reimagined with a gritty attitude. The recording was produced by Kenny Laguna and Ritchie Cordell; the production emphasizes clear drums, punchy bass lines, and guitar-driven arrangements.

The band lineup marks the beginning of the Blackhearts era: Joan Jett handles lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Ricky Byrd takes over lead guitar, Gary Ryan plays bass, and Lee Crystal is on drums; the ensemble is augmented by guest contributions such as Eric Ambel on select tracks. The album was recorded at studios on Long Island and in New York, giving the recordings an immediate, band-centered live quality.

The “Groover's Paradise” LP by Doug Sahm is released on Rhino and brings together a collection of tracks that showcase Sahm’s blend of Texas rock, country, R&B, and Tex-Mex. The recording dates from the period of his early‑1970s work and features musical contributions from Doug Clifford as producer and drummer, as well as Stu Cook on bass and guitar; Link Davis Jr. stands out on the album for his turns on fiddle, saxophones, and keyboards.

Musically, “Groover's Paradise” ranges from laid‑back grooves like “Just Groove Me” through the reflective ballad “Beautiful Texas Sunshine” to the instrumental Tex‑Mex tune “La Cacahuata,” the only song not written by Sahm. The arrangements draw on a warm brass foundation, selective steel and Dobro shadings, and perfectly attuned harmony vocals that give the songs clear contours without overwhelming the unforced character of the performances. With the longer closing piece “Catch Me in the Morning,” the LP offers a winding‑down moment that distills the atmosphere of the entire album and clearly brings out Doug Sahm’s distinctive way of connecting different strands of American music.

The “Runt” LP by Todd Rundgren is being released on Rhino as part of the Rhino Reserve/Rocktober program; this reissue brings Rundgren’s 1970 debut album back to vinyl and puts the songwriter’s early song ideas front and center. On the album, Rundgren appears as vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, already applying the production approaches that would later define his career. The edition follows the single-LP concept Rhino announced for the series and offers a focused presentation of material that seeks a balance between straight-ahead rock and sophisticated arrangements.

Musically, “Runt” includes the pop single hit “We Gotta Get You a Woman” as well as tracks like “Believe In Me” and the multi-part suite “Baby, Let’s Swing/The Last Thing You Said/Don’t Tie My Hands,” which is often cited as a central moment of the album. The production emphasizes clear melodies and experimental studio effects, with Rundgren’s voice and layered instrumentation shaping the songs. Rhino’s edition of the “Runt” LP is aimed at listeners who want to trace Rundgren’s early songcraft and condenses this early chapter of his work into a compact, editorially curated release.

The *Eliminator* LP by ZZ Top is released by Rhino and presents the album that gave the band a new pop sensibility without sacrificing Billy Gibbons's distinctive guitar work. The release features the defining singles “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” and “Legs,” which played a major role in the album’s lasting popularity and, with their accompanying music videos, attracted widespread attention. Rhino positions the record as a central chapter in the band’s discography and clearly emphasizes the connection between well-honed song structures and catchy hooks.

Produced by Bill Ham with key contributions from engineer Terry Manning, the album’s sound combines traditional blues rock elements with precise, contemporary studio arrangements; many arrangements were reworked in the studio and enhanced with electronic rhythms and synthesizer textures. The *Eliminator* LP thus documents a stylistic shift that opened ZZ Top up to new audiences and cemented the band’s media presence through striking videos and radio-friendly singles. Rhino accompanies the release with editorial background texts that highlight the studio production process and the memorable compositions.

The "Captain Marryat" LP by Captain Marryat is being released on Guerssen, reissuing the long-lost, privately pressed debut from the Glasgow band. This release makes a piece of Scottish progressive hard rock history accessible, originally issued in 1974 in an extremely small run on the band’s own Thor label.

The band formed in the early 1970s, expanding from a trio into a five-piece lineup featuring Tommy Hendry (vocals), Ian McEleny (guitar), Allan Bryce (organ), Hugh Finnegan (bass), and Jimmy Rorrison (drums). Initially in the studio to cut a single, the group used spare time to record five original compositions and rounded off the session with the improvised instrumental “Dance Of Thor.”

