During its 13 years of existence around the globe, CDR (Create, Define, Release) has been many things. It's been a night instrumental in the development of some of dance music's finest such as Floating Points, Maya Jane Coles, Funkineven, Fatima and SBTRKT; as well as a label which released music from the likes of Tom Trago, Daisuke Tanabe, Mr. Beatnick and Steve Spacek. Most importantly, it has acted as a safe space for producers, beat makers, singers, songwriters and artists to hone their craft and meet other like-minded individuals. This year marks CDR's first foray into releasing vinyl since 2006. To celebrate this occasion, CDR has teamed up with friends and partners Dimensions Festival to release a record that is truly unique - the foundation of these tracks are field recordings, gathered all across the world by festival attendees (in a project called Local Audio). The Dimension Sounds tracks feature the talents of CDR mainstays K15 and FYI Chris, while also shining the light on a couple of newcomers Ben Houghton from Melbourne and Lismore from London. The result of this release is a collaboration of sorts from people all around the world whom have never met - which seamlessly fit into one compilation.
