From the director and composers of ‘Nekromantik’Limited Classic Black Vinyl pressing, comes with obiFirst ever vinyl release as an expanded editionOne Way Static Records presents: Jörg Buttgereit’s ‘DER TODESKING’ (Original 1989 Expanded Motion Picture Soundtrack by DAKTARI LORENZ, HERMANN KOPP & JOHN BOY WALTON).Jörg Buttgereit is a Berlin based writer and director known for his controversial movies. The film that got the most attention and started of his career was no doubt ‘Nekromantik’ from 1987. Nekromantik became an international cult film that was banned in several countries. Two years later, in 1989 Jörg directed ‘Der Todesking (The Death King)’. This experimental style movie, which does not use central characters, explores the topic of suicide and violent death in the form of seven episodes, each one attributed to one day of the week. These episodes are enframed by the vision of a human body, slowly rotting during the course of the movie.Daktari Lorenz, Hermann Kopp & John Boy Walton make up the holy trio of composers called upon by film maker Jörg Buttgereit. Between the three of them they produced some of the most haunting and beautiful tracks to be paired up with Buttgereit’s controversial on-screen works of art.The Lo-Fi synthesizer music in the movie is dark and quirky and contributes an essential part of the movie’s atmosphere, and is something you would very, very rarely hear otherwise. The main theme of the movie, “Die Fahrt ins Reich der Menschentrümmer part I-III” is a classical masterpiece. The score for ‘Der Todesking’ displays the dynamic ability and range of the composers. It strikes a perfect balance of beauty, horror, joy and dissonance. The score is both minimalistic and hauntingly atmospheric at the core, and yet remarkably complex at the same time. A wide variety of instruments and sound effects are utilized throughout it’s making. One Way Static now proudly presents for the first time on vinyl as an expanded release, the complete soundtrack to ‘Der Todesking’. This limited vinyl release contains the original soundtrack (released back in 1990 as a limited 7”EP) and unreleased material sourced from recently discovered tapes.

Soundtrack to the SF-horror classic ’The Blob’ (1988) released for the first time on vinyl. Soundtrack by Kraut/Electronic pioneer Michael Hoenig (Tangerine Dream). Limited black vinyl pressing (with obi strip). One Way Static Records proudly presents, for the FIRST TIME on vinyl: MICHAEL HOENIG’S 1988 soundtrack for THE BLOB.The Blob is a 1988 American SF-Horror film written and directed by Chuck Russell (Dream Warriors, The Mask) & Frank Darabont (The Fly II, The Mist, Tales from the Crypt). The film stars ‘Shawnee Smith’ (Saw), ‘Kevin Dillon’ (Platoon, Entourage) and Jeffrey DeMunn (The Hitcher). Special effects in the film were handled by legendary makeup artist ‘Tony Gardner’, known for his work on Army Of Darkness, Darkman, The Return Of The Living Dead…and who helped create the signature helmets for Daft Punk.A remake of the 1958 horror film of the same name, The Blob is all about an amorphous acidic amoeba-like organism that devours and dissolves anything in its path as it grows, where it begins to feed on the residents of the fictional town of Arborville, California. Much like the original film, the remake has gained a cult following after its theatrical release in 1988.Soundtrack duties for the film were handled by German composer Michael Hoenig, who actually doesn’t need much of an introduction.Hoenig was part of the burgeoning progressive Kraut & Kosmische rock scene in Berlin where he was a member of the band ‘Agitation Free’ in 1971. In 1975 Hoenig joined the electronic-pioneer band ‘Tangerine Dream’ and then went on to collaborate with other big names like Klaus Schulze’ & Manuel Göttsching (of Ash Ra Tempel). In 1977 he released his first solo album, the highly acclaimed Berlin School classic ‘Departure From The Northern Wasteland’.Over the course of multiple decades, Emmy award nominee Michael Hoenig has composed a diverse and extensive catalog of material that includes the theme to ‘Dark Skies’, the soundtrack to the extremely popular ‘Baldur’s Gate’ PC game…and countless others. Horror scores composed by Hoenig include Class Of 1999 (1990) & The Gate (1987)…he also performed on the soundtrack for Galaxy Of Terror (1981).Michael’s music for The Blob is classic top shelf synth-driven electronica that fits the film like a glove. The voices, dark strings and feverish percussion create a rhythmic drive that embodies heroic desperation and a massive sense of relentless doom. Hoenig fashioned a creepy, compelling and atmospheric synth-based score, unleashing textured waves of sonic terror and suspense.