Musically, the album combines progressive rock and heavy psych with pronounced Hammond drive, raw guitar solos, and distinctly melodic vocals. The band clearly draws on the vocabulary of Deep Purple and Uriah Heep; impressive examples include the dramatic opener “Blindness,” the eight-minute epic “It Happened To Me,” and the more accessible track “Changes.”

Despite strong performances on the Scottish pub circuit, a lack of label interest led to the breakup in 1975; since then the album has achieved cult status and is regarded among collectors and fans of early‑70s prog heavyweights as a coveted document. Recommended for fans of Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Beggars Opera, and Rare Bird.

The album includes adaptations of compositions by Mountain, Judee Sill, Moby Grape, Fairport Convention, Todd Rundgren and Scott Walker, among others. The lead single is “Silver Paper,” featuring guest vocals by Chris Robinson, while “30 Century Man” features Ty Segall on vocals and guitar. Howlin Rain relies on tight band arrangements: Ethan Miller (vocals, guitar) is joined by Jonny Niemann on keyboards, Justin Smith on drums, Jason Soda on electric guitar and Kyre Wilcox on bass; David Nance contributes vocals on one track.

Musically, “Watermelon” ranges from grooving chug and blown-out fuzz to extended, cosmic passages that combine the band’s classic rock roots with psychedelic nuances. The recordings were made at Palomino Sound, with Eric Ruscinski and Jason Soda serving as engineers; Jason Soda handled the mixing, while Tim Green mastered the album at Louder Studios. The cover art is by Francesco Malacrea, with the layout and design by Arik Roper and Ethan Miller. “Watermelon” will be released as an LP on Silver Current on November 13, 2026.

The Peter Hammill's debut solo album was released in 1971 while he was still a member of Van der Graaf Generator. It features a more accessible, song-oriented approach than his later solo work, blending progressive rock, art rock, folk and baroque-pop influences. Recorded with contributions from fellow Van der Graaf members Hugh Banton, Guy Evans and David Jackson, as well as Robert Fripp on guitar, the album alternates intimate, introspective songs with darker and more dramatic compositions, showcasing Hammill's distinctive voice and poetic lyrics. Fool's Mate captures Hammill at the transition between traditional singer-songwriter material and the more experimental, theatrical and uncompromising style that would define his later work. The release brings together well-known cuts such as “No End in Sight,” “Make It Now,” and the single “Suck You Dry,” and offers the concise running time of the original version, supplemented by remastered versions of the individual tracks.

The recordings were overseen by Conrad Uno; the production relies on direct, stripped-down arrangements and preserves the band’s gritty core character. Musically, the album works with lean, powerful riffs, targeted bursts of noise elements, and prominent lead lines, with the wah-wah-laden guitar in “Make It Now” standing out as a striking detail. Even upon its initial release, the record drew attention for its blend of aggressive energy and compact song forms, a balance that is preserved in this remastered edition.

Individual tracks such as “Suck You Dry” and the live-documented “Ghost” are cited as exemplary moments and convey an impression of the band’s dynamics between punk directness and expansive rock. The "Rock Of Joy" LP by The Mannheim Rock Ensemble was released on Nippon Columbia and brings together unusual rock arrangements of classical melodies, marking the album as a curious intersection between classical music and psychedelic rock aesthetics.

The program on the "Rock Of Joy" LP transforms familiar templates such as "Für Elise" and the "Hungarian Dances" into dense, distortion‑laden instrumentation; particularly striking are Hammond organ textures and assertive guitar sounds that transpose the orchestral material into energetic rock formations. The arrangements rely on tightly layered riffs and driving grooves, casting the melodies in a new harmonic light without obscuring the recognizable origins of the pieces.

Originally released in the early 1970s, "Rock Of Joy" as a Nippon Columbia release has attracted collector interest over time and later saw reissues of the material; the label’s edition once again makes the ensemble’s approach—part experimental, part accessible—available. For listeners seeking unusual overlaps between classical repertoire and gritty rock instrumentation, the "Rock Of Joy" LP by The Mannheim Rock Ensemble on Nippon Columbia offers a distinctly individual chapter.

