Senegal, 1970s. At the Club Le Sahel in Dakar, the orchestra of the same name was putting the dancefloor on fire and would share the stage with the many stars visiting: Johnny Pacheco, James Brown, Franco Luambo. They released only one album, in 1975. Time went by. Le Sahel is back together and released a new blazing album in 2015 mixing Afro-Cuban and Senegalese rhythms. Welcome to Dakar! Let yourself be enchanted, "encantado" by the powerful, the legendary, the eternal Sahel de Dakar.

During the seventies, some bands that played Haitian compas integrated salsa and Latin jazz into their repertoire. Cuban music, which was the foundation of New York salsa, itself was based on rhythms from Haiti at the end of 18th century. 'Haiti Goes Latin' presents a selection of these songs. Two pieces of compas, with funky inflections and a troubadour piece, complete the selection. This sensual and elegant music, with its lush instrumental sections, was recorded in New York, Miami and in Haiti's famous Audiotek studio. The selection covers a period spanning 1976 to 1984. Includes an 8-page booklet.
