Thundercat has teamed up with Tame Impala for his brand new single, "No More Lies." This is the first new Thundercat song in over three years and comes ahead of a slew of tour dates for the bassist, who has performed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes, among others, before heading to Australia, Asia and the UK this summer.

The duo of Bruner (Thundercat) and Parker (Tame Impala) are musically made for each other and electrify listeners. With "No More Lies," the duo hits the sweet spot between their two individual, complementary styles with uncanny precision. Their melodic synchronicity belies the love lament in which Thundercat muses on a doomed relationship for which he takes responsibility. The new single follows a meteoric rise into public consciousness for Thundercat, who began the year performing with Steve Lacy at the 65th Grammy Awards and was recognized at the 63rd Grammys (2021) for "It Is What It Is" in the Best Progressive R&B Album category. In 2022, he was on a stadium world tour with rock legends Red Hot Chili Peppers, with Flea subsequently calling Thundercat "the best bass player on the planet." His vocals and bass playing can be heard on the current single and title track of "Cracker Island" by Gorillaz, and he performed with the band at Coachella last weekend as well as at the 2022 MTV European Music Awards. Also in 2022, Thundercat covered "Fly Like An Eagle" by the Steve Miller Band for the soundtrack of "Minions: The Rise of Gru," produced by Jack Antonoff, and made his acting debut in "Star Wars: The Book Of Boba Fett" on Disney+.

Cosmetics is a Vancouver-based synth wave duo formed by Nic Emm and Aja Emma in 2008. In 2023, the band returns with a full-length LP entitled »Baby« and a 7” single entitled »Pillow Talk / Tell Me (Alternate Versions)«. Their music is sultry, minimalist, and atmospheric, backed by lush analog synths and sparse drum machines. Aja’s seductive vocals cut through the perfectly crafted dark synthpop forming a filmlike narrative that draws us in.

The 3rd release from Gotown Records, produced by Gota Nishidera from Nona Reeves!! The 7" includes Original Love's "It's a Wonderful World" featuring Maharajan on vocals and guitar, and a cover of Hiromi Go's "In the Cove". Original Love released this soulful masterpiece in 1994. This is a brilliant cover produced by Yudai Ohi (SANABAGUN.). The B-side is "In the Cove" from Hiromi Go's masterpiece album "super Drive" released in 1979. The mellow groove directly related to City POP composed by Tetsuji Hayashi is brilliantly interpreted in the 2020s!

The long-awaited 7 is the famous song 'san francisco', which was used as the ending theme for the final episode of the anime 'Samurai Champloo', whose music was supervised by Nujabes.

After collaborating with many artists such as Ryofu Karma, Sonomi, Goro Kumai, Shin-Ski, and Marcus D, Midicronica are now receiving high support not only in Japan, but also around the world. With the new song 'Butterfly R' on the back side, it's not hard to imagine that they will captivate more listeners than ever before.

Both tracks of this 7” reveal Franco Esse as a refined musician with a reserved personality, an almost minimalist approach to lyric-writing, and a strongly cinematic synth-pop style that is in line with the musical trends of the time and gives a nod to the soundtracks of Fabio Liberatori, falling somewhere in between slow-wave and new-romantic. These two ballads would have been the perfect soundtrack to cold winter nights in the early 80s, with snowflakes floating down on ski slopes, people clad in puffy down jackets, and music pouring into headphones from walkmans kept in back jean pockets.

Hikaru Utada “First Love/Hatsukoi” will be released on a 7 Inch Vinyl format as a limited edition on December 9 to celebrate the launch of Netflix TV Series “First Love” (coming November 24 on Netflix). The 7 Inch Vinyl is comprised of 2 Disc Set, and it includes “First Love (2022 Mix)” which is newly stereo mixed by a Grammy award-winning mixer and producer Steve Fitzmaurice, and also includes “Hatsukoi (2022 Remastered)”. The tracklisting also includes an a cappella version of both “First Love” and “Hatsukoi”.

miina and Luci return with their first new song in three years - available as a 7” single!

A-side features “Gin-chan”, the first new song in over three years from Sayonara Ponytail vocalist miina’s solo project, miina and Luci. Featuring miina’s calming vocals overdubbed with twinkling guitar lines, the folky sound is gently nostalgic - a perfect song to listen to on a cold winter night. B-side features “Sea Song” from their 2020 debut, Long Time no Sea, remixed by fellow Sayonara Ponytail member 324p! Sayonara Ponytail fans beware - this one is sure to go fast!

