FloFilz’s new album Hagaki is a musical love letter to Japan—a sonic travel log that blends jazz and beats with Japanese music and culture. Recorded in both Berlin and Tokyo, FloFilz invited fellow musicians, beatmakers, and singers such as Takuya Kuroda, Nao Yoshioka, Toshiki Soejima, Budamunk, and Matt Wilde to join him on his journey. Acclaimed music and travel photographer Robert Winter was responsible for the outstanding visuals that accompany the album.

In 2014, FloFilz and Melting Pot Music launched an album series that explores the culture, vibe, and landscape of cities he loves—both musically and visually. The visual side is handled by Robert Winter, a well-known music and travel photographer immersed in Germany’s hip-hop and beat producer scene. For the first album, Metronom, FloFilz, Robert Winter, and Melting Pot Music founder Olski traveled to Paris. For Cenário (2016) and Transit (2019), they visited Lisbon and London. Each album is released as a high-quality gatefold edition and includes a 20-page photo book.

For Hagaki, the fourth volume in the series, FloFilz traveled to Japan, where he spent a full month working on music and visuals. Hagaki means "postcard" in Japanese. The album is a multidisciplinary love letter and a dialogue with Japanese culture and music. FloFilz had visited Japan several times before—playing shows in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto; enjoying some of the best food he’d ever had; and discovering rare records in meticulously curated record stores. He also ventured beyond the big cities, hiking through mountains, forests, and along coastlines. These experiences deepened his appreciation for how Japanese culture emphasizes harmony with nature. The attention to detail and sincerity found in Japanese art and craftsmanship are qualities that also define FloFilz's approach to music-making.

Hagaki is dedicated to Tokyo, the Japanese capital and the most populous city in the world, with over 37 million residents. FloFilz, Robert Winter, and Olski immersed themselves in the city and its culture. They visited jazz joints, ramen shops, record stores, tea houses, temples—and even more record stores. They attended performances by local jazz artists like Uyama Hiroto and Manchester’s own Matthew Halsall at the iconic Blue Note club. FloFilz performed at the Jazzy Sport x Roland Anniversary Party and was invited by Ella Records for a DJ set and an in-depth video interview about record culture and digging.

After all, Xzibit's association with Dr. Dre and his Aftermath regime attached very lofty expectations to Restless; X was publicly anointed as the next Sc expected to blow up. Surely, with Dre as executive producer and guest shots from Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Dre himself, Xzibit was virtually assured of acquiring the mainstream success that eluded him on previous efforts (At The speed Of Life 40 dayz & 40 nightz). Thanks largely to Dre's knob-twisting input, Restless became aural kin to Dre's own 2001 comeback vehicle, as the head-nod factor is immediately established on "Front To Back," the heavenly synth stabs "X," and "Get Your Walk On."Tthe main flaw in Restless' formula lies primarily with Xzibit's extensive list of guest collaborators. While contributions from Dre ("U Know"), Snoop ("D.N.A."), and Eminem ("Don't Approach Me") are all welcomed, appearances from DJ Quik and KRS-One, among many others, take the focus off Xzibit's formidable lyrical boasting, which precludes restless from forming a desired level of cohesiveness. On "X," Xzibit pledges to "rearrange the game with my rugged sound," and he periodically delivers on that promise. However, it would have taken nothing short of a masterpiece for Xzibit to appease hip-hop's finicky masses. Marble blue vinyl.