The *Roaring Silence* LP by Manfred Mann's Earth Band is released on Creature Music and brings together the most distinctive tracks from that phase of the band’s history. The record features the world-famous hit “Blinded By The Light,” the extended “Singing The Dolphin Through,” as well as “The Road To Babylon” and “This Side Of Paradise,” which together make the album a compact testament to the late 1970s. The selection of tracks includes both the single edit of “Blinded By The Light” and longer album versions, making this release appeal both to collectors and to listeners who value complete sequences.

Musically, the release documents the arrival of Chris Hamlet Thompson as vocalist and highlights Manfred Mann’s fondness for adapted melodies: “Questions” is based on a theme by Franz Schubert, “Starbird” draws on motifs from Stravinsky’s *Firebird*, and “Blinded By The Light” remains the striking Springsteen adaptation that gave the record its commercial breakthrough. The arrangements put Mann’s keyboard work front and center, complemented by incisive guitar and horn parts that give the songs clear contours. This reissue on Creature Music offers a clean presentation of a key album in the classic rock scene.

The *Exodus* LP by Utada is released on Universal Music Japan and brings together the English-language work the artist released under the mononym Utada. The record represents a deliberate break with common pop formulas, favoring dense, production-open arrangements that put the focus on sound design and groove.

Musically, *Exodus* connects electronic pop, R&B, and club-oriented elements: driving beat structures meet melodic vocal lines and finely tuned effects processing. Tracks like “Devil Inside” and “Easy Breezy” showcase a range that runs from propulsive house elements to more playful R&B moments, making the record an experimental contribution beyond conventional chart pop frameworks.

The production features Utada herself as well as renowned collaborators, including Timbaland and Danja, who lend the album distinctive rhythmic impulses and modern sound textures. The involvement of external producers complements Utada’s own compositional work and underscores the transatlantic approach of the project.

As an LP, *Exodus* presents the intricate arrangements and the artist’s voice in a format that gives space to the production details; the edition on Universal Music Japan thus offers an audio document of this stylistically versatile chapter in Utada’s body of work.

The Bootleg LP by The Garden is released on Epitaph; the record collects 14 tracks recorded in Los Angeles and self-produced by Wyatt and Fletcher Shears. The release translates the band’s stripped-down instrumentation into a clear, direct sound, highlighting both raw bass-and-drum structures and unexpected electronic textures.

The Garden, founded by twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears, have pursued a singular approach from the very beginning, which they like to call “Vada Vada”; this aesthetic stance is evident on Bootleg in the fusion of an experimental mindset with punk directness. Compact song forms alternate with more open passages, causing the record to oscillate stylistically between art-punk, lo-fi experimentation, and harsh rock elements.

Tracks such as “Ugly,” “Pin Drop,” “Bootleg,” and “Duck and Cover” illustrate the album’s range: at times forceful and abrasive, at others enigmatic and atmospheric. The self-produced approach lends the arrangements an immediate intensity and lets the brothers’ distinctive signature come through unfiltered. For fans of their incisive, unconventional sound, Bootleg marks a consistent continuation of their work.

The “Nad” LP by Basma and Temir Alcy is released on Stroom and, within a classic rock idiom, unfolds a precise, emotionally rendered exploration of loss and the slow return to life. The album doesn’t seek quick consolation, but instead traces subtle transitions between pain and gentle processing.

On “Nad,” Basma and Temir Alcy guide listeners through a sequence of vulnerable scenes: the fragile moments after the death of a beloved friend, the attempt to stitch a broken love back together, and the sudden shock that seems to drain the inside. Fear pulses, the body carries memories that are too heavy, yet little by little the darkness loosens. Breath returns, help appears in unexpected places, and memories surface in a hypnotic whisper that points the way back to softness and hope. This is no report of instant healing, but rather a tender awakening: the past is worked through, the self is reclaimed, and loving learns a different form. The release on Stroom leaves room for silence and concentrated moments; melancholy and emerging confidence alternate.

