LP | 1985 | EU | Reissue (Radiation Reissues)
13,99 €*
Release:1985 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
Originally released in 1985, this is the sole album by Tony Cadenas' own THE ABANDONED, the band he formed after the ADOLESCENTS original break up in 1981. Sounding a lot like Tony's original band but with an heavier GERMS' influence, and a more metallic, darker, almost motorhead-esque touch. As long as Adolescents got back on track, right before releasing their mid 80's comeback masterpiece 'Brats In Battalions' this obscure page of California punk rock history got completely forgot and never reopened until today. A band that really pushed the boundaries for the time while sticking to their roots, something most bands were not able to do. A must for all California Punk Rock maniacs out there!

Release:1982 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
Part of the late '70s/early '80s HC/punk explosion out of the Los Angeles area, where bands like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Minutemen, and Bad Religion originated from, ANTI formed in 1979 by a then teenage Danny Phillips, better known as Danny Dean, who was the bassist / guitarist and first original vocalist, primary songwriter, and sole continuous member throughout multiple lineup changes during the past 40 years. Their 1982 debut album,I Don't Want To Die In Your War, was recorded and mixed by legendary producer and sound engineer for Black Flag and Descendents, SPOT. It is a major example of California Hardcore from the early 80's. Despite having been completely underrated, ANTI's 1982 debut paved the way for a lot of California punk to come. Available again for the first time after almost four decades on its original format, with its original artwork and complete with insert thanks to Radiation Records.

Resistance 77 are an Oi! and street punk group originating in Nottingham in 1980 and still going strong today, with their latest album released in 2015. Originally released in 1984, Thoroughbred Men is their first proper album, full of sloppy catchy riffs, anthemic vocals, and pounding rhythms. Influenced heavily by first wave Oi! groups like Cock Sparrer and Sham 69, and released on the punk group Riot Squad's Rot Records, this is an obscure and smoking piece of Oi! history never before reissued on LP.

Fusing elements of psychedelia with noise-rock, and dreamy pop, The Telescopes were near the forefront of the early shoegaze scene and hugely influential on the next wave of early 1990s Brit-pop. This crucial collection complies all 4 of their 12" singles on Creation as well as a 1991 John Peel session and other bonus tracks. Issued on 180 gram 2LP with a deluxe double sided poster insert.

Release:1982 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
Recorded in Hollywood in a mere three days at the end of 1982 - oddly enough aided by the presence of Joe Strummer who was in the studio the first day of recording - Defy the System is California punk group ANTI's second album, considered by most to be at least as astonishing as their debut. Partly played by John Carthy from Alley Cats on Drums, and originally released on the New Underground label, this was the second and last chapter in ANTI's history, right before singer Danny Dean went on to form his later band EASTER with Social Distortion's Mike Ness on guitar. This is pure early '80s California punk rock in the vein of BAD RELIGION or T.S.O.L. An absolute masterpiece now represented on vinyl, with original artwork and insert, for the first time in 35 years.

23 tracks spanning the Upstarts' early singles for independent labels, from the groundbreaking "The Murder of Liddle Towers" released in 1978 to the controversial "Brighton Bomb" from 1985. Along with UK chart hits "Solidarity", "Not Just a Name", "Machine Gun Kelly", "Woman in Disguise" and many others, Angelic Upstarts are one of the most iconic bands of the whole skinhead subculture. The group formed in South Shields in 1977 and are still active to this day. This double vinyl LP celebrates their more belligerent days along with their mid 80's productions, whose approach is more mature and politically challenged. A brilliant and long running UK punk group, this compilation is by far their finest music and a perfect starting point for getting into the Angelic Upstarts. Crucial.

Release:1981 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
Originally released in 1981, this is the 4th EP from legendary British hardcore group Discharge and it's perhaps their most famous and widely regarded recording. A blistering 10 tracks clocking in at around 15 minutes total, Why? reached #1 on the UK indie charts which, when listening today, seems like a miraculous feat for such a brutal and revolutionary sound. Discharge paved the way for '80s crust and thrash punk and literally have a genre of punk named after their unique rhythmic approach and the dozens of imitators it spawned, "D-beat"; this EP, along with the classic debut album, Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing (RRS90), are the most essential items in their catalog. True punks must get this!

Release:1989 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
Founded in 1982, the CRACK didn't release their debut album until 1989. These British punkers were often tied into the Oi! scene of the mid-80s along with Cockney Rejects, and The Business, they had more in common with the melodic punk stylings of 999 and mod groups like The Jam or Secret Affair. Featuring a blistering wall of guitars and biting melodies, from the classic album opener "My World" to the raw closer "The Giddy House" The Crack deliver ten fantastic original tunes that, while firmly rooted in 1980s UK anthemic punk, also features a pop sensibility that presages the oncoming Brit-pop scene that would absolutely dominate the '90s. Seriously, we'd bet the farm that the young Gallagher brothers were blasting this back in 1989. Absolutely essential 1980s UK punk that bridges the gap between 80s OI! and the Brit-pop/power-pop revival. Killer.

Limited Edition for Record Store Day 2018! Praised by Keith Moon as "the greatest band" he'd ever seen and ignored or hated by just about everybody else in London at the time, The Hollywood Brats left a mark on 70s rock music and the development of punk that was rivaled only by their US counterparts, The New York Dolls. The Brats trafficked in a particular brand of post-Stones snotty rock and glam that presaged the punk era by a half decade. They recorded a fantastic LP in the early 70s but were unable to find a label and eventually disbanded in 1975, just before their album was finally released in Norway. Now fetching several hundred dollars for an original copy this 2LP RSD 2018 release fills that void at a fraction of the price, and with 15 bonus tracks to boot! Classic lost proto-punk and glam LP that directly influenced the first wave of UK punk. An essential collection in a RSD 2018 limited edition of 500 copies!

