Bright Sounds present their third release, from Paris-based producer Shlømo - owner of kindred spirit label Taapion. Having made a big impression in late-2013 with Taapion's debut release "The Harvest" EP (featuring Conforce and Stephen Brown remixes), Shlømo now presents his second full solo EP: "Rechaïm" explores similar sonic textures to those found on Taapion and Bright Sounds releases so far - a richly layered and dense world of dub techno atmospherics with dancefloor versatility. The four tracks all allow for different aspects of Shlømo's exemplary production skill to shine through, marking the producer alongside Bright Sounds owner and fellow Parisian as producers and A&R talents to keep close watch of.

Following on from March's Shlømo remix package featuring Donato Dozzy, Bambounou, Shlømo and label boss Kennedy Smith, Bright Sound's second release of 2016 will new a brand new EP from Sweden's Andreas Tilliander. With his releases on his own Repeatle imprint and his TM404 alias's hardware-driven techno featuring on Skudge White and Kontra-Musik, Tilliander is among Sweden's most versatile talents working right now. His arrival on Bright Sounds is of a piece with BSRX 004, last year's reissue of fellow Swede Henrik Johansson's 1997 EP as Smyglyssna. As with Johansson's record, Tilliander's Stettin Libau EP explores slower tempo techno, locating the moments of space and energy in between its rhythmic structures. This search is most keenly observed in 'Knapp Ledsyn', with its ever-shifting sonic landscape melting away at various points to reveal its unusual, skeletal beats and hidden melodic details, while the EP title track and 'Nybliven Lots' apply that approach to what might at first be a traditional dub techno template, yet still offering further small moments of off-beat character. Completing the release is a 'Detox Operation' remix of 'Knapp Ledsyn' from Nonplace Records chief Burnt Friedman, in which the German veteran strips things down to a gentle patter of drums overlaid with suggestive flashes of the original's rich atmospheric elements.

In the space of two short years Shlømo has quickly established himself alongside the likes of Marcelus, Bambounou, Francois X and the Antinote Records crew as a key figure in Paris’ current techno generation. Having established his own Taapion Records label in 2013 and built a roster around a core of local producers including Roman Poncet, PVNV and Antigone, in addition to enlisting Stephen Brown, Conforce and Sterac as remixers for the label’s releases so far.For its fifth release, Bright Sounds - run by fellow Parisian Kennedy Smith - revisits last year’s Recha m EP (BSRX003), with atrio of remixers offering their own takes on Shlømo’s established deep and expansive sound.First up is the aforementioned 50 Weapons artist Bambounou, who offers a dynamic groove-based version of the title trackthat bounces along an elastic kick drum with cut-up fragments of the original’s atmospheric pads providing further impetus.Label owner Kennedy Smith takes on Theory Is The Worst by bringing its dub textures to the for while filling the track’s empty spaces with intricate drum patterns. Finally, Italian techno pioneer Donato Dozzy turns Grounded Queen into a classic Dozzy slow-burning techno trip, with his trademark layered sound complimenting the track’s subtle rhythmic backbone.
