In October 2017 Honey Dijon was commissioned to take part in the Smirnoff ‘We’re Open’ campaign, aiming to promote inclusive night time culture and celebrate nightlife's ability to transcend gender boundaries and prejudice. As well as appearing in the ‘We’re Open’ TV commercial, Honey was asked to record her take on the initiative’s ethos for creating positive change, making dance music culture a more open-minded and socially inclusive space. What resulted was a rework of ‘Queen of Disco’ Sylvester’s ‘Stars’ featuring vocals by singer-songwriter Sam Sparro, who she collaborated with previously on her album ‘The Best of Both Worlds’. Now being released on limited edition blue vinyl via Classic Music Company, with breathtaking artwork from assume vivid astro focus who also supplied cover artwork for the album, the entire proceeds from the release will be donated to LGBT Foundation.

Sound-tracking her unerring dedication to living and breathing dance music and club culture around the world, Classic Music Company presents this double 12” to accompany Honey Dijon’s debut artist album ‘The Best of Both Worlds’. Featuring collaborations with the most relevant artists that dance music has to offer in 2017, the album is one of the most anticipated events in this year’s house music calendar, preceded by Honey’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, relentless worldwide touring demand, international media attention and three critically-acclaimed lead-up singles.Eight tracks from the album are in the vinyl package, including singles with Cakes da Killa on the Hip House enthused ‘Catch The Beat’ and Sam Sparro on classic dance track update ‘Look Ahead’, strutting elegantly through Honey’s tough "Berlin-meets-New York" style. And the list of exceptional collaborators continues. Exclusive album material includes featured vocals from progressive New York artist Nomi Ruiz on ‘Why’ and ‘Love Muscle’, as well as Joi Cardwell. Remastered versions of ‘Burn’ and ‘Thunda’ are included too, plus a brand new mix of the incredible ‘Houze’ featuring Seven Davis Jr.Honey describes the concept of the album in her own words: “The album is a personal statement. It was about taking these different worlds and combining them to make something new. The Best Of Both Worlds was a pun that I wanted to take, empower and own.”

incl. Matrixxman Remix A bastion of magnetic style and mixing board finesse, Honey Dijon continues to exceed her bounds, pushing through from the underground of New York to become a cultural, global star. Her Classic follow-up to ‘Houze’ with Seven David Jnr, the provocative ‘Personal Slave’ is unapologetic, hedonist and achingly cool.Honey has teamed up with Charles Duff aka Charles McCloud, who lends his seductively sulky tones for the vocal on the record. Murky and mechanical, cowbell ‘dinks’ and a percussive breakdown lift the mood, keeping the tracks’ feet firmly in the ‘house’ bracket. Consistently, Honey’s productions piece together her familiar Chicago jack with a contemporary New York edge. This track goes further in exploring that hybrid style, delivered with Honey’s signature lushness.A strong force in the US techno scene under his Matrixxman moniker, Charles Duff appears again for remix duties on the ‘Dungeon Dub’, which as the name suggests is profoundly dark and moody, resonating highly with his regular slots at Berghain. The ‘Drum Machine Mix’ hones in on the percussive work, playing with a visceral, hypnotic vibe that is so potent it’s almost dangerous. If this release is any indication of Honey’s intentions for this year, 2017 will see Honey continue her ascension as a music icon.
