Release:2017 / UK – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Demian Castellanos is best known as the man behind the London psyche rock outfit The Oscillation. Presented here is more fruits of Demian's obsession for the infinite possibilities offered by an electric guitar and 12 string acoustic guitar, some effects pedals (delay, fuzz, tremolo, phaser and flanger) and a 4 track Tascam Porta 3. Sharing touchstones with Pete Kember's 'Soul Kiss Glide Divine' and Kevin Shields' sonic explorations, Demian has provided an aural equivalent of Brion Gysin's 'Dream Machine'. Like the 'Dream Machine', this music is best listened to with eyes closed so that listeners may experience increasingly bright and complex patterns of colour behind closed eyelids during which you may enter a hypnagogic state. Recorded in Cambridge 1995, Demian returned to the recordings in the winter of 2015 where the tapes were transferred and mixed at Xibalba Studios. Limited to 250 copies. Split release with Out Of Phase Frequencies.

Haunting the foggy moor between Sabbath-styled doom riffage and heavy pulse-riding kraut-rock, these primal cuts go straight for the kill. These dudes have impressed critics with their unholy instrumental slaying. The Shooting Guns' debut, 'Born To Deal In Magic: 1952-1976' (originally released in 2011) has been long out of print and near impossible to obtain outside of the band's native Canada. Now that title is back on vinyl for the masses.

This is a live recording from the audience, not from the mixing desk. The band didn't plan this release, but were lucky Duarte was there to capture it. The show ended abrubtly since the police raided the stage and pulled off Isaiah's guitar cable from the amplifier. Because of the nature of this recording this is a one time only vinyl pressing of 500. Pressed on orange/black swirl vinyl. Comes with printed inner sleeve.

After years in the wilderness Portsmouth's biker/psych/drone shamen You're Smiling Now But We'll All Turn Into Demons are back with their first new material in over 5 years. 'Population IV' (named in homage to Randy Holden's seminal amplifier worship LP) is the sound of a band that knows exactly who they are and what they want, and that's to grind our teeth to powder. From the fuzzed out broadside of the revved up opener 'The Sorcerers', through to the desert rock of 'Seya' and the tombstone blues of 'Throne Control', 'Population IV' is the Demons' thundering comeback we all knew that they would return with. Recorded direct to analogue tape, 'Population IV' is a potent swirl of Sabbath strength Hammer House riffs, fuzz rama-lama and apocalyptic blues. Edition of 500 double-LP's on two-colour swirl vinyl with a locked groove bonus on Side A. Also included are an insert and download of not only the LP, but of a specially put together edit of live jams and rehearsal for this release called 'Psychic Driving'.

Old Testament a band formed in Los Angeles in the year 5,772 and fronted by singer and songwriter Jason Simon of Dead Meadow. When Jason started accumulating songs that he felt fell outside the realm of the riff and heavy fuzz of Dead Meadow, he decided to form a new band that tells of a long lost America as envisioned by Harry E. Smith in his anthology of haunting blues, backwards ballads and god- fearing gospel. Warbling guitars, electric organ, singing drums, blown out harmonica, and droning harmonium come together to create a sound residing somewhere between Dock Boggs, Dylan, The Band's 'Basement Tapes', and one of Fred Neil's raga-inspired improvisations as Old Testament emerge from the eerie haze of a long-lost America. Featuring Jason Simon on vocals and guitar, the masterful drum work of Ryan Rapsys, the mournful howl of Oak Munson's harp, the always tasteful Nate Ryan on organ and guitar, and the beautiful Jessica Senteno on the harmonium.