OWS proudly presents the original soundtrack to ‘Herederos De La Bestia’ composed and performed by BUIO MONDO.‘Herederos De La Bestia’ is documentary film about Álex de la Iglesia’s classic 1995 apocalypse-horror story ‘El Dia De La Bestia’ (The Day Of The Beast). More than two decades after its premiere, the movie continues to be THE great go-to example if you want to mix the most brutal fantastic with the Spanish tradition of the grotesque. Comprised of equal parts high-concept horror and scathing social satire (in the mode of the director's peer and former collaborator Pedro Almodovar), this ambitious horror film has garnered a sizable cult following. It’s just impossible to imagine present-day Spanish cinema without it.'Herederos De La Bestia’ interviews the crew responsible for Álex de la Iglesia’s masterpiece and assesses its still relevant influence. Part of the official 2016 Sitges festival selection, this superb documentary is currently still being screened at festivals around the world. It’s no surprise that the makers turned to the Spanish outfit ‘Buio Mondo’ to underscore their hard work. Buio Mondo is a project that pays tribute to the giallo and the slasher genres and is best known for their previous (and very successful) album ‘Italia Violenta’. Mixing wild metal riffs, powerful electronics and dark brooding ‘Carpenter-esque’ synth atmospheres results in a nightmarish soundscape that will haunt you in your dreams.

Born as Florian Fricke’s brainchild, Popol Vuh needs little introduction, the band stayed active between the late 1960s & late 1990s (until Florian’s passing in 2001).Regarded as pioneers in avant-garde German electronic music, their early works practically laid down the foundations for ‘Kosmische Muzik’ (Space Music) with the then new sounds of the Moog synthesizer joined with ethnic percussions.Later the group evolved to include all kinds of instruments (both electric and acoustic alike) shrouding their music in a spiritual & introspective mystical aura. Popol Vuh influenced many other European bands with their uniquely soft but elaborate instrumentation, which took inspiration from the music of Tibet, Africa and pre-Columbian America. With music sometimes described as “ethereal”, they created soundscapes through psychedelic walls of sound, and are regarded as precursors of contemporary ‘world music’, as well as of ‘new age’ and ‘ambient’.Popol Vuh regularly contributed soundtracks to the films of Werner Herzog that include classics like ‘Aguirre’, ‘Nosferatu’, ‘Heart Of Glass’ & ‘Cobra Verde’.Originally released in 1985, ‘Spirit of Peace’ is the fifteenth album by Popol Vuh. The first track was used by Werner Herzog as original motion picture soundtrack for his documentary ‘The Dark Glow of the Mountains’. ‘Spirit of Peace’ is about making the journey into the destination and it truly achieves the meaning of the album title. ‘Yehung’ chants and beautiful intertwined mellow, yet complex guitars grooves make this album an ambient (or even a new age) masterpiece.Out of print since 1985 and never released outside of Europe, now back available as a gorgeously packaged expanded Double Vinyl edition. Strictly limited to 700 copies, this release also comes with extra tracks that were not featured on the original pressing.

One Way Static Records proudly presents: Umberto Lenzi’s ‘CANNIBAL FEROX aka MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY’ (Original 1981 Motion Picture Soundtrack by ROBERTO DONATI).Maestro Roberto Donati was born and raised in Italy and as a guitarist/singer he ended up forming a wide variety of bands playing a broad spectrum of musical genres like Rock, Pop, R&B and Country & Western. Many of his songs were recorded as singles on the ‘Belldisc’ label in the late sixties and seventies. With all this experience under his belt Mr. Donati then devoted himself to the composition of soundtracks. These were all recorded under the pseudonym ‘Budy’ and were often collaborations with Maria Fiamma Maglione (who sadly passed away from cancer in 2003) thus the name ‘Budy Maglione’ was born.Working with different directors (including legendary director Umberto Lenzi) he has written music for films in various genres including Italian comedy, erotic, western & horror. Highlights include "EMANUELLE e LOLITA” (1978), "EATEN ALIVE” (1980), "CANNIBAL FEROX” (1981) and “DAUGHTER OF THE JUNGLE” (1982).Just like his contemporaries ‘Fabio Frizzi’ and ‘Riz Ortolani’, Roberto Donati was an established player in the Italian soundtrack scene…the most fame he received was probably for his soundtrack to Umberto Lenzi’s exploitation shocker “CANNIBAL FEROX” (better known in the States as “MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY”) a notorious video nasty, labeled as “The Most Violent movie ever made” that was banned or severely cut in 31 countries.Umberto Lenzi’s 1981 Cannibal Ferox is often described as one of horror filmdom’s golden grails of soundtrack albums and holds its place between other contemporary classics like Cannibal Holocaust & The Beyond. Eli Roth described it as “powerful tribal, pounding stuff” and served as an inspiration when editing his new movie “The Green Inferno” (which is an homage to the Cannibal film genre).Like many of the Italian cannibal films, the soundtrack is just as powerful and effective as the disturbing butchery. The use of funk guitar, bass, rock piano and synthesizer makes for a fun yet still powerful sound. It’s 70s recklessness with an 80s sensibility, perfect for a film that rides the line between two decades. Surprisingly funky and light-hearted, then again: there are cues which are genuinely mean and foreboding, serving as an essential piece that makes the film a pulse-pounding inferno of death.Available as a deluxe vinyl edition on classic black vinyl (with obi strip) and on two limited color vinyl variants : BLACK/BLUE SWIRL (300 units) & SOLID ORANGE (200 units). This release features the original 1981 score and an additional four bonus tracks. Also included is an insert containing exclusive and extensive liner notes by Giovanni Lombardo Radice, Roberto Donati and Robert Kerman.

