Fuzz, the California based trio of Ty Segall (vocals, drums), Charles Moothart (vocals, guitar), and Chad Ubovich (vocals, bass), present their latest release Fuzz’s Fourth Dream on In The Red Records. This is the band’s first release in four years and is a collection of singles, unreleased demos, and rarities.

“I lived in a four-bedroom house in San Francisco that housed anywhere from six to ten people at a time,” Moothart explains. “Friends were always crashing when they were between spots, on tour, or just couldn’t make it home. It was a chaotic space, but a space that was cherished by many. Chad frequently crashed on our couch when on tour—surrounded by ashtrays full of cigarettes and joint roaches; beer cans and spray paint cans.

“I remember jamming on guitar and drums with Ty at like 2 AM in the garage (still feel bad for putting the neighbors through that.) One day, under Ty’s guidance, I dragged a 388 in to the garage. I decided I wanted to write a Sabbath-style riff just to see what happens. I laid down some drums, then came up with what would become “Fuzz’s Fourth Dream.”.I showed Ty the ‘demo’ which was more of a sloppy idea. He basically said ‘Let’s make this band”... and Fuzz was off.

“This collection really does give a proper road map to what this band is and was, as well as how the two connect,” Moothart explains. “Fuzz means a lot to me, and I have learned so much through these processes. Thank you to any one who has been listening to these songs since the beginning, and thank you to any one who is here for the first time.”

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing of this 1978 album. X-Ray Spex emerged in the late 1970s, known for their distinctive sound, socially conscious lyrics, and the dynamic frontwoman Poly Styrene. The band was active during the first wave of punk rock and played a significant role in the punk movement. Lead vocalist and songwriter Poly Styrene was known for her unique vocal style and often cited as an influential figure in the punk scene. X-Ray Spex released their debut album, "Germfree Adolescents," in 1978, featuring the title track, "Germfree Adolescents." The album is considered a classic of the punk era. While X-Ray Spex had a relatively short-lived career, disbanding in 1979, they left a lasting impact on the punk scene, and their music continues to be celebrated for it's originality and influence. Poly Styrene sadly passed away in 2011, but her contributions to punk rock remain influential.

Jeff Burke and Radioactivity are back! Recorded over a long period of time and released ten full years (!) after their last album (Silent Kill, 2015), here is the eagerly awaited third!

Nobody was really worried about Radioactivity dropping the ball after all this time. Jeff Burke’s track record (The Marked Men, The Reds, The Potential Johns, Lost Balloons, etc etc) speaks for itself, and has for over twenty-five years at this point. It’s no exaggeration at all to say that Burke’s songwriting voice is one of the most distinctive, unique, and dare we say best of the 21st century so far. Still, Time Don’t Bring Me Down doesn’t just hold its own—it rips. With Mark Ryan (Marked Men, Mind Spiders, O-d-ex) and Daniel Fried + Gregory Rutherford (Bad Sports) in the lineup, these guys burn through eleven tracks in half an hour and leave nothing standing.

The first two albums sounded like what one would expect from a Burke project—tight, fast, and pure Denton adrenaline. Time Won’t Bring Me Down still has that DNA, but this isn’t just nostalgia. Radioactivity’s got their own thing now: Burke’s hooks still bite, but there’s more space, more mood, and the band’s locked-in chemistry means every hit lands harder. One gets straight-up burners like “Time Won’t Bring Me Down” and “Why” that’ll knock the coffee out of one’s hand, but also heart-twisters like “Analog Ways,” “Ignorance Is Bliss,” and “Shell” that slow the pace down considerably, and represent real progress and evolution in style and songwriting. Time Won’t Bring Me Down sees Radioactivity take their core sound and expand it outwards in all directions. A true masterpiece, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.