With “Nad,” Basma and Temir Alcy create space for resonance and hope; the pieces unfold gently and leave lasting impressions. Intimate and at the same time universally resonant, the album feels fragile and alive.

The “Fenceline” LP by Mildred is released on Dog Day x Memorials of Distinction and presents the Oakland four-piece’s debut as a focused collection of collaboratively written songs. Across the album, Henry Easton Koehler, Jack Schrott, Matthew Palmquist, and Will Fortna share songwriting and vocals equally, recorded under the direction of Luke Temple, with additional recording by Will Fortna and one track, “Fish Sticks,” newly re-tracked in Bristol with Jack Ogborne. Production is handled by Will Fortna, with mastering by Jason Mitchell.

Musically, “Fenceline” leans on concise guitar lines, layered vocals, and a relaxed yet clearly structured song sequence; tracks like “UPS Brown,” “Fish Sticks,” “Charlie,” and the expansive “Mumblecore Melody” showcase a range that runs from laid-back groove to compositional finesse. “Hardcore Of Beauty” serves as a powerful closer with its dynamic build-ups, while “Pitch Boats” and “Aquinas” highlight the group’s melodic breadth. The “Fenceline” LP presents Mildred as a collective whose refrains and arrangements benefit from an immediate, in-the-room recording atmosphere, bringing the material together with a distinct, unified touch.

The Silver Vinyl edition of the Pain of Truth LP by Pain of Truth is released on Daze, bringing the Long Island hardcore band’s self-titled second album to vinyl. The release compiles eleven songs that capture the band’s raw yet meticulously crafted sound; the artwork/layout is by Ridge Rhine, and each copy includes a 24"x36" poster.

Pain of Truth combine old-school hardcore influences with a contemporary attitude: abrasive vocals, tight gang chants, and riffs that swing from dirty grooves to electrifying climaxes. The drumming drives the songs with propulsive, sharply defined beats that supply the necessary impact in the mosh sections, while the lyrics draw on confrontation, resistance, and personal rejection. This interplay of intensity and precise composition is a defining trait of their style.

The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Grammy-winning producer Will Putney, whose signature touch audibly tightens and amplifies the sound. The record follows the band’s clear, straight-to-the-point approach and consistently pushes Pain of Truth’s musical evolution forward.

15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF OCEANSIZE’S 2010 EPIC BLACK VINYL 3LP PRESENTED IN GATEFOLD PACKAGING, INCLUDES 6 BONUS TRACKS & AROUND 30 MINUTES OF PREVIOUSLY UNHEARD MATERIAL

“A band that never repeated themselves, yet always sounded like nobody else.” Prog Magazine

Originally released in 2010, ‘Self-Preserved While the Bodies Float Up’ marked both a culmination & a parting shot - the fourth & final full-length from Oceansize, a band widely regarded as one of the most innovative & uncompromising acts in modern British rock. Now, fifteen years on, this definitive 3LP edition casts fresh light on the landmark album.

Painstakingly remastered & presented across three black vinyl LPs, this anniversary edition includes around 30 minutes of previously unheard material - six bonus tracks, three of which feature newly recorded vocals by Mike Vennart, offering a rare glimpse into alternate futures that never came to pass. Far from studio offcuts, these are fully-formed works, some of which now sound eerily prophetic.

Self-produced & fiercely unfiltered, ‘Self Preserved…’ was Oceansize at their most direct. From the lurching menace of “Build Us A Rocket Then...” to the ethereal drift of “Pine,” the album pushes extremes in both aggression & atmosphere. Alongside core members Mike Vennart, Gambler, Steve Durose, Mark Heron & Steve Hodson, the record features guest vocals from Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) & the haunting presence of Claire Lemmon (Sidi Bou Said, ex-Cardiacs).

This 15-year anniversary edition of ‘Self-Preserved While The Bodies Float Up’ is presented as a gatefold package with 3 black vinyl LPs. Includes newly remastered audio & six bonus tracks, three of which with newly recorded vocals by Mike Vennart.