Collaborations were numerous and highlights include working with Steve Winwood, Brian Eno & Alphaville… just to name a few.Klaus Schulze’s proto moog-synthesizer work is regarded as a milestone in electronic music & during the decades he released landmark albums in genres catalogued as ‘Ambient’, ‘Electronic’, ‘New Age’, ‘Berlin School’, ‘Experimental’, ‘Kosmische Musik’ & ‘Krautrock’. Mr. Schulze had a more organic sound than most electronic artists of the time, often he would throw in decidedly non-electronic sounds such as acoustic guitar and a male operatic voice. Schulze is also known for developing a Minimoog technique that sounds uncannily like an electric guitar, which is quite impressive in concert. On occasions he would also compose film scores such as Body Love (1977), Barracuda (1978), Next of Kin (1982), & Angst (1983). His best known song ‘Freeze’ has been used in films like Manhunter (1986) and more recently in Sofia Coppola’s ‘The Bling Ring’ from 2013.In 2009, producer Klaus D. Mueller and Schulze began releasing La Vie Electronique (“The Electronic Life”), a series of sets that collected rare sought-after early works & unreleased tracks put in chronological sequence. These sets contain some of the best music Klaus ever created and are early 70’s masterworks that will appeal to both fans and collectors. Now available for the first time on vinyl, One Way Static Records presents the SECOND volume in our new archival series ‘La Vie Electronique’. First ever vinyl release by Rick Wakeman’s (YES) masterpiece on a deluxe double LP setComes in a gatefold jacket with extensive liner notes Rick Wakeman is an English composer, keyboardist, songwriter, author & actor that actually needs little introduction. He is best known for being in the progressive rock band ‘YES’ and for his solo albums released in the 1970s. Rick’s early credits include playing on David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” and on songs by T.Rex, Elton John, Cat Stevens, Lou Reed and Black Sabbath (among others). Mr. Wakeman’s discography includes over 90 solo albums that range from several musical styles. To this date Rick continues to perform concerts worldwide in various capacities.During the decades Rick Wakeman also composed numerous soundtracks and additional music for films. In 1990 this led him to compose a conceptual soundtrack for the legendary 1925 Lon Chaney silent film ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’ which was released under the moniker ‘Phantom Power’. Unfortunately ‘Phantom Power’ was cut short and was missing more than half an hour of what Rick came up with – a silent realization required non-stop music for more than 80 minutes of action – yet, thought lost for quarter of a century, the score is now back in its original expanded form.Combining baroque moves with romantic passages, sometimes in a rock setting, Wakeman’s variations really bring back the original feel of this 1925 cinematic classic using a quasi-orchestral backdrop containing organs and harpsichord with the ghosts of Mozart and Bach lurking in the dark. One Way Static Records is proud to present to you (for the FIRST TIME on vinyl) the complete unreleased recordings for ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’. This is the original Rick Wakeman unedited soundtrack and contains the original mixes of the songs which are different to what eventually appeared on the “Phantom Power” album. Spread over two glorious LP’s, this set contains over 80 minutes & comes with extensive sleeve notes by Tim Scott.Available as a limited RED vinyl retail edition & as an exclusive color vinyl variant (#300 copies RED and YELLOW color in color vinyl). Both versions come packaged in a gatefold jacket.

