Toeing the line between divinity and profanity, blurring beauty and debasement, is Drvg Cvltvre. Following Offender Status and Gauwvuur is an eight track album: Into the Endless Night. From the guttural emotion of “Where Embers Die” to the bleak ferocity of “Brakes are Death”, a complex and hardened array is on display. Buried angst is never far away. “There Were Rumours” flexes with embittered bars before the unrefined purity of “Jericho Flats.” Respite from this whirring carnival is a rarity, relief from the see¬sawing serration of “Shock Corridor” or rollicking jeer of “Charge of the Haploids.” But there is reprieve, radiance breaks through. “Into the Endless Night” pulses with brightening hope, one which is reflected in the gritty finale of “Winnerden Flats.” Heartening warmth piercing the hail. Balancing on the precipice, an album of scared and soulful sounds from this dark¬eyed light in modern electronic music.

Release:2018 / US – Original

The third release on the sister label, NEW YORK TRAX Imports, comes from the legendary Dutch producer and founder of one of the most eclectic underground record labels, Vincent Koreman aka Drvg Cvltvre of New York Haunted. Since 2009, Drvg Cvltvre has been working on his own blend of dystopian acid, no wave, and experimental house. Respected in the international underground for his groundbreaking work in experimental techno as RA-X in the 90′s on labels like Bunker and KK Records, Drvg Cvltvre comes from a DIY punk background and opts for hard work rather than hollow pose. The 4-track EP for NEW YORK TRAX Imports is an accurate representation of his style: dark and melancholic, but also uncompromisingly intense.

Apart from the host of his own local labels such as Viewlexx and Pinkman, Vincent Koreman aka Drvg Cvltvre has also branched out to other European labels such as the present Clasicos Del Ruido. The Spanish label has only put out a handful of EP’s prior to this latest outing, one of which consisted of industrial synth-pop sounds by Medio Escinico, so Koreman’s appearance is a welcomed surprise! The Dutchman comes through with the gargling, pseudo-electro rhythm that is “Komische Urkfraft”, a chilling set of hypnotic keys backed by a broken drum machine pattern on “There’s A Shadow Inside Of You”, and the furious “Juggling Knives”, a steady techno belter verging onto 303-laced madness. Strong and utterly nasty.

Shipwrec proudly present one of the pioneers of Dutch electronics. For some twenty years Vincent Koreman has been honing his sound, releasing on a plethora of labels such as Bunker, KK, Viewlexx, Mighty Robot Recordings and his own Angelmaker Records. Under the mask of Drvg Cvltvre brutish 303 soaked anger is being doled out. An Acid washed Industrial wrath comes in the form of American Psychosis [Part one]. "Acid Flash" sees a new collaboration with Bournmouth's Chris Moss Acid for a burning piece of aggression. Violent knob squawk is further punished by bullying beats, cruel claps and some late night horror. "I'll Wear Your Face On A Chain" has the same red mist behind the eyes. Shrill 303 chords run into abrasive drums with darkened vocals prophesising pain. Orwellian electronics : "If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face." The vinyl comes in a printed discosleeve with dra wings by Rutger Termohlen. "Part two" will have an outer sleeve to contain both records and another 3 drawings to complete "American Psychosis", including locked grooves on all sides!
