SAMT are a duo from Vienna and Upper Austria, consisting of the experimentalmusician Stefan Geissler (keyboard/voice) from the http://klingt.org/ surroundings and the musician Minki Mumu on drums and vocals, also known from the Vienna LoFi-Popband Cry Baby (Fettkakao label).
Having a great affinity for 1960s-beatmusic in common, they started out as a DJ-duo. For a show at Vienna's legendary venue "Nachtasyl" they founded the project SAMT.
SAMT performs an interesting kind of noise-pop which works completely without guitars: distorted e-piano/keyboard meets minimalistic drumming and german vocals in a Vienna meets Upper Austria dialect, Post Punk meets Austropop.
In May 2018, SAMT are releasing their debut 7" single "I wü Di/Geh schleich Di" (KUS 014) in a limited edition of 200 copies.
