Another top notch Bokhari outing! Stephen is a Scotsman but sounds like he is from Detroit - he was also on BK013 where he shared an EP with Hiver and provided us with the excellent 'Theme from SAPL'. This time he's on his own...Early 90's UK Electronica and of course, the inescapable Detroit blueprint run deep through this one, the unmistakably chewy, tangible heft of analogue sonics married perfectly with emotive melodies.A welcome whiff of Azymuth era Kenny Larkin clings to the whole EP, while Cologne collective Noorden regular Ikpathua lays out a spacious and deeply atmospheric rendition too...

Release:2015 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
Another Various Artists special from the mighty Bokhari camp... Two fresh tracks from the Lord Lucan-esque disappearing Russian, Kirill Tipo, whom we've been chasing since 2012! Creta Kano on the flip gives us a slice of electro that sounds like it could have been made in 1988, with a bassline that'll be in your head for days. Still high from the Scott Grooves props of his last venture with Bokhari, Joe Europe returns with another slice of deepness for those who like some musical content in their house!
Siafu / Disrupted Project - SLUNK
Siafu / Disrupted Project
12" | 2012 | EU | Original (Bokhari)
9,99 €*
Release:2012 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
A very strong and varied 12 for the second release from Bokhari. 300 copies, vinyl only, and featuring wild 3D hand drawn artwork by nocturnal illustrator Ben Cook AKA Synthetics. Siafu's Slunk Dub starts proceedings with a slow, deep, languid house groove, propelled forward by a motoring bassline, murky acid grooves and insanely catchy keys. Acid House survivor Neville Watson's remix is tinged with nostalgia. Slow building mid-90's piano riffs give way to a nagging acid groove and epic synths. Retro futurism of the highest order. On the flip unknown Croatian producer Disrupted Project's 1.2 is an infectious slab of ocean deep, grainy dub techno. Drenched in warm bass and swimming in static - if Basic Channel had stepped it up a notch, this may have been the result.
