A popular work by Takamatsu Masayoshi, one of Japan's leading super guitarists, remastered.

Using high-resolution audio from the original master tapes of the highly popular albums "brasilian SKIES," "jolly JIVE," and the early best-of album "all OF ME," remastering and cutting were performed by Alex Wharton at London’s Abbey Road Studios. Alex Wharton is one of Abbey Road's representative engineers, having worked on the mastering of albums by Paul McCartney & Wings and The Chemical Brothers.

This limited first pressing features 180g heavyweight vinyl. "brasilian Skies" comes in clear sky blue, "jolly Jive" in clear lime yellow, and "all OF ME" in clear light green, with colored vinyls that enhance the imagery of the jacket artwork.

This 1978 work reflects the influence of Latin music and a free-spirited approach, created across studios in L.A., Rio de Janeiro, and Izu. The album includes tracks recorded with local musicians in Brazil, a samba arrangement of Star Wars, and other unique pieces. Fans will also enjoy the beloved track "Disco B." Notably, Ryuichi Sakamoto contributed keyboard and string ensemble performances.

The “Doin’ Ya Thang” 12" by Oliver Dollar is being released on Defected and marks the first official vinyl reissue since its original 2010 release via Jesse Rose’s Made To Play. With this release, Defected is bringing the track back into its official catalog and making a long-requested pressing available for DJs and collectors.

Musically, “Doin’ Ya Thang” is built on a stripped-back, swinging groove: deep, rolling basslines meet precise, crisp percussion and a catchy, recurring vocal fragment. The central vocal element comes from Moodymann, whose live monologue Oliver Dollar integrated into the track as a looping hook — an approach that turned the title into an instantly recognizable DJ tool while also sparking controversial discussions about the sample. The track was originally conceived as a practical DJ track and quickly developed into a Beatport hit.

“Carte Blanche” by Veracocha was released as a 12" single on Armada and ranks among the most distinctive trance releases of the late 1990s. The track, recorded under the joint alias Veracocha, was produced by Ferry Corsten and Vincent de Moor and quickly established itself as a club classic with a highly recognizable sound. Its release played a major role in fusing melody and driving rhythms within mainstream trance.

Musically, “Carte Blanche” is characterized by a clear melodic line, striking piano elements, and expansive, floating pad sounds, all carried by punchy kick drums and a propulsive tempo. DJ Koze might be one of the world's best producers, but above all he's a DJ, and it's his DJ ear that governs. Just as in a great set, so with his releases: "Seeing Aliens" came out of nowhere, a big buzzing beast of a track, to announce that Koze was back on the scene and prime everyone for the coming album, knock knock. But now that Koze has your attention, it's time to remind everyone what's most important about club music, pull things back, take a turn to the left, and get deep into the groove. Thus "Pick Up": the second single from knock knock is 100% pure groove, doubly so in the extended 12" version. In a sense it's incredibly familiar - it is essentially a filter disco record, very close to something you could imagine coming out of Paris around the turn of the millennium. But of course, this is Koze. Nothing is normal or familiar in his world, and he's taken this most foundational of clubland staples into new territory. Flipping samples of Gladys Knight & the Pips "Neither One Of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)" and Melba Moore's "Pick Me Up, I'll Dance", it creates something completely airborne, shot through with emotions such as gods must feel: not quite explicable to the human mind but strong enough to knock you off your feet. In its way it's absolutely as powerful as "Seeing Aliens", but it comes in like the proverbial iron fist in a glove of velvet. The flip, a ten-minute new track, "The Love Truck" is a big contrast again. If "Pick Up" is giddy flight, "The Love Truck" is woozy floating. Its sharp, clicking percussion recalls 2000s minimal techno, but this time absolutely nothing is generic. The long, intense, on-and-off bass tones, the flickers of birdsong, the pure voices slipping in backwards as if from the future... it's all like the most blissful dream, and culminates in a coda so subtle yet so beautiful it's like ever time you've ever seen the sun rise and thought "I never want this to end", all the while understanding deep down that the fleeting nature of the pleasure is also what give it its power. But of course, being created with that consummate DJ's ear, it's also full of the thrill of wondering what Koze has in store next.

Fela Kuti in Dub is a showcase album containing four essential songs by Fela Kuti in the style of a Jamaican Discomix, evolving from an instrumental cover version to a dub version, celebrating the musical heritage of Nigeria and Jamaica likewise.
Please understand this work as a hommage to both musical cultures.

The four tracks were chosen because they are a timeless witness to the political potential of music, that being proofed by their actuality. The songs feature essential dub eﬀects like echoes, reverb and filtering but also feature analogue sound eﬀects underlining and sonically illustrating the missing lyrical content. These vary from thundery spring reverbs and percussion instruments imitating the pouring rain on „Water No Get Enemy“ to marching soldiers and shot gun like reverbs on „Zombie“. From a cash register on „Expensive Shit“ to the dub sirens created live on a Korg Ms10 on „Everything Scatter“.

Only analogue instruments, sounds and dub eﬀects were used on this recording. Mixing, dubs and arrangements were done live in consecutive sessions. The premaster was done by Sodi Marciszewer at Zarma Studios (Fela Kuti, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Damian Marley) on the original Decca desk used by Fela Kuti in Lagos. Fela Kuti In Dub was conceived and produced by Cpt. Yossarian alias Manuel da Coll musician, producer and soundman from Munich/Germany. His last work „Bob Marley In Dub“ (2021, Echobeach) attained a lot of critical acclaim and was featured by Don Letts on Bbc6, the Riddim Magazine and Helmut Phillips book „dub - The Sound Of Surprise“ amongst others.

