When being described as “Hardly a typical album, primarily a beat tape in the spirit of Dilla's Donuts. An intriguing album that is a testament to his talent.” by Resident Advisor shortly after its original release in 2011, Flako's release left a lasting impression on many and marked the beginning of an exciting career as a music writer and producer.

10 years later and with a vastly diverse and colorful catalogue of solo releases, as well as stunning productions for other artists across the world and all genres, this album hasn’t lost much of its original flavor.

Now considered a classic, “The Mesektet” is getting a complete revamp in form of a 2LP Gatefold Edition including three exclusive newly unearthed beats and retrospective collection of photos by Robert Winter.

The double LP “Nonfiction” by The Range, released on Project: Mooncircle, brings together eleven tracks that make up James Hinton’s first full-length album as The Range. Issued in collaboration with Donky Pitch and released in 2013, the vinyl came as a limited edition with a download code. The track sequence ranges from finely balanced instrumentals to cuts built around striking vocal snippets, while maintaining a compact, song-oriented structure throughout.

Musically, “Nonfiction” moves between organic sounds and electronic production: gentle piano figures and muted string arrangements meet dense bass lines, intricate breakbeats, and sparse synth elements. Style-wise, you can hear references to jungle, footwork, grime, and R&B, without the album merely copying these genres; instead, everything adds up to a distinctive sonic language that fuses emotion and precision. Critics highlighted the delicate balance between melody and rhythmic complexity.

Behind the project is producer James Hinton from Providence, Rhode Island, who had already released EPs and created remixes; he serves as both arranger and producer of the tracks on “Nonfiction.” Individual songs use found vocal recordings as textual elements, allowing familiar pop gestures to surface in fragmented form. For Hinton, this album marked a clear step toward a more personal, song-based direction in his electronic work.

The 12" “The Foreigner” by KRTS is released on Berlin-based label Project: Mooncircle and brings together the artist’s characteristic, genre-spanning tracks in a physical single/EP format; the release contains seven cuts, including “Foreign Land (Intro),” “Berlin Girls,” and “Sunrise Over Warschauer.”

KRTS, a producer and musician rooted in Brooklyn, blends influences from dubstep, broken beats, jazz, and East Coast boom-bap on this record to create a warm, bass-driven sound. The arrangements rely on distinctive drum patterns, deep basslines, and melodic layers, complemented by multi-voiced vocal passages crafted by KRTS himself.

Thematically, “The Foreigner” reflects the experience of feeling like an outsider during his time in Europe; individual tracks draw on urban motifs and personal moods that oscillate between introspection and forward-driving rhythms. Production and vocals come largely from within the project’s own circle, resulting in a coherent artistic tone.

In addition to its compact track sequence, the release includes a digital bonus remix of “Sunrise Over Warschauer,” which extends the release structure and underscores its orientation toward beat-driven approaches. Collectors and listeners interested in more leftfield, beat-oriented strands of electronic music will find here a precisely documented moment in the ongoing work of KRTS.

The LP “Wild” brings together the third full-length album by producer Nuage and was released in 2017 on the Berlin label Project: Mooncircle as a double LP edition. Nuage, the pseudonym of Saint Petersburg–born producer Dimitry Kuzmin, is responsible here for production and arrangements, continuing his evolution from drum and bass roots toward a more open electronic vocabulary.

Musically, “Wild” sits at the intersection of 2-step, deep house, UK garage, and downtempo; the album combines probing, syncopated beats with warm synth textures and occasional vocal accents. Several tracks feature guest voices, including contributions from Baile, Bop, Belle, and Olga Maximova, which expand the spectrum between instrumental density and song-oriented melody. Tracks like “Every PPL,” “Canvas,” and “Catch Light” exemplify this range.

The arrangements deliberately rely on subtle rhythmic detail, reverb, and carefully sculpted timbres, allowing Nuage to establish defining elements of his signature sound: precise drum programming meets melancholic, sometimes tropical-leaning melodies. Project: Mooncircle positions the release within its program of contemporary electronica, underscoring Nuage’s ambition to fuse club-ready grooves with atmospheric songwriting.

The LP "Close Eyes To Exit" by KRTS, released on Project: Mooncircle, brings together a dense, genre-crossing set that fuses broken beats, deep house, and drum and bass elements. The release is available as a white double LP and digitally, and offers 14 tracks thematically driven by current world events and social tensions; political issues such as racism, media perception, and personal vulnerability run through the tracks.