Boogiemonsters were an American hip hop group composed of Bronx born rapper Mondo McCann, Alaskan native Vex Da Vortex (Sean Pollard), and Jamaican born brothers Myntric (Sean Myers) and Yodared (Ivor “Al” Myers). The members met while attending Virginia State University, quickly connected, and began recording demos and performing at campus events. Their early momentum led them to win first place at Howard University’s Hip Hop Convention.
Pendulum/EMI record label signed the four MCs and released their debut album Riders Of The Storm: The Underwater Album in 1994. The first single, “Recognized Thresholds of Negative Stress,” introduced their thoughtful, alternative approach to hip hop. It was followed by "Honeydips in Gotham,” a smooth tribute to the fly sistas of the city, and “Strange,” built around a slick Cameo sample. Another standout track, "Salt Water Taffy (Slo Jam),” is noted as one of the earliest non Roots session appearances by future producer Scott Storch. Future Development is Del the Funky Homosapien's third album and, following his departure from major label Elektra, his first solo full-length for his independent label, Hieroglyphics Imperium Recordings. Originally released on cassette in 1997, and later reissued on CD and vinyl in 2002, the album largely relied on in-house production from Del along with contributions from Hiero crew members A-Plus, Opio, and Toure. The only guest feature on the album is from crew member Casual, who joins Del on the energetic "Checking Out The Rivalry." Sonically, Future Development bridges the funk-heavy stylings of Del's debut with the darker, more futuristic textures he explored on No Need for Alarm. Rashad and Confidence announce the vinyl reissue of their debut album “The Element Of Surprise”. Though originally released in 2011, the melange of soul samples, classic breaks and favoring of lyrical storytelling / conceptual joints could easily have been released in the 90’s. The 2xLP vinyl edition includes the 2019’s single “Desires” as well as two never before heard tracks from the 2011 sessions entitled “Non Stop” and “Feel It.” Rashad, a Brooklyn NY emcee who sports a nimble and rapid flow excels at making anthemic choruses interspersed with highly detailed bars. Aaah yeah! HHE is back with a huge heater! Charlemagne went in and dug up some legendary classics from the early days of Fortress Entertainment. This will be the first installment of several projects between HHE and Fortress so definitely keep an eye out for what's more to come...

The first installment will start out with a bang as we have included the tracks from the Natural Elements EP released back in 1994. At that time NE was still a 6-man crew and the legendary @brownsvilleka was an early member. In addition, we have a previously unreleased Nightbreed track; the mythical duo that consisted of KA along with Kev. Furthermore we have an early L-Swift classic, a Raidermen heater and a superb unreleased demo of female emcee Essence that was also recorded back in 1994 for 10 tracks total.

A.G. aka Andre the Giant is a Bronx emcee who got his start as ½ of Showbiz & A.G. (Show & AG) and is part of the legendary D.I.T.C. crew. His first release "Soul Clap" is a classic. Show & AG has released at least four albums and three EP’s that spawned hits like Party Groove, Next Level, Spit, Dignified Soldiers, You Know Now and many more. While still part of D.I.T.C., AG released at least six solo LP’s and has collaborated with various D.I.T.C. members and is features on dozens of tracks. Stu Bangas is a Hip-hop producer from Boston, Mass and has produced for Sean Price, Heltah Skeltah, Apathy, Chino XL, Vinnie Paz, ILL Bill, Dres, Cappadonna as well as a slew of other emcees. He has released over a dozen collaborations projects and continues to be a staple in raw Hip Hop production. Psyko Ward is a Houston, Texas–based underground Hip-Hop collective formed in 1992. The conglomerate brings together three duo groups - Dark Side (D-Ology & Tabu), MaadHouse (Savere & Smokee), and Poetic Souls (GT & Red Cess) - alongside the solo artists Fliponya, Beholda’, and T-Wrekz, formerly of Funke Concepts. In 1994, the group released a 4-track demo cassette of their album "Nine Circles Of Rek", offering a first glimpse into their sound, while the full project remained unreleased for decades. Defined by razor-sharp precision, Psyko Ward’s lyrical style cuts with unmatched intensity, capturing the raw, unfiltered spirit of the underground.

Retrogenesis marks the second full-length collaboration between Godfather Don and Paris-based producer Parental, following their 2020 album Osmosis, released during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This new chapter pushes their sound further, blending raw sample-based hip-hop with a sharp sense of musical direction.

The album features contributions from Alcynoos (co-productions with Parental), a track produced by Lex (de Kalhex) who also handled the album artwork and Debonair P, who adds his signature touch on scratches. The project is rounded out with remixes by Venom and Figub Brazlevič, who also handled the mastering of the album.
