Brahm "Ratimis" is the first original album from the reclusive producer in over a decade. Last year the label released a compilation of Brahm's earlier work entitled I Wish I Could Sample and Loop Your Brightest Moment (Selections 1994-2006). Comparing his older music to the forthcoming release Brahm's music still retains the left-field instrumental hip-hop backbone akin to artists like DJ Shadow, Prefuse 73 and RJD2. However on Ratimis, more jarring and industrial tones filter in and out of the grooves that wouldn't sound out of place on an album by Haxan Cloak or Health.
