His earliest hip-hop influence was A Tribe Called Quest, which helped shape his love for storytelling, rhythm, and perspective. By age 10, Logan had already begun writing, rhyming and describing the world around him before the inner city fully took hold. At 12, when his mother and father relocated the family to Charlotte, North Carolina, he leaned deeper into his craft, sharpening his skills and making a name for himself by killing cyphers in school and throughout the city.

At 15 years old, he met his mentor and producer Brian Dunovant, a turning point that helped define his musical direction. Soon after, Logan released his East Side cult classic „Icebergs" (1998), featuring Ekips, Tuff M.C., Peaches, K.I.M. and Supreme Killa. The project gained traction quickly, leading to interviews on Power 98 and performances at the legendary Sugar Shack. From that moment on, Logan was on his way, grounded in authenticity, lyricism and purpose.

Vice Versa came up with his childhood friend Stan, a local DJ with crates full of vinyl and a hunger that matched his own. They spent nights in basements looping beats and freestyling until sunrise - sharpening a sound that mixed D.C. grit with New York lyricism. Word spread. Battles were won. Open mics were crushed. A voice was rising out of Southeast.

Everything changed when a street-connected visionary named Baron “B” Flemings stepped in with money, ambition, and a belief in Vice’s raw talent. Alongside him came E-Boogie (Eric Kennedy), a young industry insider with D.C. roots and New York access. Together they formed Rage One Recordings - a label funded by hustle, heart, and the kind of grind nobody teaches in music school. The sonic backbone of Rage One was Scotty Beats, a gifted engineer/producer who lived inside Horizon Studio and transformed raw ideas into polished records. With Scotty behind the boards and Vice Versa behind the mic, the crew began shaping the project that would become Basick Mentality.

Tracks like “Paradise,” “All Around The World,” “Guts & Glory,” and “Let Your Nuts Hang” were born during this era - created with passion, pressure, and the belief that D.C. had something to say. The team opened for legends like Busta Rhymes and EPMD, rehearsing day and night, chasing the breakthrough they knew was coming. The self-titled album has been released in limited quantities on CD only in 1997. But real life hit harder than any beat. As the team expanded its operations to Los Angeles and met with major labels, street life and circumstance took their toll. Jail time, mismanaged funds, broken trust, and life’s responsibilities pulled the crew apart just as the music was reaching its peak.

Then tragedy struck. In the same year, both pillars of this project - Scotty Beats and Vice Versa - were murdered. Two brilliant lives gone. Two futures erased. Two brothers lost forever. Scotty was killed protecting his property. Vice Versa was killed in a robbery in the same neighborhoods he once electrified with his voice. For years, the music was lost - buried in memories, scattered across cities, carried only by those who refused to let the story die.

This re-release is more than a project. It is a resurrection. A tribute. A testament to a crew that gave everything. To Vice Versa. To Scotty Beats. To Rage One. To the dream that lived, died, and now lives again.

Now both albums are re-released for the very first time, combined with a double-faced artwork.

Originally released in 1997 on CD only, the sophomore album "Everything Is Nice" by Prose & Concepts finally gets the full reissue treatment. The group comprised of MC Dope, SharkE, Mic Dub, Beatnik, DJ Ace and Rawi were sporting the Seattle underground sound of heavy drums and dusty loops paired with cuts back and forth.

In addition, the album includes the "Bass Camp Demo" version of "Higher Places". The original track might be known to diggers from the excellent "14 Fathoms Deep" compilation released on Loosegroove Records in 1996 showcasing the vivid Seattle Hip-Hop scene in the mid-90's.

Da Ville, On Point and Mr. Kenner BooLuv Mewsiks Feyenist, the group delivered 12 demo tracks produced by themselves and mostly recorded and mixed at Funky Slice Studios, Brooklyn. All of the tracks haven't seen the light of day until now, so expect nothing but that raw and pure New York sound from the mid-90's.

"After parting ways as Blaque Spurm with Rick Rubin’s American Recordings in 1996, Bobby “BeFyne” Humbert moved from Houston back to the eastcoast to Philly and began working for Contract Recordings and Ruff Nation formerly known as Ruff House Records. During his time there he recorded this album in Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo’s infamous recording studio. Produced by his two mentors and close friends Anthony “YZ” Hill and Anthony “Tony D” Depula (RIP), this was the first time in over 10 years they had worked on a project together from their Two Tone Production days back in the late 80’s.

The album is a vivid reflection of what BeFyne was experiencing becoming an elder statesmen for underground hip-hop music as it was beginning to morph in the commercial powerhouse that it is today. It was also a testimony to his growth as an emcee and displays some of his best lyricism since his early The Funk Family and Blaque Spurm days. The production from both Tony’s was ahead of its time and can hold up to any sound on the radio right now. Hailing from Richmond, VA, Danja Mowf rocked the spot in 1997 with his debut "Word Of Mowf". As a major figure in the Virginia-based The SupaFriendz collective, all of its members have guest spots on the album including Mad Skillz and Lonnie B. The duo comprised of Wil Champion & Pro-K delivered two certified classics in the mid 90's, handling both the production and rhyme part on their own. In the midst of North Carolina's Tobacco Road and ACC basketball flowed an eloquent and bizarre Hip Hop juggernaut known as Yaggfu Front. The genuinely warped minds of D'ranged & Damaged, Jingle Bel and Spin 4th fused to form this acronym, a simple edict declaring "You're Gonna Get Fucked Up If You Front".

The 1993 debut album "Action Packed Adventure!" runs deep in lyrics and thick in production. Some of the lyrics are well within the ballpark of MC comprehension, while some transcend left field for the parking lot and on out to the f*#@ing highway. Beat fiends will incredulously shake their heads as the production crackles like that of crate PHD's Diamond and Pete Rock.

The duo comprised of Hakim Green and Tuffy created a certain impact on the scene with tracks like "Mad Izm" or "Sex For The Sport", and also remixes by the likes of Buckwild and Easy Mo Bee made the release a fan favorite amongst Hip Hop heads worldwide.