Woo-hoo! Two of the best Italian rare grooves ever are finally back on 7’’ for the first time since their original French release on the format! Both are from that most iconic film soundtrack of the Italian 70s (the LP is now a holy grail for collectors), Armando Trovajoli’s score to Dino Risi’s anthology sex comedy Sessomatto (1973) starring Laura Antonelli and Giancarlo Giannini. In the title track the influence of Manu Dibango’s afro-funk hit “Soul Makossa” is filtered through, and enriched by, an exquisitely Italian approach, with a sweet ’n’ groovy funk base (the terrific mid-song drum break has been a DJ favorite for decades) over which Edda Dell’Orso seductively laughs and repeats the words ‘sesso’ and ‘matto’ again and again. The wild and fun electronic samba “Kinky Peanuts” on side B is a wonderful example of ‘strange incredible music’, with infectiously quirky Moog themes and runs.

Danger Mouse protégé Baba Ali releases his double A-side 7" "Living It Up / Black & Blue" via Zen F.C., the label run by Yard Act members James Smith and Ryan Needham. It's the first new music since Baba Ali's much heralded Memphis Industries debut LP, 2021's Memory Device.

There is something magical about the synergy of the voices of a couple; they gel, they interweave, they lift each other. Remember classic duets sung by partners over the years; so much is said, more than just words. 'Warm You' is the collaboration between Mandaworld (aka Amanda Hicks) and partner Matthew Tavares (aka Matty of Badbadnotgood fame). It is a song about your lover getting out of bed in the middle of the night because they can't sleep and you telling them to come back to where it’s warm and safe and they’re loved. It was written in their Montreal apartment a few months after they moved in. Matty described the writing process "We just spontaneously decided to make music, and the idea came out pretty much immediately. I laid down some guitar and then Amanda played the synth line over it and I edited the guitar so the timing was more interesting. We worked on it for a few days getting the chorus and the verses to feel right and, for the most part, everything fell into place super intuitively. Amanda wrote the lyrics." This heartfelt, dream-pop song, with a mellow shoe-gaze sensibility, lets the pair trade verses whilst the instrumentation builds to a crescendo and the duo's voices finally combine. Lush, passionate and personal, a beautiful song, rich in evocative memories. On the ‘B-side’, Mandaworld takes centre stage. 'Spoonfeed' is a spacey synth bass-led ambient ballad with smokey hazy vocals, calming like a bubble bath. Produced with a timeless quality, the song leaves you with a sense of tranquility and a feeling of being submerged underwater. Like all the best music this 7" is deeply personal, yet these are universal themes that are relatable to any listener as they recognise their own experiences within the mood of the songs.

Wenn es nach Oliver Polak geht, werden bald alle einstimmen und dieses Lied singen: Die Kinder im Kindergarten, die Gläubigen im Gottesdienst, die Urlauber am Strand, die Dealer im Park, die Polizei auf dem Weg zum Einsatz, die Manager beim Zoom-Meeting, die Kassiererinnen im Supermarkt, die Wanderarbeiter im Schlachthaus. Corona Forever, Forever Corona. Und das kam so: Oliver war wie immer mit seinem Hund Arthur unterwegs. Beim Spazierengehen durch die menschenleeren Straßen von Hamburg hatte er plötzlich einen Basslauf und eine kleine Melodie im Ohr - und den passenden Refrain dazu: Corona Forever, Forever Corona. Oliver ging zu seinem Freund Carsten Meyer, besser bekannt als Erobique, und sang ihm seine Melodie vor. Carsten hat ein kleines Studio am Fischmarkt, in dem beiden gerade an einem Album arbeiten. French genius keyboardist Guillaume Metenier, who is also extremely popular as Booker Gee, has released a new 7-inch under the name of Soul Sugar!

A current French keyboardist/producer who attracts not only reggae and jazz but also rare groove fans with his unparalleled talent. Keyboard maestro Booker Gee, who has produced many masterpieces so far, presents a deep and sweet vocal song in this new work under the name of Soul Sugar.

Pictured Resort will release the 7-inch "Your Song On The Radio" on Japanese RSD Saturday, April 22.

Pictured Resort is a solo unit of Koji Takagi, whose sound passes through neoacoustic, AOR, city pop, dream pop, and disco. Last July 2022, they released their third and latest album "Once Upon A Season".

