Meier & Erdmann Howler Monkey

Moniker Eggplant’s 11th release is another split release, this time with Minor Label from Leipzig where it hits the street as No. 35.

This 12-inch vinyl is literally the sixth Eggplant release that features the live electronic music duo Meier & Erdmann—it’s their first appearance on Minor.
Howler Monkey – the duo’s first LP –merges a wide blend of electro-musical styles. Whereas it starts with a short and organic soundscape composition ('Wald Wasch'),
the second track 'Mech Pilot' (155 Bpm) bumps up with an algorithmic, bass-heavy and kicking beat – a mood which will be continued in 'Torres' (145 BPM)
although this tune includes more concrete and melancholic sounds. The title track 'Howler Monkey' (125 Bpm) foregrounds Meier & Erdmann's passion for analogue synthesizers,
arpeggios and acid basslines. The flip side starts off with 'Cornish Hospitality' (110 Bpm) that ranges again in the realm of acid basses and analogous beats.
B 2 – 'Strom' (170 Bpm) – is a melancholic and polyrhythmic sonic journey through the gap between an electrified world and nature.
'Vopmok' (175 Bpm) represents a humorous condensation the diversity of the LP which ends with the sound piece 'Cornish Hospitality Reprise‘.
