The Accidental Jnr label welcomes a true stalwart of the UK rave scene to its fold in the form of hardened DJ and producer Jerome Hill. The frontman for club nights / labels Don’t, Super Rhythm Trax and Fat Hop presents four tracks that straddle the house techno divide but sit firmly within the wobbly and wonky hinterlands of the dancefloor that Herbert’s imprint has made its habitat. Opener Pob Routine’s bleepingly good time feel is as frantic as it is hypnotic, Tranmissions and RZ Thing both occupy the darker techno edge of Hill’s output, whilst More Whiffle is a vortex of sub-bass and wonderfully swinging samples that sound like they are in need of a good oiling.

Berlin based Arttu has been dropping his dusty fat beats across numerous techno labels including Philpot, Clone and 4Lux for a few years but it was 2016’s track ‘Hoodies’ on Arttu’s own imprint Cyblo that caught the attention of Accidental label boss Matthew Herbert (and which remains firmly in Herbert’s record bag). Arttu was invited onto the Accidental Jnr roster and has delivered a chunk of techno with so much swing it made Donkey Kong blush

San Francisco-bred now Berlin-based Mr Dave Aju has been making some of the most forward-thinking electronic music for the last 13 years. A diverse range of influences from his jazz upbringing and hip-hop years, to the outer realms of experimental post-rock and musique concrete can be heard in Aju's unique sound, always with a solid sense of rhythm owed to his roots as a dancer.

His new ep for Matthew Herbert's new label imprint Accidental Jnr comes in the form of Boom Yeah. An explosive mix of shuffling breaks, tribal tinged house and chant like vocal incantations. The 3 tracks of the EP were each inspired by three volcanic islands: La Reunion, Maui, and Bali (Boom Yeah, Haleakala, and Badai respectively) using handmade percussion instruments from each of the islands of origin.

‘Boom Yeah EP' is released on 12” vinyl and digitally with a remix of the title track from Matthew Herbert.