Musically, the album is defined by a mix of propulsive jungle and D’n’B rhythms, warm melodic arcs, and raw, bass-heavy textures. Some tracks rely on catchy melodies alongside fragmented beats, while others work with vocal passages and rap features: "Serve and Protect" brings in Mad Flows, "My Head Is Jumpin’" features vocals by Tito Ramsey and Charles Larson (Legs). This combination of danceable structures and reflective lyrics gives the record both physical energy and thematic sharpness.

KRTS, a.k.a. Kurtis Hairston, emerges here as a multi-layered producer and songwriter; his work links Brooklyn’s hip-hop roots with an experimental electronic aesthetic shaped in Berlin. The arrangements remain both dense and organic, allowing the individual contributions—from spoken-word fragments to full rap passages—to come across as sharply defined. "Close Eyes To Exit" thus positions itself as a contemplative yet danceable entry in the current Mooncircle catalog.

Released on Project: Mooncircle, the LP "Slow Waves" by submerse brings together the British producer’s first full-length album in a compact, atmospheric format. The release compiles short-form, multi-layered tracks that shift between dreamy melodies and polished beats; as a physical edition, the work appeared, among other formats, as a limited double LP, a handmade, hand-painted cassette, and a Japanese CD version.

submerse, a UK-born beatmaker based in Tokyo, is distinguished by a clear signature: gentle, slightly distorted chimes, off-kilter rhythms, and a preference for warm, subtly tinted sonic textures rooted in instrumental hip-hop, downtempo, and ambient. This stylistic blend strongly shapes the album and lends every track an intimate, cinematic quality.

The material on "Slow Waves" was written, produced, and mixed by Rob Orme himself; mastering was handled by Sven Friederichs. The artwork is by Repeat Pattern, with layout overseen by Gordon Gieseking; A&R duties were handled by Yasuhiko Fukuzono, Malte Tarnow, and Gordon Gieseking. Songs like "Snorlax" and "Approaching Ends" are prime examples of the stripped-back yet detailed production, which translates fragments of memory and real everyday scenes into dense, audible landscapes.

The LP "Are You Anywhere" by Submerse was released on the Project: Mooncircle label and brings together twelve compact tracks that document the producer’s second full-length. The 2017 release clearly falls within the spectrum of instrumental beats and downtempo‑oriented electronics, presenting a coherent flow of short, pointed pieces.

Musically, the album fuses early‑’90s slow‑jam influences with contemporary beat aesthetics: warm DX7 pads, stripped‑down drum patterns, and bass‑driven grooves form the framework, while melodic fragments and subtle sampling add atmospheric depth. Two tracks feature spoken or vocal contributions; in particular, the involvement of his friend, Tokyo beatmaker fitz ambro$e, is prominently highlighted. This blend of classic beat culture and restrained pop melodicism defines Submerse’s style.

Behind the project is a UK‑born producer working in Tokyo, known for his refined handling of tempo and sound texture. Support from scene platforms in live settings and media, along with appearances at international events, has solidified his standing as a producer of organically inclined electronic beats. Throughout, the LP remains focused on arrangement and mood, avoiding unnecessary embellishment.

“Supershark” by DZA is released as a 12" and in digital form on the Project: Mooncircle label, bringing together seven tracks with a total running time of around 16 minutes. The selection ranges from driving beats and densely layered synthesizers to short, punchy interludes; standout cuts include “Miami Cocktail” featuring guest artist Nando Pro, as well as instrumental tracks like “Star Shark” and “Shark Battle Tool.”

Behind DZA is producer Sasha Kholenko, a Russia-born beatmaker who has made a name for himself through his participation in the Red Bull Music Academy and releases on Error Broadcast and Black Acre. “Supershark” was created as a joint release between Jus Like Music and Project: Mooncircle and showcases his penchant for experimental structures and playful rhythms.

Musically, the EP operates at the intersection of electronic hip-hop, glitch, and wonky; DZA works with unusual sound textures, dotted drum patterns, and sparse fragments of melody that leave room for surprising arrangements. For collectors, the release is also available as a limited white vinyl pressing.

The album "My Little Ghost" by kidkanevil is being released on Project: Mooncircle as a gatefold double LP and is also available in digital format; in Japan, a CD edition with an exclusive bonus track is being issued. The release combines a cohesive album concept with a clear focus on arrangements that move between electronic downtempo and broken beats, giving the record a precise, well-defined shape.

