Ivor Novello–winning and Oscar–nominated composer Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider Verse, The Trial of the Chicago 7) delivers a bold, immersive score for Project Hail Mary, blending rhythmic percussion, soaring choral vocals, orchestral movements, synths and electronic textures. Focus track ‘Life is Reason’ utilises these elements to brilliant effect to bring listeners onboard Rocky and Grace’s experimental mission, encapsulating the transportive cosmic soundscape.

Project Hail Mary was a soundtrack journey like no other. Right from the beginning, we all talked about trying to make a score that subconsciously connected you to being a human and the world around you - whether through trying to use sound that felt unusually elemental - wood (woodblocks), metal (steel drums), glass (cristal bachet), water (leaking taps!) or through the sounds a human could make - from large choirs to mouth drum machines, delicate and electronically treated solo voices to noisy hand clap stomp ensembles using their entire bodies to deliver percussive scale. I wanted to create an organic and unusual sound world that hopefully felt new and unexpected yet still reached and touched the emotional beats that we long for in great film making experiences, that could envelop you in the awe and wonder of the universe yet still deliver the fun and thrill of discovering a brand new friendship, even if it does happen to be with a rock from another planet. It was a crazy journey that I am very proud of that called out for an approach I’d never embarked on before. Fingers crossed this musical Hail Mary worked…!

"Mere Mortals" by Floating Points is being released on LP by Deutsche Grammophon and documents the first evening-length ballet by British composer and producer Sam Shepherd. The work was created at the invitation of Tamara Rojo for the San Francisco Ballet and premiered in 2024 at the War Memorial Opera House; the stage production featured choreography by Aszure Barton and design and visuals by Hamill Industries.

Musically, the record combines orchestral forces with live-played synthesizers and electronic production; Shepherd performed the synthesizers live with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra for the performance and then further developed the score in the studio for the recording. The album was produced by Floating Points himself and translates the story of the Pandora myth into a contemporary sonic language that interweaves electronics and symphonic orchestration.

As an advance release, the expanded piece "Falling to Earth" (Movement 8) appeared digitally on May 1, 2026; the LP "Mere Mortals" is scheduled for late summer 2026 on Deutsche Grammophon. The release is aimed equally at listeners interested in contemporary orchestral work and at fans of Floating Points’ bridge between club and concert formats.

The “Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique” LP by Sir Colin Davis & the Concertgebouw Orchestra is released on Deutsche Grammophon and documents one of the defining takes on this programmatic masterpiece. The recording presents Hector Berlioz’s five-movement score, regarded as a central example of Romantic program music, whose recurring motif, the idée fixe, forms the narrative core.

The music unfolds a wide range of moods, from wistful melodies and dance-like scenes to darkly intensifying episodes such as the Witches’ Sabbath. Characteristic are the contrasting orchestral colors, sharply profiled wind writing, and the dramatic conception, which Berlioz, as a narrative figure, pursues consistently through every movement. The score combines programmatic clarity with innovative orchestration.

Sir Colin Davis’s approach is marked by clear contours and carefully judged tempos; his work with the Concertgebouw Orchestra emphasizes warm string sonorities and transparent textures, allowing the score’s dramatic turns to emerge with particular clarity. This recording has established itself in the discography as an authoritative reading and is presented by Deutsche Grammophon in its catalog edition.

With this special edition, Sony Classical/Sony Music issues a collector-oriented version that places the title center stage and prominently promotes Hans Zimmer as a composer.

The “Club Imperiale” double LP by Maxime Denuc is released on Light-Years and transfers a fully developed concept to vinyl: an imaginary link between sacred spaces and early rave aesthetics that becomes palpable in both the instrumentation and the dramaturgy of the pieces.

On the album, Maxime Denuc works with a MIDI-controlled pipe organ and builds compositions that pick up on trance and techno forms of the 1990s without ever denying the original church acoustics. Individual tracks like “Hallucinogen” deliberately draw on references from the electronic scene, while pieces such as “Atlantis” and “Everytime” use short note repetitions and shimmering drone layers to create a maritime sonic image. This interplay of baroque lines and progressive club motifs shapes the overall dramaturgy of the work.

The compositions were programmed specifically for the instrument; Denuc used custom Max/MSP sequencers and a spatial multi-microphone setup to place the listener between concrete walls and expansive church niches. Production and mixing were handled by Raphaël Hénard at La Savonnerie, recording took place at St. Antonius Church by Harry Charlier, and mastering was done by Giuseppe Ielasi. These technical decisions underscore the experimental character of the album and emphasize the physical impact of the sound.

“This Will Be Us” by Hildur Guðnadóttir is being released as an LP on Deutsche Grammophon, translating the composer’s more recent symphonic program into a physical format. The recording places the cello voice at the center and connects it with large-scale orchestral arrangements that reimagine central motifs from her work. The album is aimed at listeners who seek the intersection of contemporary chamber music and orchestral sonic dramaturgy.

Hildur Guðnadóttir has become known as a cellist, vocalist, and composer; her approach combines acoustic intimacy, electronically expanded soundscapes, and cinematic arcs of tension. Characteristic are slow, organically evolving gestures, subtle dissonances, and a high proportion of pieces in which voice and strings create a dense, almost vocal texture. This range, style-wise, is reflected in the LP’s arrangements, which include both pared-down solo passages and orchestral unfoldings.

The pieces come from different creative phases in Guðnadóttir’s career and have been newly reworked for this program; the repertoire ranges from solo works to compositions known from her film oeuvre, with the composer herself carrying the cello part. Concert announcements and program notes emphasize the dialogic character between solo instrument and orchestra, as well as the rewriting of earlier pieces for a symphonic context.

Released on Thanatosis Produktion, the LP “Arch Of Motion” presents Linnéa Talp’s delicate explorations of organ sound and space in concentrated form. Long, sustained tones, subtle dissonances, and the deliberate use of modular electronics create a minimal yet multi-layered sonic space in which breath and air remain perceptible as structural elements.

For the recordings, Talp invited seasoned improvisers to join her: Mariam Wallentin (voice), Mats Äleklint (trombone), Martin Küchen (flute), Christer Bothén (bass clarinet), Alex Zethson (grand piano), and Mandus Almqvist Johansson (guitar) complement the organ and Buchla/modular passages with restrained, timbre-focused contributions. The pieces were created in several churches in Sweden; Linnéa Talp also serves as producer, with mixing by Andreas Werliin and mastering/cutting by Andreas “Lupo” Lubich.

Musically, “Arch Of Motion” combines pared-down compositional principles with improvisational openness: influences from John Cage and early work in Buchla synthesis shape Talp’s approach, which treats breathing rhythms and long sustained textures on an equal footing. From her earlier work under the name DEEREST she has retained a focus on presence and audible detail, placing her style somewhere between contemporary minimal music and ambient sound sculpture.

Zelda Classics by Sixth Station Trio is a sweeping chamber-style reinterpretation of music from across The Legend of Zelda series.

Piano, cello, and violin carry each theme with emotional clarity and warmth; sometimes whimsical and joyful, sometimes dark and driven, sometimes reflective and quietly powerful. From the nostalgic lift of Breath of the Wild to the romantic swell of Rito Village and the dreamlike calm of Zelda’s Lullaby, each arrangement transforms familiar melodies into intimate, cinematic performances that feel timeless and deeply personal.

Sixth Station Trio blends expressive violin, piano, and cello arrangements into elegant reinterpretations that lean into emotion and storytelling. Their sound evokes classical recital halls and film scores alike; balancing softness and power while allowing each melody room to breathe. This collection highlights the trio’s ability to make iconic Zelda themes feel personal, nostalgic, and newly alive.

With his solo piano album "Black Mozart," multiple Grammy and Oscar winner Jon Batiste continues his "Batiste Piano Series." Its predecessor, "Beethoven Blues," reached #1 on the Billboard Classical Charts in 2024 and thrilled fans and critics alike: "Unique blues and gospel versions" (Associated Press), "Combines Beethoven's melodic subtleties with improvisational freedom" (Jazzthing).

With "Black Mozart," Batiste consistently pursues his concept, reinterpreting classical music without losing its essence. At its heart is Mozart - a composer whose clear melodies and complex structures continue to resonate today. Batiste blends these qualities with influences from jazz, blues, and gospel - an unpretentious, emotional dialogue between classical music and African-American traditions.

The “The Boy And The Heron” LP by Joe Hisaishi and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is released as a Symphonic Suite in a limited edition on Deutsche Grammophon and presents the film’s musical material in concise orchestral movements. This release brings together Hisaishi’s distinctive compositional voice in an autonomous concert format and highlights the symphonic architecture of the themes without subordinating them to the film’s original dramaturgy. The LP edition emphasizes the role of the arrangement as a suite and clearly showcases the orchestral lines of the score.

The “Symphonic Suite” documented on the record is conceived for piano and orchestra; here Hisaishi acts both as composer and, in performance, as conductor and solo pianist, while the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra provides the orchestral realization. This collaboration between Hisaishi and the orchestra foregrounds the unifying power of melodic writing and makes the LP a concentrated testament to his recent symphonic work. The limited edition on Deutsche Grammophon thus offers a focused, collectible expression of Hisaishi’s musical language in a purely orchestral context.

The “Recordings On ECM” LP by Steve Reich appears on ECM and presents a selection of historic recordings that document the composer’s work in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The compilation brings together the most distinctive pieces from this period and includes the takes on “Music for 18 Musicians” first released on ECM, as well as the ensemble recordings that capture Reich’s work with the Steve Reich Ensemble. The edition places its emphasis on the sonic clarity and structural precision of the original recordings as they are presented in the ECM releases.