Jay Som’s “Belong” LP is released on Polyvinyl and marks Melina Duterte’s return to her longtime music project. After six years without a new album, “Belong” combines punchy power-pop moments with reverb-soaked ballads, electronic details, and big, anthemic choruses.

Duterte wrote, composed, performed, produced, recorded, and mixed the album herself, while opening up the creative process more than on previous Jay Som releases. Joao Gonzalez of Soft Glas, Mal Hauser, Steph Marziano, and Kyle Pulley contributed to the production and development. As a result, “Belong” sounds both personal and expansive: guitars, synthesizers, drum machines, and carefully layered soundscapes intertwine without sacrificing the directness of the song structures.

Jay Som also takes new vocal directions. “Cards On The Table” opens the album with electronic pop and harmonies from Lexi Vega, while Jim Adkins appears as a guest vocalist on “Float” and Hayley Williams on “Past Lives.” “Past Lives” in particular combines an angular rock impulse with a melancholic arc; “What You Need,” co-written with Gonzalez, thrives on buoyant rhythms, bright guitars, and distorted synthesizers. “Belong” thus presents Jay Som as a polished indie-rock production in which Melina Duterte’s work as both a songwriter and producer remains equally prominent.

This reissue is sourced from the surviving original ¼-inch master tapes and restores the stereo separation compromised on the original 1968 pressing. Musically, the album combines folk, classical, rock and West Coast psychedelia with fuzzy guitar, introspective songwriting and adventurous keyboard arrangements. The clear vinyl edition of the “Them Vs You Vs Me” LP by Finger Eleven was released on Artist Friendly Co. and brings the album, originally issued in 2007, back in a listenable new pressing. The release includes the well-known crossover single material around “Paralyzer,” as well as other tracks that shift between rock-driven guitars and funky, rhythmic interludes; this balance between heavier riffs and danceable grooves defines the character of the album.

Musically, beyond the radio-friendly “Paralyzer,” the record offers quieter moments like “I’ll Keep Your Memory Vague,” showcasing the range of Finger Eleven, which unfolds across the album in changing arrangements. Producer Johnny K plays a key role in the production, which is reflected in the clear studio work focused on song dynamics. This clear vinyl edition underscores the documentary character of the release, once again laying bare the original song structures without adding any extra, unverified material.

The “Against The World” LP by Always You is being released on Hit The North and marks a clear turning point in songwriting and production for the duo Christoph and Anton Hochheim. On the record, which will be released on November 13, 2026 via Hit The North, the brothers’ familiar melodic instinct meets a rougher, more experimental sonic aesthetic shaped by Jack Tatum (Wild Nothing), who handled production and mixing.

On “Against The World,” Always You weave dense guitar walls together with fractured synthesizer textures, crashing noise elements, and electronic rhythms, pushing the songs toward a compelling, contemporary take on classic rock forms. The title track “Against The World” serves as an immediate opener, while “Lone Luxury,” featuring a guest appearance by Gary Daly (China Crisis), introduces an unexpected vocal counterpoint.

The LP also documents a stylistic range, from driving, beat-driven passages to finely arranged ballads that expand the existing sonic world of Always You. With this release, Hit The North is launching a precisely produced, detail-rich record that clearly highlights both the song-focused signature style of the Hochheim twins and the modern production work of Jack Tatum.

The Translucent Sea Blue edition of the “Luck and Strange” LP by David Gilmour was released by Sony Music and presents the album version in a gatefold sleeve with an included booklet. This LP edition documents Gilmour’s fifth solo album in the form of a full-length record and slots into the classic rock palette of his work, dispensing with elaborate special liner notes or additional formats in its presentation. The material was produced by David Gilmour and Charlie Andrew; the artwork and photography are by Anton Corbijn.