Musically, the work links delicate, partly electroacoustic soundscapes with tightly arranged, sparse beat patterns; melodic fragments and pared-down vocal parts create a quiet counterpoint to the rhythmic sections. Themes such as alienation and the fleeting presence of a youthful perspective run as a common thread throughout the album, which is clearly shaped by a stay in Tokyo and by Japanese pop culture.

The record features numerous guest voices: Cuushe and Cokiyu contribute vocal passages, Phasma and Tetsuya Hikita also appear as featured guests, and producer Submerse is involved in select tracks. The work was mastered by Sven Friederichs, with artwork by Kotaro Chiba. These collaborations underscore the fusion of organic and electronic elements.

Working in London under his given name Gerard Roberts, kidkanevil brings experience from hip-hop, anime, and video game music into his productions and has developed a distinctive profile through earlier projects and remixes; this release documents that stylistic arc in a compact yet detailed way.

The 12" EP "Unpaved" by Robot Koch is released on Project: Mooncircle and simultaneously serves as the soundtrack to the short film of the same name; in addition to five tracks, the record also includes a digital download of the film, allowing image and sound to appear as equal parts of a single project.

Musically, "Unpaved" moves between downbeat, ambient, and beat-driven electronics. Heavy sub-bass and wide pad textures form the foundation, while delicate piano passages, muted hip-hop beats, and occasional dub effects structure the arrangements. Tracks such as "Sugar Owl" and "Calle Tierra" showcase the quiet, cinematic side, while "Poder Del Perro" and the title track "Unpaved" create atmospheric density with subtle percussion fragments and sampled voices; guest contributions from Alek Fin highlight individual moments.

Behind the project is established producer and composer Robot Koch, who had already worked with director Lukas Feigelfeld before; with "Unpaved," this collaboration produced an explicitly visual narrative piece in which the music not only underscores but independently carries the mood of the images. The release emphasizes Koch’s penchant for detailed sound design and for combining electronic production with classic cinematic means.

The double LP “Blue Balloons / The Longest Journey” brings together the debut album “Blue Balloons” and its follow-up “The Longest Journey” by Blossom, and was released on the label Project: Mooncircle. Combining both albums results in 18 tracks and roughly 83 minutes of music on vinyl, making the project’s early recordings available in this format for the first time.

Blossom is the project of Warsaw-based Polish producer Łukasz Czajewski; his approach blends downtempo aesthetics with broken beat elements, delicate guitar motifs, complex rhythmic patterns, and powerful bass lines. The arrangements are dense and atmospheric, shifting between instrumental passages and songs with a strong vocal presence; what stands out in particular is the balance between electronic production and organic sonic colors. All tracks were written and produced by Łukasz Czajewski.

Standout aspects of the release include guest contributions and instrumental subtleties: the track “Dusk” features guest vocals by JEHST, while Aleksander Papierz adds saxophone parts to “Don’t Grow Up,” “Signs of a New Day,” and “We Go,” providing warm, expressive accents. Musically, the record traces a clear line of development from the debut to the follow-up album and invites listeners to hear the artist’s stylistic shifts and musical concepts in direct comparison.

Released on Project: Mooncircle, the LP "Silent In Truth" brings together, as a various‑artists release, a selection of exclusive tracks that explore the spectrum between hip‑hop, downtempo, and left‑leaning electronic music. The compilation works with tight beats as well as organic sounds and shows how differently producers and MCs use the medium without losing its underlying thread. As a double LP, the record offers both quiet, contemplative pieces and rhythmically striking tracks.

Musically, the range extends from introspective instrumentals to more direct hip‑hop statements; contributions from Inner Science, Dday One, Aether, and Mr Cooper rely on warm sample textures and delicate drum work, while acts like Intifada or John Robinson (Lil’ Sci) bring political and personal lyrics to the fore. Highlights include live‑recorded passages and exclusive compositions such as Mat Young’s “Barn Burning” or Paten Locke’s “Brava,” which lend the album a documentary quality.

As a project of the label collective Project: Mooncircle, "Silent In Truth" stands for the networking of international artists and the idea of combining electronic and acoustic elements. The production features a diverse lineup, and both artwork and lettering come from the Beta Bodega Coalition circle; in doing so, the compilation documents a clearly defined stylistic direction of the label in 2009.

’See You Soon’ is the third album from Tokyo-based UK native submerse on the Project: Mooncircle imprint. A mélange of Slow-Jams, R&B, Hip Hop and Soul created while on a steady diet of 90’s NBA basketball and Dreamcast games. ’See You Soon’ features collaborations from fellow Tokyo-based artist Fitz Ambro$e and L.A.-based Devin Morrison and Pink Siifu.