The recordings were made between 1976 and 1981 and, in addition to “Music for 18 Musicians,” document shorter ensemble pieces such as “Octet,” “Music for a Large Ensemble,” and the vocally oriented “Tehillim,” performed by members of the Steve Reich Ensemble, including musicians who accompany Reich in the sessions and Reich himself in several parts. The edition thus offers a focused point of entry into Reich’s formal work with pulse and layering, and brings into relief the sound balance and finely detailed instrumental writing for which ECM’s productions of those years have often been praised.

The “Bach: Mass in B Minor” LP by Karl Richter with the Munich Bach Orchestra and the Munich Bach Choir is released on Deutsche Grammophon and documents Richter’s widely acclaimed recording of the complete Mass in B Minor (BWV 232) from the early 1960s. The production brings together renowned soloists: Maria Stader (soprano), Hertha Töpper (alto), Ernst Haefliger (tenor), Kieth Engen (bass), and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, whose contributions explore the contrast between the large choral movements and the more chamber-like sections.

Karl Richter shapes the score in a broad, homogeneous flow in which choir and orchestra carry the vocal fabric, while the solo parts assume clear, text-centered profiles. The recording lasts around two hours and vividly brings out both the polyphonic weight of the Kyrie and Gloria and the intimate arias and duets. This recording ranks among the defining documents of Richter’s take on Bach and is part of special editions that highlight his achievements for the repertoire.

The "Drumming · Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ · Six Pianos" triple LP by Steve Reich and Musicians is being released by Deutsche Grammophon as a reissue of the historic 1974 recording and, in complete form, brings together the approximately 85-minute version of "Drumming" with "Six Pianos" and "Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ." Presented in the Original Source Series, this edition once again shines a spotlight on a key work of early-1970s composition.

The performances are drawn from the sessions recorded in January 1974 at the Polydor Studios in Hamburg; for the reissue, fully analog AAA remastering and cutting were carried out at the Emil Berliner Studios. The edition comes in a numbered, limited lift-off box and includes a 32-page booklet with session photographs, facsimiles of the original recording logs, the composer’s original liner notes, and a new essay by David Butchart; an accompanying certificate contains a contribution by Rainer Maillard on the preparation of the original master tapes. The ensemble on the recording includes members of the Steve Reich Ensemble and the composer himself, featuring marimba and glockenspiel parts as well as vocal lines, as documented in the studio version recorded in 1974.

The Colored Vinyl Edition of the “The Blue Hour 10th Anniversary Colored Vinyl Edition” LP by Federico Albanese is being released on Neue Meister and honors the album that established the composer as a representative of contemporary piano music. Marking the record’s tenth anniversary, this edition reissues the compositions of the original recording on colored vinyl and is aimed at listeners who prefer finely crafted, predominantly instrumental works.

Musically, Federico Albanese combines delicate piano melodies with orchestral string arrangements and electronic elements used subtly; the pieces inhabit the space between neoclassical and ambient, characterized by clear, often cinematic thematic writing. This blend of classical form and modern sound processing shapes the composer’s characteristic style.

The original recording comprises thirteen compositions, with Albanese responsible not only for the piano parts but also for the arrangements and production; the clear structures and detailed instrumentation showcase his signature as both composer and arranger. Experienced engineers handled mixing and mastering, emphasizing the balance between acoustic instruments and electronic elements.

The anniversary colored-vinyl edition presents the well-known pieces in a way that allows the album to be experienced anew as a unified work. It encapsulates Albanese’s approach: pared-down piano lines, warm layers of strings, and subtle electronic shadings that clearly trace the artist’s compositional profile.

The “Haydn 2032 Vol. 17 Per Il Luigi” LP by Kammerorchester Basel is released on Alpha and continues Giovanni Antonini’s concept-driven Haydn series. This volume brings together early symphonies that reveal Haydn’s intention to showcase the virtuosic abilities of his colleagues in the Esterházy orchestra. At the center of the program is Symphony No. 13 in D major with four horns, which reveals surprising thematic connections, as well as the Violin Concerto in C major, dedicated “fatto per il Luigi” to Luigi Tomasini.

Musically, Giovanni Antonini’s direction together with Kammerorchester Basel shapes a clear sense of line and a chamber-like ensemble blend, while the young Baroque violinist Dmitry Smirnov, as soloist, interprets the violin concerto with evident technical command and expressive agogics. The production fits into the artistic vision of the Haydn2032 project, which assembles selected programs according to thematic rather than strictly chronological criteria. The LP version also offers additional editorial material for the edition, including a longer accompanying essay prepared for the vinyl edition of Vol. 17. With this installment, Alpha and Kammerorchester Basel present a focused contribution to the exploration of Haydn’s early works.

The LP “Glassworks” by Philip Glass, released on Music On Vinyl, brings together the six concise movements of the work of the same name and translates the precise, minimalist composition into a format tailored for analog playback. The pieces’ design, reduced to clear lines and recurring motifs, makes the record a direct point of entry into Glass’s body of work and emphasizes the formal clarity that shapes the overall concept.

Musically, “Glassworks” is characterized by pulsating patterns, lean melodic lines, and subtle layering in the instrumentation; the individual movements are compact in design and achieve their effect precisely through repetition and fine variation. This approach shifts the music away from the concert-hall context toward a presentation more oriented toward personal listening experiences, allowing the composition to remain both accessible and structurally sophisticated.

The performance is led by the Philip Glass Ensemble; Michael Riesman serves here as conductor and keyboardist, production was handled by Kurt Munkacsi together with Philip Glass, and Kurt Munkacsi as well as Michael Riesman were responsible for the engineering. The transparency of the arrangements and the precise sonic balance on the LP bring both the rhythmic momentum and the lyrical moments to the forefront.

Thomas Zehetmair’s artistic direction shapes the tempo and articulation profile of both symphonies; in addition, the production has also been realized in Dolby Atmos for SKO records. The mediabook LP includes a booklet with contextual texts about the take on and the making of the recording, as well as technical information about the production. Overall, the edition offers a focused presentation of two key Beethoven works in the distinctive sonic signature of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra on SKO.

The “Romanza 30th Anniversary” LP by Andrea Bocelli is released on Deutsche Grammophon. It pays tribute to the work that first introduced Bocelli to a global audience and brings together defining tracks such as “Con Te Partirò,” “Time To Say Goodbye,” and “Vivo per lei,” which continue to shape the character of the album to this day.

Musically, Andrea Bocelli combines classical tenor singing with catchy, melodic arrangements and a clear pop sensibility; this intersection between classical music and popular songcraft shapes the album’s sound and contributes to its broad appeal. Vocal warmth and a focused emphasis on the vocal line are hallmarks of the artist’s style.

The anniversary edition presents the tracks in a sequencing tailored to the LP format and includes the complete original selection, expanded with newly reworked material from the recording sessions; for the first time, additional photographs from the recording period as well as an extended version of “Con Te Partirò” are featured. In this way, the edition is aimed equally at longtime listeners and those discovering the album for the first time.

In tightly edited liner notes, the release emphasizes the importance of “Romanza” within Bocelli’s oeuvre: it highlights the early direction of his career and offers a focused collection of ballads and melodic pieces that once again bring his interpretive range and the timeless quality of his voice to the fore.

The LP "Tchaikovsky & Sibelius: Violin Concertos" by Kyung Wha Chung and the LSO & André Previn is released on Deutsche Grammophon and brings together two core violin concertos of the repertoire in a single recording. The performance places Kyung Wha Chung’s solo part at the center, supported by the London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of André Previn, with a focus on clear articulation and orchestral balance.

The program pairs Tchaikovsky’s powerful, melodically rich violin concerto with Sibelius’s Nordic-influenced yet introverted concerto, demanding different kinds of virtuosity and expression. Chung is distinguished by a lean, radiant tone and precise intonation; her phrasing highlights both the lyrical arches and the technically demanding climaxes. The collaboration with the orchestra and conductor creates a well-balanced tension between soloist and ensemble.

This recording is regarded as a landmark in Chung’s discography and contributed significantly to her international recognition; reviews and recommendations emphasized the clarity of interpretation and stylistic assurance. For listeners interested in classical violin concertos, the LP offers a historically significant and musically convincing reference recording.

The “Orphée” LP by Jóhann Jóhannsson is released on Deutsche Grammophon and marks his first album for the label. Conceived as a meditation on the Orpheus myth and the artistic creative process, the work traces a path from darkness into light. On “Orphée,” Jóhannsson is not only the composer, but also plays piano, electronics, and both pipe and electric organs; his compositions combine solo cello and organ passages with string quartet, string orchestra, and a cappella scenes, and he also employs unusual sound sources such as shortwave numbers stations.

Musically, the release is driven by precise arrangements and a wide diversity of forces: contributions come, among others, from Hildur Guðnadóttir and Clarice Jensen on cello, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble, the AIR Lyndhurst String Orchestra conducted by Anthony Weeden, and the vocal ensemble Theatre of Voices under Paul Hillier; Else Torp and several solo voices are also involved. Jóhannsson’s compositional voice is expanded with additional orchestration and highlighted by subtle electronic transformations. The “Orphée” LP on Deutsche Grammophon presents itself as a focused, multi-layered new composition that interweaves classical scoring with contemporary production techniques.

