Written post two standout, future-blurring albums for Planet Mu - `ParallelMemories' (2014) and `Devout' (2017) - `Primary Progressive' again looks inward toMitch's own life experiences for inspiration, forming its own, thoughtful counter tothe quiet happiness explored in his music over the last four years. While standoutcuts on `Devout' included the heartfelt `Priority' ft. P Money, which celebrated thejoys of fatherhood, and the sweet and tender `Our Love', `Primary Progressive'instead touches on Mitch's fathers battle with MS and the varying emotions thatcome with it. Addressing it directly on `Show Me', Mitch explains that the title of histhe record is also a nod to his father's illness. `Primary Progressive' also marks anexcursion from the sugary, delicate, away-from-the-club tropes Mitch has pushedboth via his own productions and from producers like Orlando and Odeko onGobstopper. Returning to the dancefloor via the crisp, dancehall twang of trackslike `Settle' and the brooding `Phantom Dance', Mitch proves that he still has a tightgrip on making the club both move and think.

"Rose Tinted Vision Implant" sees the Bath-based producer creating a cutting edgesonic world inspired by "speculative fiction, time/reality shifting stories anddystopian shit." The entire record is structured around, and expands upon hispassion for the "future," underpinning the music via an underlining narrative. "RoseTinted Vision Implant" starts with "The User" (aka the listener/ protagonistdepending on your perspective) of the 'Optic.Rose' going through the process ofgetting an implant is made by a mega corporation. Sonically we're there toobserve. We open ("Anomaly Detection") with a precursory scan and move ontoinstallation ("OpticRose_0_1_Installation") through to a battery change and arecalibration. From this point, the 'presence' begins to take over the implant andthe tracks verge into a more cerebral range. Odeko notes "its a bit of a satire oncorporate brands pushing these great products that everyone is obsessed but thatare detrimental to both the world, and how we perceive reality. Our relationshipwith social media and tech could go down a dangerous path if we loose sight ofthings. I'm going quite far here for the sake of the concept, but things like VR, AR,the want for body tech, mixed with our desire to be connected, emotionally, digitally, physically, wirelessly could lead us to a world where everyone hasimplants, or some kind of tech built into them." Sonically its a record that exploresa post-IDM, post-Grime, post-Ambient, post-Glitch, post-Retro-House, postInstrumentalGrime, take on electronic music.

Formerly known as Orlando Volcano, the moniker under which he released his debutEP, 'Complete Concrete', on Liminal Sounds, Orlando - like Mr. Mitch - is a producerwho places emotion at the heart of his output. "My work explores themes of landscapeand environment and a constant longing for the unobtainable", he explains. 'The TideThat Moves Me' functions around these core threads, with the hopeful, new-age pop ofthe title-track, the soft, melody-rich dancehall of 'Cyaa Done' featuring new-schoolJamaican vocalist Nemesis, and the glistening, wistful electronica of 'The SmokeDescends' all referencing a range of warming, open-ended emotions. Alongside theshimmering 'Sensory Deprivation Tank' - a track that comes alive with sporadic drumbursts to give the EP mettle for the dance - Orlando has honed in on a sound thatfunctions in its own, bubble-like space, illuminating gorgeous, high-level sound designand his take on future club tropes in the process.

Dublin born A/V duo CLU release four track ‘Mood' EP, set for release through Gobstopper Records on 18th November 2016. Dublin born musician Sean Cooley and visual artist Kevin Freeney formed CLU in 2011 as a way to play music and showcase artwork simultaneously to their friends in venues and galleries across the city. Growing up in the 1990s, they witnessed the birth of mass produced 3D computer animations and the conceptual god complexes that came with the Internet. These two very apparent influences made them immerse themselves in the ever intertwining mediums of sound and vision, giving CLU a very unique approach to their live AV shows. Influences of trance, R&B, videogame and film scores, grime and industrial permeate Cooley's productions, which bubble with multitudes of synths and maintain a focus on bass driven twists. Visually, Freeney engages in a surrealist depth that skips on the brink between digital film and generative animations. This connection between the two forms a symbiotic chemistry that aims to bridge the gap between the white cubed galleries of visual art and the dark basements of electronic music to create soaring galactic oddities.