Pyramids. Jagged teeth pushing through immaculate skies. The ever-changing light. The expansive sense of freedom. The wide open spaces. The textured landscape seen from above. Mountains. Watchful and immobile for thousands of years, weathering seasons, transcending change.

It's December 2016. I've left the London madness to hit the reset button and compose new music in a tiny village in the Swiss Alps. I'm over 10,000 feet high, it's minus 15 degrees and the snow is scintillating under a rich blue sky. I turn around and suddenly this gigantic pyramid-shaped peak is towering over me, staring me in the face. Mind blown. Senses overwhelmed. Perspective. Lightbulb moment. I have my album concept.

I wanted to put into sound my cathartic experiences of the mountains. Every track title was chosen before composing. The title would be a catalyst for visual memories, narrative and overall vibes. I continued developing the tracks on occasional trips to Switzerland, but mainly back in the gritty habitat of London's Hackney Wick. The urban-nature contrast had an impact on the music too.

I use a lot of found sound, stuff I have collected over the years, and a lot of resampled guitar sounds and textures. I love imperfections in sound. Detuned synths. Distortions and glitches. Rhythmic flutters and percussive frenzy. 'Manual' cut-ups. I love moving to house and disco and getting lost in the more melodic side of techno. I love polyrhythms and melodic counterpoints. I love the energy and rawness of a live rock band. I channel all this to create my own sonic palette.

Artwork by Jimmy Turrell, graphic artist and video director who combines a love of handmade collage, drawing, screen printing and painting alongside digital techniques. He has worked for Universal Music, Nike, Lexus, Levis, MTV, The New Yorker, Intro, Capitol Records, The New York Times, Green Peace, Beck, The Prodigy/XL Recordings, Channel 4, The Guardian, GQ, The Times, LA Times, Newsweek, Getty Images, Adidas, Sony Music, New York Magazine, Wired, Glastonbury Festival, and Vanity Fair amongst others.

‘Kellion’ is the story of a young boy who was born into a mysterious world he explores with his curious eyes, ears and hands. Every new experience lets him grow as a person and also expands his knowledge of the world that surrounds him. His young mind is sometimes blurrying the lines between imagination and reality, dreaming and being awake, reality and fantasy. Making sense of this world in its very own unique way, his world is filled with fantastic and surreal magical creatures and quirky characters.

Over the course of the ten songs many different little adventures unfold and await the young boy, slowly building his character while he explores nature in all its varieties and learns to appreciate it. He lives through new emotions and gets to learn about his own feelings during the process. The title track ‘Kellion’ represents the very inner world of the kid – it is his cocoon where he can always return to and be safe after his journeys and adventures.

Created at the footstep of Mount Victoria, Groeni wanted to challenge themselves compositionally and sonically with Nihx. Nihx explores the characteristics of points of conflict between opposing forces. As in the past, and as with many electronic outfits, the music had been written ‘in the box’, so to speak. To counter this technique the three members of Groeni (Al, Mike, and James) each wrote numerous compositional sketches that were more or less complete as frameworks before entering them into the digital realm. With similar inspiration the band wanted to create unique and personalised sounds away from the computer to sample and use with most of the sonic treatment happening also away from the computer. The vast majority of the drum sounds are made from samples of Mike’s ever expanding synth collection, numerous sounds are manipulated feedback from guitars or vocals among other things. The entire record was written and recorded across three home studios in Wellington, NZ and has been almost 2 years in the making.

The multi-instrumentalist dedicates this release to an allegory of arrival and homesickness, after his first album Inner Sea focused on the journey itself. While the latest album was mostly written in different places, Belonging has been produced solely in the same place in Berlin, where most of the songs have evolved from intuitive jams on the instrument.

“Silent Opera” album is an attempt to describe the states of the human soul. The state of rising and fall, of despair and hope, of humility and expectation of a miracle. The search for peace inside against the background of flowering life around and elusive time.

“Time Being”, originally released in 2003, was the first full-length CYNE LP, following a series of 12” singles for Beta Bodega’s imprint Botanica Del Jibaro. This Project Mooncircle reissue marks the first time that this long out-of-print album has been released on vinyl. This deluxe edition includes a remaster of the original “Time Being” album, previously released singles, instrumentals, and two previously unreleased bonus tracks (“Plain English” and “The Word”), both recorded during the “Time Being” sessions.