The *Almost Starlight* 12" by Jem Finer & John Matthias is released on Touch and was produced by Jay Auborn. The record brings together twelve compositions whose conception eludes any simple genre classification; while the label “modern-classical” serves as a rough orientation, the material at the same time points to influences ranging from Arvo Pärt and Terry Riley to Can, Delius, and Alice Coltrane. The instrumentation focuses on the immediate sonority of hurdy-gurdy and violin and explores acoustic spaces with a precision that nonetheless remains open to surprising sonic gestures.

The album was recorded in the summer of 2025 in a medieval church in Devon, a choice that shapes both the architecture of the space and the atmospheric warmth of the material. Jay Auborn not only provides the production, but also plays cello on several tracks; his work opens up the recordings through a sensitive engagement with acoustics and spatial imagination, allowing the compositions to appear within a wide, light-filled sonic field. Mastering and visual design complement the organic approach of the recording.

Jem Finer brings in his long-standing engagement with systems and sound instruments—including his fascination with the hurdy-gurdy and projects such as *Longplayer*—while John Matthias, with a background in theoretical physics and multifaceted collaborations, works toward richness and formal clarity. Together, on *Almost Starlight* they probe the possibilities of acoustic instruments by transferring electronic ways of thinking to purely acoustic means; the result remains demanding yet immediately accessible. The release appears on CD, 12", cassette, and on streaming platforms.

The “Das Wohltemperierte Klavier” LP by Sviatoslav Richter was released on Sony in a carefully prepared edition that presents the complete Books I and II (BWV 846–893). This multi-LP box set has been remastered on 180 g vinyl and, in its design, follows the look of the original Eurodisc releases.

The work itself comprises the 48 preludes and fugues by Johann Sebastian Bach, gathered here in Richter’s recording, which reveals both contrapuntal precision and formal expansiveness. Recorded in the early 1970s in Salzburg/Klessheim, these performances are regarded in professional reception as one of the definitive takes on this cycle.

Musically, Richter’s approach is characterized by clear voice leading, nuanced articulation, and a wide dynamic range; he combines architectural rigor with an immediate pianistic directness, bringing out the subtle inner lines of Bach’s contrapuntal writing with great clarity. The edition also includes an informative booklet and a remastered sound that emphasizes the balance between fidelity to detail and sonic warmth.

The “Continuum II” LP by Víkingur Ólafsson is being released on Deutsche Grammophon and continues the pianist’s exploration of Johann Sebastian Bach as the second installment of his CONTINUUM project. On this release, Ólafsson brings together original keyboard works with his own arrangements and transcriptions, with individual renditions deliberately probing the counterpoint between historical models and contemporary pianistic treatment.

The album was recorded entirely in Ólafsson’s new home studio, “The Nutshell,” in Iceland; this intimate studio environment shapes the sound and at the same time allows for subtle dynamic shadings in his playing. Released in advance was Ólafsson’s arrangement of the “Air” from Orchestral Suite No. 3, an example of his creative rereading of well-known Bach pieces for piano. “Continuum II” will be released digitally, on CD, and on LP, and is programmatically linked to the 2024 launch installment “Continuum” without merely reproducing its repertoire: the focus is on reexamining and renewing established Bach forms through Ólafsson’s personal pianism.

The "In C" LP by Terry Riley is released on Music On Vinyl and is presented here in a reissued edition remastered from the original source material. This release brings Riley’s 1964 composition into focus: the piece is based on 53 short melodic cells that the performers repeat with individual freedom, weaving them into an ever-shifting sonic tapestry. With "In C," Terry Riley presents a work whose pulsing structure and open performance instructions were groundbreaking for the emergence of minimal music and have influenced generations of composers.

This Music On Vinyl edition documents this formal openness on LP and offers the listener a clearly focused presentation of the work; the record comes in a PVC protective sleeve with an included insert. Beyond the original conceptual idea, it is precisely the recurring, slightly shifted motifs that give "In C" its distinctive character and underscore Terry Riley’s role as a driving force of the avant-garde. Anyone exploring the development of experimental classical music will find in this "In C" edition on Music On Vinyl a carefully prepared opportunity to trace Riley’s central work at their own pace.

The “Scarlatti: Sonatas Vol. 3” LP by Angela Hewitt is released on Hyperion and brings together another selection of Domenico Scarlatti’s keyboard sonatas, which Hewitt recorded in January 2026 at the Kulturstiftung Marienmünster. On the LP, Angela Hewitt presents selected pieces including the concluding Sonata in F minor, Kk 466, as well as Sonatas Kk 461 and Kk 420, and in the accompanying notes she explains the decisions behind her take on articulation, tempo, and phrasing. The “Scarlatti: Sonatas Vol. 3” LP places emphasis on clear articulation and a nuanced balance between virtuosic brilliance and lyrical expression, as Hewitt herself describes in the program notes.

The production is overseen by Ludger Böckenhoff, who is also credited as recording engineer; the recordings document Hewitt’s personal approach to her instrument, including her use of the fourth pedal on her Fazioli grand to shape tone color and the musical line. The program released on Hyperion features well-constructed sequences of movements and a manner of playing that highlights detail without pushing technical aspects to the foreground. For listeners following Angela Hewitt’s Scarlatti cycle, this LP adds another carefully considered recording to the series on the Hyperion label.

The "Three Movements From 'Some Kind Of Seasoning'" LP by Warren Burt is released on EM and documents the final sections of an almost six-hour cycle of interactive computer and synthesizer pieces from 1990–91. On EM, Burt presents three focused movements that explore the space between human performance practice and machine behavior, allowing for both the subtlest microtonal progressions and intoxicating sonic collisions. The 12" LP edition is complemented by CD and download versions; the introduction to the work is supplied by the composer himself in extensive liner notes.

Warren Burt, born in the USA in 1949 and based in Australia since 1975, appears here as composer, performer, instrument builder, author, and educator; his approach bridges improvisation and technology by constructing machine-generated environments and then acting improvisationally within their rules. The music is open to humorous moments and to the aesthetic quality of “mistakes”; it draws inspiration from Sun Ra, Elliott Carter, Quincy Jones’ “Setembro,” Charles Ives, Portsmouth Sinfonia, and ancient Greek modes, and is dedicated to Kenneth Gaburo. In the charged field between downbeat, electronica, and leftfield, the material unfolds shifting timbres, from long-sustained electronic textures and seemingly traditional melodic sequences to eruptive, noise-like combinations.

The "La Source" LP by David Norland is released on Denovali and carries the work of the Emmy-nominated composer into a calm yet structured terrain of minimalism and choral music. Known, among other things, for his 2019 album "Glam Tear Stain," Norland weaves his experience as a choirboy and film composer together with electronic elements; the result feels deliberately pared-back and carefully arranged. Denovali presents "La Source" as a contemplative, melody-focused work in which bells, flutes, and harmonic voices play a central role.

Musically, "La Source" is built on recurring patterns and formal play, with tracks like "E-Car Soul" and the title piece "La Source" highlighting the tension between choral vocals and subtly deployed electronic textures. The track list includes several variations on titles that suggest a concept of permutation and anagrammatics, adding an additional formal layer to the album. The release is complemented by remix contributions, including work by NYX and Dark Bardo, as well as a single collaboration with Nat Vazer that expands the project’s range. As an LP, "La Source" allows space for slow unfolding and fine orchestral details, which David Norland presents in cohesive form on Denovali.

The "Pergolesi: Stabat Mater: Salve Regina in A Minor" LP by The King's Consort & Robert King is released on Hyperion and brings together Pergolesi’s best-known sacred works: the Stabat Mater, the Salve Regina in A minor, and the rarely heard antiphon "In coelestibus regnis." The recording relies on a strongly contrasted vocal pairing of soprano Gillian Fisher and countertenor Michael Chance, accompanied by The King's Consort under the direction of Robert King.

The take on the music follows the ensemble’s historically informed approach: reduced instrumentation, precise articulation, and a chamber-like sonic space place the vocal lines at the center and make the text’s dramatic turns audible. Robert King’s performance practice emphasizes clear phrasing and expressive nuance, thereby highlighting the intimate drama of Pergolesi’s late work.

The production was recorded at St Jude-on-the-Hill, Hampstead Garden Suburb; Mark Brown served as producer, with Antony Howell as recording director. The realization is based on King’s own editorial work and the use of period-appropriate instruments, which shapes the sonic balance between voices and continuo.

The release has established itself as a frequently cited reference recording and is singled out in reviews for its structural clarity and vocal transparency. As such, the LP offers an objective, source-based approach to one of the central works of the Italian Baroque.

With the LP “Philip Glass: For Cello,” released on Decca, Camille Thomas takes her creativity to the next level while remaining, on the whole, true to her style. The Franco-Belgian cellist is known for a warm, velvety tone and finely nuanced phrasing that make even minimalist structures feel vivid and immediate. Her playing combines a cultivated classical sound with an open attitude toward contemporary music; she approaches transcriptions and arrangements with the same care she gives to original works. Sonic clarity and a pronounced sensuality in her phrasing allow her to bring out recurring motifs and subtle dynamic shadings. In collaboration with pianists and ensembles, Camille Thomas values a transparent sound and musical precision, lending expressive depth even to stripped-down, meditative compositions. The LP thus offers a focused presentation of her artistic profile.

The “Hope in Shadow” LP by Sheku Kanneh-Mason is released on Decca and brings the cellist together as a soloist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Edward Gardner. The production captures a versatile program for cello and orchestra that ranges from the classical concert repertoire to orchestral arrangements of popular melodies.

