Guy Gerber returns to RUMORS with a new 2 track EP, ‘Here Comes The Rain’, due for release on the 27th January.A collaboration with Deniz Kurtel, the EP combines the best of the pair’s shared ear for darkly atmospheric late night melodies. Title track ‘Here Comes The Rain’ is a highly-anticipated release, after having appeared in a number of mixes from Guy. Muted piano chords build up to a layers of echoing synths and subtle vocal samples for an evocative lead track.Meanwhile, B-side ‘An Army Of Stalkers’, as its name suggests, is a slightly faster-paced affair with twinkling arpeggios and a subtle rolling bassline. Guy Gerber and Deniz Kurtel have previously worked together, with Guy remixing her 2011 release ‘The L Word’. They’ve also performed alongside each other at a number of events, including Guy’s first Ibiza residency the Wisdom of the Glove. The EP is Guy’s fifth release on the RUMORS label, which he launched back in 2014. It follows an incredible year for the DJ and producer; 2016 saw the RUMORS event series go from strength to strength, with the Ibiza residency gaining a glowing reputation and expanding internationally, taking in parties across Europe and the US. Following a critically acclaimed first solo EP on the label, ‘Secret Encounters’, Guy went on to sell out London’s iconic Koko Camden with the promise of an all night set. The release of ‘Here Comes The Rain’ sets the tone for further successes in 2017.

Guy Gerber returns to his own RUMORS label, with his first release since the success of last summer’s ‘Rumors On The Dancefloor’ EP. ‘Secret Encounters’ is a hot doubled header of two killer productions by Guy.Guy’s RUMORS label has quickly established itself as a breeding ground for innovative and progressive techno, thanks to it’s steadily-growing catalogue of high calibre productions. ‘Secret Encounters’ is Guy’s first solo EP on RUMORS, and more than lives up to the high standard he’s set for the label.Featuring lead track ‘Secret Encounters’ and B side ‘Full Circle’, the EP strongly channels the atmosphere that Guy aims to create at his RUMORS event series and Ibiza residency; the producer previously revealed snippets of both tracks to the public in a recorded mix live from RUMORS at Destino earlier this summer.Despite his increasingly busy touring schedule, the ‘Secret Encounters’ EP proves Guy’s love for the studio is as strong as ever. His attention to detail shines through across both tracks, each of which fit in perfectly with the kind of dark, enigmatic house and techno that has become the hallmark of the RUMORS brand.

The duo Acid Mondays have brought their quirky forms of house and techno to a wealth of respected labels over the years - Warp, Circus and 2020 Vision to name but a few. Now, Negghead and Lex Wolf can add Guy Gerber’s forward-thinking RUMORS to that list, with their humorously-titled ‘Tacos Per Minute’ EP which looks set to add to the imprint’s hard-earned reputation as a breeding ground for innovative techno. The eponymous lead track features skittering metallic echoes, a pulsing sub-bass, distorted vocals and futuristic synth chords for an atmospheric opener. The first of the B-sides, ‘Mezcalid’ takes things darker and deeper. Rattling, mechanical percussion combines with a satisfyingly heavy, rhythmic bass-line before joining skipping riders for an irresistible groove. That characteristic sub-bass makes a reappearance in ‘Techno Wellies’, a track whose driving drums and up-tempo claps set the scene for a multitude of echoing effects and shimmying percussion eventually developing into a samba-esque piece of techno. The ‘Tacos Per Minute’ EP is a danceable yet quirky techno release, whose attention to percussive detail and slightly dusty feel mark it out as a characteristic Acid Mondays production, sitting comfortably amongst the high-calibre catalogue of RUMORS releases.

The latest release from Guy Gerber’s respected RUMORS label comes in the form of this 4-track EP from elusive producer Clarian. A regular Guy Gerber collaborator and remixer, Clarian has also recently released on the likes of Anjunadeep, Turbo, Life and Death, Supplement Facts and My Favourite Robot. Despite his mysterious persona, Clarian is regularly booked to play slots at some of the world’s best clubs; Fabric, Watergate, and Output to name just a few. This new EP is an exemplary slice of the kind of deep, enigmatic techno that RUMORS has become well known for, all whilst showcasing Clarian’s own unique, imagery-filled style. Title track ‘Fear and Self-Loathing’ is a dark, dreamy soundscape of exotic Arabian flutes, subtle acid stabs and echoing synths that plays out like a hallucinatory trip through the desert. Hunter Game, who has provided the first remix on the A-side, takes things down a grittier road of rolling techno, led by a stomping bassline and distorted stabs.Meanwhile, the second remix on the B-side comes courtesy of Christian Burkhardt, who has switched up the pace for his ‘Vegas’ take on the record; sliding, tense synths are offset by driving drums and flickers of whispering vocals, lending the track a cinematic, car-chase-esque feel.‘Absence’ is the last track included on the EP from Clarian. Cascading electronic arpeggios are underpinned by a strong beat, building up to an echoing excerpt from a classic French film - a couple reflecting on love ends with the female confessing that she wants to leave, giving the track a sombre edge.A well-produced four tracks showcasing varying shades of the techno spectrum, the ‘Fear and Self Loathing’ EP is set to further cement both Clarian’s status as a unique producer, as well as RUMORS’ well-deserved reputation as a reliable source of high-quality music.

Haunting, ethereal, emotive, propulsive Guy Gerber and Puff Daddy’s long-awaited collaborative album project 11 11 will at last be revealed. At once a meeting of two worlds, and yet also a dismissal of those signifiers, 11 11 inverts the recent dialogue between the worlds of hip-hop and electronic music, eschewing simple radio friendly factory fare, for darker, richer, deeper soundscapes. 11 11 is not a project aimed at main-stages and masses, but outliers and after-hours.Guy and Puff Daddy’s collaboration was not born out of opportunism, indeed it’s disruptive of the current main-stage malaise, and was germinated before the current electronic explosion; it’s collaborative and combative, an expression of two outsized creative personalities unfettered, unfiltered, fearless, raw, and after four years of work, almost unrealized.Despite their obvious differences, the duo behind these 11 tracks have crafted an album that feels organic and truthful. Puff Daddy’s delicate and understated vocals, Gerber’s emotive layering of synths, drums and melodies, 11 11 feels like a nuanced and diverse exploration of whatever powerful force drew these disparate talents together. On paper it’s a crazy collaboration, on the ears it’s magical. How an underground Israeli techno producer was cherry picked by Puff Daddy as his partner on this project, says a lot about Guy Gerber, and in turn, about Puff Daddy. One of electronic music’s most vibrant and contrarian characters, Gerber possesses one of its most singular contemporary voices, his music is both simultaneously haunting and uplifting, its music that inspires you to dance yet is evidently colored by melancholy.Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is one of hip-hops biggest and most successful stars, but he is no stranger to the electronic music, indeed he was one of the first hip-hop artists to embrace dance music, and has been making annual pilgrimages to Ibiza’s DC10 and Miami’s WMC for over 10 years. He has recorded electronic records with dance icons like Felix da Housecat, DJ Hell and Erick Morillo and released the much venerated album, ‘Last Train To Paris’. ‘11 11’ is the realization of his long-standing desire to create a soundtrack to, as he puts it, ‘rooms I don’t belong in.’