CYNE’s “Time Being” lineup consisted of MC’s Cise Star and Akin Yai, and producers Speck and Enoch. The four teamed up in Gainesville, Florida in 2001 and recorded “African Elephants”, which was quickly released as a 12” and set the trajectory for the group’s course. “Time Being” was created over the next year and reflects the musical and political environment of the time. Sonically the album showcases a synthesis of obscure samples filtered through the eclectic influences of Speck and Enoch, while Cise Star and Akin Yai’s lyrics cover a wide range, from conceptual, introspective, and spiritual ideas to the anxieties of post-9/11 xenophobia and being a black youth in America.

CYNE has continued to release music for more than 15 years, including projects for domestic and international labels such as Project: Mooncircle, Botanica Del Jibaro, P-Vine, Home Tapes, and City Centre Offices. Although the group’s lineup has changed for recent projects, all four members continue to work together, creating a reputation as artists that stay true to the lyrical power and gritty cut and paste aesthetic of classic Hip Hop while managing to explore new sonic territory.

Both CYNE and Akin Yai released new material in 2017; CYNE recently announced the second volume of their “Wasteland” beat tape series, while Akin Yai’s new album “Romantica”, primarily produced by Speck and Enoch, was released in April of 2017.

‘A Part Of Me‘ is the debut album by Ivan Arlaud alias 1954, a young musician from Lyon, France. It’s an immersive journey between nostalgic and synthetic sounds, melancholia and hope, fears and confidence. He contrived to describe all the bright, warm, cold and dark moments of his restless imagination in rhythms without being intrusive. As the title says, it’s his personal disclosure.

Following on from their EP ‘In Need Of Tess‘ Jilk are excited to release their album ‘Joy In The End‘ with Project Mooncircle. Their most fully realised and beautiful set of compositions yet. Through an apocalyptic narrative, the album explores themes of hope found in desolation and the eventual and inevitable cyclical return of loss and joy. An album for the current worrying times as well as the personal joys that can combat those worries.

This is Jilk’s most collaborative effort yet as a collective. The influences and styles are eclectic; strings, guitars, synths, brass, voice, percussion, noise, concrète and glitch meet to create an overwhelmingly alluring set of compositions. Delicate electronic textures frame neo-classical arrangements while heart wrenching vocals and guttural bass lines drive the album forward through 11 tracks of folktronic, drone based walls of sound.

In the words of Elie Wiesel “Just as despair can come to one only from other human beings, hope, too, can be given to one only by other human beings.”

A journey to the moon that began fifteen years ago now reaches another milestone – 15 years, one and a half decades, over 150 individual releases, many many artists, countless professional relationships but also friendships along the way. Many many stories and shared memories – not all of them good, not all of them bad either. While modern space age technology would make it possible to reach the moon’s surface a lot faster, for us it is not only about moving forward as quickly as possible, but also to turn around, look back and around ourselves and to reflect on everything that happened and is happening. This is why we have such a broad range of artists guesting on our latest compilation. Some that have been part of the voyage from its earliest stages, others that have been with us for major milestones along the way, and even more that might move ahead with us into new and unchartered musical regions.

Working with Dave McKean – a true legend, especially for anyone into comic illustrations – wraps up this whole trip in the sweetest way. Not only is it a big honour, but – in a way – it completes the circle, as Dave has been a major influence for the label’s artworks from its earliest beginnings already.

Luckily, we have not crashed into any lunar crater with our listeners. We want to thank you for making this long journey possible and we greatly look forward to celebrating this milestone with our partners, musical family and of course with you, our listeners.

‘The Aura‘ and the belief in it can be found in almost all cultures in one form or another. Often signifying fields of energy and spirituality, an aura is a luminous radiational halo surrounding a person or object. It is said that all objects and all living things manifest such an aura. In other respects the aura has also been described as a map of the thoughts and feelings surrounding a person.

Pieced together from sounds and samples from all over the globe, the album’s aim is to charge listeners with harmony and a feeling of connectedness to the world. Reflecting on his own attitude towards life and the importance of inner balance, Pavel attempts to share some of the spiritual experiences he made while traveling.
The lengthy process of creation included numerous reworks of each track and intensive listening sessions in order to keep the balance between the essential details and those that are redundant to the album’s atmosphere.

The album includes collaborations with old friends like Mujuice, Graciela Maria as well as some newly added artists – L.A. rapper BLU, Starving Yet Full – ex-vocalist from Azari III and Mitia Dedoni, who created the haunting album cover.
