Back in! For Those That Knoe has dug a little deeper into the history books to unearth a somewhat understated gem in the form of Casey Tucker for the second chapter of For Those that Knoe. The mid nineties was a time when the sounds of Techno and House were being combined, new sub genres were emerging into clubs and DJs were forging their own unique take on dance floor electronic music. After a handful of releases on Probe under various aliases and before that on Plus 8 with no other than Ritchie Hawtin, Casey Tucker set up Fine Balance Recordings to showcase his unique melodic Tech House solo productions. The label released two EPs (The Carpet Dancer and Accumulated Knowledge) on 12". Very much in demand today and extremely rare, FTTK has worked with Casey to dig out the original DAT recordings of those records as well as a fine selection of unreleased material to represent the second chapter of For Those That Knoe. Some of the finest melodic Techno piece with glorious st rings, sun drenched pads, liquid acid funk and sizzling hi hats, Some early acid rave sound and the purity of the early tech house sounds before digital audio workstations became favoured over their analogue counterparts. Great records with some of the best things that Techno has to offer.

Available for the first time in its entirety on vinyl is the 1989 debut album by Detroit industrial techno band Final Cut produced by Jeff Mills and Anthony Srock.Recorded prior to Mills' departure from the project Deep Into The Cut marks a significant moment in the convergence of the classic industrial aesthetic and the emerging sound of Detroit techno. The release serves as a window into this unique moment evoking both the transgressive spirit of European industrial music and the raw militant power of early Underground Resistance. Across the eleven tracks the album affronts a message of sonic urgency and still stands as a landmark statement of the industrial techno sound.Remastered in Berlin by Rashad Becker the release presents the full album as a double vinyl release for the first time. Deep Into The Cut is reissued by We Can Elude Control.

Kevin Saunderson's KMS imprint is a label that should require no introduction. The motor city label has been a Techno mainstay since it's inception in 1987.Numerous Detroit luminaries have released classic after classic on the labels hallowed grooves over the last 25+ years and it's influence is still felt in contemporary dance music today. The idea behind the KMS "Origins" series is to shine a light on the lesser known cuts in the KMS vaults as well as the classics that have given the label it's legendary status during it's lifetime. Kicking off EP 001 are Intercity, a collaborative effort between Saunderson, Derrick May and James "Suburban Knight" Pennington. "Groovin without doubt" is the track featured and is typical of the stripped back machine funk that would emanate from Detroit in the coming decades, originally released in 1987 the track still sounds killer on today's dancefloors! Following is the legendary Stacey Pullen aka Cosmic Messenger with his deep, melodic "Soundscape (Intricate mix)", released in 1993 on KMS offshoot label Eclipse the track pushes a supremely futuristic edge that showcases Pullen's prowess as a producer who is often unfairly underrated. Still sounding like it's from another planet "Soundscape" continues to excite and remain contemporary. Side B begins with some classic KMS breakbeat / Rave stylings from Master Reese himself, "You're Mine" is a sample heavy cut n paste monster from 1990, the "original mix" is featured here and still sounds like it weighs a ton, drop this one on a big system and watch the crowd lose it. Often imitated, never bettered! Rounding out the EP we have E-Dancer's "Pump the move", a stripped back, almost tribalish jam from 1991. This is some direct, heads down, dark dancefloor material, driving drums and synth stabs are woven through loose drum programming to create a "runaway train" feeling. Definitely one for the peak time dancefloors! "Origins" 001 will appeal to those who are new to KMS and will serve as the perfect entry point, it will also appeal to the diehard fans who dig that hardcore Detroit sound!

Back in! Delsin's considered re-issue and re-release arm follows up on EPs from Claro Intelecto and son.sine with a trip back to an early UK techno heyday. The man behind the two tracks getting attention is In Sync aka Lee Purkis, generally regarded as someone who played a key role in the development of house and techno in England not just because of his DJ sets - Purkis would travel to the US to buy records no one else had - but so too for his productions. A steady stream of them was released from 1992 onwards on Irdial Discs, Plink Plonk and Fortune8 and each one was to the furthermost of futuristic techno and deep, spacious house music. The re-issues presented here ('Storm' from a 1992 EP and 'Subway Route' alongside Pluto from 1993) have been fully licensed by Delsin from Irdial and have been transferred from the original master reel-to-reel tape for full authenticity. 'Storm' is an epic 12-minute plus track that travels to the furthest regions of out galaxy where warm so lar winds breeze past, the sound of spaceships circles you and a pinging kick drums drive you along. The hi hats are feathery light and jazzy and curious little alien synth sounds draw you deeper into this still futuristic sounding world. On the flip, 'Subway Route' is a 17-minute house trip that's lively and jazzy, airy and breezy and sounds like Boo Williams jamming with Carl Craig such is its hi tech sense of soul and seductive synth work. As ever this is a quality re-issue from Delsin that shines light on an often sadly overlooked producer and his truly pioneering discography.