The album includes central solo works such as the Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor by Camille Saint-Saëns alongside distinctive pieces like Max Bruch’s “Kol Nidrei” and Ernest Bloch’s “Schelomo.” The program is complemented by orchestral arrangements, including a version of the “Theme from Schindler’s List” that explores the instrument’s expressive potential in cinematic gestures. In selected pieces, transcriptions and arrangements come to the fore, lending the cello new chamber-musical colors and giving the interplay with the orchestra precisely defined space. On this recording, Sheku Kanneh-Mason assumes both the leading solo role and finely tuned, dialog-like passages with the strings of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, while Edward Gardner sharpens the contours of the program sequence. The production is aimed at listeners of classical orchestral music who are interested in the conjunction of concert works and carefully crafted arrangements.

The “Boy & The Heron The: Symphonic Suite For Piano And Orchestra” LP by Joe Hisaishi and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is released on Deutsche Grammophon and documents the concert version of the work as a symphonic suite for piano and orchestra. The recording places the solo piano part at the center and highlights the thematic motifs of the piece in a full orchestral treatment, with dynamic orchestral colors and precise articulations supporting the structural clarity of the suite.

The collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra continues the already established relationship between Hisaishi and the ensemble and builds on earlier projects on Deutsche Grammophon. On the LP, the score is presented in continuous orchestration that explores both delicately chamber-like passages and dense, orchestral climaxes. The production emphasizes a transparent balance between piano and ensemble so that both the melodic line and the orchestral accompaniment remain clearly audible. The conception of the “Boy & The Heron The: Symphonic Suite For Piano And Orchestra” LP centers on Hisaishi’s compositional signature and the impact of his music in a symphonic context, as presented in analog long-play format on Deutsche Grammophon.

An art exhibition in honor of his friend, the painter Victor Hartmann, inspired Mussorgsky to compose his piano cycle
in 1874, the idea of which is simple: a kind of 'first-person narrator' wanders through the gallery and looks at 10
paintings in detail. Maurice Ravel orchestrated them for orchestra in 1922. Giulini's performance with the Chicago
Symphony is regarded as a reference recording. Prokofiev wrote his first symphony in the middle of World War I. In
sound and form, it differs from other works by the composer. No late romantic orchestra, no performance of an hour,
but a classical orchestra and only 15 minutes are needed for his Symphony No. 1, written in 1916/17. The Original
Source Series features 4-track recordings from the '70s remastered by Emil Berliner Studios using 100% analogue
techniques to create the highest possible audio quality. Produced on 180g vinyl by Optimal and housed in deluxe
gatefold editions, featuring additional photos and/or recording documentation.

The “Guitarize The World - Best Of Café Del Mundo” LP by Café Del Mundo is released on Masterworks/Sony Music and brings together a selection that directly reflects the programmatic title: guitar-centered performances are presented in a concise best-of compilation. The collection documents key pieces from the project and places the emphasis on the sonic possibilities of the guitar within a classical framework.

On the LP, Café Del Mundo combines classical sources and more recent arrangements, with the pieces focusing on melody, harmony, and instrumental refinement. The selection offers a cross-section of the project’s work without ranking individual contributions, and clearly highlights the formal character of the release as a best-of. Musical range and attention to detail remain recognizable as defining characteristics.

With the “Guitarize The World - Best Of Café Del Mundo” LP, Masterworks/Sony Music is releasing a physical edition that documents the material presented in an analog format. The combination of the title, the artist name Café Del Mundo, and the Masterworks/Sony Music label underscores the editorial intent of the release and establishes the LP as a summarizing overview of the guitar recordings the project has released to date.

The "Friendship Survival Guide" LP by Adam Wiltzie and Jóhann Jóhannsson is released on Deutsche Grammophon and brings together compositions that fuse electronic textures with orchestral expansiveness. The record explores extended sonic spaces, slowly evolving drones, and a pared-down, precise orchestration that sets the voices of electronic loops against classical instrumentation.

Adam Wiltzie draws on his experience in ambient drone work and collaborative projects like A Winged Victory for the Sullen; Jóhann Jóhannsson is known for combining contemporary orchestration with electronic experimental music. Together they shape a sound world that unites cinematic tension with a sense of intimate camaraderie, without resorting to overly sentimental gestures. Their shared practice reveals itself in the sparsely arranged density where guitar and synthesizer drones interweave with strings and brass.

The compositions employ tape-loop techniques, long, sustained tone fields, and carefully placed orchestral interventions; this combination creates a distinctive balance between controlled mechanics and organic tone color. Pieces move between meditative stillness and subtly charged motion, with melodic fragments acting as leitmotifs while leaving room for atmospheric detail. For listeners interested in the intersection of electronic minimal music and modern orchestral art, the LP offers a clear, precise entry point into both worlds.

Cologne - based composer and multi - instrumentalist Ozan Tekin’s second studio album “Anarya” will be released via Gülbaba Records on May 27 th . Tekin winds his musical journey back from Cologne to Adana with a long layover in Istanbul in “Anarya”. A triangle of migration drawn by musical notation and performance. The album is composed of 14 tracks and each one of them is a sound story that echoes Tekin’s distinct memories from these three cities. “Anarya” is the end product of a process in which Tekin and his upright piano co - tuned each other. It is an artistic representation of the idiosyncratic phenomenon called stimmung in German; a spectrum of tones, moods and atmospheres expressed in personal and instrumental terms. Tekin concludes the piano conversations from his previously released EPs in 2021 (“Anarya I” and “Anarya Ii”). The remarkably catchy melodies and immersive melancholic arpeggios fl ow throughout. The transposed narrative of “Anarya” sprung up from its roots when Tekin came across with a 66 - years old worn out piano in Cologne. Mesmerized by its unique sound, he felt the urge to make recordings with this piano before it fell apart. Aft er spending months learning its mechanics, Tekin recorded his second album with the old upright piano he repaired and brought back to life. The uneasy changes in time signatures and ambient ornamentations with gloomy synths of 80’s, lush strings and room tones set up the atmospheric stage of “Anarya I” in the first five tracks. Following six tracks of the album attempts to revisit Tekin’s emotional and episodic memories in Istanbul. His unaffected absorption into piano music in the first two parts of “Anar ya” are followed by his coyishly joyful tracks later in the album: an idle “ode”, a lost “lament” and a colorful “jam”. These three tracks blend the neoclassical, jazz and ambient sounds of Cologne and Istanbul with sentiments of childhood and rascality in Adana. The piano conversations of Tekin throughout “Anarya” are accompanied by his analogue synthesizers, vocals, bass guitar, Hanitra Wagner’s violin and Berke Can Özcan’s drums , percussions and vibraphone, and Emre Malikler’s mix and mastering. The sou nds of collaboration go deeper and louder as the album’s tracks move forward and Tekin’s memories go backwards simultaneously. Anarya gitmek (“to go back”) is a vernacular saying from Tekin’s hometown Adana and Tekin makes a figurative attempt to migrate b ackwards via the compositions that came into being in his most recent home, Cologne. Having been born out of an upright piano, Tekin’s compositions have instrumental origins, however, due to his constantly mutating sense of belonging, his melodies can’t be pinpointed to any specific heimat . Tekin’s continuously transforming music is an invitation to his listeners to explore and experience his music in their own terms. Tekin’s personal memories that shape “Anarya” is open to new forms of sonic exploration and rearrangement. This openness lies in Tekin’s determined faith in not to be entrenched in any single genre. The immersive intimacy radiating from the collaborative piano conversations in “Anarya” is an invitation signature to his music’s current and fut ure followers. Text by Mehmet Ekinci

Los Angeles based pianist, producer, and songwriter John Carroll Kirby traveled to Pietrasanta, Italy in the summer of 2018 on a self-imposed writing trip. During his stay he composed Tuscany, a two side-long solo piano exploration of this particular geographical envelope, a place where nature is shaped into form.
Kirby would cycle 12 kilometers each day to Cascata di Malbacco, a waterfall with jade pools and silver stone, and the inspiration for Side A of Tuscany. His own Cascata di Malbacco tumbles and shimmers along the piano as a gorgeous eighteen-minute-long improvised piece, some of it polished and some moments left raw.
On a ride to Sant’Anna, twenty-something kilometers away, Kirby took a wrong turn and got lost among the hills, where he encountered several monuments memorializing the victims of the Sant’Anna di Stazzema massacre. The dark history of an abandoned mill house served as the inspiration for the album’s haunting Side B, a eulogy for all of those forgotten by time.
Although Side A is inspired by the natural beauty of a waterfall, and Side B by the cruelty that people can inflict upon others, both pieces revolve around the same seven-note bassline. The idea Kirby is iterating on is the realization that darkness exists inside light, and vice versa; Tuscany is an inquiry into this duality and its consequences.
John Carroll Kirby has recently released records on Leaving Records, Outside Insight and Pinchy & Friends. In the studio and on the road, he’s produced and/or played with Connan Mockasin, Blood Orange, Sebastian Tellier, Shabazz Palaces and Solange.
He recently signed to Stones Throw Records.
Patience is a new outlet for exploring further beyond the break than usual. Inspired by the music perpetually on rotation at HQ – with E2-E4 representing the format’s high tide mark – each release will be one artist’s deep dive down one inspirational wormhole spread across two sides of vinyl, or two side-long sojourns making full use of a round 12” piece of plastic. Set and forget, zone out to tune in.