They understand that music is and has always been a force for bringing people together. They’ve made it their mission to leverage the platform that music provides to change the world around them for the better. “These songs make up a fictional story but it’s rooted in our personal experiences,” Rono explains. “We are starting from the ending and moving to the beginning. On the 2021 LP Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year, it’s about Jamie and it’s the tragedy that happens on graduation day. The last release, 2024’s The 3 Faces of Beauty: A Violent Misinterpretation Of Morgan Montgomery, is about Morgan and their junior year. And this album is about Casey and reveals more about how we ended up at this tragedy.” While the songs draw from the members’ personal experiences, Kaonashi are simultaneously able to construct a parallel universe with their music to get lost inside that’s as cathartic for the band as it is for their fans. “There’s a lot of unfortunate stories to get inspiration from and this really is a tragedy, but it’s therapy for me getting it out in these songs,” he continues.

Dicks’ debut LP has been acknowledged as a foundational statement in Punk ever since its initial 1983 release. Following their first single, 1980’s “Dicks Hate The Police,” and a live split with fellow Austinites the Big Boys, Kill From The Heart does not disappoint. Originally released on SST, the album stands apart from the mass of generic thrash-hardcore contemporaries— fueled by the manic, but controlled power of singer Gary Floyd along with the original lineup of guitarist Glen Taylor, bassist Buxf Parrot and drummer Pat Deason. Dicks were operating at an absolute peak at this point, alternating damaged workouts that suggest Flipper or No Trend on one end and highly charged tracks in the vein of Minutemen or Tales of Terror on the other. Straight out of the gate on “Anti Klan,” the band trades blues-grounded guitar with squealing feedback and intensely political lyrics. 500 Since forming in 1987, Insurgence aka Insurgence DC has always been a band that has stood out for their staunch DIY ethic as well as their rebellious attitude and their incisive and often timely lyrics. With a strong punk influence in the stylings of The Clash, Fugazi and the Minutemen this Raleigh NC/Washington DC trio, during the recording of this album, was comprised of band members Bill Daly, Dave Hogan and Roberto Morales.

Ripe for the Trade Off was recorded in 1993-94 by David Barbe in between his touring and recording with Bob Mould in their band, Sugar. Barbe and Insurgence member, Bill Daly, both produced the album together in Athens, Georgia.

Originally released in April 1995 on CD, Ripe For The Trade Off is perhaps one of the best kept secret and overlooked punk releases of the 1990’s. It was released to immediate credit acclaim back then.. Flipside Magazine praised the album saying, ''This band has been around since 1987 which is a long time to remain virtually unknown with a sound like theirs. Their sound is like Husker Du but with a bass, guitar and drum sound that leaps out front.'' Indie File Magazine went on to say, '' Ripe For The Trade Off ''packs the punch of a prized heavyweight.'' There were also numerous reviews likening the bands sound and style to artists such as The Clash, Fugazi and The Minutemen.

Though the album sold a few thousand copies, the band's extensive touring schedule was cut short in the spring of 1995 due to drummer, Dave Hogan, being diagnosed with a severe case of tinnitus. The band had played close to 200 shows in a 4 year period prior to the album's release. Hogan was not able to play drums again for almost 8 years.

In the spring of 2024 the band reached out to David Barbe to see if he was interested and had the time to remix some songs for a re-release for the album's 30th anniversary. Barbe was super excited to go back to revisit the sessions and songs he had originally recorded as a younger studio engineer. With his remixes of the songs he said to them, ''I am 30 years older, but 30 years better as a sound engineer versus back then.'' Barbe also commented that he thought after ''all these years I still hear the Insurgence DC songs as very relevant musically and lyrically in today's world.'' Indeed they have stood the test of time.

Although time constraints and scheduling conflicts in the summer and fall of 2024 did not allow Barbe to remix the entire album, he was able to remix 10 of the songs. In addition to the remixes, there are also 3 other original mixes on the album that Barbe did in 1993-94.

The band was also able to enlist Ryan Pickett (soundman for My Morning Jacket ) at his studio, Stadium Heights Recordings, in Durham, NC, to help remix the final 5 tracks for the double album.

