Earl of East: a fragrance empire from east London

Earl of East, founded in 2014 by Niko Dafkos and Paul Firmin, began its journey as a humble market stand in East London. A shared passion for fragrances and the desire to create something of their own gave rise to a brand that is now known far beyond London’s borders.

The rise of a fragrance brand

Since its beginnings, Earl of East has grown in impressive fashion. The brand now operates three brick-and-mortar stores in London as well as a thriving online store. The offering includes a wide range of perfume and bath products that are sustainably produced by a dedicated team in London. Earl of East has managed to establish its fragrances in over 250 stores worldwide and gain a loyal fan base.

The four pillars of Earl of East

Earl of East’s philosophy is based on four central pillars: Create, Curate, Collaborate and Community. These core principles permeate all aspects of the business and are at the heart of what Earl of East is all about.

More than just a business

But Earl of East is not just about shopping. The Earl of East stores have evolved into creative spaces that host candle making workshops and events. These events not only offer the growing community the opportunity to learn craft skills, but also to exchange ideas over coffee and stimulating conversation – both online and offline.

Sustainability and quality

Earl of East’s product range reflects the brand’s commitment to quality and sustainability. At the Earl of East production studio in East London, hand-poured candles are made with cotton wicks that are phthalate and GMO-free. The range also includes paraben-free bath salts, aromatherapy sprays, oil products, incense cones and sticks made from bamboo sticks and wood. Earl of East air fresheners are non-toxic, locally produced and come in recyclable and biodegradable packaging. The hand wash products are made from 99.5% natural ingredients and are SLS, SLES, paraben and MI free, scented with botanical and essential oils. All Earl of East products are vegan, cruelty free and made from ethically sourced ingredients.

Collaboration and creativity

Earl of East has established itself as a leading British manufacturer of high quality home fragrances, reaching new creative peaks through collaborations with prestigious brands such as JW Anderson, Selfridges and Blank Street. These collabos have helped to further strengthen the Earl of East brand and constantly expand your range.

Earl of East: a place of encounter and creativity

Earl of East stores are more than just retail outlets; they are creative meeting places. Here, the community is regularly brought together at workshops and events to exchange ideas and experiences. These places offer customers not only high-quality products, but also an inspiring environment in which they can feel comfortable and be creative.

Earl of East is a shining example of how passion and commitment can turn a small project into an international success. With a strong focus on sustainability, quality and community, Earl of East has firmly established itself in the world of fragrances and will continue to inspire with innovative products and creative approaches. The brand remains true to its vision and is committed to a future that is as fragrant as it is sustainable.