The “Philip Glass Piano Etudes: Versions” 12" by Vanessa Wagner, released on InFiné, transposes Glass’s piano-centered form into a new electronic realm and lets the originals re-emerge through four contemporary takes. With the “Versions” series, InFiné invites a young generation of composers and producers; Aho Ssan, Carmen Villain, Cucina Povera, and Tauceti draw on Wagner’s pianistic template and shape it into autonomous, downbeat- and leftfield-tinged versions that deconstruct and reassemble both the texture and rhythmic structure of the etudes.

The 12" complements Vanessa Wagner’s extensive work around Philip Glass: her recording “Philip Glass: The Complete Piano Etudes,” released in 2025, formed the starting point for these renditions and met with broad acclaim from both press and audiences. As a result of this project, Wagner received a nomination for the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2026 and continued her sold-out concerts; in parallel, she will curate the program of La Folle Journée de Nantes for 2027 and 2028. The “Philip Glass Piano Etudes: Versions” 12" thus offers a focused, electronically tinged perspective on Glass’s piano work, linking classical pianism with contemporary producer aesthetics.

The “Serious Songs” LP by Sissi Rada is released on Ideal and unites the harp‑spun voice of the Greek composer with carefully constructed, electronically infused arrangements. On the record, Sissi Rada sings German texts and offers new takes on Wagner and Brahms cycles: the A‑side is devoted to the “Fünf Gedichte für eine Frauenstimme,” the B‑side to the “Vier ernsten Gesänge.” Harp and vocals remain central reference points, but are continually pierced by dissonant orchestral textures, prepared piano, classical guitar, and metallic as well as electronic shadings.

At times, passages sound like delicate sequences reminiscent of folk song cycles; elsewhere, brassy interjections and booming percussion moments open up the dramaturgy. On tracks like “Wesendonck 1” and “Wesendonck 2,” she builds hypnotic harmonies and distorted effects, while “Wesendonck 4” combines metallophone chimes and rough synth backdrops. Her take on the Brahms movements works with an ethereal harp, manipulated vocal tracks, and concrète‑like fragments of opera that pull familiar motifs into new temporal contexts.

“Serious Songs” moves between downbeat, electronica, and leftfield without diluting its classical origins; instead, precise sonic details, varieties of production, and subtle references to avant‑garde traditions generate dense, evolving sequences of movements that gradually reveal their depth as you listen.

The “Mi Historia Americana - Sur” LP by Daniil Trifonov and the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra is being released on Deutsche Grammophon; it is announced as a single LP in an orange EcoRecord edition with the subtitle “The Encores.” This edition focuses on a compact selection from the larger “American Story” project and brings Trifonov together in concertante partnership with the orchestra, with the vinyl version highlighting the encores from the series and presenting them as a self-contained listening experience.

At the center of the recording is Daniil Trifonov as the fully articulated focal point, performing both pianistic solo passages and arranged pieces with orchestral accompaniment; the collaboration with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra provides the orchestral foundation for this selection. The release follows the concept of his “American Story” series and connects with Trifonov’s more recent recordings and transcriptions, which reflect his engagement with South and Central American sound worlds. The LP thus offers a focused snapshot of the project and documents the musical connection between pianistic artistry and symphonic accompaniment.

With the LP “Amour,” released on Sony, Esther Abrami presents the next level of her creativity while, on the whole, remaining true to her style. In this context, Abrami appears as a violinist and arranger whose playing links classical virtuosity with a contemporary approach; her tone is at once direct and nuanced, allowing traditional melodic writing and modern production techniques to merge in an elegant way.

Characteristic of Abrami are carefully crafted arrangements for string ensembles and orchestra, as well as collaborations with ensembles that direct their interpretive focus toward women composers and rediscovered works. Her musical signature shows a clear preference for narrative arcs, expressive lines, and a production that brings out voices and instrumental colors with clarity. In this way, “Amour” joins the body of work of an artist who reimagines classical forms and adds a contemporary perspective to the repertoire.

“24” by Alexis Ffrench is released as an LP on Sony and brings together an extensive program of compositions by the British pianist that showcase his blend of classical tradition and popular influences. The selection includes several short, concise pieces and longer, cinematically conceived numbers that explore the middle ground between solo piano and orchestral colors.

Alexis Ffrench has established himself as a representative of the so-called classical soul approach: his playing combines classically trained melodicism with soulful harmonies and modern production elements, where catchy melodic lines meet subtle rhythmic impulses. His background as a classically trained composer and performer shapes the clearly defined themes and the music’s immediate accessibility.

On “24,” Ffrench himself is responsible for both composition and production; the recording and mixing were handled by a team of experienced sound engineers that includes Stefano Civetta, Pierre Gouges, and Damien Quintard, while John Webber took care of the mastering. This lineup creates warm, detailed sonic spaces in which the piano remains the central means of expression, while arrangements subtly underscore the emotional core of the compositions.

The *Songs Of Joy & Peace* double LP by Yo-Yo Ma & Friends is released on Music On Vinyl and presents Yo-Yo Ma’s program, first issued in 2008, in an edition specifically designed for vinyl. The album combines traditional choral and Christmas songs with unconventional arrangements; Ma opens the record with a multi-voice version of “Dona Nobis Pacem,” while modern classics such as “Here Comes The Sun” and jazz-tinged interpretations like “My Favorite Things” are part of the sequence.

The release documents the wide range of collaborations: Diana Krall and Alison Krauss contribute vocals, James Taylor sings “Here Comes The Sun,” Dave Brubeck appears on piano, and instrumental guests such as Chris Botti, Joshua Redman, Jake Shimabukuro, and members of the Silk Road Ensemble round out the lineup. Musically, the spectrum extends from chamber-like intimacy to jazz and world-music colors, all anchored by Ma’s distinctive cello playing. Music On Vinyl offers this edition as a double LP on 180-gram vinyl; the package includes a four-page booklet with credits and additional background information on how the recordings came about. This edition presents the complete concert recording with a playing time of about 90 minutes and is supplemented by an extensive booklet containing background essays and program notes. Vladimir Horowitz is captured here in one of the late highlights of his career; Sony has prepared and issued the release as a full-length concert recording.

The program of "The Legendary Berlin Concert 18th May 1986" comprises solo piano works by Domenico Scarlatti, Robert Schumann, and Franz Liszt, whose contrasting sound worlds Horowitz explores with nuanced pacing and distinctive dynamics. The evening’s sequence offers both virtuosic Scarlatti sonatas and romantic character pieces, providing a cross-sectional view of Horowitz’s interpretive range. This Sony edition thus brings a historically significant live event into focus and expands the artist’s available discography with a fully documented concert recording.

The “Beethoven: String Quartet No. 16 – The Final Statement” LP by Quartet Integra is released on Yarlung and documents the performance of Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 16 in F major, Op. 135. With this release, Quartet Integra presents a key late work by Beethoven on LP and uses the title “The Final Statement” as a programmatic reference to the historical status of this quartet. This edition clearly centers on the single work and makes the formal and contrapuntal subtleties of the sequence of movements audible, so that the structure between the Larghetto introduction and the tightly constructed finale is sharply delineated.

The subtitle “The Final Statement” refers to the position of Opus 135 as Beethoven’s last fully completed string quartet; this perspective forms the interpretive framework of the recording. Quartet Integra approaches the material with an emphasis on balance of sound and articulatory clarity, thereby highlighting the dialogic interplay between the parts. The LP by Quartet Integra released on Yarlung is thus a deliberate presentation of this endpoint of the quartet repertoire and offers listeners a focused, work-centered interpretation of late Beethoven.

The “Lux Natalis” LP by Dresdner Kreuzchor is released on Berlin Classics and bears the English subtitle “Christmas With Dresdner Kreuzchor.” The cover features the name Martin Lehmann, signaling the artistic direction of the recording. The release presents the choir in a Christmas-themed program and associates the title “Lux Natalis” with familiar festive motifs.

The program of the “Lux Natalis” LP focuses on classic Christmas music and sacred choral pieces, performed by Dresdner Kreuzchor with vocal precision. The selection centers on liturgical and choral traditions of the feast day and draws on the characteristic tonal colors of a boys’ choir to shape festive melodies and choral textures. The choir’s takes on the repertoire emphasize clearly articulated voices and homogeneous vocal groups, without delving into the specifics of individual arrangements.

As an LP on Berlin Classics, “Lux Natalis” offers a physical presentation of this Christmas program and adds to the label’s existing choral releases. The combination of Dresdner Kreuzchor, the title “Lux Natalis,” and the Berlin Classics label makes this LP a documented recording of classic Christmas repertoire in the choir’s catalog.

The “Upturned Cup” LP by The Hands Free is being released on New Amsterdam Recs. On their second album, James Moore (guitar & banjo), Caroline Shaw (violin), Nathan Koci (accordion), and Eleonore Oppenheim (double bass) bring together eight new compositions that weave chamber music, jazz improvisation, and folk music. The pieces move between carefully worked-out themes and open, improvisatory passages; time and again, surprising rhythmic shifts and chamber-like density create vivid moments. Titles such as “Upturned Cup,” “Chrysalis,” and “Roommate of the Year” showcase the range of the arrangements and the group’s collective compositional language.

The album was produced by James Moore together with The Hands Free; it was recorded at Brooklyn Recording with Sascha von Oertzen and Andy Taub, mixed by von Oertzen, and mastered by Josh Bonati. All compositions are credited to the band, with individual authors being Nathan Koci, James Moore, Eleonore Oppenheim, and Caroline Shaw. Photography and still lifes are by Dagmara Lauk, with design by Eva Imber and Deirdre Jernigan. New Amsterdam Recs is offering “Upturned Cup” in physical LP and CD formats; the release documents the musical exchange of an ensemble that has been working together since its 2018 debut.

