The third full-length by Annelies Monseré is, in a way, both a step back and a move forward. Much like her debut-album 'Helder' the music is rather sparse. At the same time 'Debris' is more folk, doom and drone-infused than her previous works. Most tracks are focused on vocals and just a few instruments, though Monseré manages to produce a very full sound. The only additional musicians on this album are Stevey Marreyt and Yumi Verplancke, both of whom also appeared on the EP 'Nest'. 'Debris' is recommended if you like Richard Youngs, Shirley Collins, Nico, Crescent, melodic drones and folk-oriented ambient.

Gayle Brogan, a key figure in the experimental music scene since the mid nineties, first gained recognition as one half of the remarkable duo Electroscope, mixing psychedelic pop, lo'fi, drones and folk. As the woman behind Boa Melody Bar she became a well known distributor of underground music as well. Since Electroscope went on hiatus in 2000, Gayle picked up the name Pefkin, and continued on the same path, though the music shifted a bit more towards free-form folk and longer drone pieces. This resulted in a string of well-received releases on labels s.a. Pseudoarcana, Foxglove and Ruralfaune. This 2014 album is pressed on high-quality vinyl in a limited edition of 100 copies and is packaged in an open sleeve with download coupon.

The Iditarod was a pioneering group in the folkscene of the early 2000s. Their handmade music drew from traditional folk songs, 1960's psychedelia, and DIY culture. Although often overlooked, their legacy is immense. This album brings together oddments and although these songs were never meant to be together as an album, they do work as one. These tracks feature contributions by Margie Wienk (Fern Knight) and Sharron Kraus. The album comes with extensive liner notes, artwork by vocalist Carin Sloan and a download coupon, in an edition of 150 copies. "Minimal kind of bleak psychedelic folk that owes as much to the somnambulism of Bristol's Movietone as it does to early 70s private press semi-legends like Stone Angel or Caedmon. Stunning." ~The Wire.
