Estonian DJ and producer Ali Asker drops three original productions on Green Village Records with remixes from Plan B boss DJ Spider and Sistrum Recordings owner Patrice Scott. Ali Asker is an exciting emerging talent who runs the burgeoning Liitheli Records in Estonia. A meeting at a Berlin jazz night sparked a relationship between him and Green Village Records. Two years later and Asker is finally releasing his 'Ascent EP' on the label, joined by two highly regarded producers on remix duties; DJ Spider, one of New York's most reputable underground producers, as well as Detroit's Patrice Scott, who has consistently delivered quality deep house for well over a decade.

Tracks by Thefft & Toyc, BD1982, Eighth Ruin and Etch!New Jersey's Green Village imprint return with the second Village Elders compilation, comprising four original cuts from Thefft/TOYC, BD1982, Eighth Ruin and Etch. Since 2014 Cloy, Em-Et and Hilla's Green Village vinyl only imprint has acted as a beacon for forward thinking house, techno and bass music genre's alike, recruiting DJ Spider, Franklin De Costa, Dakini9, Nicuri, plus more. Now stepping up with Village Elders 002, Green Village utilise a group of versatile UK producers including Embassy's Thefft alongside Crazylegs' TOYC, Keysound's break scientist Etch, mysterious producer Eighth Ruin, and Tokyo based BD1982 who co-runs Diskotopia. Thefft and TOYC's 'Atlantic' opens the package with syncopated rhythms laced with jittery organic hits, before spiralling sonics and twisted melodies get hooked into a rattling 808 sub line. BD1982 then steps up with 'In '95', utilising sparse rhythms alongside tightly programmed loops and synthetic ambience to create a 16-bit atmosphere before employing rolling subs to propel the cut forward. Eighth Ruin then ups the ante with razor sharp percussion in 'Whip', which pulsates along its waveform thanks to a warm undulating bass, aided by IDM-tinged synth breakdowns and pitched down vocals. Etch then delivers his new-wave break science in 'Predator', layering loops alongside a hypnotic reese in tandem with menacing vocals and glistening atmospherics. Village Elders 002 drops on Green Village on 25th July 2017.

After releases from the likes of Dakini9, Fox and Franklin Da Costa, it was only natural that Jersey City-based label Green Village would turn to DJ Spider for a new 12 inch. Well, it seems natural to us, in any case. The NYC artist is now a respected member of the Big Apple's contemporary house and techno wave, and it's an absolute must for him to be represented on the city's bubbling scene, especially when he's up for firing off tunes like "Space Jungle" and Satsang", two mean, club-minded house bangers with a prominent lower-end. "Divide & Conquer" turns things darker and more ominous thanks to its icy, minimal approach - a cold blend of stripped-back beats and circling bass tones - while "Urantia Of Nebadon" displaces the traditional house framework in favour of a dark, molecular selection of electronic sounds guided by a simple pattern of 4/4 beats. Classic Spider material...

Storming into our fifth release from the dirty shores of New Jersey, Green Village is proud to present Village Elders 001, a compilation EP featuring new material from artists who have already flown the flag for GV. The A-side is held down by the Plan B duo of DJ Spider and Dakini9, purveyors of the Metro Area's dirtiest and deepest house sounds. Spider gets toxic a second time, following his 2013 Instruction drop with 'Toxic Trace 2', a thickly layered deep house cut whose seedy percussion underbelly contrasts vividly with the more traditional deep house pads that accompany it. Dakini9's 'Lost Paradise' is dark and mysterious like its title, the hats, trumpets, and vocals emerging in tangled webs of dub effects, a strong follow-up to her dope EP for the label. Disaroen, a duo from Toronto, half of which previously appeared on GV, turns in the most barren of the four tracks, 'Serious Doorman', heads-down techno that crackles to life halfway in and an auspicious debut for a promising new group. Last is NJ heavyweight Nicuri, a rising star whose 'Ripples of Time' closes the EP in his signature searching, melodic style.