The "East Meets West" LP by Anne Akiko Meyers is released on Avie and presents the violinist in dialogue with pianist Li Jian. The program on this Avie release combines classical sonata repertoire by Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel with contemporary works by Japanese composers, focusing on the exchange between two musical worlds. Anne Akiko Meyers shapes the repertoire with precise articulation and nuanced sound, while Li Jian explores the piano part with sensitive accompaniment and contrapuntal balance.

The recording includes the world premiere recording of Somei Satoh’s "Birds in Warped Time II," as well as Olivier Messiaen’s "Thème et variations" and Toru Takemitsu’s "Distance de Fée," complemented by the violin sonatas by Debussy and Ravel. Producer David Frost and recording engineer Tim Martyn captured the sessions in Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood; recorded over the course of two days, the album emphasizes transparency and space for dynamic subtleties. The "East Meets West" LP on Avie thus offers a thoughtfully curated program that places familiar sonata repertoire alongside modern musical idioms and clearly highlights Anne Akiko Meyers’s commitment to contemporary music and her ear for stylistic contrasts.

The program includes Joaquín Rodrigo’s “Tiento Antiguo” and the famous “Concierto de Aranjuez” as well as Isaac Albéniz’s movement “Asturias” from the Suite Española No. 1, which are presented on the LP in the same order as in the concert performance. The “Danny Elfman: Cello Concerto & Film Music” LP by Gautier Capuçon and the BBC Concert Orchestra with Li Bringuier is released on Erato and brings together the composer Danny Elfman’s concerto of the same name with selected orchestral arrangements of his film music. In doing so, Erato documents a tangible connection between Elfman’s concert compositions and his cinematic oeuvre, interpreted by soloist Gautier Capuçon and accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra.

At the heart of the album is Elfman’s Cello Concerto, originally written for Gautier Capuçon and already performed in concert with the cellist; this recording captures Capuçon’s solo part in a nuanced and technically precise reading. The program is complemented by orchestral versions of selected film themes, which on the LP reflect Elfman’s contrasting musical language between lyrical writing and dramatic orchestral color. The recording and studio context underline the meticulous production for which Erato is responsible on this release.

With the “Danny Elfman: Cello Concerto & Film Music” LP, Erato delivers a carefully curated portrait that unites both Elfman’s concert-music side and his cinematic sound world in a vinyl presentation. Gautier Capuçon, the BBC Concert Orchestra, and Li Bringuier emerge as the performing forces that prominently showcase Elfman’s work on this Erato release.

The “Les Quatre Saisons du Québec” LP by Orchestre Filmharmonique is released on Atma Classique. In this new work, François Dompierre takes his inspiration from the tradition of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and creates a multi-layered musical portrait of the seasons in Québec; the piece is scored for violin and string orchestra and translates impressions of the landscape into orchestral colors.

Dompierre’s style combines his experience as a film composer with classical forms: melodic solo lines alternate with dense string textures, while rhythmic figures and gestural motives bring out the seasonal moods with precision. The composition draws on echoes of Baroque concerto traditions without abandoning contemporary sonic means, creating a personal, narrative sense of tension.

The recording focuses on the chamber-like interplay between solo violin and ensemble; the performances are by Orchestre FILMharmonique under the direction of Francis Choinière, who bridges cinematic storytelling and symphonic expression. As a documentary rendering on LP, the production captures the detailed precision of the arrangements and the expressive gestures of the strings, convincingly highlighting François Dompierre’s contemporary contribution to the cycle of the seasons.

The "Softenings For 7 Flutes" LP by Viibra is released on Dacapo and brings together a work created especially for the ensemble that systematically explores the sonic space of an all-flute instrumentation. The recording documents music that is less oriented toward conventional melody than toward subtle shifts in sound and formal condensations; the record places emphasis on details of articulation, breath control, and timbre that render the septet audible as a collective instrument.

The title work "Softenings for 7 flutes" was written by Danish composer Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard and conceived for Viibra; parts of the material were presented in concert premieres in which the boundaries between composition, sound art, and performative research were probed. The composition follows the guiding idea of "softenings" as a structural principle and relies on slow formal progressions, textural densifications, and precise ensemble coordination.

Viibra is a seven-piece flute ensemble originating in Reykjavík, formed in 2016 in the context of Björk’s project "Utopia" and since then dedicated to exploring extended flute techniques and sonic polyphony. Its members include, among others, Áshildur Haraldsdóttir, Berglind María Tómasdóttir, Björg Brjánsdóttir, Dagný Marinósdóttir, Sólveig Magnúsdóttir, Steinunn Vala Pálsdóttir, and Þuríður Jónsdóttir; their ensemble identity and experience from theater and touring productions shape the chamber-music precision of this release.

The “Mirador” LP by Jean-Michel Blais is released on Mercury and translates the Canadian’s characteristic piano core into a more expansive, narrative soundscape. On his fourth album, Blais consciously moves away from reductive minimalism in favor of a more generous maximalism that creates space for choir, strings, and ethnic instruments, integrating the piano into orchestral arrangements.

The compositions range from Andean inflections to sacred, almost choral moments; pieces like “carnavalito,” “kyrie,” and “granada” directly reference a stylistic breadth that spans folk- and church-music idioms all the way to courtly dances. This blend produces a dense, multi-faceted sonic space in which intimate melodies correspond with sweeping, cinematic arcs.

Thematically, the work is rooted in autobiographical memories: the recollection of a childhood in Nicolet, Quebec, and a hiding place filled with everyday objects that serves as a starting point for an imaginary world. For the visual realization, Blais once again collaborated with filmmaker Adrian Villagomez; joint artwork, visualizers, and a feature-length film complement the musical narrative and underscore the project’s cinematic quality.

The "American Tunes #1" LP by Anne‑Sophie Mutter is released on Alpha Classics and presents selected works by American composers in a tightly woven chamber‑music program on record.

At the center is André Previn with his Concerto for Violin and String Orchestra, complemented by harpsichord interludes in which Knut Johannessen and Mutter's Virtuosi participate as equal partners. The instrumentation underscores the connection between orchestral gesture and delicately wrought chamber music, spanning a bridge between tradition and a highly personal sound world.

Sebastian Currier's "Ringtone Variations" provides a contemporary counterpoint on the LP: the concept of the piece works with familiar sonic fragments and is interpreted here by Anne‑Sophie Mutter in a duo with double bassist Roman Patkoló. The program is rounded out by a trio by André Previn with Daniel Müller‑Schott on cello and Lambert Orkis on piano, combining chamber‑music intimacy with compositional refinement.

The compilation highlights different facets of the American musical language — from melodic warmth and orchestral writing to pointed modernity — and places Anne‑Sophie Mutter at the center as an interpreter who brings together both classical lines and contemporary impulses.

The “Chopin: Piano Sonatas Nos. 2 & 3” LP by Marc-André Hamelin is released on Hyperion and brings together the two central piano sonatas Op. 35 and Op. 58, plus the Berceuse Op. 57, in a version prepared specifically for the medium. The pressing is part of Hyperion’s Vinyl Edition 2026 and was mastered for 180 g vinyl; the recordings themselves date from March 2008 and have been newly remastered for this release.

Marc-André Hamelin, heard here alone at the piano, approaches the sonatas with the technically immaculate articulation and formal clarity that define his repertoire, poised between heavyweight virtuosity and historical sensitivity. Production was handled by Andrew Keener, with Simon Eadon in charge of the recording; lacquer cutting and LP mastering were carried out by Sidney Claire Meyer at Emil Berliner Studio. The translucent, richly detailed sonic frame highlights both the filigree figurations and the dramatic spans of the Funeral March Sonata.

Musically, the recording is distinguished by a finely tuned sensitivity to Chopin’s formal idiosyncrasies: the juxtaposition of contrasting musical worlds in Op. 35 and the strict motivic work in Op. 58 emerge with great clarity. The addition of the Berceuse broadens the perspective on Chopin’s late-Romantic subtleties and makes this LP an objectively grounded reference recording within Hamelin’s Hyperion discography.

The "Brahms: The Violin Sonatas" LP by David Kaplan and Mark Kaplan is released on Orchid Classics and brings together Johannes Brahms’s three violin sonatas in concentrated, chamber-music interpretations. Here, father and son appear together on record for the first time, which lends the recording a particularly intimate dimension.

The approach places importance on clear musical lines and a well-balanced interplay: the violin articulates the cantabile themes with a warm timbre, while the piano provides both harmonic grounding and propulsive accompaniment. Technical subtleties of the score are worked out with precision, without obscuring the broad, symphonic conception of the sonatas.

Recording, production, and choice of instruments all contribute to the sonic density: the sonatas were recorded in a short session, producer Eric Silberger oversaw the project, and the sound engineering emphasizes naturalness and spatial definition; Mark Kaplan plays his historic Stradivarius, with David Kaplan at the piano.

The release presents itself as a focused, text-faithful account of classic chamber music that explores both the lyrical and the powerful sides of Brahms’s sonatas. The performers’ close musical rapport makes this take on the works particularly coherent and offers an individual perspective on this central repertoire.

The "Beethoven: The Complete String Quartets" LP by Cuarteto Casals is released on Harmonia Mundi and brings together the recordings that present the cycle in a newly conceived tripartite structure. The edition follows the concept chosen by the ensemble, rearranging the quartets according to the three major creative periods of Beethoven’s work — early, middle, and late — in order to make familiar pieces audible from a different sonic and dramaturgical perspective.

