Only 1 copy per customer!Make Love In Public Spaces is a new but not so mysterious offshoot of a label which will be familiar to anyone who has been to a certain erotically charged discotheque with a big heart in East London over the last 4 years. They launch with a three track release from Adesse Versions that recasts underground 90s classics of some vintage in his own inimitable style. Adesse Versions is the anonymous alias of a techno producer with previous work for Ostgut Ton and Curle, showing his house side and who you will no doubt recognise from his most recent work Trus'me's Prime Numbers label as Adesse.

‘That’s What Friends Are For’ once again shows how much drama Adesse can build into a track. Think back to those twelves from the dons of dancefloor tension - Ron Trent, Carl Craig, DJ Duke and Murk - music built for a world where the lights never come back on.

The Adesse Versions project has previously given us superb re-edits, remixes and re-makes of tunes from Photek, Mikey Dread, Madonna and Vikter Duplaix. Here he once again mines the past, delivering dancefloor interpretations (available in Dub and vocal forms) of cuts from Japan and Massive Attack. The two versions of the former's tearjerker "Ghosts" stick to the feel of the original, turning them into moody, atmospheric, stretched out and dub-wise deep house cuts with serious dancefloor potential. Confusingly, "Protection" is actually a rework of "Sly", and sounds like a speeded-up version of Trevor Jackson's Underdog remix with added house swing and delay-laden vocal cuts. It's actually rather good, and impeccably executed as always.

You may have caught Pride in recent Jackmaster and Spencer sets over the past few months, but we're letting it out in the wild now. The simplicity of the elements is the strength here - the creeping discord of the piano, the slow sub rolls, the sheer power of the vocal - baked together with sharp drum boxes, space echoes and ADV's years of production wisdom. The celestial Mr Fingers inspired tones of 'First Time' provide the flip.