Musically, “Luck and Strange” comprises nine tracks, including “Black Cat,” the title track “Luck and Strange,” “The Piper’s Call,” and “A Single Spark.” On “Between Two Points,” Romany Gilmour contributes harp and vocals; Polly Samson is responsible for most of the lyrics. The contributing musicians include, among others, bassists such as Guy Pratt, drummers such as Steve Gadd, as well as keyboard contributions from Roger Eno; Will Gardner handled the string and choir arrangements. Recordings from earlier sessions featuring the late Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright can still be heard on the title track, giving the album a direct connection to the artist’s past. The Translucent Sea Blue pressing of the “Luck and Strange” LP thus offers a sonically and visually cohesive edition of this David Gilmour album.

The colored vinyl edition of Mountain’s LP "Live At The Fillmore East In NYC June 28 1971" was released on Renaissance. The release documents the band in a historic club setting and transfers the raw intensity of the live performance to a warm, analog medium.

Mountain was defined by a massive guitar tone, prominent bass lines, and relentless percussive drive; Leslie West’s gritty vocals and searing riffs sit at the center of the sound, while Felix Pappalardi lays the foundation with melodic bass work and production finesse. Corky Laing’s precise yet driving drumming provides the necessary momentum, allowing the songs to maintain their tension through extended solos and dynamic shifts. This combination of blues roots and hard-rock power made Mountain a defining force of the early ’70s.

The Fillmore East recording stands alongside those live documents that bring out the band’s character with particular clarity: improvisational passages alternate with tight song structures, so that both the hard-rocking anthems and the longer, atmospheric sequences are convincing. The historical significance of the Fillmore shows as a showcase for American rock is reflected in the intensity of this performance and makes the LP an important document of that phase of Mountain’s career.

Purple Skies is an underground rock band from Bergen, Norway, formed in 2017. With roots in the heavy rock of the late ’60s and ’70s and a dark veil of doom, Purple Skies delivers drenched, fuzz driven rock that moves seamlessly between crushing riffs and classic melodies. Their music draws inspiration from stoner rock, proto-doom, and vintage heavy rock.
During the recording of A Million Years, the band set out to create a sound that feels timeless yet relevant to today’s rock scene. The album was recorded at Polyfon Studio in Bergen with producer Leif Herland, and the process has been both uncompromising and inspiring. Not only did he shape the overall sound, but he also guided the band to deliver their very best performances.
The album draws clear inspiration from Swedish Witchcraft and their ability to bridge the gap between retro and modern expression, with roots reaching all the way back to Black Sabbath’s Vol. 4.
A Million Years is an album that nods to the past while pointing toward the future, capturing the essence of heavy, melodic, and honest rock with both power and precision.

Warren Zevon’s *The Wind* LP is released on Friday Rights Management and documents the singer-songwriter’s final studio album, originally released in 2003. Available on LP, this edition continues Zevon’s distinctive signature and brings together arrangements in which acoustic guitar, slide and electric guitar, and restrained rhythm lines provide the framework for his often laconic, poetic lyrics. The release on Friday Rights Management brings this final chapter of his work to vinyl once again and places the album within the label’s current catalog.

*The Wind* was produced by Jorge Calderón, Noah Scot Snyder, and Warren Zevon himself. The production leaves room for intimate vocal recordings and subtle instrumentation without overshadowing the presence of the guest appearances. The album features numerous prominent musicians, including Ry Cooder, Jim Keltner, Mike Campbell, and Emmylou Harris, who expand the sound at select moments without taking focus away from Zevon’s compositions.

The record includes the widely acclaimed closing track “Keep Me in Your Heart,” as well as Zevon’s take on “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”—both moments that highlight the album’s distinctive balance of melancholy and laconic wit. This LP edition of *The Wind* therefore offers a focused view of Warren Zevon’s final chapter and his collaboration with a select group of contributors.

Musically, “The Last Stage 1983–1985” showcases Burke Shelley’s distinctive bass lines and vocal melodies, complemented by John Thomas’ prominent guitar work and Steve Williams on drums; one recording additionally features Rob Kendrick as a guest musician. The completion and mastering bear the signature of Robert M. Corich and Mike Brown, bringing the historic recordings together sonically. As a document of the classic rock genre, the LP expands Budgie’s body of work with rare, previously difficult-to-access material, offering a focused look at a late yet distinctive period in the band’s history.