Mastered by John Golden, Ripe For The Trade Off will be a double LP. It is going to be numbered and also come with newly designed artwork for the album cover. Though two different 7'' releases were put out with songs from this album in 1990's, this will be the very first time the entire album of Ripe For The Trade Off (along with bonus tracks) is going to be released on vinyl on RSD 2025.

Bad Brains is the self-titled debut studio album recorded by American hardcore punk/reggae band Bad Brains. Recorded in 1981 and released on (then) cassette-only label ROIR on February 5, 1982, many fans refer to it as "The Yellow Tape" because of it's yellow packaging. Though Bad Brains had recorded the 16 song Black Dots album in 1979 and the 5-song Omega Sessions EP in 1980, the ROIR cassette was the band's first release of anything longer than a single. The release includes the original liner notes by Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo. This reissue marks the second release in the remaster campaign on the band's own Bad Brains Records imprint with Org Music. Born in the Basement, the 1994 second LP from horror-pop-punk mainstays the Groovie Ghoulies, in many ways marked a pivotal transition point for the band that would set the course for the rest of their career. After the first LP, the band had moved from Los Angeles to Sacramento, the city that would remain their home base for the duration of the band. The title of the record is more factual than one might assume: at the time, the Ghoulies' lineup of Kepi (bass/vocals), Roach (guitar), and Wendy (drums) were all co-habitating in a house by the city cemetery, practicing in the basement, where the record was indeed "born"! This lineup would remain together for the follow-up World Contact Day, which became the best-selling Ghoulies record! They also found themselves working with a prestigious new producer, recording at Seattle's Egg Studios with Conrad Uno (Mudhoney, The Presidents of the United States of America, The Ergs!). This relationship, too, would continue for World Contact Day. Fuelled by fan-favourite Ghoulies staples such as "The Beast with Five Hands," "I Wanna Have Fun," and "Back to the, Garage," the album was a self-released sell-out through two pressings, attracting the attention of legendary Bay Area punk label Lookout Records, who would work with the band through the year 2000, releasing 4 LPs and re-releasing 2, including Born in the Basement. Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood is the last album released by American horror punk band Misfits to feature founding member and lead vocalist, Glenn Danzig. Danzig released it on his Plan 9 label in December 1983, two months after he played his last concert with the band. It was noticeably harder and faster than their previous releases, showing more of a hardcore punk sound. Since it's release it has often been referred to as simply "Earth A.D." amongst fans. Originally released as a 9 song LP, it was later issued with the three tracks of the Die, Die My Darling EP incorporated into the track listing: "Die, Die My Darling", "Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?" and "We Bite". Glenn Danzig has said that the tracks "Bloodfeast" and "Death Comes Ripping" were originally intended for Samhain's first release, but were added to what would be the Misfits' final record in a last-ditch effort to save the band. Metallica covered "Die, Die My Darling" for their 1998 cover album Garage Inc, as well as "Green Hell", which was originally covered by Metallica for their 1987 album, Garage Days Re-Revisited, as part of a medley with "Last Caress". British extreme metal band Cradle of Filth covered "Death Comes Ripping" for their 1999 release From the Cradle to Enslave.