Cuarteto Casals, based in Barcelona and active internationally, brings long-standing chamber-music experience and an intensive chamber-music practice to this recording. The ensemble is known for its balanced voicing, homogeneous sound balance, and clearly articulated phrasing, qualities that also come to the fore in this complete recording.

Musically, the recording is characterized by carefully shaped formal clarity and nuanced dynamic shading; even the complex late quartets are interpreted with precise structural control and a pronounced sense of inner balance. As a complete cycle, the collection offers listeners the opportunity to trace Beethoven’s development as a unified compositional trajectory while at the same time experiencing individual works in a new conceptual context.

The “Der Nussknacker” LP by Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic is released on Warner and documents Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet in its complete orchestral version. The recording places the focus on the distinctive dance scenes — from the Sugar Plum Fairy to the flower and march movements — and translates the work’s narrative finesse into clear orchestral images.

Sir Simon Rattle leads the orchestra with a take on transparency and balance that emphasizes the wealth of detail in the woodwind and string writing as well as the subtle colors of the percussion. This reading brings out rhythmic subtleties and the contrasting tone colors of the individual dances without diluting the ballet’s dramatic architecture.

As an LP, this edition offers a physical document of the recording that preserves the orchestral dynamics and the delicate textures of the arrangement. For collectors and lovers of classical ballet music, the production serves as a reliable reference that accurately captures both Tchaikovsky’s compositional variety and Sir Simon Rattle’s interpretive signature.

The LP “The Poem Of Life” by Yu-Peng Chen is released on Deutsche Grammophon and brings together a symphonic suite in twelve movements, conceived as a musical journey through the stages of human existence. The composition sketches scenes from the first breath and first love to moments of farewell, combining programmatic ambition with chamber music-like attention to detail.

For the performance, Chen has fused sweeping orchestral sonorities with traditional Chinese instrumentation: the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zhang Liang provides the sonic foundation, augmented by erhu, pipa, guzheng, and sheng. Guest soloists violinist Daniel Hope and mandolinist Avi Avital contribute, bringing soloistic virtuosity and folk-tinged colors into the orchestration.

Musically, the work moves between lyrical melody and powerful orchestral waves; Yu-Peng Chen once again demonstrates his ability to weave symphonic tradition together with a narrative soundtrack style. The movements alternate between introspective moments and large-scale orchestral tableaux, with the integration of Chinese tone colors shaping the overall character and positioning the suite as a personal, cross-cultural statement. This focus makes the LP a bridge between the classical concert repertoire and contemporary film-music aesthetics.

The Crystal Clear Vinyl Edition of the “Symphony No. 3 Metaphysica & Harp Concerto” LP by Joe Hisaishi, released on Deutsche Grammophon, presents the composer’s two major orchestral works on a physical medium and transfers their orchestral detail and dynamic contrasts to the vinyl format. The pairing makes the juxtaposition of symphonic breadth and concertante solo poetry audible and places the compositions in the context of Hisaishi’s more recent, classically oriented creative period.

Joe Hisaishi has long since moved beyond being “just” a film composer; his work ranges from minimalist‑tinged beginnings to opulent orchestral scores that combine melodic immediacy with contemporary rhythmic and coloristic layering. His experience as a conductor and arranger, as well as his close collaboration with major orchestras, informs the density and clarity of his scores; characteristic features include clearly contoured melodies and meticulous instrumentation that emphasizes soloistic colors.

“Metaphysica” (Symphony No. 3) ranks among his large‑scale symphonic projects, while the Harp Concerto places the instrument’s soloistic virtuosity and timbral richness at center stage; the Harp Concerto has been performed, among other occasions, on major U.S. and European tours. Both works illustrate Hisaishi’s transition toward a contemporary orchestral idiom that unites cinematic emotionality with formal precision.

Released on Deutsche Grammophon, the LP “Immortal” by David Garrett marks the next level of his creativity while, on the whole, staying true to his style. In his playing, Garrett combines classical virtuosity with popular sound worlds; technical brilliance and clear phrasing form the framework on which he repeatedly builds new arrangements of great melodies. Characteristic of him are expressive tempi and a keen sense of dramatic arcs that bring both soloistic brilliance and orchestral breadth to the fore. His take on the material relies less on showmanship than on precision and an immediate musicality that casts familiar themes in a fresh context. In Garrett’s work, the repertoire often ranges from Baroque movements and Romantic miniatures to modern adaptations of popular songs; on this LP, that range appears in concentrated, carefully considered arrangements. For listeners who appreciate virtuosic violin playing combined with an open approach to different stylistic worlds, “Immortal” offers a clear, stylistically grounded contribution to David Garrett’s body of work.

“Italiana!” by Riccardo Muti / The Philharmonic Brass presents selected highlights of the Italian musical tradition in arrangements for an all‑brass ensemble, transforming well‑known opera and orchestral works into a radiant, compact sound world. The LP gathers pieces from the Baroque era to the 20th century and focuses on melodic lines and orchestral colors that the brass brings out with fresh dramatic impact.

The ensemble unites musicians from the ranks of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics as well as other renowned orchestras; under the direction of Riccardo Muti, who for the first time oversees a recording with an all‑brass ensemble, the result is interpretations that are both precise and vibrant. The repertoire includes, among others, the “Adagio in G Minor” (Albinoni/Giazotto), the overture to “Guillaume Tell” by Rossini, Verdi’s sinfonia from “Nabucco,” the intermezzo from “Manon Lescaut,” Martucci’s “Notturno,” and Respighi’s “Via Appia.” Arrangements are contributed, among others, by Matthias Höfs and Claudio Speranzini.

The recording is distinguished by clear articulation, finely graded dynamics, and a warm yet brilliantly defined brass sound; engineering and production provide transparency and a vivid sense of space that does justice to the special instrumentation. Released on Supreme Classics, “Italiana!” brings together the stylistic breadth of Italian music in a concise, carefully crafted sequence of pieces.

The “OST Spider-Noir Prime Original Series” compiles selections from the original music for the Prime Video series and presents the score work of Kris Bowers & Michael Dean Parsons on an LP on Masterworks. The collection combines film score writing with vocal interludes: opening the album is “Saving Grace” by Kirby; also included are a cover version of “Dream a Little Dream of Me” and “The Devils You Know,” written by Oak Felder and Sebastian Kole and sung by Li Jun Li.

Musically, the work moves between classic noir-style jazz and modern orchestral suspense; this blend creates a sound world that links the 1930s atmosphere of the source material with contemporary film score dramaturgy. The arrangements alternate between muted jazz forms and sweeping orchestral textures, supporting both intimate scenes and large-scale moments.

Kris Bowers brings his experience from scores such as “Bridgerton” and “Green Book” to the collaboration, while Michael Dean Parsons has already worked on major television projects; the duo combines melodic clarity with dramatic texture without unnecessary effect. For listeners who appreciate delicate themes and noir-inspired sounds, the LP offers a dense, stylistically assured listening experience.

“Sing Me Home” by Yo-Yo Ma is released by Music On Vinyl as an elaborately produced double LP and documents the work of the Silk Road Ensemble in a physical edition that emphasizes the project’s polyphonic, multi-voiced character. The record brings together traditional songs and newly arranged pieces developed by members of the ensemble; it is also available as a special colored edition.

Musically, the ensemble moves between classical chamber music and global folk music, weaving instruments such as sheng, shakuhachi, and regional wind instruments together with violin, cello, and guitar. The recordings and arrangements aim at a dense, richly textured sonic world in which Yo‑Yo Ma, as the cellist, acts as part of a collective sonic fabric and does not always stand in the foreground. This form of cross-cultural exchange was conceived as the album’s guiding principle.

Key features of the release are the prominent guest contributions and the production: voices such as Rhiannon Giddens, Sarah Jarosz, Abigail Washburn, Gregory Porter, Lisa Fischer, as well as guitarist Bill Frisell expand the ensemble; production duties were handled by ensemble member Johnny Gandelsman and multiple award-winning engineer Kevin Killen. The recording was created as a companion project to the documentary film about the ensemble and went on to win a Grammy.

This edition is aimed at listeners interested in the intersection of classical performance practice and global musical diversity, and it presents the collective signature of the Silk Road project in a carefully edited LP format.

From the mountains of Madrid comes Antinoë, the haunting one-woman project of pianist and vocalist Teresa Marraco. With her ethereal voice and stark, piano-driven arrangements, Antinoë shapes soundscapes where neoclassical elegance collides with the atmospheric weight of metal, weaving music that is at once fragile, immersive, and profoundly melancholic. Fans of artists like Agnes Obel or Enya will find resonance here, yet Antinoë’s world is darker, steeped in reflection, loss, and yearning.
Since its inception in 2021, Antinoë has embraced a uniquely personal approach to darkness, building her songs around intimate piano compositions intertwined with her rich, resonant voice. Marraco’s background in extreme music further anchors her vision: she has collaborated with acts such as Coldborn, Elffor, Balmog, and Empty, and recorded the piano/keyboard parts for Dimmu Borgir’s live performance of Det Nye Riket at Beyond the Gates Festival. Her 2023 debut, “Whispers from the Dark Past”, an acoustic reinterpretation of 90s Norwegian black metal classics, garnered critical attention and cemented her distinctive identity on the border between metal and neoclassical expression.
Now, Antinoë unveils her first full-length album of original material: “The Fold”. A conceptual journey that navigates the acceptance of death, tracing the process of “folding inward,” to confront different stages of grief, one by one, inviting us to walk a deeply personal path that nonetheless exposes universal themes such as existentialism and the embracing of chaos as a necessary part of oneself. With “The Fold”, Antinoë transcends genre boundaries to deliver music that is delicate, symphonic, and unflinchingly dark, an invitation to step into shadows and discover their hidden beauty.