The record combines studio recordings on side A with live cuts on side B, revealing the band’s atmosphere and joy of playing in clear, immediate-sounding takes.

Richard Barone and Glenn Mercer deliberately put their vocals and guitar work front and center while retaining the rhythmic energy of the originals.

The “They’re Just Chasing Safety” LP by Underoath is released on Many Hats Dist and brings the band’s fourth studio album, originally issued in 2004, back in a special anniversary edition. With this release, Many Hats Dist presents the distinctive set of songs in full length and opts for elaborate packaging that lends the reissue additional value for collectors. The production of the record remains true to the original sound and emphasizes the interplay between clear melodies and aggressive vocal passages.

Musically, “They’re Just Chasing Safety” documents the phase in which Underoath began to structure their style in a more accessible way: Spencer Chamberlain delivers the raw shouts, while Aaron Gillespie contributes striking clean vocal parts, shaping the contrast that carries the album. Producer James Paul Wisner was responsible for the compact overall sound; J. R. McNeely handled mixing, Troy Glessner did the mastering, and on track 10 Aaron Marsh adds vocal accents. Songs like “A Boy Brushed Red Living in Black and White,” “Reinventing Your Exit,” and “It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door” are exemplary of the melodically sophisticated arrangements and dynamic rhythmic work. The Many Hats Dist LP thus offers a carefully reworked version of a defining chapter in the band’s history and makes “They’re Just Chasing Safety” accessible to vinyl listeners once again.

The “Who’s Next” LP by The Who is being released on Analogue Productions and brings back one of the central chapters in the band’s history in an audiophile reissue. The album grew out of Pete Townshend’s abandoned Lifehouse project and captures the band’s upheavals around 1970/71; it includes defining tracks such as “Baba O’Riley,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” and “Behind Blue Eyes,” which made Who’s Next a landmark of rock.

Musically, the work combines monumental rock arrangements with an unusual synthesizer texture: Townshend’s work with analog synthesizers opens up new sonic spaces for the songs, while Roger Daltrey’s dramatic vocals and Keith Moon’s impulsive drumming preserve the raw, dynamic core. John Entwistle’s distinctive bass lines and Townshend’s powerful guitar riffs together shape the striking sound that characterizes the band.

The reissue on Analogue Productions emphasizes the technical remastering and the album’s original studio character without altering its musical impact; producer Glyn Johns’ classic studio craft remains clearly audible, and the arrangements emerge with clarity and detail. For listeners who want to trace The Who’s transition from concept project to arena-ready rock band, this LP offers an authentic and carefully crafted reference.

The "Mrs Brown" LP by 5 Revolutions is released on Zambia Music Parlour and documents the band at a point where traditional rock instrumentation meets Zambian rhythmic structures. The album can be placed within the Zamrock context, but repeatedly shifts the focus toward a distinctive groove close to kalindula, which shapes the record’s overall sound.

Musically, the release combines overdriven guitars and sustained organ textures with prominent bass figures and irregular rhythmic patterns; this blend gives the tracks a raw yet danceable quality. Individual cuts, notably the title track "Mrs. Brown," rely on sensual, restrained vocal lines and rhythmic displacements that make the piece stand out from a typical rock context.

5 Revolutions emerged from the Kitwe scene of the 1970s, formed by musicians who had previously played in bands such as Boyfriends, WITCH, and Peace. Singer and lead guitarist Morris Mwape led the group; alongside him, Abel Mukumbwe (rhythm guitar), Zion Lofwa (bass), John Chibuye (drums), and Lovemore Sakala (percussion) shaped its characteristic sound. This lineup laid the groundwork for the later development of the kalindula element in their playing.

As part of the Zambia Music Parlour catalog, "Mrs Brown" represents the local interweaving of rock traditions with regional dance forms and social rootedness. The LP is part of the label’s internal Legacy series and offers a clear insight into the musical evolution of a band that moved between garage rock, psychedelia, and African dance music.
