Limited edition for Record Store Day 2017!Limited edition on clear acid green vinyl!Goblin's name is very popular since the year of ""Profondo Rosso"" (1975), but even those who know them in depth ""Notturno"" remains an almost completely unknown chapter within their vast discography. The production the music was composed for was edited in two versions, a theatrical one released in 1983 and a television one in seven episodes that was broadcasted only three years later.Led at the time by Fabio Pignatelli (bass), Maurizio Guarini (keyboards) and Antonio Marangolo (saxophone), with the precious contribution of Derek Wilson (drums) and Marco Rinalduzzi (guitar) - from the line-up that had just recorded ""Volo"" - Goblin composed the music for ""Notturno"" already at the end of 1981, upon request by the RAI TV producers. The recorded material was then selected by Cinevox, that only in '83 published the film's soundtrack on LP: given the poor success of the film, also the soundtrack album went virtually unnoticed. It was a pity, because Goblin here returned to work in a field where they almost have no competitors, that of music for films, creating a work that is tense and melancholic at the same time, combining jazz-rock and fusion with the sounds of the early '80s; tension, however - which can't be missed in a spy movie - is always delivered by the soundtrack rock component. The essence of Goblin's music is completely enclosed in the beautiful ""Nocturne"", an opening track that swings among echoes of '007', references to the ""Zombi / Dawn of the Dead"" OST, energetic guitar riffs and synthesizers that dialogue with the keyboards.Re-released on CD a couple times, ""Notturno"" has never been reissued on vinyl before. This AMS Records edition, exclusively made for the Record Store Day 2017, expands the original tracklist with the addition of unreleased takes and with a completely different artwork and a poster that includes a presentation text and reproductions of rare material related to the movie. Although not excellent from the sole cinematographic point of view, musically ""Notturno"" is yet another jewel made by artists that had film music rushing in their blood!

"Phenomena", a film by Dario Argento from 1985, is today an international cult classic of horror cinema, born once again from the Italian director’s incredible imagination. The original soundtrack was a mix of songs from the duo Simonetti-Pignatelli, made specifically for the film, together with others already published by Iron Maiden, Moto?rhead, Andi Sex Gang and Bill Wyman.

"Amo non amo" (I love you I love you not), the Italian drama film directed by Armenia Balducci in 1979, was an ambitious work at the time, with an exceptional ‘imported’ cast, including Jaqueline Bisset, Maximillian Schell and Terence Stamp . The copies of the films distributed overseas were accompanied by the orchestral score written by Burt Bacharach, while the original soundtrack was composed, unexpectedly, by Goblin. The compositions of "Amo non amo" are varied, alternating melancholy and intimate pieces with hard rock and funky songs, but retaining the unmistakable ‘Goblin touch’ thanks to the presence of the classic Claudio Simonetti, Fabio Pignatelli, Agostino Marangolo, assisted by talented Carlo Pennisi (formerly of Flea, Etna, Libra and then in New Perigeo) on guitar and Antonio Marangolo’s saxophone, a regular collaborator of the band. This edition edited by AMS Records sees the “Amo non amo” OST published in its entirety on vinyl. Among the ‘new’ pieces, in addition to the film version of the main issues, we have a short but wonderful "Amo non amo (alternate tensive film version)" and "Amo non amo (‘Notte’ alternate mix)": the latter is an entirely instrumental and remixed version of "Notte", which was originally inserted in "Il fantastico viaggio del Bagarozzo Mark".To finally make this a unique publication we have a new cover artwork especially made for this release by the Genoese graphic studio Giant's Lab, and exclusive contributions on biographical and record information by two of the greatest experts of the ‘Goblin matter’, Fabio Capuzzo and Roberto Attanasio.

After a lengthy silence, Goblin reunited in 2000, again for a soundtrack for their long-time friend Dario Argento. As a matter of fact, "NonHoSonno" (sleepless) will be the last record made by the original line-up, and for many fans this is one of their best works, if not THE best ever.Of course the original sound of the band is filtered by a more modern production, and the band focuses on symphonic synths and rather heavy guitar work. Surprisingly enough this soundtrack works great even as astand-alone record. Songs are catchy and there are no weak moments, that are pretty normal for traditional soundtracks. An amazing and outstanding comeback!Still this is the Goblin we love: heavy, doomy, creepy and dark!Black vinyl with different back cover compared to the coloured editions. Now the history notes which were on the mega-poster are on the back cover.

Roller was the second record for Goblin, originally released in 1976, just after the successful score ofProfondo Rosso, and is one of the very few Goblin records that was not intended to be a soundtrack.By many considered their best effort, in Roller the band develops their dark, hypnotic and totally instrumentalsound, but with an always vivacious and dynamic edge. The record also features new members AgostinoMarangolo (from Flea) and Massimo Guarini.Never reissued on vinyl before, great sounding 180g high quality vinyl!

Probably the most scary soundtrack Goblin has ever written (don't listen to it when the lights are down!); it seems that the score was composed before the film was ready, so that director Dario Argento had to make some changes to the movie script, in order to have the music perfectly suited! This legendary soundtrack combines elements of music and sound scary effects going far beyond traditional background scoring, becoming an integral part of the film. As critics say nowadays, SUSPIRIA music "is so perfectly integrated into the film, fares less well as a stand-alone item. All that pounding, howling, thumbing, and wheezing is enough to send chills down your spine even without the movie images (it is the perfect imaginary soundtrack), but not all of it could be called a pleasant listening experience (unless your idea of pleasant is having your nerves set on edge)".180gr. high quality black vinyl edition.