The Burning is loosely based on the NY urban legend of Cropsey, a tale that became popular at summer camps in the 1960s and '70s. In the film, a summer camp caretaker who was horribly disfigured from a prank gone wrong is released from the hospital with severe deformities and seeks revenge on those he holds responsible, starting with the kids at a nearby summer camp.Made at the height of the low-budget slasher-film craze fueled by the success of Halloween and Friday the 13th in the early 1980s, the film has become notable for being the first release from Miramax Films. “The Burning” is also the feature-film debut of Seinfeld's Jason Alexander as well as future Academy Award winners Fisher Stevens and Holly Hunter. Legendary make-up artist Tom Savini, notable for his work on “Dawn of the Dead”, “Maniac” & the original “Friday the 13th”, created the effects for “The Burning”. Theatrically released in the United States in May 1981, it has since gained a cult following and reappraisal by critics. The iconic score for the film was composed and performed by Rick Wakeman, an English composer, keyboardist, songwriter, author & actor that actually needs little introduction. He is best known for being in the progressive rock band ‘YES’ and for his solo albums released in the 1970s. Wakeman’s early credits include playing on David Bowie’s "Space Oddity" and on songs by T.Rex, Elton John, Cat Stevens, Lou Reed & Black Sabbath (among others). Wakeman's discography includes over 90 solo albums that range from several musical styles. To this date Wakeman continues to perform concerts worldwide in various capacities.During the decades he also composed numerous soundtracks and additional music for films like ‘Creepshow 2’ (1987), ‘Crimes Of Passion’ (1984) & ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’ (1990).Rick delivers a scary soundtrack to go with the film, even paranoid sounding at times, contrasted with delicate and highly beautiful piano work which crashes into the powerful pulsating synth driven sections that are Rick Wakeman’s trademark. Jazz components mixed with eerie ambient electronics makes this an essential release for fans of horror movie soundtracks. Now... get ready to experience the sound of fear. The first pressing sold out fast. Fans from all over the world kept requesting more copies, and now One Way Static brings you a well-deserved repress of this iconic release. Available as a black vinyl repress.

One Way Static Records presents exclusively for Record Store Day 2017: “Cobra Verde” (Original 1987 Motion Picture Soundtrack composed by Popol Vuh).Born as Florian Fricke’s brainchild, Popol Vuh needs little introduction, the band stayed active between the late 1960s & late 1990s (until Florian’s passing in 2001). Regarded as pioneers in avant-garde German electronic music, their early works practically laid down the foundations for ‘Kosmische Muzik’ (Space Music) with the then new sounds of the Moog synthesizer joined with ethnic percussions. Later the group evolved to include all kinds of instruments (both electric and acoustic alike) shrouding their music in a spiritual & introspective mystical aura.Popol Vuh influenced many other European bands with their uniquely soft but elaborate instrumentation, which took inspiration from the music of Tibet, Africa and pre-Columbian America. With music sometimes described as "ethereal", they created soundscapes through psychedelic walls of sound, and are regarded as precursors of contemporary ‘world music’, as well as of ‘new age’ and ‘ambient’. The band regularly contributed soundtracks to the films of Werner Herzog that include classics like ‘Aguirre’, ‘Nosferatu’, ‘Heart Of Glass’ & of course ‘Cobra Verde’.“Cobra Verde” (featuring Klaus Kinski) was the final collaboration between Popol Vuh and director Werner Herzog. Originally released in 1987, this is the first time the soundtrack gets a vinyl release outside of Europe.Regal chants accompanied by hand drums, guitars, piano and clavier in a sacred manner are alternated with synthesizer themes that have a tense/dramatic & haunting effect. African ceremonial music and the Choir of the Bavarian State Opera corner this as a landmark meditative & ambient piece of cosmic music.Out of print since 1987, now back available as a gorgeously packaged deluxe vinyl edition, exclusively for Record Store Day 2017. Strictly limited to 1000 copies on green vinyl and comes with insert and extensive liner notes. A necessary purchase for both Popol Vuh fans and Herzog collectors.

In 1980 Uli Lommel directed 'The Boogey Man' starring John Carradine, which became a slasher genre hit and made the UK's banned Video Nasties list. Two sequels were also produced in 1981 and 1983. To underscore his film, Lommel needed a soundtrack that fitted the times like the synth based John Carpenter styled soundscapes used in 'Halloween'. For this he turned to Tim Krog and his team Synthe-Sound-Trax, featuring Jan Barlett and Ed Christiano. This trio produced a soundtrack far more progressive and unique than one might expect. Moving easily between traditional melodies and more experimental textures, 'The Boogey Man's score is a superb example of an economical but highly effective scoring style that would be prevalent throughout the ensuing decade. This edition is limited to 1.000 copies on coloured vinyl, presented in a deluxe gatefold old school tip-on jacket. Also included is a CD-record (a CD that only plays on your turntable) containing radio spot audio for the 1980 film.
