Only one copy per customer!Get Physical is proud to announce the release of the first ever album from Chicago house luminary DJ Pierre. Entitled Wild Pitch: The Story, it collects originals and remixes old and new, and stands as a testament to the unique skill of one of dance music’s most important figures.Famously, DJ Pierre as good as invented the squelch of acid house when playing with his Roland TR-303 drum machine as part of Phuture back in the late eighties. From there he went on to clock up more than 200 credits under aliases like Doomsday, Prime One, Raving Lunatics, AC!D FACE, DJ Pierre’s Afro Acid Project and many more.He also became famous for the Wild Pitch mixes and alias that lend this album its name: they were characterised by long intros, layer upon layer of strings, repetitive vocal samples, and filtered hypnotic sounds on hard beats. Working with labels like Strictly Rhythm, Trax, King Street, Nite Grooves, International Deejay Gigolo and more recently Get Physical, Pierre has contributed hugely to the global evolution of house music for thirty years plus. This is a timely reminder of that and one that is jam packed with essential tunes that, old or new, still sound impossibly fresh.Included is a cover version of Donna Summer’s classic and pioneering disco cut ‘I Feel Love’. It is a 9 minute masterpiece of loose drums, wild acid lines and synthesised squelches that build and build before the vocal arrives and carries you away to the stars. This is a landmark album that packs a real punch as well as documenting one of the most legendary figures house music has ever known.
Roland Leesker - Thunderstorm

Genre:Electronic / Dance
Two years after his last outing on Get Physical, Roland Leesker returns to the label of which he is Managing Director with a brilliant new track that comes with a remix from Cardopusher. Leesker has only put out a select few releases over the last 15 years-both solo and as DJ Carrera and R&R with none other than Ricardo Villalobos-but he has a truly fully formed sound. This tune has been doing serious damage in the clubs for a while now and makes you wonder why Leesker doesn't release more! Entitled 'Thunderstorm' it is seven minutes plus of moody and dramatic tech with heavy synth clouds, whining machines and turbulent drums all whipping up a storm. Manic keys and heavy chords come in and out as fizzing textures all make it a real synapse firing affair that is designed to arrest the attention of huge crowds, and it sure will do that. Venezuelan born Cardopusher has a diverse and experimental sound that takes him from techno to electro to acid to rave to house on labels like Super Rhythm Trax, Zone and BNR. Here he masterfully cooks up another frenzied track with spraying acid, heavy, marching and industrial drums and a real sense of rave energy that will dazzle as much as delight in any set. Finally, Leesker offers up his own 'Dschinn mix' providing even more raw energy. Angry drum rolls, stomping kicks and huge hi hats all piled up and force you onto action. It's a superbly metallic, in your face track to wake up a crowd in the late night hours. With this EP, Get Physical's sensational 2017 keeps on getting better.

Hot on the heels of System of Survival's latest album and exclusively on vinyl comes the D-Votion EP to Get Physical Music. The influential House duo present cuts from the album, ‘D-Votion' and ‘No Time To Waste', ‘D-Votion' is laid out first; a deep and groovy dancefloor track with low end grit and a funky swing it its step . A collaboration with Salvatore Stallone the track is very moving and nearly impossible to resist. ‘No Time to Waste' plays a hypnotically rhythmic synth over a steamy stage of sweaty percussion. Next we turn to the brand new vinyl-exclusive acid house number ‘Phantom Power' for a heavy dose of midnight action. With a very technoid feel, the acid's presence suspensefully builds a tension throughout while the bassline chugs the track further. Next SuRFBiT joins to present ‘Searching for a Wave', another track featured on the album. This one shines more sun with warm synths, soft vocals and gentle melodies. The collaboration ends the EP on a warm note, a special sound for a special dancefloor moment.

For a long time, Francesco Tristano has behaved, musically, like a wild child making fun of his parent´s supervision, and repeatedly ran away from home to visit forbidden locations. One only has to review last year´s agenda of concerts: in between solemn dates in important venues all over the planet where he interprets programs of baroque and contemporary music, centring around composers like Johann Sebastian Bach, Maurice Ravel, George Gershwin or Dietrich Buxtehude on the piano, are several commitments under the epigraph `Francesco Tristano live´. Those escapes have little to do with classical music; quite the opposite actually. They show that Francesco´s commitment to electronic sounds remains as alive as when he started to release his first “dance” records on Infiné, even though over the last years he consolidated his position as one of the most requested pianists with one of the most brilliant repertoires of his generation. When Francesco Tristano escapes to a club, the spirit which possesses him is the one of Techno, specifically the original Detroit sound. There, in the heat of the cabin, he switches from piano to synthesizer, from pedals to software and what flows out of the speakers is a kind of music, which can only fit in this hedonistic context and the celebration of the body: expansive, rhythmic, emotional, sprinkled with piano stabs and unstoppable grooves. The material he uses is typically self-composed and unreleased, secretly produced in seclusion, to nurture a musical discourse, which only makes sense if it´s carried out like some kind of jam session.

Anyone who takes it upon themselves to contemplate over the history of house music, along with its highlights and key players, will inevitably stumble upon DJ Pierre's name sooner or later. The Chicago-born producer and DJ has been living and breathing underground dance music, namely house, since its inception in his very own hometown. For this very special Get Physical release, we've decided to pay homage to DJ Pierre's contribution to the worldwide dance community by way of an epic re-release of that most iconic of tracks, ‚What is House Muzik'. Originally released in 1994, the classic gets the Get Physical treatment with a slew of remixes in celebration of house music's eternal place in our hearts and its resurge in popularity amongst today's club goers. A special-edition vinyl born of a very special digital compilation. The union of many celebrated artists in honor of a landmark of house music -namely, DJ Pierre's ‚What is House Muzik' - gives way to what we have here: 36 minutes of pure, unadulterated Villalobos at his most characteristic. 36 minutes of a master's knack for deconstructing and putting back together in the most abstract of ways. Ricardo Villalobos asked himself What is House Muzik? and the answer took him to a deep, dubby land that he walks us through for all of 36 minutes, complete with bubbling rhythms and bone-dry kicks. 18 minutes on each side and a good long while to ruminate on that now almost-metaphysical of questions: What, indeed, is house music?