Release:1982 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing, the debut album from Discharge originally released in 1982, is widely considered to be a defining statement of hardcore and punk in general. Coming on the back of several well recieved EP’s and singles, with this album Discharge laid down the blueprint for a new sound in punk rock. The songs are short, played at a constant high speed, abrasive and minimalist. Riffs were a near constant wall of ferocious strumming, aided by a constant, monotonous percussion that would become quickly known as ‘D-beat’. Lyrically Discharge were leftist in nature, dealing with anarchist and pacifist morals that, when coupled with Cold War era fear, created nihilistic and alienating themes. Discharge were true originals on the punk scene who are now credited with helping to the shape the sound of everything from thrash metal to crust punk and grindcore. Another 80s UK punk classic reissued on Radiation!

Following the success of their hit singles “Remember (Walking in the Sand)” and the title track, The Shangri-Las, all still in their teens, released their debut album Leader Of The Pack in early 1965. With songs from Lieber & Stoller, Berry & Greenwich, The Isley Brothers, and more, this LP was absolutely THE sound of mid-60s New York City. Nary a single teen party at the time, from coast to coast, and around the globe, happened without a dance to the album’s title track. These four girls from Queens changed the landscape of pop music in the mid-60s and this album still sounds fresh over a half century later. Essential girl group pop reissued on 180 gram LP.

Limited Edition for Record Store Day 2018! Well, this is not the same DISCHARGE that we all know and love. Technically it’s the same band, but it sounds completely different. As the title states, this LP is their early demo recordings from March – June, 1977. If you’ve never heard this, and someone played it at a party, you would never guess who it is. No, this is not the raging D-beat hardcore that we’re all accustomed to. The punk on this record is so ’77 that it’s almost ridiculous, very much a product of its time. The music is extremely basic, very simple, very primitive, and completely callow. It doesn’t have the political, anti-war out rage either, instead we have songs with titles like; ‘I Don’t Care’, ‘Acne’, ‘I love Dead Babies’, and ‘Sweet Suburban Dreams’. And if the lyrical content wasn’t enough to convince you that this is actually a lost SEX PISTOLS demo, then the vocal style, which sounds strikingly similar to Johnny Rotten, will. There is no list of members who played on these demos, so I have no idea how many of the members went on to be in the later incarnations of DISCHARGE. The whole record screams of the early days of young, snotty, pissed off punks filled with teen angst. I guess if you’re a huge DISCHARGE completist, you should pick this up, or if your really into the raw, primal ’77 punk sound. Limited edition of 500 hand numbered copies for RSD 2018.

Named after California State Route 39 (aka Beach Blvd.), which runs north-south through Orange County, this 1979 compilation originally released on Posh Boy is a seminal piece of Orange County punk rock. Featuring tracks from The Simpletones, The Crowd, and Rik L Rik (basically a later incarnation of Negative Trend with Rik on vocals), Beach Blvd. set the stage for the Southern California hardcore explosion of the 1980s and showed tons of kids from outside the big city, growing up bored and lonely in the suburbs, that they had a voice and an outlet in this nascent rock form. One of the all-time essential pieces of punk rock from the greater LA area, and although the names on the track list might not be as instantly recognizable as Black Flag, or X, or The Germs, make no mistake, Beach Blvd. influenced a generation of punk kids in a massive way. Finally back in print on LP thanks to Radiation Reissues.

Formed in the late '70s at the same high school that spawned L.A. legends T.S.O.L., Rhino 39 had an unfortunate fate. After releasing one of the most legendary singles of the L.A. scene on Dangerhouse in 1979 - which included a track ("Prolixin Stomp") that is considered by many to be one of the earliest examples of L.A. hardcore - the lead singer, Dave Dacron, died in a car accident in April of 1980. His younger brother took over lead singing duties and though it took another 6 years for their self-titled debut LP to be released, it still sounds like classic early '80s L.A. punk. It is impossible to overstate the significance of The Crowd to the nascent L.A. hardcore scene. Whilst bands like early Agent Orange and Social Distortion were playing to handfuls of fans in northern Orange County, in 1979 the Crowd were already filling backyards on their home turf in Huntington Beach, California. Ironically, it was further afield in the San Gabriel Valley that I first saw them perform, opening for the still punk Go-Gos in a small club. Without the continuing success of The Crowd in 1979 and throughout the summer of 1980, I would have packed my bags for London. Instead, the L.A. hardcore scene lifted off!

New Bottles Old Medicineis the 1970 debut from British group Medicine Head, a duo at the time, that had only shortly before been discovered by legendary DJ John Peel, who immediately signed them to his Dandelion record label. One of the more enigmatic and inventive groups of the British folk-rock scene, the duo's leader, John Fiddler would simultaneously sing, play guitar and operate a bass drum and hi-hat cymbal with his foot, while bandmate Peter Hope-Evans would play harmonica, jew's harp, and various percussion instruments. Creating a sound that was simultaneously ethereal and earthy, and with a voice that touched on the heartbroken vibes of Nick Drake and John Martyn, Medicine Head are truly one of the most brilliant groups of early 70s UK scene and rarely get the attention they deserve. This deluxe 180 gram vinyl reissue hopes to help right that wrong.