Manuel da Coll plays drums with LaBrassBanda (Bavarian Brass), FEH (Trip Hop) and runs a mobile soundsystem, the Dubtrain.one, displaying his work at live dub sessions. He is the owner of „Studio Katzlbaum“, a studio devoted to dub production in Munich/Germany.

As a young poet, Clark found herself drawn to London’s emerging punk scene. She became acquainted with Psychic TV affiliate David Harrow, with whom she would collaborate on 1983’s Changing Places and 1984’s Joined Up Writing. “Our Darkness,” off the latter album, was released as a single on Ink Records that same year, and became an underground club hit. It’s a singular piece of music: Clark’s lyrics, delivered with equal parts muscular confidence and unease, speak of urban alienation and heartbreak, while Harrow’s production pummels the listener with hydraulic beats and gloom-laced arpeggios. The song’s spirit would prove influential on both the early Chicago house and Detroit techno scenes, where mechanistic funk and existential despair could catalyse dancefloor mayhem. This reissue offers three versions of “Our Darkness”: the original 12” remix, the Razormaid mix, and a previously unreleased dub version uncovered by David Harrow. Also included is the extended mix of “Sleeper in Metropolis,” another dancefloor hit of Clark’s, as well as the elegiac “Poem for a Nuclear Romance.” The record includes an insert with liner notes and lyrics. “Our Darkness” channels timeless longing and contemporary dismay, a classic overdue for a little light shed upon it.

Canadian deep house don Nick Holder's Fruit Loops EP is next to get the remaster and reissue treatment from Definitive Recordings. This label, now overseen by Get Physical Music, first released the EP back in 1995 when Toronto-based Holder had already become one of house music's most tasteful operators. He went on to release over 125 EPs and singles under countless aliases, in various groups, and on his labels DNH Records and Treehouse Records, as well as !K7 Records and NRK. His style spans house, disco loops and minimal Chicago grooves and is always high on immersive atmosphere. Opener 'Dance Dance Dance' brings together all those aspects of the Holder sound with its funky guitar riffs looping beneath raw drums and disco basslines. Classic Chic samples burst out of the mix to bring an air of celebration and party, and it makes for an irresistibly feel-good sound. 'Keep on Running' is a steamy and sweaty house jam with loopy drums and bass and more smartly chosen samples, this time from Roy Ayers, that bring the funk and never let up. It has long been a go-to anthem for house DJs, and the realness and rawness of the emotions in Holder's work also shine through with the filtered synths and jazzy keys of 'The Message of Love', which is complete with bumpy and irresistible drums. The 12" release “Mirror Phase” by Efdemin brings together four precise, straight-ahead techno cuts and marks Phillip Sollmann’s debut on Dekmantel. As Efdemin, he moves between warm, melodic gestures and inquisitive sound textures; this balance defines his approach, which understands techno very much as a bittersweet form of soul while at the same time setting his own unmistakable accents.

According to the notes, the four tracks were created mostly from studio jams on analog gear and were recorded relatively quickly. Explicit references to the Detroit–Berlin legacy run throughout the material; the title track “Mirror Phase” uses a fully cleared sample of DJ Minx’s spoken intro from Kevin Saunderson’s contribution to the X-Mix series, which makes the tribute intent behind the production plain. Adventurous synth lines and processed samples meet sharply cut 909 drums, while a pronounced dose of machine-tinted emotional color lends the tracks depth.

As a Dekmantel release, “Mirror Phase” positions itself between classic and forward-looking takes on the genre: the tracks function as utilitarian club tools and at the same time as documentary snapshots of Sollmann’s engagement with the origins of techno. The result is a focused four-tracker that makes the artist’s personal dialogue with tradition clearly audible.

The "Discoteca Tropicana" 12" by Discoteca Tropicana is released on Selva Discos and brings together four original compositions that celebrate the rhythms that have shaped Brazilian disco: a mix of swinging arrangements and tropical flair aimed squarely at lighting up the dancefloor.

The project is the result of a collaboration between Kiko Costato, the enfant terrible of the Brazilian scene, and Zé Nigro, a producer and multi-instrumentalist with two Grammy Awards. For the recordings, Costato and Nigro recruited some of Brazil’s most distinguished studio musicians as well as pioneers of the country’s Black music scene, including backing vocalists who regularly work with Gilberto Gil. This mix of personnel contributes to the stylistic diversity of the EP.

Musically, the record moves between classic disco aesthetics and regional Brazilian patterns: “Corpos Celestes” leans on orchestral string arrangements and a big grand piano, like the glamorous opening to a night out; “Corpo Treme” is a sweat‑drenched, carimbó‑driven track with a vuco‑vuco vibe; “Tobina” links Brazilian swing with African vocal forms and distinctive guitar work in an afoxé feel; and finally, “Não Pode Acabar” is the urban dancefloor hit that works equally well as a set opener or as a furious set closer.

The clear production, the selection of seasoned accompanying musicians, and the thematic range make the "Discoteca Tropicana" 12" a compact, well‑balanced homage to the fusion of Brazilian tradition and disco sensibility.

The 12" “Make A Move On Me” by Joey Montenegro (Dave Lee), released on Groovin, brings together all the key versions of the track in a single edition: the long “Club Mix” (8:54) as well as the “Original Disco Mix” and the “Dubwize Re‑Organisation.” The release collects the different reworks on a physical format and appears under license from Z Records.

Musically, “Make A Move On Me” fuses classic disco aesthetics with contemporary house production; its characteristic features include prominent clav licks, rhythmic guitar, subtle piano passages, and a distinctly funky bass line, all topped off with powerful vocals. Dave Lee, who also works under various other aliases, has revisited the song several times over the course of his career and in 2023 delivered a deliberately disco‑oriented new version that transfers the song’s internal melodies into a stripped‑down, dancefloor‑focused arrangement.