Guitarist, composer and producer Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, 13 million year old ghost) and Chaikin Records proudly present 41 Strings, a song cycle for string orchestra, electric guitars and expanded rhythm section. This four-movement composition was originally commissioned for a large-scale Earth Day event and draws inspiration from and pays tribute to the four seasons. Notable performances over the years include those at Sydney Opera House, London's Royal Festival Hall and NYC's Rockefeller Center. Each performance of the piece features stellar special guests; previous guests have included Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith), Paul Banks (Interpol), Sarah Lipstate (Noveller, Iggy Pop) among many more. The rhythm section features members of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio and Boredoms. 41 Strings's compositional style is purposefully simple, lyrical and minimal; each of the four season's is treated as its own distinct 'character' to conjure a sentimental link of association, experience and environment.

The “Sixteen Carols For Christmas” LP by the Choir of King's College is released by Warner and brings together sixteen Christmas carols that make full use of the acoustic space of the King's College Chapel in Cambridge. The recording combines choir performances under the direction of Sir David Willcocks, Philip Ledger, and Stephen Cleobury, and documents the choir’s characteristic vocal balance across a concise vinyl album.

The program of “Sixteen Carols For Christmas” combines familiar choral settings such as “Hark! the Herald Angels Sing” and “O Come, All Ye Faithful” with more contemplative, solo-centered moments; alongside established arrangements, John Tavener’s “The Lamb” appears as a contemporary contribution that highlights the wide-ranging programming of the release. With this LP, Warner offers a focused point of entry into traditional and contemporary Christmas works, while preserving the natural ambience of the choral recordings. The “Sixteen Carols For Christmas” LP by the Choir of King's College thus presents a compact selection of core repertoire pieces and exemplary interpretations from the King’s College choral tradition, complementing the ensemble’s Warner discography with a clearly defined collection of Christmas choral works.

The “Instincta” LP by Suena is being released on Sony Classical and marks her debut as a performing artist with her own compositions for piano and strings; the release is scheduled for the fall. Having previously worked as a producer and songwriter for acts such as Apache 207, Herbert Grönemeyer, and Capital Bra, Suena presents with “Instincta” a collection of melodious, sonorous pieces that fuse classical instrumentation with contemporary production elements. She describes her approach as “Modern Disney,” relying in the arrangements on a dense interplay of romantic melody and modern studio aesthetics.

Musically, “Instincta” brings together the intimacy specific to the piano with the spaciousness carried by the strings; influences from Chopin and Debussy are complemented by production techniques from the pop realm, resulting in a sound that is both direct and finely nuanced. The digital single “Primapulsa” was released as a first taste and is accompanied by a video that focuses on Suena’s transition from the producer’s chair to the concert grand. Live performances, for example at Classic Open Air, have already served to present selected pieces and underscore the performative character of the LP. “Instincta” on Sony Classical introduces Suena for the first time in her own sound-shaping role.

The “Worms: L'enquête” LP by Nicolas Worms is released on Alpha Classics and takes the composer and pianist into a performative space between composition and investigation. Nicolas Worms, who developed the concept of «music-fiction» and has already appeared on Alpha Classics with the “FLOT” series, uses his own sonic aesthetic on this release to interweave narrative threads and formal ruptures.

At the heart of “Worms: L'enquête” are four keyboard instruments — concert grand piano, CP-70 electric piano, Prophet V analog synthesizer, and a modular system — which Worms deploys as sonic “evidence.” The LP’s program is structured in four parts and a coda; some pieces follow the character of a toccata or a nocturne, others grow from improvisatory moments into striking melodies, while still others work with abstract structures. This sequence allows for shifting perspectives and a tightening dramatic arc in which composed forms and free modes of playing meet head‑on.

Alpha Classics presents “Worms: L'enquête” as a consistent continuation of Worms’s work as a storyteller at the piano; the LP focuses on the artist’s sonic research and presents a dense, multi-layered engagement with instruments and form.

The “Shall We Gather” LP by VOCES8 and Ringmasters was released on Voces8 and brings together the British vocal ensemble VOCES8 and the Swedish barbershop champions Ringmasters in a joint program. The production documents a series of carefully arranged vocal pieces and showcases the particular balance between choral settings and tight‑knit close‑harmony writing that emerges from the collaboration of the two ensembles.

The release’s repertoire ranges from Renaissance and sacred works to contemporary compositions and meticulously crafted cover arrangements: names such as Giovanni Gabrieli, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Franz Biebl, and Eric Whitacre appear alongside arrangements of traditional melodies and popular songs like “The Fool on the Hill” and “I’ll Be There,” with arranging contributions by Blake Morgan and Rasmus Krigström. The 13‑track collection places a strong emphasis on vocal nuance and finely wrought polyphony.

The album was recorded at the VOCES8 Centre in London and has a total running time of approximately 62 minutes. Released on Voces8, the LP offers a concise listening experience with documentary clarity that appeals both to fans of classical choral repertoire and to admirers of finely crafted a cappella arrangements.

The “Winter Wonderland” LP by German Gents is released on Berlin Classics and presents the vocal quartet in a carefully arranged selection of Christmas pieces. The four singers, who emerged from the ranks of former members of renowned choirs, combine classical vocal technique with contemporary precision; on the album they showcase this blend in clear a cappella arrangements that encompass both German folk tunes and international evergreens. The production focuses on vocal transparency and harmonic density, allowing familiar melodies to sound in new yet still recognizable guises.

“Winter Wonderland” includes a range of well-known pieces such as “Let It Snow!”, “Last Christmas”, “O Tannenbaum” and “Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht”, along with more rhythmically driven holiday numbers and multilingual contributions that cover a broad repertoire. The track selection and the stripped-down, voice-centered arrangements favor intimacy and finely detailed sound without sacrificing festive playfulness. Released in late November 2025, the album builds on the German Gents’ work to date and further refines their profile as a quartet that interprets traditional songs in a contemporary way.

The “Rachmaninov: Piano Concerto No. 3 / Moments Musicaux” LP by Idil Biret / Alexander Dmitriev / Leningrad Symphony Orchestra is released on Naxos and brings together the recording of the Third Piano Concerto and the “Moments Musicaux,” Op. 16. This compilation focuses on the concertante interplay between soloist and orchestra as well as on the contrasting palette of piano miniatures that Rachmaninov condensed into this cycle.

Idil Biret appears here as a renowned Rachmaninov interpreter; her extensive oeuvre on Naxos documents a deep engagement with the Russian repertoire and is characterized by a combination of technical brilliance and tonal sensuality. The present recording makes these qualities clearly audible, from the densely woven orchestral dialogue to the finely detailed articulation of the solo passages.

Alexander Dmitriev and the Leningrad Symphony Orchestra provide the large-scale orchestral framework that lends the concerto its expansive drama; their collaboration emphasizes both the orchestral colors and the dialogic role of the piano. Overall, the LP presents a faithful reading of Rachmaninov’s work—virtuosic, nuanced, and stylistically assured—and thus offers a clear insight into the concertante side of Biret’s pianistic artistry.

The "Violin Concerto" LP by Ludwig van Beethoven is released on Vinyl Passion and brings together a historic recording with Zino Francescatti as soloist and Bruno Walter leading the Columbia Symphony Orchestra. The original recordings have been remastered and pressed on 180-gram audiophile vinyl; the album comes in a gatefold sleeve that presents the recording as a carefully prepared reissue edition.

Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 is regarded as a work of great breadth and lyricism, distinguished by expansive arches and the extended Larghetto as a source of inner calm. The conception of the concerto, with its dialogic relationship between solo instrument and orchestra, creates space for nuanced phrasing and a vocal, singing tone that comes clearly to the fore in this presentation.

Francescatti’s take on the concerto is characterized by slender, lyrical lines and a warm, singing tone, while Bruno Walter shapes the orchestral accompaniment with restraint and nuance; together, they underscore the chamber-like character of the work. The remastering work aims to enhance transparency and detail, so that solo passages and orchestral dialogues can be heard with new clarity.

The "Éternité" LP by Grégoire Gerstmans is released on PIAS Belgium and presents the work of a pianist who deliberately explores the nuances between classical and contemporary music.

In his pieces, Gerstmans weaves a delicate fabric of pared-down piano phrases, sparingly used strings, and atmospheric stretches of calm that leave the listener room for reflection. Stylistically, it belongs to the neo-classical realm, moves at the intersection with modern chamber music, and follows an aesthetic that shows affinities with artists such as Joep Beving and Arvo Pärt without ever copying them. Thematically, the compositions revolve around time, memory, and lingering in the moment.

As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, Grégoire Gerstmans shapes the pieces with a clear signature; the production focuses on natural timbres, precise articulation, and an intimate sense of space. The release features carefully crafted arrangements that work both in solo form and in chamber-music settings, giving the album a consistent, contemplative character.

Key characteristics of this LP are the consistent reduction of musical means and the clear dramaturgy of the compositions, which mark Gerstmans as an independent voice in today's neo-classical field. The release places the focus squarely on the work itself and on the artistic signature of the performer.