RECOLLECTION is a new band made up of an all-star cast of players who excel at making
aggressive music. On the band’s debut EP, Vivid Dreams, Josh Hynes (RUDE AWAKENING,
HAMMER BROS), guitarist Joshua Long (SKINHEAD, CRIMINAL INSTINCT, RUDE AWAKENING,
HAMMER BROS), guitarist Austin Sparkman (HAYWIRE, BURIED DREAMS), bassist G (HAMMER
BROS, THE WORLD), and drummer Snooka (LIFE’S END) prove that they’re also just as adept at
melody and emotion–and these six songs are certainly packed with both.
RECOLLECTION began after the passing of a close friend brought Hynes and Long back together.
The two found themselves reconnecting from opposite ends of the country, working on new
songs to help process their grief. The result is Vivid Dreams, six anthemic tracks that capture
the raw sound and raw feelings at the heart of RECOLLECTION. Recorded by punk/hardcore
virtuoso Taylor Young (MILITARIE GUN, DRAIN, MSPAINT, GOD’S HATE) at the Pit Recording
Studio in Los Angeles, the EP is a highly satisfying introduction to the band’s self-proclaimed
“hard indie” sound. “Signals Crossed” kicks things off and wastes no time throwing the listener
into RECOLLECTION’s blend of soaring instrumentals and Hynes’ ferocious roar. His delivery
and cadences are as visceral as the lyrics are longing–an open-hearted lament at the challenges
of staying connected as life gets more complicated.
The members’ long shared history is palpable in the music–it might seem strange to say that
music this furious sounding is comforting, but there’s a real sense of familiarity, friendship, and
nostalgia in these six tracks. Songs like “In Memorium,” “Last Call,” and “Less Is More” combine
crunchy power chords with chiming leads, all while Hynes explores grief, aging, and a longing to
stay close to friends, loved ones, and good times. It all makes for 15 minutes of music that could
inspire personal reflection just as effectively as rowdy shout-alongs.
Vivid Dreams closes with “Car Doors (Oh Ashley),” a tender, acoustic ballad that makes it clear
that RECOLLECTION is about expressing something beyond just frustration. These songs might
have started in a place of sadness but there’s also solace–an appreciation for the time spent with
the people who matter to you, even if it’s not as much time as you’d like.

"In 1995 In The Red released the Cheater Slicks fourth full length album, Don’t Like You. The band, based in Boston at the time, travelled to New York to record at Jerry Teel’s Funhouse studio with Jon Spencer acting as producer. The result was a completely over the top noisefest that remains one of my favorite ITR releases to this day. Admittedly, Jon’s production was heavy-handed and extreme but, I thought it suited the band and this material well.

"Prior to the recording the band demoed their material at a couple of different eight track studios in Boston. The demos showed that the band had enough material for an album that would be (in my opinion) their strongest to date. When the album was released it was very well received but there was a small number of people close to the band and myself who were critical of Jon’s production and preferred the straight forward recording of the demos.

Montréal has always had an active music scene, but it seems hard for bands to break out and reach wider audiences outside Canada. However, when a band is able to break out, they become the archetype for their respective sounds, creating something entirely unique from familiar riffs and structures.Take VOIVOID’s sci-fi thrash and speed metal mutation from the 80s, INEPSY’s motör-charged wasteland punk ‘n’ roll from the early 2000’s and now…BÉTON ARMÉ’s uplifting blend of Oi!, punk and hardcore. While it seems most people are learning about the band through their recent tours—hitting cities in Europe, USA, Australia and Japan—they have been active since 2018, meticulously dialing in their sound. Initially influenced by the skinhead scenes of France and Italy, their new LP “Renaissance” borrows from sounds outside the subculture, orchestrating harmonies to unite the punks, skins and moshers. The comparison to L’INFANTERIE SAUVAGE is undeniable (they even cover "Les poings levés mais les poings liés"!) with odd song structures switching from slow melodies to fast punchy pogo beats. The Italian influence also still remains, tapping into bands showcased on the “QUELLI CHE URLANO ANCHORA…” compilation (BASTA, NABAT, ROUGH, etc…). However on this LP, there is a subtle influence of early American hardcore bands, adding more stomping rhythms and upping the pace of the songs. Renaissance is an excellent example of how a band can evolve their sound without losing the aspects that define them: razor sharps riffs, unexpected disco drum syncopations and, of course, orchestral “Ohhhhhhs”. Every song verges on an anthem that will get stuck in your head for days. This record truly is a “Renaissance”, hopefully ushering in a new era of scene unity and positivity, making you believe that together anything is possible. L’Union Fait La Force!