The A-side is "Your Song On The Radio," a mellow and sweet pop song with the melodic sense that is the essence of Pictured Resort, and the B-side is a soft 70s-inspired song that was released last year at the end of 2022 and has become a hot topic. The B-side includes "2012," a soft rock tune with a 70's vibe that was released last year at the end of 2022 and became a hot topic.

The cover of the album features a new illustration by Kachinatsumi, who has created many of Pictured Resort's works, and is a perfect example of Pictured Resort's unique style.

‘ooh DO U Fink U R’ is a gloriously sunny, optimistic and defiant Motown and ‘60’s R&B influenced stomper drawing on Suggs and Weller’s upbringing in Britain’s 1970’s comprehensive school system in London and Woking respectively. This picture disc is a Record Store Day 2023 exclusive, following from the sold out limited 7” release from June ’22. Having known each other on-and-off over the last four decades, the seeds of this collaboration emerged in 2019 when Weller joined Suggs on his Radio Four series ‘Love Letters To London’ to talk about an ever changing Soho. As the world subsequently went into lockdown in 2020, the pair started chatting more and more frequently about music, clothes and football, eventually exchanging half finished songs, demos and sketches of lyrics. With its working class aesthetic, Motown influenced stomp, and uplifting brass, it’s an intuitive collaboration that sits neatly as a welcome addition to both men’s great songbooks.

Since her debut in 2003, G.RINA has written lyrics and composed her own music, provided lyrics and music for other artists, produced sound, remixed songs, and DJ'd the latest dance music. In addition to her work as a member of the hip-hop unit Fncy, G.RINA has also released a 7-inch remix of the popular song "Charm" from her solo album "Tolerance," released in 2021. The Island Ver. is a slow-tempo mellow reggae version of the disco-style original, and the Daydream Ver. evokes the current trends of trap and ambient R&B. This is a must-have for analogue fans.

Lisa Halim, a singer-songwriter representing the Japanese surf music scene, and Cunimondo Takiguchi, one of the most important figures in the city pop/city music scene, have collaborated for the first time!! In 2021, the single "Kimi to Blue" produced by Cunimondo Takiguchi was released and became a hit among fans of sea-oriented city pop music, which led to this collaboration with Ryusenkei!! "Love is Jealousy" is an extremely pleasant fusion of Hawaiian AOR and city music. Perfectly matched groove of Ryusenkei's performance and Lisa's gentle vocal.

Tokimeki Records, whose first album is now on sale, covers Original Love's hit song "Kiss"! The song features Hikari, singer of the neo-soul band Mime and vocalist on all the songs on the just-released first Tokimeki Records album, and Melraw, an up-and-coming saxophonist who has been featured on King Gnu, Wonk, and others. Japanese folk trio Minmoa succeed where few others have. Inspired by laid back 60’s psych-folk, it’s clear that their sound is indebted to the likes of Fairport Convention and Virgin Insanity, but they stand out by updating that sound, breathing new life into a sound that’s become almost cliche.

'Cola' the submissive tones of her powerful voice are laid atop slow guitar

The A-side "Velvel Motel" (written by Takashi Matsumoto / produced by Eiichi Ohtaki) was a part of the long-seller masterpiece album "Long Vacation" by Eiichi Ohtaki, originally released in 1981. The B-side "Komugiiro No Mermaid" (written by Takashi Matsumoto / produced by Karuho Kureda a.k.a Yumi Matsutoya) is Seiko Matsuda's 10th single, originally released in 1982. Born in Tokyo in 1973 and raised in Kyoto. He made his debut in 1997 as the singer and main songwriter of the band Nona Reeves, which he formed while as a student at Waseda University. Since then, he has been involved in many productions and artists as a music producer, songwriter and composer. As an "80's music researcher," he has written official liner notes for Michael Jackson, Prince, and others, and many of his books have become bestsellers.

Stefan Schwander aka A Rocket IN DUB has been producing electronic music in Düsseldorf since the mid-1990s. He releases under a variety of pseudonyms such as Antonelli, Repeat Orchestra, Rhythm Maker, Harmonious Thelonious and While My Sequencer Gently Weeps. His music draws influences from techno, disco music (especially Giorgio Moroder), new wave, dub, abstract electronica and African music. In 2002, he released "Rocket No. 3", an old-school dub house classic with a distinctive vocoder voice. 20 years later, he has re-recorded the track together with JAN Delay on vocals. Both musicians share a great passion for dub music. Jan's great voice is just as distinctive as the vocoder 20 years ago and adds a touch of humanity to the original. The collaboration is released as a limited 7" single with artwork by Hendrik Krawen.
