Next up on Nang it is time for a slice of spot-on male vocal house and disco. Liverpool based Thomas Lang made some fine albums in the 80s and 90s with John Murphy (who went on to carve a highly successful career in movie tracks) and David Hughes. Somewhere in between that and a string of recent albums (Torch Songs and The German Alphabet) he also managed to buy one of the finest recording studios in North West England, Parr Street Studios (the "Abbey Road of the North").We are pleased here at Nang to see a new avenue turned in Tom's life, his first foray into the dance world. "Scared" was written with late Liverpool songwriter John Uriel quite some time ago. It first emerged as a b-side to Tom's comeback single "August Day" in 2011. Here at Nang we always loved the smooth and sophisticated vocal and melody. When Tom suggested some remixes we were on board."Scared" is a peak time vocal house track, here presented with remix options. The a-side sees fellow Liverpool DJ crew The Imposters taking the track on a dubbed out trip, before flipping over for their hypnotic, swing-house rework which highlight the layered vocals and smooth sax. Camanchi take us for some peak time House action.

Magic Fly gets 4 huge remixes from The Orb, Greg Wilson & Peza, Richard Norris, and Sare Havlicek. We've compiled a selection of remixes for Space's massive hit "Magic Fly" which originally came out in 1977 on an album of the same name. The track went to number two in the UK singles chart and since then the band have become one of the most notable artists of the short-lived space disco music scene, returning with onstage remake performances since 1992.The Orb's remix is first on the package, bringing their signature ambient sound to the track with a dreamy soundscape at its core as the original elements of the track drift in and out.The Greg Wilson and Peza version follows, beefing up the percussion and adding an extra layer of cosmic melodies before label mate Richard Norris takes the spacey groove and oscillates it even further, bringing an eighties tinge to the seventies classic.Sare Havlicek then extends the track into something longer and more DJ friendly, drawing out elements of the original across eight minutes to create a chugging dropped-tempo workout.

It is time for the Nang and Rayko worlds to collide once more. The awesome Madrid-based DJ and producer is back with his second album on Nang. As ever the grooves are wide, the beats are large and the musical elements ooze funk and nu disco sheen.Thing open up with the title track and recent single "No Stopping". The track features the fine vocals from Tania Haroshka and it is a powerhouse of synth disco, electronic groove with real bass guitar and darting guitars giving it just a tint of Miami Vice sheen. 2016 single "Crazy" is up next with it's catchy hooks and counter melodies. It comes with just the right amount of good-time groove to bring a smile to any face. Things tone down "Robot Life" which is a creeping synth fest with wandering grooves and chunky drums.Danielle Moore features with a fine vocal on a 'pure Rayko' style classic "Cosmic Pirate". Muscular basses and darting guitars being deployed to maximum effect. "Ocarina Of Time" is next with its layered complexity and stabby synth bass notes.Tania Haroshika returns for the final trio of tunes on the album. Her fine vocals melding effortlessly with the slick production from our hero. First up is "HOT" which builds the music slowly adding layers of multi tracked guitars and real bass before breaking forth into song. "U" sneaks in from the leftfield with its quirky strings and arpegiated synth-clavi lines. The album closes with the (slightly) melancholic and pensive groover "Space Boat". Tania adding a brooding vocal over a pulsating juno style bassline.A fine effort from our Madrid based hero who once again shows everyone what this "top-of-his-game" DJ-producer can do with some guitars and keyboards. Bravo

Release:2017 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
We are proud to present Sare's fourth album "Softmachine". It is a ten track synthesizer epic which takes us through multiple musical flavors of electronica, Italo, dancefloor, disco and smooth soul pop. All threads are neatly bound up and unified by the common principles of smooth electronics, solid melody and slick song-writing.The album opens with the intro track and scene setter, "Dreamachine". It is a dystopian synth algorithm which is one part aural mindscape, one part electronic opus and one part sci-fi soundtrack. A perfect scene setter. "Everybody Freak Out" bursts open the flood gates with a tide of funky swing, brash disco swagger and catchy lead lines. "Softmachine" shows Sare's finely honed song-writing prowess with its lazy grooves, 80's sparkling synths and meandering robotized main vocal line.Next the dancefloor calls with a peak-time disco vocal groover "Like You Wanna Do". It features a vocal from Vaarka delivering a fine performance. Multi-layered guitars, perky bass guitar and a pulsing groove power this track along. "Here Comes That Sound" carries on the dancefloor vocal vein with its 4-4 beats, driving bass and sweet strings sitting perfectly alongside a multi vocalled chorused vocal from Barbara Grabar, Kristina Strasek and Vanja Dizdarevic. On the flipside things open with "Riot", sawtoothy synth waves and darting keyboard lines lead the way in this sci-fi sound track with a core of antagonism at its core. "Science Of The Beat" follows with its stabby synth bass, rolling stabs and vocodered main lines. "Music and Lies" layers in sweet synth pads, melancholy meanderings and just a touch of forlorn sadness into its melodies. To round things off "No Chance To Dance" digs deep into the Chic vibes with its percussive chop-guitar, on-the-beat bass guitar and swinging hand-clap disco beats. The album closes with the painfully optimistic "Perpetual Rise", a Metropolis meets Vangelis like analog synthesizer masterclass.Stay tuned for more from Sare on Nang shortly.

Next up on our album manoeuvres we head back up to Sheffield. "Hiem" are back with their 3rd album, the galactic cornucopia that is "Hotspace". It is a fine follow up to the 2013 "Escape from Division Street" released here on Nang. "Hiem" consist of dynamic duo of Nick Eastwood & Bozzwell (he was the live vocalist for "The All Seeing I" who scored a worldwide hit with "The Beat Goes On" in 1998).We have always thought of Hiem as one part grown-up dance pop, one part fine 80's tinged songs and one part slightly weird and quirky. The third album doesn't disappoint managing to cram all those descriptions (and more) across ten fine songs.Things open up with the recent single, the high fashion disco stomper "High Life". Pure Nang sound distilled down into one song. Driving bass, snaking sax and snazzy keys. Next it is a breather in the form of part one of the "Hotspace" song quadrilogy. Part one is a sombre scene setting piano piece sounding like a long lost Eno B-side from 1978. Next things kick off with the sparking night time shimmer of part 2, "Hot Space" itself. Percussive bass guitar and shimmering guitar wrap around the sci-fi themed tour de force.Keeping things stratospheric we next slow things down for some sub-orbital slow-synth grooves with "Oxygene". To close off the Hotspace segment "Telepath" looms large with its pending-alien-invasion groove and slow pulsing basses. After a quick flip of the vinyl we slip and slide with a slow snaking groove of "My Evil Friend". Channelling some 10cc Dreadlock groove the pair next give us "That Girl She Made Me Cry".On every Hiem record there is a that section of light relief. This time "Monkey Office" fills that space with a cautionary tale of 9-to-5-ism. To close off the album first is the Bowie-esqe low minimalism of "Gortlizer Park" and the slow perc-groove funk of "Sign Of The Times".Album three, locked and loaded. Check out the lovely red vinyl version!