Two Dutch institutions in Delsin and 2000 And One team up for a reissue of the 1994 EP Belongings. It was an early release on 2000 and One's influential 100% Pure label and found him in full on space-techno. The EP has been fully remastered and sounds as gloriously futuristic now as it did more than 20 years ago. 'It Belongs To Me (Version)' is an intergalactic techno track with pads drifting off to an infinite horizon as a soft acid line burrows into the big, icy hi hats and punting drums. It's perfectly spacious and sombre, while 'It Belongs To Me (Reprise)' is a much more downtempo and thoughtful version of the track where pained leads synths take the lead and the drums are off in the distance. It's the sound of resignation and dejection in techno form. 'Crystal' then layers in new age harmonies as classic dusty break beats do their dance below. Again the synths are smeared and grand in scale and the whole thing feels like a blissful rave comedown. Last of all, 'Bowed' is a happy and manic melodic track with warped bass and fluttering snares that carry you away to the stars.

Debut release on the new Kaleidoscope Jazz Chair Reissues label. First release contains some beautiful and well crafted dubbed out techno by Kit Clayton with his 1998 'Deadlock' tune originally released as the B2 on the 4-Track 'Unreliable Networks' EP (on Silent Servant's label 'Cytrax'), it slipped under many a record buyer's radar. Nearly 20 years later, now that electronic musical tastes have matured and expanded, the time seemed right to re-present, this lush, atmospheric, percussive work out to the heads, deservedly pressed on a full side of 12" Vinyl. Pussy Clap was originally released on the Remote label, set up by Charles Webster, and featured House music predominantly written by Charles and Neil Tolliday, better known as Nail. Jorge Felucca was the alias that Neil used when creating the more dubbed out, techy tracks for the label. Sounding somewhat like a deep house take on Maurizio, 'Pussy Clap' was also released in '98, but had since fallen into obscurity, and the time had come for it to be rejuvenated and polished with an amazing remaster by Pole for the modern ear that is a dramatic improvement on the original.

Another slamming cut selected from Kelli Hand's impressive discography, this time she dons her Etat Solide pseudonym for some raw, no nonsense, jacking Detroit Techno. With 4 mixes to choose from "Think About It" is an essential weapon for any DJ worth their salt. Released on the mysteriously named UK House Records and boasting the text - "Special thanks to Underground Resistance", mixed by Mike "Agent-X" Clark and featuring the engineering skills of one Robert "The Vision" Hood you know this is some serious business. "Think About It" captures the early essence of Detroit Techno, it's nagging, raw bass-line and backwards drums sound like they are about to lose control any second, the record sounds somewhat unhinged and is all the better for it! This style is often imitated but never bettered, pure %100 dance-floor energy from 1990, rare and essential! Released with the permission of and in conjunction with Kelli Hand and Acacia Records, Detroit USA. Re-mastered, re-pressed and re-released for 2015's dance-floors and record bags.

A truly essential piece of early Detroit Techno history here, Octave One's original white label "Octivation" EP from 1990 has long been a sought after and coveted slab of wax. This 5 track journey charts the Burden brothers mood from sinister, spacey, acidic Techno jams ("Sonic Fusion") to deeper, more melancholic mid-tempo cuts ("Nicolette") and along the way manages to usher in a new wave of Detroit Techno sounds. Steeped in soul and depth "Octivation" was hinting towards the epic style Octave One would shape with their various projects in the following decades and releases. The earliest glimpse (Their 1st release) into a long and fruitful career that is still continuing today. This EP was a game changer and it's influence can still be felt in contemporary House and Techno right now. Now, finally made available again to be re-discovered and experienced. Re-mastered, re-pressed and re-issued with all the original 430 West white label and sticker artwork intact, in conjunction with the Burden brothers / 430 West Records.
