Stricly limited edition 7inch collection set!Only one copy per customer!1999 classic debut album presented as a deluxe set, with seven 7-Inches on seven shades of colored vinyl; 2 unique Doom 45 adapters; new artwork by original cover artist Lord Scotch; and customer leatherette outer box with silver-foil Doom mask and logoAs other appearances and singles trickled through the underground, by 1999 the album Operation: Doomsday appeared seemingly out of nowhere, again on Fondle ‘Em, and fans who actively ran from the glitzier side of rap music ate it up like they had been on a hunger strike. Musically raw and at-times off-kilter, former Fondle ‘Em singles like the aforementioned tunes plus “Gas Drawls,” “Hey!” and “Go With The Flow” were joined by a whole slew of new tunes. It all sounded familiar but new at the same time.It shouldn’t be overlooked that in addition to the dusty, wobbling music, the former Zev Love X completely changed up his vocal style on the tracks that would land on Doomsday, chopping his flow up and bringing a whole new approach to his formerly liquid, and often humorous lyricism.Standouts on this bonafide underground masterwork are honestly hard to pick, since fans each have their own Doom faves. But “Doomsday,” “Rhymes Like Dimes,” “The MIC,” the experimental “Tick, Tick…” (with MF Grimm) and “Red & Gold” (with King Ghidra) are great examples of how stretched-out this visionary album is.This new 7-Inch Collection edition via Get On Down includes seven 7-Inches that run in order of the songs from the original issue (including interludes). The records are housed in a custom black leatherette outer-box that is laced with silver-foil renderings of Doom’s legendary mask and bubble graffiti logo on the outside, and a never-seen-before Doom drawing by the legendary Lord Scotch, the original artist behind the Operation: Doomsday art, on the inside. In addition to holding the 7-inch vinyl, the box also contains two metallic-silver colored 45 adapters, each a 3D rendering of Doom’s gladiator mask. Picture sleeves for each of the seven pieces of wax all feature brand new work by Lord Scotch (Blake Lethem aka KEO aka Scotch79th) as well: new hand-lettered track listings on one side, and incredible new color illustrations on the flip that, when laid side-by-side, fit together like puzzle pieces, to form one large image. Each seven-inch comes in a unique vinyl color: Purple Transparent, Red Transparent, Lime Green Opaque, Orange Opaque, Yellow Transparent, Turquoise Opaque, and Classic Black. The set also includes a booklet, and is wrapped in a Japanese-style OBI strip that features the OG album cover in all of its glory.Features:• Seven 7-inches, each a different vinyl color• Custom black leatherette outer box with silver-foil rendered images of DOOM’s famed mask and logo• Two never-before-commercially available silver-colored DOOM 45 adapters• Each 7-inch has a custom sleeve designed by legendary graf artist Lord Scotch (Blake Lethem), who drew the original Operation: Doomsday cover.• Colored vinyl edition limited to 1,500 copies worldwide.

Back again on vinyl where it belongs, MF DOOM's 1999 classic Operation: Doomsday is now presented on a premium grade 2LP, with audio re-mastered from the original Fondle'Em Records release, and a poster of the album cover art! Underneath his mysterious metal mask, MF DOOM hides the cachet underground legends are made of. After KMD (his first group)’s 1994 sophomore album Bl_ck B_st_rds was shelved by Elektra in 1994 and his blood brother Subroc (one half of the sibling rap duo) passed away, surviving front man Zev Love X mutated into the MC Avenger known as MF DOOM and the Rap world is better for it. This 19-cut deep album is ridiculously dope, in a bizarre Ol’ Dirty Bastard kind of way. Doom sounds either high or drunk on most of the tracks, his self-produced beats are gritty, and his rhyme styles are almost indecipherable.

Doom sounds either high or drunk on most of the tracks, his self-produced beats are gritty, and his rhyme stylesare almost indecipherable. On arguably the best track, “Rhymes Like Dimes,” Doom weaves some pointed lyrics throughhis abstract wordplay, spitting ‘only in America could you find a way to earn a healthy buck / And still keep your attitudeon self-destruct.’Who You Think I Am? features DOOM‘s crew M.onster I.sland C.zars, while on “?” he trades hot verses with formerColumbia artist Kurious Jorge. Doom’s avant-garde ghetto-rhyme philosophies take even more intentionally weird twistson “Tick, Tick...” where he and guest MC MF Grimm’s flows warble over a rhythm track whose tempo speeds up andslows down continually. The comic-book themed skits, will help take you deep into the mind of an MC who is as otherworldlyas they come. And in today’s bland commercial Rap universe, Operation: Doomsday’s left-of-center beats andrhymes are the perfect remedy.

From his early days as Zev Love X to his reinvention as a masked supervillain leading the indie hip-hop revolution, lyrical savant MF DOOM has remained one of the most interesting figures in the rap universe. While most fans already worship classic albums like “Operation Doomsday”, “MM...FOOD”, and “Madvillainy”, DOOM’s output also includes a number of guest appearances, non-album singles, promo tracks, and other rarities that never made it onto an official release. Now, those tracks are finally available on “Unexpected Guests“, a limited-edition vinyl collection showcasing rare MFDOOM material. Included are collaborations with the likes of Talib Kweli, J Dilla, Ghostface Killah, Sean Price, Count Bass D, Vast Aire, Masta Killa and more. Many of these tracks have never been available on vinyl before, making “Unexpected Guests” an essential addition to DOOM’s already impressive catalog.

Ask any true hip-hop fan and he can tell you exactly where and when he first heard MF Doom’s OperationDoomsday. Against seeming insurmountable odds, the album - bootlegged mercilessly, floating in and out of print on various labels since it's release in 1999 gained mythical status amongst music aficionados of allbackgrounds as one of the landmark releases of the past decade. At it's core, one man, a microphone, anMPC 2000 and a Roland VS 1680. By the time of Operation Doomsday’s recording, DOOM was a transformed man: a veteran of hip hop’s aging “new school” reinvented as the masked, abstract wordsmith of the NOW. His pointed wit, subtly subversive lyrics and stream-of-conscious flow over adventuroussample-based production created the yard stick by which rappers in the coming decade would measurethemselves. Now Doom’s own Metal Face Records will release Operation Doomsday as a special remastered and expanded two-disc set, featuring a 32-page lyric book and a complete collection of alternate versions, B-sides and instrumental. San Francisco-based artist Jason Jagel, who provided the painting for DOOM’s “MM...Food”, was enlisted to create both an updated version of the album’s iconic comic-book style cover art especially for this release. The entire set was produced under the watchful eyes of Doom himself. Expanded and deluxe, this is the complete Operation Doomsday experience.
